Hello well, this is I'm no podcast. Today is Wednesday, April 8th, 2026. This is from the television podcast, or talk preferred from the television. My name is Caleb. No Chase today. I'm going to talk about uh Daredevil season two, episode four. And I also want to talk about this uh doomsday whole situation that's uh going on. Um we're gonna talk about both of those. Chase isn't here today, he just started a new job, so we're trying to trying to work out how we're gonna schedule these things. Um but chase will be back next week. We're gonna talk about the boys. I started watching season uh five, episode one of the boys this morning, but I haven't I haven't got through it all. But I'm excited to talk about that with Chase next week. Um But yeah, let's get right into it. Let's talk about Daredevil Season 2, episode 4. Oh, there's a bullseye episode. Uh so I was locked in. Um, but this episode opens up with bullseye in his apartment. Um, he goes to a diner. Um he pretty much draws out the task force by saying that Frank Castle is at the diner and that he has a gun. Um the task shows up, he he slaughters them all. Um it's an it's an amazing action sequence where he kills all these guys with a bunch of different type of utensils. Um fast forward to the episode, you know, Matt he finds Dex and you know, they fight in Dex's apartment. Matt pretty much tells him he doesn't want him to kill Fisk. Um Dex is like, I'm gonna do it. Um Dex, I mean Fisk Fisk has this um fight um this uh boxing match. Um Dex shows up, he kills all these task force guys, and uh yeah, Dex he ends up throwing a piece of glass towards Vanessa. Fisk like dodges it and um yeah, in the process, a shard of glass hits Vanessa right in the side of her face. Uh she's breeding profusely. You know, Matt, he chases Dex out of there, and that's the end of the episode. Um, all right, so this is my favorite episode so far. Um, it's interesting that my two favorite episodes are with Dex. Um first one was in season one, episode eight, where if you remember Matt, he allows Dex to break out of prison. You know, Dex, he shows up at the ball and he tries to shoot Fisk. Um, Matt jumps in and takes the bullet form. Um and then you have this episode. Um, I just love Dex. Uh to me, he's an interesting character because he was created by Fisk. Um, you know, like Fisk created this monster, and now this monster is trying to kill his creator. Um, and that's like really interesting shit. And like it's interesting, but it's also just that Dex is just cool as hell as a character. Um being able to use anything to kill someone is it's crazy, and it's also like really fucking cool. Um, and the show's like really creative with it. You know, like just in this episode in the diner, you know, we see Dex kill a guy with a toothpick, use a knife, uses a spoon, uses a fork, he used a fucking, I think it was like a crab or a lobster. Um then at his apartment he uses a CD and tries to kill Matt, which obviously if that was anyone else, he would have killed him, but you know, Matt's Matt's good with dodging that shit. Um, but yeah, Dex, he's he's just really cool. Um, he's my favorite Marvel villain, and like outside of the Joker, he's my favorite comic book villain. Um like he's he's really good in this show. Like I remember Bulls I from the original Jadel movie, you know, played by my guy Colin Farrell. And like I don't know, that movie was just a little too goofy. Uh, I think if they remade that comfort I would have put up a better performance as Dex, but uh but Wilson Bethel is Dex is he's he's amazing. Um but it's funny though because this season he's not really a villain, like he's on Matt's side, at least he's trying to convince Matt that he's on his side. Um we do see him get shot in this episode, and like I hope he's not dead. I don't think he's dead because we saw him like walk it off. Um But yeah, like I like this as a show, but it just jumps up to a bigger level when he's involved. Um, like honestly, I find him more interesting than Matt and Fisk. Um, all right, Matt in this episode, you know, he's still trying to take down the task force. You know, we see him and Karen say they love each other. I thought that was interesting because I don't really know how I feel about it. Like, they're in the middle of stopping this war and they're just like in love. Like, when did that happen? Um, I just feel like it's not the best time for it. But also, when you think about it, like they really only have each other, so it makes sense. You know, Karen she leaves and goes to San Fran and she comes back. So it I mean, you know, it make it does, I guess it does make sense. Um, although Matt is kind of pissing me off this season, like he's really starting to feel like Batman. You know, like there's a lot of similarities between the two. Um, but man, Matt, he just pisses me off with like not wanting to kill Fisk shit. Like, like to me, Dado and Fisk, bro, it's really starting to remind me of Batman and the Joker. Like, this guy Fisk is destroying the city, and it's like no matter what you do, it'll keep happening. You know, going through the law, it like works, but