Welcome to the night show, except in the morning radio edition.
SPEAKER_05
We're coming at your sort of live and kind of on your radio each and every morning. It's Wednesday, August 26th, 2026. We have an incredible show for you today. We have announcements. And a whole lot more to buckle up those seat belts and don't touch that dial.
SPEAKER_03
Because remember, today it's gonna be a great day. Let's kick it off with some announcements. High school chapel today at 110. And then there's a fifth grade honor choir auditions are happening today. So check out PA notes for those details. We want to honor the Lord with the arts, with our voices, and with our singing. And so the honor choir is a great opportunity to be able to do that. But now it's time for the dicey section of the show. We've got weather with Rick.
SPEAKER_02
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, weather today mostly cloudy. High 82, low 62.

Darland, if you watch the movie Jaws Backwards, it's actually a heartwarming story about a shark who gives arms and legs to people who really need them.
SPEAKER_03
Alright, now it's time for the most educational part of the show we have.
SPEAKER_01
Weird science and facts.
SPEAKER_03
I guess I never really thought about that. There is no amount of cold it could be where it just can't snow anymore. Uh there's that's the that's the final that's the final stage for water. Uh it's as cold as it can get. People that aren't gonna be feeling too cold today. They might actually feel warm and fuzzy all over because it's their birthday!
SPEAKER_05
Jackson Price, Kaylin Hyder, and Emma Smith.
SPEAKER_03
It is your birthday. Happy birthday. Live it up, sing a song, do it. It's your birthday. Happy birthday, you life. What a blessing. That is. I love a birthday. I love to celebrate them. But now it's time for everybody's favorite monkey we have Bible with Mick.
SPEAKER_00
Good morning, Mr. Helen! I have some leftover pizza from dinner last night. Granny Key let me pick whatever I wanted on my pizza. I have some pineapple and ham. But I didn't want any mushrooms or onions or peppers. I got the perfect pizza with only the things that I like. But that made me think, what if I did that with God? What if I said, well, I would never murder steal some of all of those commands. But I really want to sleep in instead of going to worship on Sunday. That's not that big of a deal, right? But then I'm not worshiping my God on Sunday because I just want more sleep. I can't pick and choose what I want to do with God, like I do with my pizza. God gives us commands. There are a lot of commands God gives us. So it can be hard to follow every single thing. That's why Jesus sums it up for us. This is the great and first commandment. And the second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. And these two commandments depend all the law of the prophets. So that's kind of like me saying, I want every meat and veggie and fruit on my pizza. I don't have to list them out individually, so I won't forget anything. God is not like a pizza, though. I love all of him, and so I obey his commands. Not to save myself, but to bring honor to God.
SPEAKER_03
That's a great, that's a great reminder for us to learn to love what is good and to choose what is good. What a blessing and what peace that brings. That's why we're talking about peace this this week in our deep thoughts verses. So today's deep thoughts verse is from John 14 27. It says, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not of the world as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. Oftentimes I pray for peace. And in my mind, I want peace the way I want it. I want God to fix my situation. I want him to adjust my surroundings. I want him to change everybody else but me. And God's like, I don't give peace like the world gives it to you. The world kind of paints this picture of peace, meaning that you get what you want. And that's not the kind of peace that God gives. God says, I give you peace because I am in control. And what I want as God is ultimately what's best. And you can trust whatever you have. Whatever your situation is, you can have peace because you can know that I am in control. And I'm good. And so don't fall in love with your peace. Because usually, if you really get what you want, it's not good for you. If you get everything that you desire, your heart's desire, it doesn't bring you peace. It typically brings you heartache and problems. A famous philosopher once said, more money, more problems. We think we want more money, we want more of these things, but they just give us more problems. So let's pray to the Lord and thank him for giving us peace, not like the world gives it. Heavenly Father, we are grateful. We're grateful that our way is not the best way, that your way is the best way. That we can rest and trust in you and not in our situation or our circumstances. But that your portion for us is perfect. So let us not fall into the trap of thinking that if we just get what we want, that we'll be happy and we'll have peace. Because we know that's not true. But let us rest in what you have provided for us. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, history, English, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
