Hello world, this is I'm Know Podcast. Today is Thursday, March 19th, 2026. This is Foam Intellivision Podcast or talk about forums Intelvision. My name is Caleb Chase. What up?
SPEAKER_01Doing good, bro. How about you?
SPEAKER_00Doing fucking great. We're here to talk about the Oscars. And uh we're also here to talk about some trailers that came out the past few days for uh Dune 3 and for a Spider-Man brand new day. Before we get into that, Chase, how you been, man?
SPEAKER_01Been good, bro. It's been a man since we uh been on here. Done got uh done watched a few new things, so got a lot to talk about today. How about you, bro?
SPEAKER_00I'm doing fucking great. Let's talk about the Oscars. Um Chase Oscars this past Sunday. A lot of shit happened. Um one battle after another. One best picture and best director. Um, you know, centers got four wins out there, you know, best best best score, best set in photography, and then Ryan Kugler wins best original screenplay, and Michael B. Fucking Jordan wins best actor. Chase, what'd you think, man?
SPEAKER_01I salute. I feel like um the centers ones were well deserved. I'm glad Michael B. Jordan got uh best actor. I've been seeing um some mixed views on that one online, and honestly, I feel like uh people are sleeping on the fact that he played two different characters. Yes, they were twins, but like they both showed so much personality, so much different personality from each other. So like that I feel like was a masterclass in acting. So like well deserved. Um Coogler getting best writing, also well deserved. Salute to um Leo and everyone involved with um one battle after another. Glad that one did numbers too. So yeah, I feel like uh I'm not mad at the choices that ended up happening. I'll say that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, some other notable shit that happened. Um Amy Madigan, she wins Best Supporting Actress for a Weapons, you know, on Gladys. Um, and then also Oh, nice. Yeah, she she she won that. She beat she beat our girl uh Annie from Sinners, and uh she also beat Tayanna Taylor from uh one battle after another. So congrats to her. Um other notable stuff Oscar for a horror flick.
SPEAKER_01That's kind of fire.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I mean, yeah, then you can count the centers stuff too, because since centers is technically horror, yeah, true.
SPEAKER_01Um some other stuff I mean it's cooler, so like I'm expecting that one to do numbers anyway. That one could have just been a historical one, and it probably would have.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Um, then also K-pop demon hunters wins for best animated feature. Oh, yeah, and best song. They stole best song from Cinners, which you know that's crazy.
SPEAKER_01No, that's wild. But like K-pop Demon Hunters was popular as shit.
SPEAKER_00It's justified, it's justified. Yeah, like in any other year, I lied to you is an easy win. But to me, but to me, Golden is like a generational song, it just is. Um, so I can't be mad at it. Um, but still speaking of best animated feature, I find it hilarious that a movie. Um, I don't know if you've you're familiar with the movie um called Elio.
SPEAKER_01Um I've heard of it. I know it's uh it was Pixar, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was nominated for uh best anime feature. And like I'm sorry, bro, like no disrespect, but that's like one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Like really it's so bad. Like if we do our list of like worst animated movies, that's gonna be my number one worst one. That movie's that movie's terrible.
SPEAKER_01Um I know Pixar's had some misses over the years, but yeah, that's that's crazy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'll give them niggas credit though. We just me and the girls just seen uh Hoppers. Um that was a pr that was a really good Pixar movie.
SPEAKER_01Um I have heard good things about that one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that one that one was pretty good. So I'll give them respect for that. But I don't know how Elio got nominated. Like that that's one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Like, that was so bad.
SPEAKER_01I mean, having not seen it, I would just say like it's a Pixar flick. Like, if they're dropping something, it would have to be like a stacked uh a stacked deck full of animated features for it to not get nominated, no matter how bad or of a Pixar film it is. So like, yeah, I feel like you got in on the strength of that, but I'm gonna have to check it out.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01That would be uh if we did a Pixar ranking, because shit, they've got like 25 at this point, don't they?
SPEAKER_00There's a lot. There's a lot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, uh Pixar ranking, that could be a dope list.