that's like a short-term plan. With Matt being a lawyer, obviously he's always wanting to go through the law. And like with Fisk, it's like eventually he'll get out and start over again. And it's like the same with the Joker. Like, he kills a bunch of people, he calls all this chaos in the city, and he always gets out, and more people will always get murdered for it. And Batman's just like, I'll just keep with throw him in throwing him in Arkham. And it's like, but that doesn't really work, you know? Um, but yeah, Karen, he wants to kill Fisk. Dex, he wants to kill Fisk. And Matt's like, nah, we gotta do this the right way. But it doesn't make sense though, because Matt does tell Dex that like I don't want to make him a martyr, which makes sense because like if Matt kills Fisk, if Matter Dex kills Fisk, then it'll be like, Oh, Fisk was right about vigilantes. So it's like, yeah, we can't we can't do that. Um it's just frustrating at times. But then again, it's not because like yeah, if they just kill Fisk, like then the show would just suck. You know, also kind of like in the dark night, like you just kill the Joker, then the movie would suck. Um so yeah, he's needed. He's needed. Even though from a story perspective, it just feels like we're just going in circles with this or that. You know, like my guess is that the end of the season task force will get shut down, Fisk will be in prison, and then the beginning of next season he'll be back out doing his thing. Um so yeah, I mean we'll see what happens. Um, Vanessa, you know, is she dead? I'm gonna say she's not dead. Like for me, I just gotta see it to believe it. Um my guess is that she's like in a coma and she's just sidelined for the rest of the season. I mean, but maybe she's dead. I don't I don't know. Um it's like the final destination thing though, to where it's like you can cheat death for so long, but eventually it comes back to you. And it's like, yeah, Dex never misses unless it's Matt. Um so even though he didn't get a direct hit with the shard of glass he threw him, but I mean it it it it got to her. So I mean it worked, you know? It wasn't the original, but it worked. Um outcome of her dying, her being sidelined, like this is a long shot. This will be like a hot take, but like I think we find out that she's pregnant. Um it's just a hunch. Cause I kind of feel like something has to happen with him. Like we need something added to happen. Like, if she's not dead, we just need something to happen. Like, I I don't think you can just do the continuous same old crap where it's just you know them two controlling the city together. Like if she's gonna get sidelined, I think her being pregnant would be the best way to go about it. Um, and like they have kids in the comics, you know, like into the Spider-Verse, they had a kid, so it's like I can I can see that. Um and I do think if that's the case, it will drive Fish to like protect her even more. And I also think Fisk is gonna go insane, you know. Um but like honestly, I'd be shocked if Dex made it out of this season. Like Fix like Fisk is gonna be on his ass after this. And like what will come of it? Like, I don't know, but I think shit is about to get spooky. And I think we're gonna see Fisk go crazy that we've never seen before. Like, he's just gonna start killing everybody. Um honestly, bro, he might just say, fuck it, I don't want to be mayor no more after this, you know. Like, who knows what he's bound to do. Like, you remember season one where he kills bro with the car door? Like, he goes crazy about Vanessa. So I'm curious to see what happens with that. Um, I think pal's gone. Like, like, fuck pal. He's he's Fifth's number one guy with the task force. Um, he's annoying as well. I don't know who that actor is, but he's like really good playing a dick. Um, and I think this is where Fist starts to notice that like Pal's not all that good at his job. Like, I think I think pal gets popped, or at least he gets threatened. Um, like he makes all these promises about taking out people and doing this and that, and it ends up not happening. Like, like how do you let Dex in? Like, I don't get how Dex gets in there. If you have this place completely surrounded, like how does Dex like obviously he can kill people once he gets in, but like I don't know, bro. I don't I don't really know how that happens, especially when Dex is like in his fucking in his fucking bullseye suit. Like, I don't get how you don't like notice that guy, you know? But maybe it doesn't get popped in this next episode, but I do think within the next two episodes, I do think Powell gets popped. Um so yeah. Then what else? Um Jessica Jones, I think she'll come in towards the end of this season. Um I did see a clip where something something about her having like a child or something. Um like yeah, I don't I don't I don't think that's gonna happen as soon as she pops up. Maybe maybe that's like a season three thing. Um, I don't know. But overall though, like I really enjoyed the episode. Like I loved it, like it was a great fucking episode. Dex is amazing. To me, this might be the best episode since the original Netflix