Hello world, this is the I'm the podcast. Today is Tuesday, March 24th, 2026. This is a film intelligence podcast where we talk about Fred Film Intellivision. My name is Caleb. Uh no chase today. Uh he's busy with some dungeons and dragon nerd shit he's got going on right now. So it's just me. Um Daredevil Born Again, season two, episode one. Ready to get into that. Um what else we got going on? Um, we also got invincible. Next week, me and Chase are gonna start diving into Invincible. He's seen some of it. I haven't watched none of it yet. I need to get caught up. Um, but yeah, we're here to talk about um Daredevil season two, episode one. Uh Daredevil, one of my favorite heroes since I started watching the show a few years ago. And I'm just locked in. Like, this is a top five. To me, this is actually number one Marvel show for me. Um, it's fucking amazing. And uh yeah, I'm curious to see where they go with uh this next season. So let's get right into it. Um season two pretty much starts off where season one ended. Season one ended with you know the anti-vigilante task force, you know, all vigilantes are wanted. Um, you know, we've seen Punisher get captured. He obviously got out of it. Um Swordsman got captured. What other I can't remember what other vigilantes, but but um, yeah, Matt's not captured yet. Um Matt and Karen, they're wanted criminals, so they're they're in hiding, they're hiding out at Frank's old place. I'm just getting into it. Um, first off, great fight sequence to open up on the boat. Like Matt, he's he's in his bag. You know, I just start I just started laughing, bro, because he wanted all the smoke. Like he was he was fucking them niggas up on that boat. Um honestly, I'll get to it later, but it reminded me of season one, um, Daredevil. Like, to me, the fighting choreography in the first episode, it was so good. Uh, so fucking great. Like he's he's on his shit, like he's locked in. He's fucking locked in. Um, you know, it was a it was a boat that's supposed to have like some pers a bunch of weapons, and you know, Maddie sunk the ship, you know, Fisk. Not happy about it. Um but yeah. Alright, I'm just gonna get into some shit that I noticed. All right. Matt and Karen, I don't I don't know time-wise how long this has been going on as far as when season one ended to season two. I don't know if it's like immediate, or like some weeks or months went by, but you know, they're clearly doing their thing. I don't know if they're like dating or whatever. I mean, they're clearly fucking, I mean, look pretty intimate to me. Um, so yeah, I mean, that's cool. I'm I'm glad Karen's back though. Like she was her and Foggy made the first three seasons. And to me, I like season one of Born Again, but it was missing them. It just was because like the Kirsten and Cherry thing, just it just doesn't work for me. And I mean, I'll get to those characters a little bit later. Um, but I'm I'm glad Karen's back. You know, her and Matt dating or whatever, like I don't know, like they're like she knows he's daredevil, and you know, they're working together doing their thing, so I don't really see that being like a big issue. So I'm like it's cool with me, you know what I mean. Um so yeah, I don't I don't know if they're dating or her, but you know, I uh it's cool. I got no issues with it. Um, especially with like the whole Heather situation. Um actually let's talk about Heather. You know, she was hired by Fisk to I don't I don't know what her deal is. She's like interviewing vigilantes, you know, giving them some type of you know psyche vow or whatever. She's interviewing the swordsman, and it's like she starts having visions of like muse. Um and to me, I thought that was weird because at first I'm kind of just like, you know, she's having like nightmares about it, but then later on she like hears the voices in her head. And I don't know, bruh. To me, that it didn't sound like a nightmare thing. It kind of it kind of sounded like this was like something like she was wanting or like looking for. I don't know, like she gets like some kind of thrill out of it. I mean, I could be misreading that. I don't I don't know. I don't really I didn't really like Heather. I feel like the whole relationship in season one was forced, not forced, but like rushed. Um and then also like her switching sides on that, like that was crazy. Like she obviously didn't know he was daredevil, but but still, I'm like, come on, bruh. Um but either way that makes sense because he can't be dating her and Karen. So like I'm cool with it from that perspective. Um, you know, it makes sense. Alright, um, the anti-vision task force I don't I'm not gonna I don't know. I don't want to flag as like a red flag yet, but I don't know, man. These shows equating stuff to like real life politics, it's like superhero stuff for all. I don't know. It's it's it's getting it's getting eerie, bruh. Like anti-Wissi Task Force, you know, them and ice similarities are crazy. Like them just rushing in, dragging motherfuckers out, you know, these motherfuckers going to the Mexican restaurant, fucking assaulting the lady and going to get the fucking Hispanic dude from the back. Man, that's tough, bro. I can't lie. That's tough. Maybe it's just a coincidence with that. That was tough. That was tough. It just feels like real life, you know, and uh I mean it sucks if that's real life right now. Um, but yeah, that was that was tough. And I don't know the actor's name or what his whose character is, but like the lead anti-weaseline task for this guy, like he has such a punchable face, and he's just he's just a fucking dick. Like he's just a fucking he's just he's a fucking bitch, bro. You know, like he goes in the restaurant, he punches that lady, and then he goes and gets the guy from the back and just beats him. Like, I I need him to catch a bullet, bro. Like, obviously Matt won't do it, but I need him to die in like the most painful, like fuck him, man. I hate him so much. Um, he didn't die in season one. Is he in that period? I