Hello world, this is I'm Nell Podcast. Today is Sunday, June 14th, 2026. This is Women Television Podcast. We're talking about Fred from the television. My name is Caleb Chase. What up?
SPEAKER_00Doing good, bro. How about you?
SPEAKER_01Doing fucking great. We're here to talk about NBA finals. Also a couple trailers to talk about. Um Chase, let's get right into it, man. The Knicks won NBA Championship 4-1 over the Spurs. Um what are your thoughts about all this?
SPEAKER_00Man, salute to the New York Knicks. Bro, Jalen Brunson's a fucking dog. Scoring 45 to the teams, the rest of the team's 49 in game five to close it out on the road. Like the short king who could. You know? AI, fucking CP3, John Stockton, all of them before him. Couldn't get it done. So I'm glad to see him get it done. But not only that, New York won their first ring in what 52, 53 years. So yeah, hell of a hell of a season for the Knicks. OG and Kat hooped both had big games in this finals and throughout the playoffs. It's kind of funny that um the only game they lost in the last month was the game that Donald Trump showed up to Madison Square Garden. So yeah, that's another uh funny little tidbit to this uh goaded run. So yeah, salute to the Knicks, man. And salute to the Spurs for getting this far this quick. Like, as young as that team is, like, yes, they have Harrison Barnes, yes, they have De'Aaron Fox, but yeah, their main core is young as shit. And as long as motherfuckers stay healthy, which I'm hoping they do, they will be back in this conversation sooner rather than later. So hell of a year for the Spurs and uh for the Knicks as well. But salute to New York for getting it done.
SPEAKER_01I know why you mentioned Barnes. That nigga don't even play.
SPEAKER_00Um he's the veteran leader on the team, you know.
SPEAKER_01He's a bum.
SPEAKER_00Um bro, what did Harrison Barnes do to you? Chill.
SPEAKER_01I mean, nothing. He just he just he's a bum. I mean, it's okay, you know. He's had a he had he's had a nice career. He got a ring.
SPEAKER_00He's got two rings now. Thank you very much. Uh no, just one.
SPEAKER_01No, he has one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, could have got two, but now yeah. Best player at an UNC since uh Vince, low-key.
SPEAKER_01Hell. That's not very good.
SPEAKER_00I mean, hey, it's still saying something.
SPEAKER_01It's not very good. It's not saying much, man. UNC, they don't produce NBA players like you think.
SPEAKER_00They were a storied franchise at one point in time.
SPEAKER_01For sure. For sure. All right, um, congrats to the to the Knicks. Um, the Spurs, they just weren't ready. Like, these niggas led by these things led by 10 in every single fourth quarter and only won one game out of it. Um Yeah, that's crazy. They just weren't ready. And I'll be honest, like, I'm kind of mad they beat Oklahoma City, because I'm sorry, but like the Thunder would have put up a better fight. This shit is just Yeah. I'm just I think the Knicks would've if the Thunder guys weren't still weren't healthy, like like J Dub and uh Mitchell, I think the Knicks would have won. But if the Thunder guys were healthy, I think the Thunder would have ended up winning. But either either way, congrats to the Knicks. Um but I don't know, man. I just can't like like congrats to the Knicks. You know, Brunson, he did his thing. Um man, Spurs, it's just that's just disappointing, man. Cause like I know Wimby's 22, but it's just obvious that like he's not he's not there yet. You know, people are talking about him being the best player in the league being the goal. Like, he's not there yet, man.
SPEAKER_00Um because like honestly, I feel like that was very um like pump the brakes a little bit, everybody. You know, like yes, he is talented, and I'll give him top 10, top five. But yeah, defense, as important as it is to the game, he still doesn't have like a go-to move on offense. He still struggles to score in the paint. So, like, as phenomenal as he is, and as fun as he is to watch, he's still got a lot that he needs to work on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, um, but not just him though, like their guys just didn't show up. Like, I mean, Castle, yeah, he was good games one through four, game five, he was terrible. Um one for ten.
