Welcome to the night show, except for the morning radio edition where we're coming at you sort of live and kind of on your radio each and every morning. It's Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026. We have an incredible show for you today. We have announcements. Bible with me. And a whole lot more. So buckle up those deep belts and don't touch that dial. Because remember, today is gonna be a great day. Let's kick it off with some announcements. Doe River Gorge high school retreats going on all this week. And then if you're looking for something to do, Friday night, if you were if you missed out on this last Friday night's football game, you missed out big time. It was great. You want to catch another one 28th, this Friday, or sorry, the 4th, this Friday, high school football. We're taking on Eagleton. So come on out, there's inflatables, lots of great stuff going on. You don't want to miss it. But now it's time for the diceyest section of the show. We've got weather with Rick. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Weather today, mostly sunny. My sheet says 889 degrees. But I don't probably just 800. Couldn't be 889. That's way too hot. So it's probably a typo, just 800 degrees, people. Do not freak out. And low 68. So quite the swing, but do not fear. I am surprised. How when did I get when I go to the gym? I went and I was like, man, this exercise is wearing me out. And then the personal trainer that I hired looked at me and he goes, Rick, this was just the tour of the gym.
SPEAKER_02I'm never going back.
SPEAKER_01Alright, now it's time for the most educational part of the show.
SPEAKER_02We have Weird Science Facts.
unknownThey can blow out a flame. Kind of like when you blow out a candle.
SPEAKER_02Some scientists have even made a fire extinguisher that works using only sound.
SPEAKER_01Whoa. You've ever like stood in front of a really big speaker at like a concert or something, it'll like blow your hair back. It's pretty cool stuff. God's creation is incredible. But people that are gonna be using their mouth and the wind from their lungs instead of sound to blow out candles today because it is their birthday! Wallace Jordan, Ellie, Seaford, and Samuel Michel. It is your birthday today. Live it up, sing a song, do a dance! Happy birthday today. God gave you life. What a blessing that is. Now it's time for everybody's favorite monkey. We have Baudible with Mick.
SPEAKER_00Good morning, Mr. Helen! I learned something really cool yesterday. I want to show you this cool trick. I have two jars here with liquid in them. And a black light. So first I have a jar of Coca-Cola. It's a really dark liquid. Can you turn the light off, Mr. Holland, for a second?
SPEAKER_01Sure.
SPEAKER_00You can just wait by the light switch.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Now that it's dark, I'm gonna turn the UV light. Okay, Mr. Holland, what do you notice?
SPEAKER_01Nothing. It's too dark in here.
SPEAKER_00Okay, you can turn it back on. So this jar is full of darkness. The dark soda lets no light in. Now I'm gonna do the same thing with this jar of tonic water. But before we turn the lights out, describe the liquid in the jar, please.
SPEAKER_01It just looks clear. It is a little bubbly though.
SPEAKER_00Okay, you can turn the lights out now. So right now it's pitch dark. But when I turn on the UV light, what happens?
SPEAKER_01Whoa, it's glowing really bright.
SPEAKER_00Right. You can turn it back on now. So the jar of soda lets in no light. It's like the person who hasn't followed Jesus. The jar of tonic water looks clear, but when we use the UV light, it glows really strong. This is the person who is following Jesus. First John 1, 5 through 7 says, this is the message we have heard from him and proclaimed to you that God is light and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus is done cleanses us from all sin. So when we're walking with God, we shine brightly. Maybe we say a little lie, or we see someone's being mischieved, mistreated, and we don't stand up or tell them to stop, or we sneak a little tablet time when we're supposed to be sleeping. When we make bad choices, we're still Christians. But if people see our sins, we're gonna lose influence for Christ. Our light won't look so bright. It can still shine brightly. So I'm gonna add some salt to this tonic water now. And Mr. Well, you can turn the light off one more time. Thank you. Now I'll turn the UV light on again. See the same tonic water that shines so brightly a second go? No, it's not making as big of an impact. Alright, I'm done with the lights now. You can turn them back on. Have a seat, Ms. Darling. You're a trooper. We can't go on sinning when we choose to follow God. Of course we're gonna make mistakes, but people are always watching. And we want to make sure that we're doing our absolute best to follow Jesus. We want those little sins to not harm our light. Our Christian light can't go dull.
SPEAKER_01It's a great reminder to flee from sin. Whenever we can. And the best way to flee from sin is to draw close to God. You know, the closer you get to him, the more powerful his Holy Spirit is going to be in you. Draw close to his word, draw close to his truth, be in communion with him, with prayer and all those things. And you'll find that those sins that used to be more attractive, that they they start to dull in comparison to the light of how awesome God is. And let that be your God. But you know, even in trials, we should draw near to Lord. So that's what we've been talking about this week in our Deep Thoughts verse. It says, Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial. For when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. So sometimes you're in a trial and it draws you closer to the Lord. And you become more dependent on him. And sometimes you can go through a trial and you can you can get bitter. And that's a dangerous path. And so, guess what God said? Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial. See, because he he knows that trials are going to happen in our lives, and it's a blessing to be steadfast in them. We talked about that yesterday. When trials come, it draws closer to the Lord and we know him more and we can learn to trust him more. Because in every trial I've faced in my life, I've drawn close to the Lord and He has always been there. It's not. But he has proven himself to be trustworthy. And he's seen me through every trial that I've faced. And I know that he will in the future. But there are times when when we can grow bitter. And so we have to guard our hearts against bitterness when we face a trial. Now we could pray to the Lord, Lord, help us not to be bitter, but draw us close to you. So let's pray to him. Heavenly Father. We know that we will face trials in this life. There's a lot of kids that are listening to this right now that they're going through a trial of one kind or another. So, Lord, protect our hearts from becoming bitter. But Lord, let us be like the man who's steadfast under trial. God, because we want to be those that have stood the test and received the crown of life. Because, Lord, we love you so much. But help us. Without your Holy Spirit, we will grow bitter and we will rebel with you. All things are possible. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. All right, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, history, English, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
