SPEAKER_04That was a mouthful. Alright, now we have everybody's favorite monkey. We have Bible with Mick.
SPEAKER_00Good morning, Mr. Helen! What a week. We've had so many thunderstorms this month. Did you know that in order for a thunderstorm to happen, you need three things. You need moisture, unstable air, and lift. The moisture comes from the rain clouds. But unstable air happens when humid warm air rises and mixes with the cold, dry air above it. And then the lift is created as that warm air rises and the cold air falls. All of this creates thunderclouds with lightning and strong winds. Maybe you're weak has felt like this. Maybe getting back into a routine has caused you to rush a bit more, and then you have an unstable relationship with classmates or you feel like you're being pushed over the edge. Things get stressful. We're back to the old rhyme, and we've hit the ground running. But you know what I also saw a lot of this month? After the thunderstorms, when the winds calmed down, the rain was still there. But the sun would come out. And every time I see rain and sun, I have to look for a rainbow. Maybe your rainbow is a relaxing weekend with your family, and maybe your rainbow is catching up on sleep. But the storms always pass. Rainbows remind us of God's promise to never flood the earth again, but we can also look at a rainbow and see that God still cares about us, which is why he won't flood the earth again. Psalms 50, 15 says, And call upon me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. Lightning reminds us of God's holy light, and thunder follows, showing God's amazing power. The rain comes to the just and the unjust, but the sign comes in the morning, and a new day begins. It's gonna be a great year.
SPEAKER_04That's a great reminder, Mick. In today's deep thoughts, verse is from Philippians 3, 13 through 14. It says, Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. What a beautiful verse. First weeks of school are hard. It's hard to get back into the swing of things. But God calls us ahead. Straining forward. It does, it takes effort. There's no way around this. Life is hard. It is a struggle. It always will be. There's nothing we can do to make it not so. That doesn't mean that it's wrong. We push towards what lies ahead. Towards the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. So we want to be straining towards the good. We want to be choosing the good. What a blessing to be able to do that, to be able to have a God that loved us enough to show us what the good was. So let's pray to him. Heavenly Father. Transform our hearts. Help us to forget what lies behind and help us to strain forward to what lies ahead. Lord, help us follow the upward call that you've placed on us. Because of the incredible gift of your son Jesus. And it's in his precious name that we pray. Amen. Alright, you have an incredible Friday ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, English, history, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