SPEAKER_00We'll have to start, we'll have to start thinking about that list. Um, but as far as the Oscars, I'm I'm happy for Kugler. Um, it was pretty much a lock that he was gonna win, but I was still kind of skeptical about it because you know the Oscars they like to fuck over niggas. Um so I'm glad I'm I'm I'm glad Kugler at least got that. Um the Amy Madigan win, you're right, man. Like I hope horror starts getting more respect at these awards. Um because there's because there's a bunch of great horror performances that haven't got recognized. So I kind of hope this is like something where they start to get more love and respect. Um, I find it funny that um that uh Sean Penn he won for best supporting actor for uh one block or another, and um he he wasn't even at the Oscars, like he just decided not to go. Um yeah, um this is his third Oscar though, so he's probably just like I don't give a fuck. Um but I don't know, man. Like to me, he deserved to win. Like he was easily the best performance out of the nominees, but the fact that like he just doesn't like have any kind of respect for this process, I kind of would have liked to see someone like Stellan Skarsgard or Delroy Lindo win. Because those guys they seem to really like give a fuck about wanting to win. So I would have even though Sean Penn was better, I would have rather seen those guys win because they were actually there, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, honestly, shit. I wouldn't have been mad if they gave it to uh Benicio or uh Delroy. Yeah, Ellen.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Um, but if we're being honest, we gotta talk about this Michael B. Jordan thing. Um, it's insane. Um like shout out to him. Um, to me, he was always a guy I considered like a movie star and not a great actor. Um yeah, I get that. And I'm gonna be honest with you, like, Sinners changed my mind on that because he he was amazing in Sinners. Um like he gets a lot of hate online because people with this whole sinners thing, because people are saying that they can't recognize the difference between the twins. And to me, that's just completely to me. That's complete, that's complete bullshit. Cause like, maybe I've seen the movie too many times, but like the differences are like fucking obvious.
SPEAKER_01Um no, one is serious and about his bread, the other one's a people person and outgoing, like it's not that hard, y'all.
SPEAKER_00Like, and like look at the way other characters talk to each person, you can tell there's a difference, you know. Like the way Mary talks to Stack is completely different with how she talks to Smoke. Like, it's like Michael John, he did he deserves respect for that. Um, like he put in serious work, man. Like, from the wire to hardball to Friday night lights, like he's like he's been in the trenches for years, bruh. Like he's been like he's been doing this since he was a teenager. Um and him and Ryan both winning on the same night was amazing. So shout out to those guys. Yeah. But Michael, he deserved it, but I'm sorry, bro. Like Timmy fumbled, Timmy fumbled it, man. Like, yeah, Timmy fumbled it. Um, I don't think I've ever seen anyone fumble away an Oscar as bad as he did. Um, because to me, Marty Supreme comes out, and Marty, he's amazing at Marty Supreme. Um I still haven't seen it.
SPEAKER_01I don't need to change that.
SPEAKER_00You have to, but like he he he was the favorite after Marty Supreme came out. Like the narrative, it's his time, he's the next guy up. You know, he's getting crowned as the next the next dude. Um, and then he has that interview where we talked about this on the podcast, but he has the interview where he pretty much says that you know he's been putting out great performances for the last eight years and all this other crap. Um, and to me, I just think I just think people soured on him after that. Um, you know, the people that vote for the Oscars, it's an older group of people. And I I think seeing some cocky young kid come in, that they probably it probably rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
SPEAKER_01Um, it's very uh the Academy Awards reminds me of like um the football or the baseball hall of fame, you know? Like you could have like no serious allegations like drugs or off-the-field issues, but if you're not a good locker room person, yeah, they're probably not letting you in the first couple of years, you know? Like, ah, he's a headcaser. He was uh a bad egg, you know?
SPEAKER_00That's that's actually a great comparison because like I think Timmy is now on a Leo trajectory where where like they made Leo wait until he was in his 40s and they gave it and they gave it to him for a performance that was you know compared to his others, pretty mid. You know, like I like the revenant, yeah, but the fact that that's the movie he won an Oscar for is like in yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_01Um like not even top five Leo movies.