SPEAKER_00And it's ironic, the one basket that he did have was that tip dunk to like bring them a little bit closer down the stretch. But yeah, that's disgusting. You can't have that.
SPEAKER_01You know, Fox and Keldon Johnson, like they sucked the entire series. Like, I don't know, I don't know how Keldon Johnson got six men. Like, that nigga's trash.
SPEAKER_00It's funny to me because, like, when I was on Twitter, I had some followers who were big Spurs fans, and yeah, the Keldon Johnson experience is very interesting to me.
SPEAKER_01That nigga sucks.
SPEAKER_00He's had years where he was dropping 20 a game, bro. But at the same time, he just makes very dumb decisions. So, like, I was a little surprised he got six man of the year this year. Salute to him for getting it. But yeah, um, a lot of his flaws really uh showed out in this here finals.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and like speaking of uh dumb mistakes, like I'm sorry, man. This guy Fox in game four. Like, I knew I know they blew a 30-point lead or whatever, but the end of the game, you know, where when they're up one with 10 seconds left and he tries to go for the layup and it gets blocked, like just hold the ball, bruh. Just hold the ball.
SPEAKER_00It reminds me of um Westbrook for the Nuggets. Um not last postseason, the postseason prior to that. Where yeah, we we win this game if you don't, if you just take a deep breath and don't fuck this up. But yeah, that's not how it happened.
SPEAKER_01Like, like you're the OG on the team. You can't make these mistakes. Like, I can understand Castle or Harper, but you can't, you can't make that mistake.
SPEAKER_00Right. Like we were talking about um Harrison Barnes isn't really in the rotation anymore. De'Aaron Fox, for you to be the one guy like over 25, outside of what, Luke Cornet in the main rotation. Yeah, you can't be you can't be making plays like that, man. And I hate to say it because I do like De'Aaron Fox as a player, but yeah, this finals was very ugly for him. And it's crazy because the year uh the Kings had the whole light the beam, what was that, 23? He won Clutch Player of the Year. So it's like I know he doesn't have a ton of playoff experience, but this man is supposed to be like that in these bigger moments, and we see what it's like when someone is like that in these bigger moments in a Brunson, but De'Aaron Fox was not up for that challenge.
SPEAKER_01I've seen someone say that like he was on a shitty team for so long, he just picked up so many bad habits. And like, that's probably true. You know, that's probably true.
SPEAKER_00I guess seven, eight years in the league, and you've been to the playoffs once where you got you lost in the first round as the team with the home court advantage. So it's like even at eight, nine years in the league now, or whatever it is, yeah, he ain't got the playoff experience. So I hate that it played out that way for him, but it is what it is, you know? It showed out the way that was supposed to.
SPEAKER_01Alright. Let me ask you this though, Chase. Like, what do you think the Spurs need going into next year to get back to this point? Like, what are they missing?
SPEAKER_00They need more depth up front, like for the front court. Them, um salute to Julian Champagne. Like, he balled out this postseason, but yeah, he can't be your only uh starting caliber for you know, in the regular season, Harrison Barnes got some rotat got some tick as the backup four. And um Carter Bryan is nice, he still has to like get a little bit stronger before I'm expecting him to really play big rotational minutes at the three or the four. But um, yeah, they need more help for Victor. Like, Lou Cornette, salute to him. He's been solid.
