Enter The Void
It's our final theme of the season! Things are about the get a little (or a lot) weird as we go 'Through the Looking Glass'. We'll be watching films that delve into alternative realities, parallel worlds, or mirror universes—where the line between reality and fantasy is blurred.
First out of the rabbit hole is Gaspar Noé's Enter The Void from 2009. Starring nobody you've probably ever heard of, this film follows an American drug dealer living in Tokyo who is betrayed by his best friend and killed in a drug deal. His soul, observing the repercussions of his death, seeks resurrection. There's more to it than that and just a friendly warning this is anything but a family film. Oh, and if you are even remotely seizure prone stay far away.
The shake-up for this one was 'must include a musical number'. The movie must have at least one scene where characters break into song or a musical number plays a prominent role in the story. Not sure how much this pick fit here but rules are made to be broken, right?