SPEAKER_00Probably not even probably not even top ten of our being. I mean, I have to go through the list, but yeah, I think Timmy's on that path now, man. Because to me, Martin Supreme was like a like to me, that was like a great performance. Like, I'm gonna be honest with you. If I had a vote, I would have voted for Timmy. I wouldn't have gave it to Michael B. Jordan. I think Timmy, I think Timmy deserved it. Um, but I'm not mad because you know, Synergy's my favorite movie, you know, and I love Michael B. Jordan. So I'm not sure I'm not mad about it. I just think Timmy was better and he deserved it. But I mean, you know, to me, like I just feel like if Timmy releases Marty Supreme and then he disappears for four months, I think he wins the Oscars in like a landslide. But the fact that he was doing all these interviews and he was just, you know, I think this is part of the marketing for the movie, but you know, you haven't seen Marty Supreme, but like in the movie, Marty Supreme was like a pretty like cocky and unlikable person. And uh I think I think Timmy was using that personality in interviews, and I think it kind of lost him the Oscar, if I'm being honest.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Sourda.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think I think I think it's sour a lot of people, and you know, he's he's he's young. I mean he's only he's only 30, and you know, for some reason they don't give they don't give males Oscars super young for some reason.
SPEAKER_01Um I mean you gotta go crazy for that shit, you know?
SPEAKER_00Like Yeah, I hell Michael B.
SPEAKER_01Jordan ain't as young as he used to be. Like that man's he's definitely older than us. Shit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's he's almost 40. He's he's he's almost 40. Okay, he's like 38, 39, something like that. Um shout out to him though. He he deserved it, man. Like he he put in work. Hell yeah. I'm I'm I'm happy for him. Like, I'm curious to see what what he's gonna, you know. I know he's doing the Miami Vice movie next with uh Austin Butler. Um yeah, I heard about that, which I'm looking forward to. And I actually saw that a rumor just came out today that uh Tom Cruise is rumored to be the villain of that movie, which would be amazing. Yeah, yeah. That'd be amazing.
SPEAKER_01Um no, amazing cast off bat.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, have you ever seen Collateral?
SPEAKER_01I don't think so.
SPEAKER_00You need you need to watch Collateral. It's it's a movie where uh Tom Cruise he plays a he plays a villain. He he plays a uh uh he plays a hitman. Um okay. Yeah, and uh he spends he spends the entire movie in a in a cab with uh Jamie Foxx. It's a it's a really it's a really good movie.
SPEAKER_01Oh yes. Yeah I've seen clips from it, but yeah, I haven't actually watched it.
SPEAKER_00But uh Yeah, yeah. It was it was it was when Cruz had the blonde hair. I don't know if you've probably you've probably seen it. Yeah, that that's like he can he can play a villain, like he can he can do it. Um okay, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01I need to uh step my Tom Cruise uh movie knowledge up.
SPEAKER_00Like do do the older ones, don't worry about Mission Impossible.
SPEAKER_01I mean Yeah, I was gonna say I'm not like super interested in watching those. Uh if you're gonna watch like a rivalry or anything, but I'm a James Bond guy.
SPEAKER_00If I'm watching Spot Flicks, if you're gonna watch if you're gonna watch when I say watch watch uh Mission Impossible or Fallout, um that's the one with uh Henry Cavill. I'm pretty sure you I'm pretty sure you've been online though. You've you you you've probably seen the uh the uh iconic scene with them uh fighting in the bathroom. Um but uh or or or maybe you haven't. Um but there's an iconic scene of them fighting it, but yeah, Mission Impossible Fallout's really great, but uh the last two were pretty bad. Um and I've and obviously stuff like Top Gun.
SPEAKER_01I mean that's gonna say I've seen uh the OG Top Gun, fucking um Vanilla Sky. That was him one.
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah. Yep. Yep. Uh yeah, there's a bunch of them. Alright, um, but uh, you know, that's the Oscars. Shout out to Sinners. One bell after another, they uh you know they put in work.
SPEAKER_01Um also shout out to um Frankenstein. They won a couple as well.
SPEAKER_00I hate Frankenstein. That movie, I hate that movie. That movie that movie sucks. Um it did deserve it it I just thought it was boring as hell. Um it did it it did deserve the shit that it won though. Like it won a bunch of like technical stuff like costumes and production design, like it it deserved that stuff. I'll give him credit for that. Um uh but yeah, I wasn't I wasn't I wasn't big on Frankenstein.