SPEAKER_01I think it sucks.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, nah, like that can't be your second best big man, especially when you're not even playing a traditional big man next to Victor, you know? Julius Champagne is the same size as Harrison Barnes. We're talking 6'7, 6'8, maybe 220 pounds. So, like, if Victor or Luke Cornette is out there, you don't have any strong rebounders, you don't have any rim protection. That's tough. That's very tough, especially if Victor is gonna be, you know, playing on a minutes restriction and shit. Like, he's he's still working on the stamina part of it. I seen something um earlier today. I'm not a super huge analytics guy, but his net rating, first quarter, amazing. Second quarter takes a nosedive. It was like negative 11. Third quarter, he gets a breather at halftime, it's back up into the positive. Fourth quarter, it's disgusting again. So, like, they've got to figure that out. Like, his conditioning, if it's not gonna be stellar to the point where he's playing 40, 45 minutes a game or whatever, like some of these stars are, you have to get him some help up front.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's one of them things like um if Wombi's only gonna play 30 minutes a game, like you need like a you need like a legitimate backup center. Um, you know, somebody like Drummond. You know, Drummond was a backup for Embiid. Yeah, I think you need somebody like that.
SPEAKER_00That worked out perfectly for them. Like, not saying Philly was great this year, but in the games where Embiid was out or on a minute's restriction, yeah, Drummond would show out, bro. You'd have a double-double. He might get 20 and 12 real quick. He's shooting threes now.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, they also need they also need like a wing that's like a capable score. Cause like, yeah, I like I I like Champinny and Vassell, but like those, those, those, they're like catch-and-shoot guys. Um right. They need a guy that can like when shit breaks down, they can go get a bucket. Like, like like Fox and Harper can do that. I just think when you're a when you're like a point guard, it's it's it's not always easy for them to get buckets like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're a smaller player, and then like not to hate, both of them are still like kind of average to below average shooters, you know.
SPEAKER_01I will say though, man, it felt like this dude Harper could get to the rim whenever he wanted. Like it didn't matter who was guarded.
SPEAKER_00With ease, bro.
SPEAKER_01It didn't matter who was guarding it. Like, like, like, like it didn't matter if it was Brunson, Bridges, OG, like Harper was getting to his spot whenever he wanted. Um but no, but but like they need like a wing that can that can like somebody like somebody like somebody like like Paul George right now, you know, where not like prime Paul George, but just you know, somebody that can whenever shit breaks down, because like you know, Paul, he's not Paul George isn't in his prime anymore, but he can he can pretty much get to a spot whenever he wants still. Right.
SPEAKER_00Um yeah, you don't have to be our best player, but like a 6'8, 6'9 guy, we can just throw it to you on the wing and like yo, go get us a bucket. Yeah, like yeah, they they desperately could use that. Kind of like Detroit could use it, you know? Like someone besides Cade or um Durin catching lobs that can get their own bucket.
SPEAKER_01Detroit, they need they need shooters, they need a lot.
SPEAKER_00That too, yeah. But yeah, but no, um I've been seeing people earlier talking about Fox. He just signed an extension with San Antonio, a huge ass extension, four years, 229 million. Do you think he stays with them for the full duration of that contract? It kicks in starting this up and coming year.
SPEAKER_01Well, obviously, not the full duration because they're gonna have to pay fucking Castle and Harper by then. Um so no, I mean, hell, I'd try to trade them now. Um key. It's gonna be hard, but I would try.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I was gonna say, like, who's who's taking on that contract right now after this finals appearance?
SPEAKER_01I mean, who needs a point guard? I mean, think about it. I mean, I don't know. I mean, like, if you're somebody like Orlando, would you would I if we were somebody like Orlando, would you do that? I think I would.
SPEAKER_00That's interesting, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I think I would.
SPEAKER_00I mean just flip uh Bane or uh Franz for De'Aaron Fox. Yeah, no, that's that's an actually a very interesting trade. I like that for them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, I haven't even thought about it, but I you know I think about it.
SPEAKER_00Um but yeah, but I'm no you've convinced me. I I could see some teams being interested in De'Aron Fox still.
SPEAKER_01All right, one last NBA question for you, Chase. The last eight NBA champions, we've only we haven't had any repeat champions. It's it's been eight different teams. I'm gonna go through the list and I want you to tell me who's been the best team out of these last eight. We got 2019 the Raptors, 2020, the Lakers, 2021, the Bucks, 2022, the Warriors, 2023, the Nuggets, 2024, the Celtics, 2025, the Thunder, and 2026, the Knicks. Which do you think has been the best out of all those teams?
