CTA Podcast
Critical Therapy Antidote was established in 2020 as a response to the rapid, uncontested and systemic encroachment of Critical Social Justice (CSJ) on the psychotherapy field. The purpose of its establishment was to provide a platform where those concerned about this ideological takeover can challenge these ideas in articles, share resources and find a network of likeminded professionals and laypersons. In March 2023, the CTA Podcast was launched by clinical psychologist, Jaco van Zyl, and marriage and family therapist, Christine Sefein-Wolk. The CTA Podcast aims to critically analyse the tenets of CSJ, to provide diverse alternatives to this ideology, and to reestablish the healing ethos of psychotherapy. Welcome to the CTA Podcast. We hope it will both stimulate and challenge you.

Dr. Nina Silander, PsyD, is a US-based clinical psychologist. Her concern with the ideological bias in psychology has motivated her to look into the effects of this bias on psychological research, professional roles and clinical practice.
In this episode Christine and Jaco interview Nina on her chapter in the book, Cynical Therapies - Perspectives on the Antitherapeutic Nature of Critical Social Justice. They discuss the politicisation of the therapy professions, the lack of viewpoint diversity in the American Psychological Association (APA), and the risks this pose to the profession as a whole and the wellbeing of people.