SPEAKER_01Um but uh each their own.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I just like how they were uh it was really just like story time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I was at this point, Frankenstein ended up not killing uh buddy, but shit. It is what it is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yep. All right, now Chase, let's move on to these trailers. You know, on Tuesday we get the Doom 3 trailer. Um, I find it interesting that that trailer drops right after Timmy loses the Oscar. I wonder if that was like done on purpose. Um I don't know, or maybe it was planned, I don't know. Um, and then we get then we get Spider-Man brand new day on um on Wednesday. All right, Chase, let's start with Doom 3. Um, I'll go first. Um, this is just a great trailer. Like, like Denny movies, his movies are always gonna look good. Like this, like like this trailer is beautiful, like like all the Dune movies. You know, they look good, they sound good, a cinematic experience. Yeah, always have a great cast. It got me excited for the movie, and like I like and respect the Dune movies, but like, like honestly, though, like they're just not fully my thing. Um, you know, I'm not I'm not crazy in a sci-fi. Um but like the trailer, it did get me excited for the movie, though, you know, like or adding Robert Pattinson. I mean, speaking of blonde, he's got blonde hair in this movie. Um, I don't know if I don't know if he's a villain. I don't really I don't really know the Dune lore like that. Um, but um I'm excited for this movie. I'm curious about um how's Jason Momoa coming back? It's like didn't that nigga die? Um but um but yeah, it it looks good. Um what do you what did you think of this trailer?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, man, it looks interesting. Um kind of disappointed because from my understanding, I haven't read the Dune books, but I have a few friends who swear by that series. There is like more than three books. So I don't know if they're just gonna like cram a bunch of stuff into this story or into this last one because it's just gonna be a trilogy from the looks of it. But nah, it looks crisp. Um looking forward to the cast. I'm guessing we're gonna get um some more screen time for Zendaya because I feel like she really didn't get her. She got uh more chance to shine than the last one, but even still, like her screen time was very limited. So yeah, her as the wife and now mother of what looks to like to be uh the next hero. Yeah, I want to see uh more Zendaya on screen, but also yeah, this one looks like it's gonna be the most action-packed out of all of them. We even have like a fucking war going on. So very looking forward to uh that. I feel like Denny's gonna put together some fire scenes with a big climactic battle towards the end.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, man, I agree.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like um the way they promote the movies, bro. You think she's fucking uh Hermione and Harry Potter, you know? Like nah. She got like maybe 20 minutes of screen time in the second movie, and that was a big improvement over the first movie.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I feel like when it comes to promoting, I feel like they have to do that because she's just like like she's like she's a star, you know. Like outside of like outside of Timmy, I mean she's she's like the biggest person in these movies. Um I I I understand why they do that.
SPEAKER_01Um even still, like just write her in a little bit more, give her a couple more scenes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I agree. Yeah, I agree. Um she has a uh she has a uh big year coming up, though. You know, she's got she's got the she's got uh Dune 3, she's got the Odyssey, she's got Spider-Man, um, and then she also has a movie coming out in a few weeks with Robert Pattinson uh called the the called the drama. So like she has a big year coming up. Um yeah, um but all right, let me ask you this though. Like this movie's coming out the same day as Avengers Doomsday. Do you think one of those should move? Or do you think this should be another Barbenheimer?
SPEAKER_01I feel like it's gonna be a Barbenheimer situation. They're both like popular enough franchises that I don't think it'll hurt each other's numbers. Also, like it being the holiday season, motherfuckers are gonna watch that shit back to back. I don't know that I'll do it because both the movies are gonna be long as hell, but I'm I'm willing to bet some people are gonna be spending their holiday season doing a movie day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, man. I don't know, man. I mean I think I feel like neither one wants to move because they don't want to be perceived as like you know, they're being they're they're scared of the other one.
SPEAKER_01Um now if we're like a game of chicken, you don't want to be the one that moves.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, now now now we're just talking money. I mean, obviously doomsday is gonna win that battle. I mean, it's just yeah, it's just it's just one of those things, you know.