SPEAKER_00Man, that's tough because they all had some goaded runs. Like the Nuggets fan in me wants to say the Nuggets. Like, that is definitely the best iteration of the Joker Nuggets that we've had in the decade or so that we've had Joker. But that Bucks team was really fun too. Like, prime Chris Middleton was a problem, dog. Fucking um, that Raptors team was also very nice. Young OG, young Fred Van Bleet, you guys Ibaka, and Marcusall making smart plays on offense and defense, along with Pete Kawhi. Hell. That's a tough one, man. I'm gonna say shit. I'm gonna say this iteration of the next. Just because it's the most unprecedented, I would say.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna say the thunder. Um, I just think I just think the way they were able to fucking go on these crazy runs, just pretty much all on defense. It's crazy. You know, then you got Shay pretty much pretty much doing a Kobe slash Jordan impersonation, you know, getting 30 a game. Um and then I mean you got somebody like J Dub who like scored 40 in the finals, so so yeah. I'm gonna say the Thunder. Um, but there's a lot of there's a lot of good teams in that mix, though. All right, all right, Chase, let's move on. We had a few trailers come out this week that I want to talk about. Um The Social Reckoning. Um this is a trailer that came earlier this week. This is a sequel to the Social Network. Chase, what'd you think? Are you excited for this movie?
SPEAKER_00I'm definitely interested. Salute to our boy uh Carmy. What's his real name? Uh Jeremy Allen White, I believe. Yep. Okay. Yeah. Um I'm liking seeing him in a main role in a motion major flick. Like he's done uh the bear. He was in Shameless. So it'll be nice to see him uh take the silver screen. But yeah, I'm very interested in this movie. Was not super familiar with it before watching the trailer. Um the character or the actor they have playing Zuck. Bro, they did their thing with that casting. Like, knocked out the park, bro. Looks awkward and and human just as much as the real thing. I almost thought it was actually him. So yeah, this this looks uh intriguing.
SPEAKER_01Um, none of the original cast is back. Um Jeremy Strong.
SPEAKER_00I did notice that, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Jeremy Strong, he got recast as Mark Zuckerberg. Apparently, Jesse Eisenberg didn't really want anything to do with coming back. Um really, yeah. David Fincher, the director, he's one of my favorites. He's not coming back to direct this. Um Aaron Sorkin, he wrote The Social Network. He actually won an Oscar for it. Um, he's coming back as a writer, and and he's actually directing this movie, which uh Okay, which is interesting. I'm gonna be honest, I'm nervous about that because like he's known as like this amazing writer, but whenever he directs, it doesn't go that well. So I'm I'm worried from that standpoint.
SPEAKER_00Um I'm not super familiar with his directorial work. That's interesting though.
SPEAKER_01I I'd have to look it up, but yeah, it his track record isn't great as a director. Um, but yeah, this this movie stars Jeremy Allen White, uh Jeremy Strong, uh Mikey Madison, um, Bill Burr's in this bitch. Um, our girl Wound me Osaku, Annie from uh Center, she's in this bitch. Um yeah. So yeah. I don't know. I I thought the trailer looked okay. Um and you you mentioned the new guy they got playing Mark Zuckerberg. Jeremy Shaw, that's that's my guy from Succession. He's he's an amazing okay. He's an he's an amazing actor. He was nominated for an Oscar a few years ago for uh for that Donald Trump movie. I forgot who he was. He wasn't Donald Trump, I forgot who he was, but he did get nominated.
SPEAKER_00I had no idea anyone or anything from that movie had got nominated for an Oscar.
SPEAKER_01So I mean Sebastian Stan got nominated as Trump.
