State Rep. Genevieve Mina (D - Anchorage): on mental health and her Filipino heritage
Lifelong Alaskan Representative Genevieve Mina was elected to the Alaska state house of representatives for the first time in the election held this past November. At just 26 years of age, she is the second youngest person currently serving in the legislature. But, she has seven years of political experience, much of it working in the legislature, the last few years as staff to Representative Ivy Spohnholz where Mina helped steer some of Rep. Spohnholz’s major health care bills. She is also the president of the Alaska Young Democrats. Genevieve is a Filipino-American, and only the second Filipino-American woman ever elected to the Alaska State House