SPEAKER_01Um I don't know, is it? Yes, it's gonna be the biggest, uh it's gonna be the next Avengers movie, but I don't know. People's faith in Marvel has been sliding.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but this is this is this is one of those things, man. Like, this is when when when the big dogs come, we're gonna talk about this with Spider-Man, but like when the big dogs come out, you know, shit's still gonna shit's still gonna pop off. You know, Deadpool and Wolverine. You know, like this is this movie's gonna be Deadpool and Wolverine times like 30, you know. Um so yeah, it's gonna it's gonna do its thing. Now, I don't think it's gonna touch like Infinity War in game numbers, um, but I think this is clearly gonna top a Billy. Um but with that being said, though, I'm pretty sure I read that um Doom 3 is gonna get all the IMAX screens. So like I don't really yeah, I don't really know how much Marvel cares about that because like Marvel's not really like an IMAX experience compared to some other type of movies. But if they if they really care about it, I mean maybe maybe Doomsday will move.
SPEAKER_01That's crazy. I've never uh I didn't know that was a thing. Like just uh yeah, this movie is that big, it's uh it's got dibs. Especially with another big franchise dropping the same day or same weekend.
SPEAKER_00I think I think it's one of those things where it's like um Dune had that date first. So I guess they had the date first. Um, but I mean it's like that for some other things too, like like like like with the Odyssey. I mean Nolan, he was really the first guy to use IMAX, so he kind of I don't I think I think he has some type of like ownership in IMAX to where whenever his movie comes out, they're just guaranteed the IMAX screens. Because like uh the Spider Man comes out two weeks after the Odyssey, and for Spider Man's first week, that won't get any IMAX screens either because of the Odyssey.
SPEAKER_01Um Damn, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So I I don't know. Um I'll just say this though if do if Dune 3 wants to make some real money, they they should probably. Move because they're not gonna like I'm sorry, I know people want to talk about comic book movie fatigue, but the Avengers are like a whole different animal.
SPEAKER_01No, that's real.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, all right. Speaking of the Avengers, let's talk Spider-Man Chase. Um Spider-Man brand new day, Tom Holland's back for the fourth time. Um, this is an interesting trailer. Um, what'd you think?
SPEAKER_01I don't know if this is a hot take, but I think this has the potential to be the best Tom Holland Spider-Man movie. Like, it looks like we're gonna be getting a bit more um a bit more grounded, back to earth. We fighting regular villains again, not just uh intergalactic shit, interdimensional shit. This man's going back to being your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. And it looks like he's got he's gonna be going through some uh some growing pains, you know? Like his friends don't remember him, no one remembers him really. And he's also having issues with his powers. So, like, yeah, there's there's a lot of interesting storylines to work with here, and I'm highly looking forward to it from what we've seen. We got uh Professor Hulk in this bitch. Looks like uh Gene Gray may be involved somewhere. We're getting our first X-Men uh introduction into the Marvel MCU at large. So yeah, no, this is looking like it's gonna be a banger.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's not a hot take to say that. Um, what you said about best Tom Han Spider Man movie. I wouldn't be a hot take. To me, it wouldn't at least. I mean, I know a lot of people ride for No Way Home. I mean, No Way Home sucks. Um, I'll die on the hill, no way home is not good, it's not a good movie. Um, but honestly, to me, this has potentially be the best Spider-Man movie. Um and I say that because this trailer reminded me of a bunch of other versions of Spider-Man. Um like this thing has shades of like Spider-Man 2. Well, actually, I'll say Spider-Man 3, because if you remember Spider-Man 3, Peter, you know, when he first got the symbiote, he went to go visit Dr. Connors. Um, that's that's literally what Peter does in this movie. Obviously, it's not the symbiote, it's about him like mutating, he's turning into man spider. I don't know if you remember man spider from the uh cartoons, um or he where he was turning into an actual spider. Um it seems like that's happening to Tom Holland in this movie, which is interesting to me because we've never we never actually seen him get bit by the spider, so we don't that's true, yeah. So like we don't really know what type of mutation he has compared to you know the other spider. I mean, obviously I I obviously Toby had the organic webs, which I think that that's gonna be.