SPEAKER_00Ah, okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So um so yeah, Jeremy Strong, he's he's he's known as like this crazy like method actor. Um he he really he really like goes all in on these roles and like the voice, he's got a down pat. Um I will say he does look a little too old to be Mark Zuckerberg. Um but I mean but I mean hey, I think he's an amazing actor, so I'm looking forward to it. I think he's gonna kill it. You mentioned our guy Carmi. This is big for him, man. Yeah, because you know, because like the Bears ending. Um, you know, last year he had the Bruce Springsteen movie, and that movie like was like I didn't watch it, but that movie was a complete flop.
SPEAKER_00Um I didn't realize he was uh was he Springsteen?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he was Bruce Springsteen, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I did not know that. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that movie it's it's on Disney Plus if you want to watch it. I mean, I I heard it was like I heard it was horrible. I mean, I I mean I don't know. I haven't seen it.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I'm not I'm not in tune enough with Bruce Springsteen to really be intrigued by a biopic about him. I hate to say that, but like I'll check it out because I like Jeremy Allen White as an actor, but yeah, I we didn't grow up listening to Bruce Springsteen, bro. For sure, and that's not an act or a musician I've gotten into as an adult.
SPEAKER_01So for sure, for sure. All right, this movie I'll Stars my girl Mikey Madison. Uh, she won the Oscar a few years ago for Enora. She's amazing. Um, I'm curious to see how she does in this. Um, so yeah, I don't know. This comes out October 16th. I'll I'm really curious about it. I'm nervous, but I'm excited for it. Alright, Chase. This next one. There's a movie coming out in October as well called Whale Fall. I I'm just I'm just gonna I'm just gonna read the premise for this movie. A scuba diver searching for his father's remains in the ocean is swallowed by a sperm whale, leaving him an hour to find a way to escape. Chase, what'd you think about this trailer?
SPEAKER_00Dope. I'm so here for it, man. Like, I'm an enjoyer of uh nature. Like, I was a big crocodile hunter fan growing up, as you may remember, but like I I still watch nature documentaries as an adult, and the ocean ones are always very interesting to me. And yeah, I'm glad we are branching out, like getting away from just shark movies. There's so many different ways you could take like an ocean horror, bro. Like, why haven't we had a proper Kraken movie yet? Like a movie about a big ass octopus or a squid, you know? So yeah, whales are smart as shit. Like, you could probably do an orca horror movie, and that shit would do numbers, in my opinion. But um, yeah, I'm here to see a motherfucker get into it with a whale.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, this movie comes out in October. Um, whenever we do our top 10 list for the fall, this movie will be in my top five. Um, yeah. I'm super excited for it, man. I I love I love a good survival movie. Um, you know, it's starring my guy Austin Abrams. Like, like my guy, he's been on a run, bro. Since weapons, he's been on a run. Because he's also got the Resident Evil movie coming out this year. So he's he's on a crazy, he's on a crazy run. I I I respect it. I fucking respect it.
SPEAKER_00Modern day uh Pedro Pascal.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I mean, who knows?
SPEAKER_00From a couple years ago. Not that Pedro Pascal's run was that long ago. Hell. It's still going, as far as some people would say.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it is. You know, he's got the Star Wars movie out right now. So yeah, I mean, it's still going. Even though that movie's not doing well. Um is it not? No, it's it's it's getting destroyed by backrooms and obsession. It's getting destroyed by those two, which we're gonna we're about to talk about one of those movies here in a few minutes.
SPEAKER_00Um before we get into that, I would just like to say um, as someone who is kind of in tune with the Star Wars world, I got into it later. Never been a huge fan of The Mandalorian, so I wasn't sure what this movie would do numbers-wise. I feel like it's a popular show, but yeah, that's that's kind of a shame to hear the movie's not doing well.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, it's getting it's getting destroyed.
SPEAKER_00Um salute to the the other two, though.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna talk about one here in a minute. Because before that, Chase, some casting news about the Batman part two. Are you familiar with some uh some of the new casting rumors that are going around for this movie?
SPEAKER_00I am not.