series. Um, so yeah, like I really I really fuck with it and I'm excited to see where more goes. Oh, Dex doesn't get sidelined. He's a he's a really fun character. He's a great villain. Um, and we still don't got to see him and Matt work together yet. I think that's coming soon, like probably this next episode or so. But yeah, I fuck with Dex and I'm curious to see where it goes. Alright, that's my thoughts on um the good old Dared Overborne in season two. Let's move on to Dune versus Doomsday. Um, I'm just kinda I'm just gonna kind of ramble on about some stuff. I did do some research about IMAX and box office and stuff, so we're gonna see. I don't know. I just want to see what y'all think about this. Okay, so Dune was doomsday, they're calling it Doomsday like Barbenheimer. Alright, now what do we know as of now? Dune part three, it's coming out on December 18th. It has all IMAX screens for three weeks. Um Avengers Doomsday. It's releasing on December 18th as well, and it has no iMac screens. Uh, Dune has priority when it comes to IMAX. Alright, now what else do we know? Jumanji 3. It's opening on Christmas Day. It moved from December 11th to December 25th. So December 11th is wide open for Doomsday to move. I don't think Dune is gonna move now that Dune, you know, just has all those screens out. IMAX, so I don't think it makes no sense for Dune to move necessarily. So I think if someone moves, it's gonna be Doomsday. Um, so yeah, December 11th is open for Doomsday to move. Marvel has moved dates in the past, and finity one in-game. They both moved up a week, so it's possible. If they want IMAX, they should move up. Will they move? I'm sticking with no. Do I want them to move? I'm sticking with no. Like, I want the smoke with Dune. Um This podcast, we cover everything, but this podcast is called the I'm the podcast. So clearly, you know, this is created because of like Marvel, because me and Chase, we just we really fuck with Marvel and we like talking and arguing about this stuff. Um, but but but we do we do cover everything. Like we talked about Dune part two, we've been talking about Dune part three. Um, but do we we do probably lean more towards the comic book stuff? Um, and I'll say that like I lean more towards what Marvel Chase. He's been open that he's more excited for Dune, so I don't want to speak for him, but we do enjoy Marvel. I I'd say I like I enjoy Marvel more than Chase. Um, like I enjoy Dune, but I'm not like they're not they're not everything to me. Um like they're visually visually pleasing movies with great scope and great story, but like I'm not a sci-fi guy, I'm just not. Like I like the movies, I think they're really good. I gave both Dune movies a four out of five on Letterboxd. Like, I enjoy those are eight out of ten movies. I love I like those movies. I like Timmy, I like Denny, I like Zendaya, you know, um, but then they're not my favorites. You know, I grew up on Marvel and I've been invested in it since X-Men, the 90s, the animated series, Spider-Man in the 90s, the animated series, you know, so I'm more invested towards that. And like box office-wise, these movies come out the same day. Well, it'll certainly impact the box office. Um, now when you go back to Barbenheimer, you could say that Barbenheimer helped the box office. Like, I don't think Oppenheimer gets close to a billion dollars without Barbie. And I think Barbie probably gets to a billion either way, but I'll say that Oppenheimer did help Barbie in that aspect. Um, and I don't think these movies really help each other since they're kind of in the same type of stuff. Like, same as far as like um audience-wise, it's kind of the same. Um, you know, although I'll say Doomsday is gonna lean more towards like family movie. Um in Dune, I'd probably say it's more like for like mature audiences, I would I would say. But um, so I don't think it's necessarily the same type of situation as Barpenheimer. But either way, I would like for this to happen. Um now the main reason I wanted to do this was because of Reddit. Um, I'm big on Reddit, bruh. I don't say I'm big on Reddit, but like I use Reddit frequently, you know, as far as like box office subreddits, my favorite podcast subreddits, like shout out to the big picture subreddit, shout out to the letterbox subreddit, shout out to uh uh movie criticism subreddit, like anything movie TV related, box office related, like I'm on I'm I'm in the subreddit somewhere as far as Reddit goes. So if any of you listen to this podcast, shout out, you know, I'm here. You know, holla at me. You'll probably see me in the comments arguing with people. Um, which, you know, that is what it is. Um but yeah, like the people on Reddit, like like like I said, I like the dude movies. I like more, I like it all. I'm not one of these like pretentious assholes that's like, oh, you know, comic book movie shit is it's it's slop, it's this, it's that. Like, I don't I'm sorry, bro. Like, I'm not I'm not really interested in like talking down on people because of what they like to watch or because of what they don't like to watch. Like, you like what you like, I like what I