SPEAKER_00Good morning, Mr. Allen. I thought I'd do some spring cleaning. I've got my sponge and soapy water in a bucket. And it made me think about some things. You know, we're kind of like the sponge. All day long we're absorbing things that we learn at school and music we listen to in the car, videos that we watch on our phone. But the things that we put in our minds are also what's going to come out in our actions. Like the sponge. When I put it in clean water, it soaks it up. Then when I pick up clean water, it begins pouring out. I don't even have to try to squeeze it. The water just has to come out. But over here I have my dirty water. And when I put the sponge in the dirty water, it soaks it up too. And again, when I lift it up, dirty water just effortly spills out from the sponge. You may have heard you are what you eat. And in this case, we're feeding ourselves good and bad knowledge. The things we watch and listen to can cause us to think and act differently. Good things can cause us to focus on good, and bad things can cause us to focus on bad. Philippians 4.8 says, Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. So next time you're watching YouTube or listening to music or talking with your friends, ask yourself, is it true, honorable, just pure, lovely, or commendable? Because if it's not, then you're about to absorb some dirty water. And what goes in has to come out. But if it is true, honorable, just pure, lovely, and commendable, then you're like the sponge that absorbs the clean water. And you and all you meet today can be blessed.
SPEAKER_02That's a great. That's a great reminder, Mick. You know, this weaken our deep thoughts versus We've been talking about perseverance when things get hard. When there's suffering. What do we do? And this is one of my favorite verses. It's Romans 5, 3 through 5. It says, not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings. Knowing that suffering produces endurance. And endurance produces character. And character produces hope. And hope does not put us to shame. Because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. You know, there was a time in my life, and perhaps sometimes even still now, where I really don't want suffering. But at the same time, I want hope. Everyone wants hope. I even think about this for my children. I don't want suffering for my children, but I want hope for my children. And so this Bible verse reminds us that you don't get to have hope without suffering. Because it walks us through suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. And hope does not put us to shame. Wow. What a great perspective. What a great realignment. So when you're suffering, be glad. Be glad because you know that God is developing hope within you. So let's pray to Him. Heavenly Father, thank you for suffering. Lord, because we know that it produces character, and character produces hope. So Lord, give us the endurance that we need to bring these things forth. Lord, you've you've poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit so much love. And Lord, we thank you for that. And we praise you, and we honor you, even in suffering, because we know you bring about your good. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, history, English, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