SPEAKER_01Oh man. Well, for the longest, you know, Sebastian Stan, he got cast in the movie, and the rumor was that he was gonna play Harvey Dent. Um but some news broke uh the other day that um Sebastian Stan is not gonna be Harvey Dent. Harvey Denton is gonna be played by uh Brian Tyree Henry. Umvey Dent.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01And Sebastian Stan is gonna be play is gonna be uh Victor Zaz, the uh villain. I don't know if you're familiar with him.
SPEAKER_00Um he's I don't think so.
SPEAKER_01But he says uh he's a serial Who is he? He's a uh he's a he's a hitman. Well he's he's technically a serial killer. Um but yeah, he's but yeah, he gets he he gets paid by various villains to just you know kill people. Um and he gotcha he he pretty much has a killer so every time he kills someone he cuts he cuts like a mark on his body.
SPEAKER_00Um oh uh real killmonger hours.
SPEAKER_01Something like that. Yeah, something like that. Um I don't you probably never watch the show Gotham, but he was like a pretty he was like a pretty main character in Gotham in the show.
SPEAKER_00I have watched some of Gotham, but like it's episodes here and there. So I'm not familiar with the uh with the character, but he was okay.
SPEAKER_01He was he was played in the show Gotham by uh Anthony Kerrigan, um who was uh the actor that was uh Metamorpho in Superman.
SPEAKER_00Um gotcha. All right.
SPEAKER_01He was him in Gotham. He's but yeah, he's he's he's a uh serial killer, and apparently that's just Sebastian Stan's playing. Apparently Brian Tyree Henry is gonna be Harvey. Like this stuff isn't official. Like I don't I don't know when it if that if this is gonna be the case. I just know people were freaking out online about this, you know, saying that, you know, people people were mad because people I guess people thought Sebastian Stan would be perfect as Harvey Dent. But if this is the case, what do you think about getting a black Harvey Dent?
SPEAKER_00First off, I'm not mad at a black Harvey Dent. Because, like, one, these are comic book characters, these are yeah, whoever plays the best, uh whoever gives the best audition is the best version, you know? Yep. So I'm not mad at that. I do think Sebastian Stan would have made a good Two-Face. I could see him like that. But I'm not mad at him being the villain either. I feel like he would do great in that role. He was great as the winner soldier before Bucky fully got uh away from Hydra and all that shit. So yeah, I'm I'm cool with both these castings if that's what it ends up being.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, me too. I I I I want to see it to happen just so people can be pissed off about it. Um the first live action Harvey Dent was black, like in Batman 89, Harvey Dent was played by Billy D. Williams. Um I mean, I mean he never turned into Too Faced, but you know, he was Harvey Dent. Billy D ones was Harvey Dent.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01You know? All right, Chase where we go. I've I've I've seen Obsession. I went to go watch Obsession the other day.
SPEAKER_00Um do you know anything also went to the movies recently? I'll let Obsession, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'll let you get to that in a second, but do you know anything about Obsession?
SPEAKER_00Not a whole lot, no.
SPEAKER_01Okay, this is what I'll this is what I'll say. It's a movie about a kid, a young college kid in his 20s. Um, he really likes this girl from his job. Um, but he's he's he's trapped in the friend zone. Um and he's trapped in the friend zone mainly because he won't shoot his shot, like he's scared to tell her how she tell her how he feels. Um so yeah, he's just stuck in the friend zone. He he goes to like this thrift this thrift store and he like he finds some type of like toy thing to where like it's like this wish thing for like it's like this stick to where you break it and it'll allow you to make any wish in the world. Um he buys it and the wish he chooses is for the girl to be obsessed with him. And um yeah. A lot of a lot it works, and a lot of shit ends up happening after that. Um the girl, she's she goes in and out between being obsessed with him and going back to her normal self. It's it's wild. It's wild. And I'll say that the girl that plays this obsessed girl, uh, I think her name's Indy Navarette. She's a superstar. Like she's gonna get nominated. Um, she's amazing.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01And I'd never heard of her before. I know she was in the she was in the uh in the supergirl TV show, like from the CW or whatever.
