SPEAKER_00

Good morning, Mr. Holland! I wanted to share my rock collection with you. Some people collect the pretty rocks and the most shiny and colorful gemstone type rocks, but my rock collection is even better. See, when I'm going through a tough time, I like to go for a walk. And while I walk, I pray. I ask God for guidance and I thank Him for what He's already done. And while I walk and pray, I look for a small rock. This becomes my prayer rock. It helps me focus on my prayer the rest of the walk. And when I get back home, I set the rock on my nightstand by my bed. And that reminds me to pray again before I go to sleep. And again when I wake up. But once God answers my prayer, I add the rock to my collection. They are fancy rocks, but they are rocks that remind me that God answers prayer. I got the idea from the Bible. See, in 1 Samuel 7, the Israelites were at war with the Philistines. And verse 11 says, And the men of Israel went out from Mizpah and pursued the Philistines and struck them as far as Bethagar. Then Samuel took a stone and set it out between Mizpah and Shem and called its name Ebenezer. For he said, Till now the Lord has helped us. So the Philistines were subdued and did not again enter the territory of Israel. And the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel. Samuel called the stone Ebenezer, which means stone of hell. So my prayer rocks become like a stone of hope, too. That's why I name my rock collection Ebenezer. Some people think that's silly, but God has delivered me from so many trials, just like he delivered the Israelites from the hands of the Philistines thousands of years ago. And the great thing is my Ebenezer chart is also on my nightstand. So I still wake up and go to bed remembering all that the Lord has done for me. And that reminds me to pray with praise and thankfulness every time you see it.

SPEAKER_03

That's a great reminder. God answers our prayers, and sometimes we forget how faithful He's been to us. We can grow weary. And so in our Deep Thoughts verses, we've been looking at what is it, what does God have to say about when you face trials, when you get weary? So today's Deep Thoughts versus from James 1, 2 through 4. It says, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds. For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. This is a great reminder. If we if yesterday we looked at how suffering produces hope. This is a another warning when we're suffering, we don't want to get out of suffering too quickly. We have to let it have its full effect. I'm just gonna check out early. If you do that, you're you're not letting steadfastness have its full effect. And you're gonna find in your life that you're gonna be lacking. It's like not quitting a sports team when it gets hard or you lose your starting spot. You have to let steadfastness have its full effect. Don't quit when the going gets tough. It's it's gonna rob you of so much if you do that. You think you're getting out of things, but really you're missing out on things. You're missing out on how God wants to develop your character. If you quit, if you don't let steadfastness have its full effect. So as we go through these last few weeks, let's not quit. Let's not let off the gas. But let's sprint to the finish. Let's have steadfastness have its full effect so that we can be complete and made perfect, lacking in nothing. Let's pray. Heavenly Father. Lord, we confess that sometimes we're tempted to quit. We're tempted to not go as hard as we can. But Lord, we know if we do that, we won't let steadfastness have its full effect. Lord, we'll be lacking. We'll be lacking the things that you want to develop within us. So help us, Lord, through your spirit. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, history, English, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
