Oh man, I think I have a new appreciation for Rick's jokes.
SPEAKER_00
I know, I know. Knock knock jokes aren't the most are the most basic of jokes. But I wanted to talk about when we knock at God's door. See, sometimes when we knock on a friend's door, they can't open it. So we have to find someone else to play with or something else to do. But the Bible says if we knock on God's door, it will always be open to us. Sometimes we knock on a neighbor's door to borrow something and ask for help. We do that when we knock on God's door too. Only God's door isn't a real door. They're using this image of a door to help us understand how we come to know God through our prayers. Matthew 7 7 says, Ask and it will be given to you. Knock and it will be open to you. God wants us to come to him with every desire of our hearts. Even though he always is there. He wants to share his blessings with us. And he wants us to lean on him for help. Some people say that God will give you anything you ask for. But God is a perfect man. And he also knows what's best for us. I can ask him to win the lottery, but maybe he'll allow that. He may also know that if I have lots of money, I might think I don't need him anymore. So he may ask him when God wants us to ask him, to seek him, and to come to him no matter what the circumstance. God's door is always open to us.

That's a great reminder, Make. You know, this this week in our Deep Thoughts verse, we're talking about going through difficult times. So today's Deep Thoughts verse is from James 1, 2 through 4. It says, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds. For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. And I love this verse because you may ask asking yourself, would you like to be lacking in nothing? You can almost like envision it like a commercial where they're like, Would you like to be lacking in nothing? Would you like to be perfect and complete? You'd be like, Yeah, I want that. What what what can I buy? And God says, well, to get that, you need trials of various kinds. Oh, I don't I don't want trials of various kinds. But you see, this is the process. You don't get to be complete and lacking in nothing unless you have trials. Unless you go through difficult times. So you might be going through a difficult time right now, but God, why are you why are you allowing this difficult time to happen? And because God knows. Trials produce steadfastness. And don't miss this little section that says, and let steadfastness have its full effect. See, often I want to get out of a trial as fast as I can. I want to take whatever shortcut, whatever I've gotta do to get this trial off my back and get it behind me. God says, Don't do that. Let steadfastness have its full effect. If you do that, you're gonna it's gonna change you. And it's gonna change you for the better if you allow it. So if you're going through a hard time right now, count it as joy. Because God's gonna make sure that you're lacking in nothing. If you're going through a great time right now and you're like, I don't have any trials, that's okay too. You could rejoice in that. Rejoice always. But if you're going through a hard time, rejoice in it. So let's pray. Heavenly Father. Thank you for trials. Thank you that they produce steadfastness. And that that's our road to being perfect and complete and lacking in nothing. So, Lord, give us the patience and the courage to let steadfastness have its full effect. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, history, English, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
