Welcome to the night show except in the morning radio edition where we're coming at you sort of live and kind of on the radio each and every morning. It's Wednesday, August 12th, 2026. We have an incredible show for you. Today we have announcements. Bible with me. And then a whole lot more. Because remember, today is gonna be a great day. Let's kick it off with some announcements. All school chapels today at 8 15 in the gym. It's a great day. Love. We only get the whole school together for chapel a few times a year, and this is one of the special ones. So we can't wait to have you today. But now it's time for the dice section of the show. We have weather with Rick. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, weather today, high 84, low 65, clouds and sun with a strong thunderstorm and spots. Humid. Mr. Holland, a walnut and a cashew decided to throw a party. Everyone agreed. It was nuts. Oh man, alright, now it's time for the most educational part of the show, we have.

SPEAKER_01That's pretty impressive. I can barely remember where my keys are, and I put them pretty much in the same place every day. But people that are gonna be searching around not for seeds, but for cake and ice cream, because it's their birthday! Let's get some more summer birthdays, July 14th and the 20th. SPEAKER_00Good morning, Mr. Howman. We have old school chapel this morning. Yay! And I love the theme verses here. Galatians 5:1, for freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery. Been thinking a lot about this verse. Mainly because I didn't know what a yoke was. I thought it was talking about the yellow part of an egg, but that didn't make any sense. Slavery doesn't need eggs. So I looked it up. A yoke is a wooden board frame by which two trapped animals such as oxen are joined at the heads and necks were working together. So think about that. You and another person are attached with this big heavy piece of wood. If you get tired and slow down, the other person drives you along to force you to continue. No rest, just work. That sounds like more like slavery. But our slavery is to sin. Submit means to follow and obey a leader. So submitting to a yoke of slavery is saying, I prefer letting sin ruin my life. And we all fall into bad temptation sometimes. When we're in Christ, we have a yoke that slips off us, and we are set free. I can't imagine what a donkey or not would do if they were suddenly released to live life freely after a long life of toil and trouble. We can have freedom in Christ, but there's more. We have to stand firm. It's like the wise man's song. The wise man built his house upon the rock. Because our foundation is on the rock. But the foolish man, the foolish man built his house upon the sand. He built his house on sand, like submitting to that heavy yoke of slavery. God lets us choose freedom or slavery. And when Christ sets me free, I am free indeed.
SPEAKER_01What a great reminder. Build our house upon the rock. Today, our deep thoughts verse is from Ephesians 4, 22 through 24. Says, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life, and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, upon a new self created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Every day, sometimes I reflect back on my day and I'm like, man, I wish I would have done this different. Or I wish I would have done that different. But God's mercies, they allow us to do that. They allow us to say, you know what? Tomorrow, God's mercies are new. I want to throw off my old self. I want to be transformed from the inside out. I want to be more like Jesus. God transform us. So we can throw off the deceitful desires. And we can be renewed by the Spirit through our minds. And we can really choose what's righteous and what's holy. That's what we desire. Not just for you to be like, well, I'm afraid of getting in trouble, so I'm not gonna do what I shouldn't. We want you to love doing what is good. We want you to love goodness. And that's gonna be a lifetime transformation. And eventually an eternal one. And we look forward to that day. So let's pray and praise God for renewing us. Heavenly Father, we are so thankful. That you sent Jesus to die on the cross to forgive us. So that we won't be eternally bound to our sins. But Lord, you separate them from us. You give us a new heart. So, Lord, help us to love what is true. Help us to love what is good and what is beautiful. Help us to throw off our old self and be transformed. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
