SPEAKER_02We have weird science facts. You produce enough saliva in a lifetime to fill two swimming pools.
SPEAKER_01That's disgusting. But like I believe it. That makes I mean it makes sense. Two swimming pools of sal Okay, I don't want to lose my breakfast. People that are gonna be salivating enough to fill a swimming pool because they're gonna be eating cake and ice cream because Amy Willington. Today, this weekend, Saturday, Cole Bland, Emma Mead, Mrs. Weaver, and Tony David. Happy bird take it on today. God gave you life. Alright, now it's time for everybody's favorite monkey. We have Bible with Mick.
SPEAKER_00Good morning, Mr. Owen. It's been a long week. Lots of great things, but I think I'm ready for the weekend.
SPEAKER_01Oh man. I get it, Mick. It's good to be busy, but it's also good to rest. Mick, you you can't rest. You can't rest right now.
SPEAKER_00I'm sorry, Mr. Allen. I guess I confused the word rest with sleep. I am very sleepy. But rest and sleep are very different. God rested on the seventh day after he completed the entire creation. But he doesn't need to sleep. Rest means to not work. To slow down and relax. We can sleep while we rest, but resting is important to recharge your batteries. Think about your phone. Your battery lasts a lot longer when we take breaks from it than if we're on it for hours and hours at a time. Like calling your mom to pick you up after school and practice gets canceled. God knows the importance of resting so much that he instituted Saturdays as a day of rest for us. He knows that humans are good at packing schedules. There's always something they need to do. Taking rest is saying, I'm going to do all of tomorrow's choice today. I can relax tomorrow. Maybe take a nice bubble bath and listen to my favorite music. Do whatever we charge is your body. Some people are recharged by being around about people. Some people are recharged by being around. It's important to know that there is a time to rest. The matter of me is always a tough one too. Because it's so busy, so emotional. Matthew eleven, twenty-eight and twenty-nine says, Come to me all you who are weary and burning, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For I am gentle and humble and high, and you will find rest for yourself. So in this last season of school, remember to rest so that you can find strength to finish drunk.
SPEAKER_01That's a great that's a great reminder, Nick. Yeah, this week talking about work and our deep thoughts verses. Today's Deep Thoughts verse is from Proverbs 12-24. It says, Diligent hands will rule, while slothful hands will be put to forced labor. That's a great verse that reminds me of a saying called, Choose your heart. Life is hard, but you get to pick when and where. And you see, in this situation, both hands are working. There was one that was slothful. That means at the beginning they didn't do their work. They're put to force labor, you're gonna do work. Hard work and suffering are coming for you. There is no escape on this side of Eden. After the fall, work is part of it, and then work and thorns and thistles and sweat, that is part of it. Now you get to choose your heart. You can work diligently and you will you'll get a chance to rule. You get to make choices if you choose to work. But if you choose to be slothful, you're still gonna work, but you're not gonna get to choose what kind of work you're gonna be doing. That's a weird concept to think about, but it's something that you should think about, and the earlier you think about it, the better. So choose your heart. You can have diligent hands, and then you get to make choices on how you work eventually. Or you can be slothful and then you'll be put to work and you won't get to choose. Now, what a great warning from the Lord. He put these things into place for his glory to glorify him. We can't work our way into his favor. We cannot work our way to look more righteous to him, he already sees us as perfect because of what Jesus did. But there's a big gap between how God sees us and how we really are. And God says, hey, close that gap. Because there's such great blessings and rewards and beautiful things that come from that. And so we want to be more like Jesus and have diligent hands. So let's pray that God will help us to do that. Heavenly Father. We confess that we've been slothful. But Lord, we ask that you fill us with your spirit. Let us have diligent hands. So that we can rule. And Lord, let us rule well. Let us make good decisions. Let us care for others. But Lord, let us not be slothful. But Lord, we thank you for your word, for this truth that you shared with us. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. All right, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, history, English, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