don't know. But I I I need him to catch a bullet because he's he's such a fucking dickhead. Um but yeah, the Ann I was an attachment. That's that's that's tough, bro. I can't lie, it's tough. All right, um, BB and Karen, this is interesting. Um, you know, BB, she's obviously Ben Yurik's niece or whatever. And you know, in season one, you know, Ben Yurik and Karen there working together to uh you know incriminate Fisk, which they did. Um, and obviously, you know, Ben Yurik had to die because of it. Um, and Karen and BB they meet each other, and pretty much, you know, she pretty much I wasn't, you know, your uncle died because of me. Um BB she was kind of I don't know, but she was kind of taken aback by it, like she didn't exactly know. Um and can't I did like Karen pretty much telling her, like, look, you know, working with a guy, it's it's not ideal given what's uh been going on and whatnot, you know. Um so yeah, I I don't know. Shit is shit is wild, you know, shit is fucking wild. Um but yeah, we'll see where it goes. It was just interesting seeing those two talk and you know share that moment together. You know what I mean? Um so yeah, that was that was pretty good. Um I don't really know what's gonna happen with BB. Like her and her and the Daniel character are really close, so I don't like I don't I don't really know where that's gonna go, honestly. Um but I'm I'm curious to see what happens with it. Um Cherry and Kirsten. You know, I don't know, Cherry, he's the way he talks in the show, he's like older, he's retired, which I don't really get why he's here, to be completely honest with you. Um like he doesn't he doesn't really wanna he doesn't want Matt being Daredevil, he doesn't want to help with this whole stuff. So it's like why is he even here? Then obviously we see in the final scene, um you know, the anti-vision attachment pulls up on. They know he's working with Matt and Karen. They they assault him. You know, Matt pops in, sucks these dudes up, and then you know, Matt, he notices, you know, the heartbeats kind of slowing down. A la foggy type situation. You know, Matt gets distracted. The other anti-Veason guys, they come and they beat up Matt. They got him pinned on the ground, and then all of a sudden we see about six or seven bullets get popped up in there, and then there's a knife that gets thrown in that says you're welcome. Um I haven't watched Jessica Jones, but I'm just gonna say that's her. I mean, I don't like I said, I don't I didn't watch Jessica Jones, so I don't know. I don't really know who else is gonna be. It's obviously not Frank. Frank would have pulled up in there talking shit. Um, you know, I'm pretty sure Frank's not supposed to be in this season. Um, I think it was Jessica Jones. I don't know though. It's hard to say. Either way, Cherry, I don't like it it it seems like he's gonna die. That's what I would assume is going to happen. Um but yeah, I don't know. I just don't really care for the character. Like, I mean, shout out to that uh actor. I think his name's is it Clark Johnson, someone like that. Shout out to him using the wire season five. Like, shout out to him. Um, but but I just I just don't I just don't care for like I don't I don't know what he's here for. Like, is he supposed to be here to like give Matt advice, but also he's like he he's like Matt's spiritual guy to give him advice, but he's also like is he the new father Lanton, which to me it it just doesn't work, honestly, it just doesn't work. Um because he doesn't want Matt doing this. He's constantly talking Matt out of it. So like I don't know, it it doesn't really make sense to be completely honest with you. Um and I hope he doesn't die. Um but I also I would probably like it better if his characters just wasn't in the picture because he's just he's just not doing a whole lot for me, to be completely honest with you. Um Fisk. You know, him and him and Vanessa, they're trying, they're doing their thing with the ports, which I don't really completely understand what they're doing with it, but they're bringing in a bunch of drugs and weapons and stuff through the ports. You know, Matt sunk their first thing that came in, but it's clearly something they're gonna continue doing. Um Matthew Lillard popped up in here. Shout out to Matthew Lillard between uh Daredevil Born Again Season 2 and Crawl Season 2. He's he's he's cooking, he's out here working, doing his thing. Um But I don't really know like his character seems like someone who wants to like help them as far as getting stuff in, but like I don't know. A lot of he's like very secretive, so it's hard for me to really know what's up with that character. Um and I'm pretty sure he's like an original character, so I don't really last, I don't really know. But so far, episode one, I really fucked with it. I really loved, like I said, I I love this show. Um I love Daredevil, and I just think I just feel like this feels more I don't say connected, but it just feels like more in tune. Um with nothing I I don't I don't really know it's anything bad CGI, but like I said, like to me, see this reminding me of season one Daredevil just from like the fighting choreography. Like like we didn't get the hallway fight or anything like that, but just like everything just seems so crisp and and perfect. Um and to me, this is the best to me, Matt's look since season one Daredevil, the original. Um and yeah, I just hope it continues. You know, the defenders are supposedly all coming back, so hopefully we get some pretty good fighting stuff, some pretty good storylines. And uh yeah, I'm really I'm really looking forward to it. Um, but yeah, that's all we got for you today here on the I'm no podcast. Um, me and Jesse will be back next week to talk about Data We're Born Again, and then also we are going to talk about Invincible. And hopefully by the time I I'm I've seen uh Project Hail Mary, we can also talk about that. But yeah, this is I'm a podcast. My name is Caleb. Follow me on Letterboxd at lipscomb forever. I am old.