like. Um, and that shit doesn't know me, bro. I'm sorry, it just does. Um there are some good superhero movies, there's some bad superhero movies. There's some good, you know, more there's some good Oscar Bate stuff, there's some bad Oscar Bate stuff. Like, I don't like I don't know. Like I just I just like movies. Like I I'm not a Cenophile, I just like movies, bruh. You know, I like what I like. Um alright now let's get into it. Um I want to compare the box office for these things. Now, I'm gonna go through both Dune movies. I'm gonna go through all four Avengers movies, and I'm gonna go through uh No Way Home and Deadpool and Wolverine. Uh, and I'll explain why I'm going through all these. Alright, now let's go through Dune. Uh Dune Part 1 released in 2021. Um, this is during COVID, it was in the middle of COVID. I want to, you know, full transparency, middle of COVID. Dune part one, I'm gonna I'm just gonna do domestic openings. It's the release on the same day. I'm just gonna go through openings. Dune part one opened 41 million. Like I said, it's covet, you know, it's not a good number, but it's covet. I don't remember what the budget was. I probably should have looked that up. Um, all right, Doom Part 2. This released in 2024. All right, 82 million opening. That was the uh opening for Doom Part 2. 82 million. That's that's actually pretty good. Yeah, it doubled Doom Part 1, so that's good. It's a good number. All right, and let's go to Avengers. Avengers 1, it's released May 20 2012. I was there. The domestic opening for this movie was$207 million. It's great. At the time, I think it was one of the highest. Um, alright, let's go next. Avengers Age of Voltron, why are they considered the worst Avengers movie? Um this released in July 2015. Domestic Opening$191 million. Alright, next, let's go to Avengers Infinity War. To me, the best Avengers movie, the best Marvel superhero movie ever. Uh Domestic Opening 258 million dollars. Alright, one year later. Avengers Endgame, the culmination of 11 years of movies. Uh, at the time, this is the biggest movie ever. Avengers for domestic opening, 357 million dollars. Crazy numbers. Alright, now let's go forward, two years. Spider-Man No Way Home. This looks like my birthday, 2021, um, in the middle of COVID. Spider-Man No Way Home. Domestic Opening, 260 million dollars. Alright, now let's go forward. Three years. Deathpool and Wolverine. Um, I would say this is in the peak of superhero fatigue in the Marvel is washed. Uh, domestic opening for Deathpool and Wolverine,$211 million. Alright, the reason why I bring up these movies obviously all the Avengers movies, like, you know, it's an Avengers movie. Now, the first, I would say all four of these, you could argue they don't have any impact on as far as Doomsday, no comparison as far as Doomsday, because these movies took place when superhero movies were at their peak and they're not at their peak anymore. Understandable. Um, that's why I bring in No Way Home and Deadpoint Wolverine, because Deadpoint Wolverine came out when superhero movies were at like the bottom. Uh$211 million for an R-rated superhero, R-rated event movie. No Way Home also an event movie, also during a rough time for Marvel, because prior to No Way Home, we got Shang-Chi, which I like, didn't do well. We got Eternals, which I didn't like, didn't do well. We also got Black Widow, which I liked, didn't do well. So you could argue No Way Home and Deadpool Moving came out of low points or comic book movies, and both those movies like Smoke the Box Hours. You know, No Way Home made more than Infinity War. And if it wasn't for COVID, it would have made more than Endgame. So so yeah, like I don't really want to hear it with this whole superhero fatigue stuff. This is a different time, da-da-da-da-da-da. Like, for all ten purposes, doomsday isn't it's an event movie, it's an Avengers movie. So these this comparing it to current stuff doesn't really work for me. Um think about it. Like, I just think people online are comparing Doomsday to recent entries in the comic book movies. You know, they're comparing it to Cap 4, Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four. Um, you know, like I do think people still care. Like Avengers Um, like the four teaser trailers that came out for Doomsday. You know, we got the Steve Rogers one, we got the Thor one, we got the X-Men one, we got the Wakanda one. All four of those got over a billion views. Um, the Avengers uh Doomsday cast announcement with like all the chairs, like the dumbass 12-hour video with the chairs, 275 million views. Like, there's excitement for this movie. Um, and I'm beyond and like that's all before Spider-Man Brand New Day comes out. Like 719 million views in 24 hours for Spider-Man Brand New Day. Like, most most in history. Um, I'm sure it's over a billion now. Like, that movie's definitely touching a billion. It's Spider-Man. And you're insane if you think that won't have an impact, a positive impact on Doomsday. Like, I just will. Like, cause now we're starting to hear rumors that Tom Holland's gonna be in Doomsday, so we gotta get some type of like teaser in