CTA Podcast
Critical Therapy Antidote was established in 2020 as a response to the rapid, uncontested and systemic encroachment of Critical Social Justice (CSJ) on the psychotherapy field. The purpose of its establishment was to provide a platform where those concerned about this ideological takeover can challenge these ideas in articles, share resources and find a network of likeminded professionals and laypersons. In March 2023, the CTA Podcast was launched by clinical psychologist, Jaco van Zyl, and marriage and family therapist, Christine Sefein-Wolk. The CTA Podcast aims to critically analyse the tenets of CSJ, to provide diverse alternatives to this ideology, and to reestablish the healing ethos of psychotherapy. Welcome to the CTA Podcast. We hope it will both stimulate and challenge you.

Narcissistic large-group regression within Psychoanalysis | Prof. Jon Mills
Prof. Jon Mills is a Canadian philosopher, psychoanalyst, and clinical psychologist. He has been an outspoken critic against the troubling turn psychological and psychoanalytic organisations have made when they adopted the radically illiberal identitarian positions of Critical Social Justice.
Jaco and Jon discuss various problematic developments within prominent psychoanalytic organisations over the last few years, particularly the American Psychoanalytic Association and Division 39 of the American Psychological Association. These developments include the Donald Moss article, On Having Whiteness, Lara Sheehi's antisemitism, the Holmes Report and the lack of adequate leadership to prevent such extremism from festering. This discussion is psychoanalytically dense, so prepare for some psychobabble.
