We got an incredible show for you today. We have announcements. Bye bye. A whole lot more. So fuck up those seat belts and don't touch that dial.
SPEAKER_04Because remember, today is gonna be a great day. Let's kick it off with some announcements. Middle school chapel, 810 a.m. Parents, you're always welcome to school. You're especially invited on chapel day. So middle school parents come and join us. What a great time to just worship the Lord together. But now it's time for the Diocese section of the show. We've got Weather with Rick.
SPEAKER_03Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, whether today afternoon thunderstorms are too high for low 66. You know, Mr. Holland, I'm you know, I'm looking for some just some different jobs, some things I could do to, you know, pick up some shifts. I asked a guy who stalls elevators if he likes his job. And he was like, well, it has its ups and downs.
SPEAKER_04Alright, now it's time for the most educational part of the show. We have Weird Science Facts. Some plants hear themselves being eaten and fight back. Whoa. Fight fighting plants. That's kind of scary. God's creation is just incredible. Of people that are gonna be fighting back the candles because there's so many on their cake, because it's their birthday! Sunday Cooper Pointer today, Kinsley Presnell. Happy birthday. Do you love it up? Sing a song, do a dance, happy birthday life. What a great thing to celebrate. Alright, now we have everybody's favorite monkey. We have Bible with Mick.
SPEAKER_01Good morning, Mr. Holland. Check it out. I made homemade bouncy balls. It was really easy to make. It's similar to making slime. I mixed four tablespoons of warm water with three tablespoons of cornstarch and just half a teaspoon of Borax powder. Then in another bowl, I poured just one tablespoon of Elmer's glue. And I added just a little bit of food pine to the glue and mixed it up before I added it to the water mixture. I dumped all the liquid to the glue and mixed them up until it makes a thick slime. And then I just rolled it between my palms until it made this bouncy ball. It's pretty bouncy, too. This one got a little flat. See, that's what happens if you don't put the ball in the right container. See, this one I put inside an Easter egg. And the shape of the egg helps the ball stay rounded. That one I left it as a plant bag. And after a couple of hours of not playing with it, it started losing its round shape. Sometimes we get like these bouncy balls. We change to fit our surroundings. Maybe we act one way around our friends and another way around our parents. We're just trying to fit in, but we are being a true form. The egg supported the bounty ball, the way our God supports us. And on our own, we're gonna fall flat. God made us in his image, and he supports us and gives us the guidance to keep us looking like him. Without God, when we try to earn our own salvation, we don't have that. And so we begin losing that shape. Romans 12, 2 says, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. We have to be careful to follow the will of God. That support is going to help us remain on the right path. We can't do it on our own.
SPEAKER_04Thanks, Mick. This week's deep thoughts verse comes from Proverbs. It's Proverbs 1320. It says, Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise. But the companion of fools will suffer harm. You know, uh, someone once said, show me your friends and I'll show you your future. And so when you're begging your friends, who are you gonna hang out with? Who are you gonna spend time with? Try to choose people that you want to be like. Because they're gonna have an incredible amount of influence on you. Now we wanna be friendly to everyone. We wanna be kind to everyone. But we get to choose who we really spend a lot of time with, who we choose to allow to influence us. And God gives us warnings. He says, listen, if you hang out with wise people, you're gonna become more wise. They just kind of share their wisdom with you. But if you hang out with fools, if you pick someone that's always making bad choices, someone that's always getting in trouble in class, someone that's doing things that are kind of right on the edge of what they should do, you're gonna start doing those things. You're gonna become like them. There's we that's just the way that God designed us. And so you wanna be really, really careful. Love everyone. Be kind to everyone, but make good choices on who you choose to spend your time with. And be that kind of person for your friends. Be the kind of person that people are like, I want to become like them because they make wise choices. Let's pray that the Holy Spirit will help us. Heavenly Father, give us wisdom. Give us wisdom to make good choices on who we spend time with, who we choose to allow to influence us and let us choose wise people. Let's choose wise friends. Lord, don't let us be drawn to the fool. Lord, let us see that for what it is and make great choices. And Lord, let us be a good friend. Let us be the kind of person that people want to be around because we make wise choices. But Lord, and left to our flesh, we won't do that. We'll make poor choices. But Lord, with your Holy Spirit, we can. We can make great choices with our friends. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. All right, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, history, English, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