brand new day, like a post-credit scene or something like that. Like, like, I'm sorry, there's no way it's not gonna positively affect it. You know what I mean? So that's just where I'm at with it, bro. Like, I hear like and like every anytime someone makes a post on Reddit about how, oh, you know, Dune is the type of movie people want to see, and Doomsday is the type of movie that people aren't interested in anymore. Like, I like I hear like obviously everybody's entitled their opinion, but like to me, I'm just like to me, that's wishful thinking on your part. That's what I say, that's what I comment anytime someone makes one of these posts. It's like that's wishful thinking on your part. Like, sure, you want that you you that's what you want to happen, but it's not what's going to happen. Like, doomsday's gonna put up a big number. It just is. Now, if I were to guess, I'm gonna say, honestly, bruh, I'm gonna say doomsday is gonna be anywhere between 1.5 and 2.5. Like, to me, the lower end for Doomsday is Age of Ultron, and the high end for Doomsday is the biggest movie ever. It just is, bruh. Like, we haven't even got the first trailer yet, which apparently is coming soon. We haven't even got the first trailer yet. Apparently, I mean apparently it's coming soon, but like But yeah, that's just where I am with it. Like, Doomsday is gonna be huge. You know, I think Dune's gonna be huge too. I think Dune's gonna do really well. I'm excited, I'm excited to watch both of them. These movies come out on my birthday. I'm gonna go see I'm gonna do a double feature. I'm gonna go see both of them. And I can't wait. I really can't wait. But I just think I just think you're insane if you think if you think Dune is gonna outdo doomsday. And the talk about superhero fatigue, I just don't believe in it. Um like I might believe in it when it comes to like newer characters and stuff, but for the big boys, like no Spider-Man? You think Spider-Man's gonna perform? Fuck out of here. You think Teams is gonna perform? Fuck out of here. You think Sea Girl War's gonna perform? Fuck out of here. Now, Supergirl, I'm worried. I just am. Like, I'm excited for it. I can't wait, but I'm worried. Um, Clayface, I'm really excited for that. But I'm worried. Man of Tomorrow next year, I think that'll do well. It's Superman. Um, people like the first one, so I think that'll do. I think that'll do well. For Batman Part 2 next year, I think that'll do really well. Um But yeah, I think for the heavy hitters, like they're gonna show up. Like they just are. People are gonna show up for these movies. Um They just are. So yeah, that's my thought on it. Um I don't I don't wanna, you know. But before I get, I just want to say this though, like I don't work for Marvel. I'm not getting mad at them. I just I just wish people would be genuine about this stuff, and like I get it's cool to hate comic book movies, and like doing this more aesthetically pleasing. It's for the movie nerds, which I consider myself a movie nerd, like Denny's the guy, Timmy's the guy, but like there's levels to this box office shit. And like I said, if this is Fantastic Four or Superman, I get it, but this is the Avengers. Like Downey's back, Evans is back, him Jorth is back, X-Men are back. Like, come on, Doomsday is gonna destroy the box office, and like whatever happens with IMAX, non-IMAX, Dune, no Dune, Jamanji 3, whatever, it's gonna cook. It's just gonna cook. And that's that. Alright, speaking of box office, um, Super Mario Galaxy movie cost 400 million a few days ago. Um, I wasn't telling my family. Uh Chase also went with me. Um, you know, it was my oldest star's birthday Nova. Um the kids loved it. Chase actually liked it. I didn't like I don't know, man. I don't I don't want to sit here and criticize this movie. It's just not for me. It's a kids' movie or whatever. Like I didn't I wasn't big on Mario. Like I respect it. I liked the first movie a lot better. I really did. Um I do think it's funny to see people online talking about how like this movie was like evil and da da da. I don't know. Like there's really no story to it. Um I don't want to like do a full-on review. Um, but I don't know. These movies are gonna continue to print money. I didn't I didn't care for it, I didn't like it. Um, but these movies are gonna do its fucking thing no matter what. So it doesn't really matter what you or I think about it, it's gonna it's gonna keep it's gonna keep printing money. Um and that's that. But that's all we got here for today on the on the podcast. My name is Caleb, me and Chase will be back next week to talk about Daredevil Born Again, the boys, invincible, uh oh, euphoria, euphoria comes out on Sunday. I will be, I will be watching Euphoria Sunday night podcast, euphoria. I can't fucking wait. I'm excited for Euphoria season three. I don't know if anybody watches Euphoria that listens to this podcast, but I'm definitely gonna talk about fucking euphoria. I gotta get I gotta talk about that shit. Um, but yeah, that's all uh that's all we got for today. My name is Caleb. Uh, and yeah, I'll see you guys on Sunday for some uh euphoria talk. I'm out
