CTA Podcast
Critical Therapy Antidote was established in 2020 as a response to the rapid, uncontested and systemic encroachment of Critical Social Justice (CSJ) on the psychotherapy field. The purpose of its establishment was to provide a platform where those concerned about this ideological takeover can challenge these ideas in articles, share resources and find a network of likeminded professionals and laypersons. In March 2023, the CTA Podcast was launched by clinical psychologist, Jaco van Zyl, and marriage and family therapist, Christine Sefein-Wolk. The CTA Podcast aims to critically analyse the tenets of CSJ, to provide diverse alternatives to this ideology, and to reestablish the healing ethos of psychotherapy. Welcome to the CTA Podcast. We hope it will both stimulate and challenge you.

On the state of Woke counselling training | with Lauren Holt
Laurent Holt is an accountant and adjunct educator. In 2020 she enrolled in a clinical mental health counselling programme at a university in the south east of the United States. What she experienced during her training was something she did not sign up for. In this episode we discuss Lauren's experiences, which are very similar to other students who have spoken out about Woke counselling training at US universities. We explore her experience of the dumbing-down of her counselling programme, the shallowness of multicultural studies, microaggressions, the partisan treatment of people based on their race, the fostering of hypersensitivity and a new hypermorality, her being the target of Woke abuse and scapegoating by an outrage mob.