SPEAKER_00Ah, alright. I've seen some of that.
SPEAKER_01I don't I don't know who she I don't think she was like a superhero or a villain or anything. I think she was like one of Supergirl's friends or something like that. Um she's amazing. Um, but obsession, it was it was it was a great movie. Like the hype, the hype, the hype was real. It was an amazing movie. Um yeah. It's it's a great fucking movie. I don't I don't really want to like spoil anything in it, but I will say that this movie reminded me of like a bunch of different horror movies. Like this shit reminded me of Get Out, it reminded me of Smile, it reminded me of The Conjuring, and it reminded me of Hereditary. Like it's a great Damn okay, it's a great movie. Um, but yeah, I went to go see that uh this past week. Um Chase, what what movie did you go see?
SPEAKER_00I went to go see are you familiar with I Love Boosters?
SPEAKER_01I I I've heard about it. I've heard about it. I haven't I haven't saw the I've heard about it. Boots Boots Riley.
SPEAKER_00This is uh a Boots Riley flick made Sorry to Bother You. And also um I think it was on Amazon Prime, but a show called Aquarius. I watched the first two or three episodes of it, didn't get super into it, but it looked interesting from what I remember. Regardless, yeah, the stars Kiki Palmer and a bunch of other actors, actresses. We got Will Poulter, and um yeah, Kiki Palmer is an aspiring fashion designer, but she's also a noted shoplifter, and her and her homegirls are boosting from high-end fashion designers, and yeah, it ends up divulging into a bunch of different shit. We've got Lake Stanfield in his bitch as a succubus, but also the um love uh attraction or romance that An Sheetle is in his bitch, Dr. Jack leading a behind the scenes kind of Illuminati like fashion type society going on. There was a lot going on with this movie, it was funny as shit, but also very much out there. It reminded me of everything everywhere all at once, but with black people. It's yeah, as much as they're talking about how fucked up fashion and retail is they're also talking about like rising up against capitalism and striking. There's a lot of different messages in this movie. So yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, man. Um I know I know it hasn't been doing that great as far as box office goes, but I feel like that's kind of one of those movies that is not like expected to do anything crazy like that. But I I haven't I haven't seen it though, but um yeah, shout out to it.
SPEAKER_00Sometimes you have movies that are like well received, but yeah, they don't do numbers. Like I feel like um Poor Things was a movie I really enjoyed. Did not watch it in theaters, but like going back and looking at the numbers, it did well at the box office, but like yeah, it should have did a lot better considering how it was received, you know.
SPEAKER_01Poor Things though, that that movie actually made like 117 million. Like Poor Things actually did pretty great um for what it was. Um yeah. I fuck with Poor Things though. I love Poor Things, love him a sound. Um yeah. But alright, that's all we got here today on our podcast. Man, Chase will be back next week. Chase, next week, I think well, I think next week or maybe two weeks, we'll have uh The Bear, the Bear season five. Um true. And then also Toy Story Five comes out this weekend. I'll be I'll be going to see that. I don't know if you're going to see it, but I'm definitely going to see it this uh this upcoming weekend.
SPEAKER_00I'll definitely try to catch it while it's in theaters. I don't plan on seeing it opening weekend, but yeah, we'll see.
SPEAKER_01Are you planning on seeing Supergirl opening weekend? That comes out in two weeks.
SPEAKER_00Um I was not, but yeah, we can we can uh see what the calendar's looking like.
SPEAKER_01I'm not I'm not all that excited for that movie to be honest with you, but I'm gonna go see it.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I'm excited for the James Gunn universe, but yeah, at the same time, like I don't know. I wasn't a super super girl fan growing up, and yeah, we got her in the first movie, but it wasn't a whole lot, so I'm curious to see what we'll get in this, but yeah, I wouldn't say um hype hype.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Yep. Alright, that's all we got here today. Me and Chase will be back next week. Chase, have a uh have a good week, man.
SPEAKER_00You too, bruh.