SPEAKER_01I prefer that. Like, that's the Spider-Man I like. And I'm hoping that's uh where Tom ends up being.
SPEAKER_00You see, I I don't prefer that only because like it's not it's not canon, you know. I mean, it obviously got like retcon later, but I don't know, it just it just doesn't I don't know, it's just not what I was used to. Um I obviously Toby was the first movie, so that's what a lot of people thought was, you know. I mean, who knows? Who knows?
SPEAKER_01It just feels more uh it just adds layers to the mutation, you know? Like, yes, uh Peter Parker is smart as shit, and he has connections with uh Tony Stark and other geniuses in uh the Marvel universe. But uh yeah, you're not always gonna be in position to be um building, creating the webs, you know? Or like you know, sometimes you're in a fight and you run out. If he just naturally is producing them himself, you ain't gotta worry about that.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you do when it likes it's not working though. Like we saw that happen with Toby and Spider-Man 2, where it just randomly just stopped working.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_00I mean, who knows? But and honestly, though, I don't think this is gonna be like the new thing. Like, I think this is just gonna be like a one-movie thing. Um, like there's a part of me that thinks that they did this just to add Bruce uh Banner into the movie. Um, like a lot of you know, like a plot point, like a reason to put him in the movie. Um I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Hopefully, uh his plot point goes over better than Doctor Strange's did.
SPEAKER_00I hope so. I hope so. Um, but we got a lot of villains in this trailer. Uh, we've seen Scorpion for the first time since Homecoming. We also saw we also saw um Tarantula, we saw um Boomerang, um, and we heard the voice of uh who I believe is uh Tombstone, who's gonna be Tombstone. Um there's a lot of villains in this movie. Um are you excited to see any of these guys?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Scorpion looks good from uh I think his uh suit, his costume or whatever is upgraded a bit. Uh seeing Tombstone in live action will be dope. I have not seen him yet. So yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm ex I'm excited for it. I don't oh we we also saw the hand. Haven't seen them since Daredevil season two. Um that was dope. I'm sure that's gonna be a crazy fight. Um yeah. So that was dope. Um, and then like the Sadie Sink thing, like I don't know who she's playing. There's a clip in the trailer where we see her, like there's a hooded person with her hands up like that. Um yeah, that was Sadie Sink. She's the one people are saying is Gene Gray. Like, I don't the Gene Gray thing just doesn't make sense to me. Like, why would you introduce that why are we introducing the new X-Men in a spot? Like, I don't I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Like, I have no idea how he's also viewed as a mutant in some comics, so I don't know. I'm not sure uh if they catch wind of him or what, but yeah, I'm wondering how they're gonna fit that connection in if that is actually Gene Gray.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's super weird. Um, so yeah, I I don't know. I'm curious about that. And then also finally, um, the Punisher, the part of the Punisher we saw was pretty funny. Oh, yeah. Um, I thought I thought it was whenever he webbed up Punisher's mouth before Punisher could say fuck. I just thought that was funny because like one of my things with Punisher being in this movie is how are they gonna keep him being himself when you know this is gonna be a PG 13 movie? Right, you know, and uh yeah, he webbed up his mouth. That was pretty funny.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and also um before he even gets him out the truck and shit, the move he used on him in traffic, like that's straight out the video game. Like that shit was very clean.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and then also like I thought it was interesting that like like like oh these niggas already know each other, like so we don't have to go through the whole them getting to know each other, like Spider-Man knows who the punisher is, at least it seems that way.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, yeah, they're they've got some familiarity, just being New Yorkers.
SPEAKER_00Yep, so does that raise your excitement level for this movie, though, Chase? You excited for Spider-Man?
SPEAKER_01Oh, hell yeah. Like I said, like this has the potential to be the best Tom Holland Spider-Man, and as you said, might just be the best Spider-Man overall. So, like, highly anticipating this one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm gonna be honest with you. I think Tom's putting himself in a position to be the best Spider-Man. Um, because he's thinking about this is his fourth movie. I mean, I mean, this is his seventh movie total. If you count Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame, like I just I just think we're to the point now where like he's just been doing it for so long, you know, he's gonna be eventually he's gonna be known as the Spider-Man, you know. Like if I switch it to it like comparing it to like sports, you know, like for a long time a guy like a guy like Joe Montana was considered the best quarterback ever, but you know, but you know, he he played like 12 years, you know, and Tom Brady played 20 years. It's it's just gonna be hard. It's just gonna be hard for you to still be regarded the goat where the other guy just has been doing it for way longer, you know. It's crazy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and still like uh drawing numbers, like say what you want about the first three Tom Holland movies. They still succeeded at the box office.
