Welcome to the night show except for the morning radio distance where we're coming at you sort of live and kind of on your radio each and every morning. It's Tuesday, August 18th, 2026. We have an incredible show for you today. We have announcements. Buckle up those seat belts and don't touch that dot. Because remember, today is gonna be a great day. Let's kick it off with some announcements.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, weather today, a few showers in the morning, high 85, low 65. That's almost you know, I was talking to that elevator repair man yesterday, and you know, my first experience using an elevator was really uplifting. The second time, it let me down.

Certain plants like a radio mosis can detect the sound of a caterpillar munching on it, and they respond by releasing chemicals to scare it away or attract predators.

Whoa. That's pretty cool. Caterpillars munching on a leaf. And then the leaf kind of like knowing that that's going on and doing man, God's creation, He's He has made all things and for His glory. Which is it's cool to see that. Fantastic stuff. People that aren't gonna be munching on leaves, but they're gonna be munching on cake because it's their birthday.

No birthdays today. We have over 800 kids, almost 200 faculty and staff, not a single birthday. Happy birthday! You can tell anybody today it's not your birthday.

Good morning, Mr. Alan. I had the craziest dream last night. I dreamt that I was peeling a yummy banana, but suddenly it jumped out of the peel and rolled away. I chased after it and I grabbed it, but it was covered in hair and dirt. So then I decided I was gonna wash it off so I can eat it. But when I took it to the sink, the water wouldn't turn on. I looked and there was this hose coming from the pipes. So I followed it all the way to an old wishing well. So I decided to wish for a clean banana. And suddenly I heard a voice saying, This banana will feed you, but you will be hungry again. I looked down and my dirty banana turned into a fishing bowl. So I cast a lime in the well, and when I reeled it in, it was a whole bunch of bananas. I think that dream was bananas. But it kind of reminded me of the woman at the well. And unlike my dream, Jesus really did speak to the woman and gave her something so much better than water, or even a bunch of bananas. John 4 talks about the woman who came to get water from the well and Jesus began talking to her. After a while, she asked him how he was gonna get water without having anything to carry it in. But in verses 13 and 15, Jesus says, Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will soon become in him a spring of water, welling up to eternal life. The woman said to him, Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty and have to come to draw water. She didn't quite understand what he meant. But after more talking, Jesus revealed himself as the Messiah. The woman was so impressed by his knowledge, she went back to the city, leaving her water pot behind, and told people about Jesus. They came to Jesus and even asked him to stay with them two more days. That's a dream come true, right? All those people who come to know Jesus, all because he asked a woman for some water and that living water that Jesus was talking about was actually his blood that washes us from our sins, so that we can all go to heaven and have eternal life with him.

Thanks for sharing, Meg. And this week, in our deep thoughts verse, we have been talking about friends. How to make them, how to be a friend, how to choose a friend. So today's Deep Thoughts verse is from Proverbs 1717. It says, a friend loves at all times. And a brother is born for adversity. You know, sometimes it's hard to be a friend. Because we are all gonna have times in our life where we we have a struggle or a challenge. We don't know when those are gonna come. I think about Mr. Ward just had a freak roller skating accident. He needed friends, and he still does, during a time of adversity. When we think about Mrs. Gilmer, she needs friends. And friends are there when the going gets tough. Not just when it's easy, not when it's convenient, not when it serves us. But we're friends because we love each other. And we're friends even in tough times. That's why God gave us his church. That's why God gave us community. That's why God said be friends. Find yourself first to be friendly. Are you finding yourself to be friendly? But a friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. Let's pray the Holy Spirit that he'll help us to be good friends. Heavenly Father, we are so grateful for friends. Lord, help us to be good friends. Help us to care for each other even when that person can never pay us back. Help us to be there when they go and get stuff. Help us to show up for each other. Lord, because you loved us on our darkest day. You showed up for us. And we could never repay you. There's no thing that we can give back to you that you need from us. But you love us anyway, so let us be those kinds of friends to each other. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, history, English, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
