Welcome to the night show, except in the morning radio edition where we're coming at you sort of live and kind of on your radio each and every morning. It's Friday, May 8th, 2026. We have an incredible show for you. Today we have announcements. What's updates? Buddha Whip. A whole lot more. So buckle up those seat belts and don't touch that dial. Because remember, today is gonna be a great day. Let's kick it off with some announcements. Sixth grade preview day is today, 8 20 a.m. So, fifth graders, you get to check out what's it gonna be like in sixth grade. That's a really fun time. Also, senior graduations next Friday. And then the day, the Friday after that, is the last day of school and it's a half day. So we are we're rounding that corner. We're heading into the home stretch. It's time for the sprint. Now we have the diceyest section of the show. We have weather with Rick.
SPEAKER_01Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, weather today, high 66, low 40, partly cloudy. Every other number.
SPEAKER_02Technically true. Alright, now we have the most educational part of the show.
SPEAKER_03We have weird science facts. Your brain continues to develop into your mid-20s.
unknownHuh.
SPEAKER_02I wonder what happens after that. I guess it's like undeveloping. For people whose brains are still growing because it's their birthday! I think Mrs. Roller is actually a little older than Mr. But he's a roller! Summer! Happy birthday! It's gonna be a birthday this summer. We hope it's a great one. Now it's time for everybody's favorite monkey we have Bible with Mick.
SPEAKER_00Good morning, Mr. Owling. I'm making some paper flowers to get my mom for Mother's Day this Sunday. I'm using her favorite colors. And when you open the petals, look, there's a funny picture of me in each one.
SPEAKER_02I think your mom will love that. I can't spoil my plans, but my wife might be listening. Mother's Day is a great way to honor our moms and make their day extra special.
SPEAKER_00Oh yes. And moms do so much for us. They are a gift from God. There are many amazing mothers mentioned in the Bible. We have Sarah, Abraham's wife, who had Isaac. We have Rebecca, Isaac's wife, who had Jacob and Esau. They and Rachel had birthed to the twelve children and became the twelve tribes. Well, Joseph's didn't get the tribe, but his two sons did. And of course, we have Mary, the mother of Jesus. But I want to talk about a mom we don't hear a lot about. And that's Jacobed.
SPEAKER_02Jacob. That name sounds familiar.
SPEAKER_00I think you would know her better as Mother of Moses. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02What an amazing mother.
SPEAKER_00She had Moses in a time when the Egyptians were ruling over the Jews. And Pharaoh was having the midwives kill all the baby boys when they were born. But the midwives feared God and allowed the moms to give birth anyway. So then Pharaoh had all the baby boys killed. But Jacob, she hid Moses a few months until she couldn't hide him anymore. So she made him a basket and he covered it with tar to make it waterproof. And then she laid her baby in it and trusted the Lord would provide. She set the baby and basket in the Nile River and left. Moses' sister Miriam wasn't so confident. She waited at a distance to see what would happen. And that's when the daughter of Pharaoh came and had mercy on the baby. Miriam saw the princess was wanting to adopt Moses, and so she asked if she would like her to find a mother who could nurse the baby until he was old enough. And the princess agreed. So get this. Not only did God save Jacobed's son, but he had to grow up as royalty. And the princess paid Jacob to care for her own son until he was about two years old. I hope I can have faith like Jacobed.
SPEAKER_02That's a great reminder for this Mother's Day. You know, this week we've been talking about endurance towards the end of a school year. And this is this is an encouraging verse for you. It's Hebrews 12:1. It says, Therefore, since we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely, and let us run the race with endurance that is set before us. What a great cloud of witnesses that we're surrounded by. You know, in Hebrews, there's he mentions some great witnesses that have gone before us, but you can look around. You have your parents, you have your teachers, you have your classmates, and they're all cheering you on. They all want you to run this race well. But when you're running a race, it's it's hard to run it if you're carrying stuff. So this reminds us to lay aside every weight. Brush off those sins which cling so closely to us. Let's run this race with endurance. There's only a few weeks left, and you may want to fall back into bad habits, shortcuts, things that God is like, hey, that's not wise. Sometimes that can happen when you get tired. Because don't do that. Be encouraged by all this these great clouds of witnesses around you. All these people that are cheering you on. Lay aside those weights. Brush off those sins. And let's run this race well. Let's finish together. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you so much. We are incredibly grateful that you surrounded us with your people, with your church. Or let us cheer each other on. Lord, give us endurance as we run these this last leg of this race. Let us lay aside the things that drag us down. And let when the world sees Province Academy, let us see us finish well. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, English, history, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
