SPEAKER_00Good morning, Mr. Allen! I'm excited about field day today. We've got races and Olympics and popsicles. Oh, it's gonna be so much fun. Exercise is so important for our growth, too. I hope the weather cooperates. Second grade is even planning on starting their garden today. All this rain we've been having will be great to help those plants grow too. Did you ever think about the fact that Jesus had to grow? We don't know a lot about his life before he started his ministry. We know quite a bit about his birth. Even if we don't know the exact day he was born, but we know a little bit about when he turned twelve. Which is in Jewish culture, marks when a Jewish boy becomes an adult. So technically he wasn't a child then, nor was he? I don't know. I'm sure he was just like any other kid, only completely obedient. But he still had to learn and grow just like the rest of us. But instead stayed in the temple talking with the teachers. And then three more days searching for him. I can only imagine how scared and maybe even mad his parents were. And when his parents saw him, they were astonished. And his mother said to him, Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been searching for you in great distress. And he said to them, Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my father's house? And they did not understand the saying that they spoke to him. And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with God amen. So even though Jesus was considered an adult by Jewish custom, he still had to submit to his parents. But it also said he grew in wisdom and stature. That means not only did he mature in mind, he was still growing physically too. He was still a kid, learning appropriate times to do things and seeing consequences for those actions. Even though his actions were righteous, he had to grow. We can't stay kids forever. All the students here have grown in wisdom and stature this year, and today is a great day to see that growth. Whether it's seeing the growth in our races or growth in a tomato plant. All living things must grow, just as Jesus did.
SPEAKER_03That's a great, that's a great reminder. It's kind of hard to think of Jesus as a child. Uh, but he was. Uh and he was fully God and he was fully man. This week we've been kind of looking at deep thoughts verses and seeing what God would have for us this summer. So John 15, 3 through 5 says, Already you are clean because of the word that I've spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine. Neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I am him, he's it that bears much fruit. For apart from me, you can do nothing. So this summer, I want you to come up with a plan. There's so much structure here at school. You're you listen to the night show every morning and you get to hear God's word. And you go to Bible and you get to hear God's word, and you go to chapel and you get to hear God's word. And this summer you're gonna have to make those choices yourself. So maybe sit down with your parents and say, let's come up with a plan. To get in God's Word every day, to pray together, to listen to Him. And that's such an important thing to do. That's an important thing to do during the school year on your own. But especially in the summer. So talk to your parents and say, hey, maybe there's a there's a Bible study that we can do together as a family. Or maybe I can put together a reading plan to start working on. Or if you're older, maybe you maybe you start a year read through the Bible. There's lots of different ways that you can make it a habit to get into God's Word because you want to abide in Him. And He to us. Because we can't bear fruit without it. So we need to be praying for each other and living in communion with each other. Being staying connected with your church. All those things are ways that we grow in the Spirit. So let's pray that God will help us with that. Heavenly Father, help us. Lord, draw us near to you. Each day. Lord, this summer is things get a little less scheduled. Lord, help us to stay disciplined, to draw near to you in your word. Lord, help us to abide in you. Lord, we want to bear great fruit. But Lord, we can't do that on our own. But through your spirit, through your word, through your love, through your church, we can. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, history, social studies, English, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
