We have an incredible show for you today. We have announcements. Bible with me. A whole lot more. So buckle up those seat belts and don't touch that dot. Because remember, today is gonna be a great day. Let's kick it off with some announcements. Big night. Seniors, we are so proud of you. Some of you guys have been here for a long, long time. And we love you. We're gonna miss you, but we're excited about what God has for you next in this chapter of your life. But now it's time for the diceyest section of the show. We have Weather with Rick.
SPEAKER_03Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, weather today, high 82, low 58 showers. You know, Mr. Holland. My friend Philip had his lip removed last week. Really? Yeah, now we just call him Phil.
SPEAKER_04Alright, now it's time for the most educational part of the show.
SPEAKER_02We have weird science facts. A giraffe's tongue can be over 18 inches long.
SPEAKER_04Whoa. I've actually seen it. If you ever go to the zoo, sometimes you can feed the giraffes. I got to do that once. It is wild. God's creation is it's just incredible. For people that are gonna be using their tongues to eat cake and ice cream because it's the birthday. And then Saturday. Elizabeth, David, David, Roscoe! It's your birthday this summer. Happy birthday. God gave you life. What a blessing. What an awesome. What an awesome thing. What a great thing to celebrate. But now we have everybody's favorite monkey. We have Bible with Mick.
SPEAKER_00Good morning, Mr. Allen. You know, tonight is a graduation for the seniors, and I was thinking about how exciting it would be to be finally done with school. At least in the traditional sense. College is so much more flexible scheduling-wise. But still, you have to persevere. But as I was thinking about the excitement and pride of these students that they were ready to move on to this next chapter in their lives, I started to think about all the memories they've had in these walls. Many of them have been here since kindergarten. They probably felt comfortable here. Like it was one thing constant in their ever-changing lives. Only their changes in life were punishments. But I imagine our seniors might have some of the same uncertainties. You know, the Israelites never knew what tomorrow held. They just had to follow God as a pillar of fire at night or as a pillar of cloud in the day. And when they were to stop, God stopped. And they set their tents and their tabernacle, and that was their home for a time. Until the pillar came back and began to move again. Only the Israelites had trouble trusting God. And they often grumbled for food and water and would wish they could go back to Egypt, where they knew what to expect. Even though what they expected was more torturous slavery. The seniors are about to go on their wilderness journey. They'll be tested by the world. But not because God isn't there. Because of other distractions around them. Suddenly they don't just go to church because their parents make them. They go to church because they desire to have a relationship with God. So, seniors, if any of you are listening, I have three lessons that I learned from the Israelites wondering. One, look for where the Lord is taking you. Don't just follow your heart because our heart can deceive us. Even if it seems like you're taking the long way around. God has a reason, and his ways are always best. Number two, be content. God will provide for all your needs, even if it's a package of ramen every day of a week. Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find. Don't fall into temptation of complaining, but be joyful for the chance to spread your wings. And number three, share your gifts with others. While the Israelites roamed, there came a day when they had to build a tabernacle for the Lord. And the people shared all the things that they had gotten from Egypt: fine linens, gold and silver, dyes and incense. And they offer them to the Lord. You have many things that your parents have provided for you, too. And you're gonna be taking them to college, your new apartments, and those things can be used to glorify God. Your voice can bring new light to a new congregation in that college town you moved to. Your car can pick up people to come worship with you. Even that game system can help you meet new people who may eventually come to know God by your example. Don't keep everything to yourself, but be generous to everyone. God has a plan for you. Good luck, seniors, and enjoy this special moment. You earned it.
SPEAKER_04Thanks, Meg. You know, if we've been inning out one of our last weeks, Deep Thoughts versus And today's Deep Thoughts versus from Ephesians 4 22 through 24. It says to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life, and is corrupt through deceitful desires. Be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and put the new self on, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. So this desire to sometimes go back to ways that we put behind us. This is something that God warns us about a lot in the Bible. Okay, your former manner of life. The way it used to be, the way you thought, put that behind. And put on the new self. See, God's transforming your heart. If you know him, if you've accepted him as the Lord and Savior of your life, he's gonna start, he's gonna start changing you. There's no way to not be changed. He's gonna work on you. But you're gonna be tempted to turn back. And God gives us a lot of warnings, says, hey, listen, don't do that. Don't put on, don't put on your old self. Put on your new self. Created after the likeness of God and true righteousness and holiness. That's hard to do. So let's pray that the Holy Spirit will help us. Heavenly Father. We confess that we are tempted to turn back to our old self. Return to the sins that ensnare us. God, you haven't called us to be that way. You haven't called us to live in fear and anxiety or stress, Lord, but you called us to live in your peace. To live in your true righteousness and your holiness. So help us, Lord, through your Holy Spirit, transform us, change us. Don't let us turn back. But Lord, let us keep pushing forward. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, history, English, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