SPEAKER_00So like, yeah, the numbers he's also had the advantage of like being in like the MCU era. So I mean that that's sort of that's true. That definitely helps. Yeah, that definitely helps, but um, but he he's definitely putting himself in position, and you know, I strike Tom Holland though, like he's gotten swole, like he looked like like the scene where he's dangling out his window, like my guy's getting buff.
SPEAKER_01Been putting in that work, yeah.
SPEAKER_00He doesn't he doesn't look like a kid anymore. I mean, he in the face he still does, but he he's he's at least growing up a little bit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Spider-Man in college now.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Uh before we go, the what you think about the Ned and MJ thing. Do you like that he's still trying to bring this whole thing back?
SPEAKER_01I mean, yeah. They're that's the homies. That's his squad. I don't know how the hell he um like breaks the spell, or if he just hits the reset button and acts like he's beating them for the first time. Like, I don't know how he's gonna play that off. That's gonna be very interesting. But yeah, no, I'm glad that uh we still got Ned and MJ.
SPEAKER_00I think I think it's one of those things to where he's just gonna try to reintroduce himself to them. Um But I'm gonna be honest though, man. I kinda I kind of wanted to get like a new love interest.
SPEAKER_01Um get our Gwen Stacy.
SPEAKER_00Gwen Stacy, I'll take I'll take I'll take like a uh get get get get fucking Felicia in there, get Black Cat in there. Um I'll take that. I don't know, bro. I just like I don't really know where they can go with uh a Spider-Man and MJ thing anymore. Cause it's like, are we gonna are we just gonna start over to where like he introduces himself to her as Peter Parker and then he eventually has to tell her that he's Spider-Man? Like, are we gonna go through that again? You know, like story-wise, I just don't know how much farther they can go with that. But I mean, with Tommins and Deia being together in real life, you know, I'm sure he I'm sure he's always just gonna want MJ to be around.
SPEAKER_01Oh, a thought just occurred to me. If Gene Gray is involved, she does manipulate and mess with minds and memories.
SPEAKER_00And we did see a little bit, we did see a little bit of that in the trailer.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You opened up the tank and there was like that old lady that came out. I was I was weird.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that and um I don't know where they were at, but like you see the guys on like different levels, like they all like freeze up and like their head like tilts back and shit. Yeah. That that looked like some uh some psycho uh some telekinesis or whatever at play. Yeah, so maybe that's how we get MJ and Ned back to remembering who Spidey is.
SPEAKER_00That would be pretty cool. Um last thing on the last thing on the Gene Gray thing, though, man. Like, they obviously won't do that in this movie, but whenever they reboot the X-Men, like please leave the Phoenix stuff alone. Because they've Fox did the Phoenix stuff twice and it sucked both times. Like, just leave the Phoenix stuff alone, just leave the Phoenix alone.
SPEAKER_01Or like shit, build up to it better. Like, let this be like uh Ultron level thread, you know? Like, build this up over like the course of four or five movies before we actually do a Phoenix thing.
SPEAKER_00Let time pass, bro. Like, we don't need young Gene Grey doing the Phoenix, like let her let her age and get more older.
SPEAKER_01Right, because yeah, no, the Phoenix, that should be like endgame type of villain, you know? Yep. So let's face some of the regular X-Men big bads, get a couple arcs going before we get to that, if they get to that.
SPEAKER_00Yep, yeah, for sure. All right, that's all we got here for today on the I'm the podcast. Me and Chase will be back next week. Next week we got Daredevil. Um, Invincible is also out now. We're gonna start talking about Invincible next week as well as Daredevil Born Again season two. Chase, have a good one. I'll see you later.
SPEAKER_01You too. Later, bruh.
