Hello world, this is I'm no podcast. This is a film and television podcast. We're talking about film and television. Chase, what up?
SPEAKER_01Doing good, bruh. How about you?
SPEAKER_00Doing great. Today's June 21st. Happy Father's Day, everybody. Um, oh yeah. Happy Father's Day, everyone. Um, Chase, we got a couple trailers to talk about. Um, let's get right into it, Chase. Spider Man Brain New Day. Second trailer came out. Saw a lot of saw a lot of cool stuff. Um, we saw Spidey fighting the scorpion, we saw him fighting the Hulk, we saw him fighting the hand. Um we see him hanging out with Ned and MJ. We also see Gene Gray at his apartment at some point in time. Um, what do you think about this trailer?
SPEAKER_02It's looking good and continuing to uh build the hype that we've got going on. I don't know if I said last time we talked about this movie, but I'm expecting this to be the best Tom Holland Spider-Man. Like, I have a lot of high hopes for this movie, and this trailer did not disappoint.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I agree. Um, I'm glad Savage Hulk is back. Um Yeah. Rumor, the rumor is that he's gonna be like, he's not gonna be green in this movie, he's gonna be gray. Um interesting. I couldn't fully tell what color he was in the trailer. He didn't look completely green.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he was kind of in the shadows.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um but yeah, I'm I'm glad Savage Hulk is back. You know, I don't need no more smart Hulk. Uh yeah, I'm glad I'm glad Savage Hulk is back. Um, it's funny though, we still don't know who the actual villain is. There's a lot of villains in this, but we don't know who's like the main villain. Um we obviously we obviously saw him fighting Scorpion, but I don't know if Scorpion's gonna be the main villain. I'm not really sure about that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't think he's the end game going for this one.
SPEAKER_00Um and based on the trailer, it kind of seems like they want you to think it's gonna be the Sadie Sink character, who they're obviously not revealing who she is, but to me it's pretty obvious that she's Gene Gray. Um I don't think she's the main villain. Um, I kind of just think she's been put in a situation, and I think it's gonna take Spider-Man probably the whole movie to figure out that she's not exactly the villain.
SPEAKER_02Right. Yeah, I could see something like that as well. Because if we just go full uh Jeans the villain, like that that's a that seems a bit much for Spider-Man right now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and like um I don't know, just looking at the trailer kind of seems like uh uh old boy from old boy from uh Severance. It kind of seems like he's on the hunt to capture mutants. That's kind of my take on it. Is we saw the clip of him telling Spider-Man that you know that you know we're looking for someone that we can't really, you know, control or see or really know what they're doing, you know. Yeah. And that, you know, that that's that's how Gene's powers work or whatever. Um so yeah, it kind of seems like they're on like a mutant, like a mutant thing trying to capture her, and seems like they need Spider-Man's help or whatever. But I don't I don't think Gene's gonna end up being the villain.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, agreed.
SPEAKER_00Um, but yeah, this is a great trailer. The fight with him in the hand, that shit that he did in the trailer where he like where he like flew down and did some type of web move where he webbed all of them up. I've never seen that before.
SPEAKER_02Um Yeah, that shit was raw.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I've never like I haven't even seen that shit in like the video game. So that was it I I I do think it's cool that they're still like creating new ways to use Spider-Man's powers.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and even in like uh Spider Noir, like he got pretty creative with it just being like a 1940s brawler, more so than a modern day acrobatic type, you know. So yeah, a lot of versatility with uh Spidey.
SPEAKER_00Yep, hell yeah. So yeah, uh we'll see what happens, but I'm more excited for we also did see that you know we gotta confirm that he does have the organic webs, and this he's gonna have them in this movie.
SPEAKER_02I'm a fan of the organic webs more so than uh creating them, you know.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I think I don't I don't mind the organic webs, I just think I prefer the web shooters since that's like the actual canon. Um because Sam Raimi, he he created the organic webs on his own. That wasn't like really a thing until Sam Raimi did it. Um I mean I don't I don't mind the organic webs.
SPEAKER_02Um this adds to the um you know to the mutation. Like if Miles can have electrical powers, let my boy get some actual webs.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I don't know, it's just weird though, because Spider-Man's not technically a mutant, um, but it does kind of seem like they're gonna try to make that into a thing in this movie.
SPEAKER_02Um with the I mean it would be a nice segue for um X-Men coming into the MCU world, so maybe that's uh their line of thinking.
SPEAKER_00I do hope eventually though we get the thing where I only remember in uh an X-Men animated series where they went or where they went to Spider-Man and try to talk to him and try to get him to like work with them, and he pretty much told them niggas to fuck off. Um I do kind of hope we get that at some point with Spider-Man and the X-Men.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it'll be a nice uh juxtaposition because he was so hyped to work with uh Tony in the Avengers. So, like to see him be a little bit more jaded, a little more streetwise. I mean, like, eh, nah, I'm good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but this Spider-Man's too nice. The Spider-Man and and from the anime series was kind of an asshole. So I don't I don't think we're gonna necessarily gonna see that happen.
SPEAKER_02Hey, you never know, man. Maybe uh our boy Tom goes through some shit in this one.
SPEAKER_00Sure seems that way. Sure seems that way. All right, Chase, let's move on. Um, the Bear season five, it's coming out June 25th. Um we got we got one trailer that came out for this. Chase what are your thoughts and are you ex are you excited for this final season of The Bear?
SPEAKER_02I mean, don't get me wrong, I am glad that the Bear is back. Excited is not really the word I would use, though. I feel like we're running through the same prima as we have been for like the last two seasons. Like, yeah, we know Sid's like in it for real this time around, you know, there is no back and forth of will she stay or go. But um outside of that, yeah, Carmi still wants to get like this Michelin star rating or whatever, and they're still not making enough money. So it's like I don't know how many times can we run this storyline. I'm glad to see um I am hyped to see uh the growth of Carmi. I feel like um that's something that should be uh built upon. But like outside of that, yeah, I feel like it's gonna be the same old, same old.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm not excited for this season at all. Um so I'm glad we're on the same page. Um it is funny though, because like I thought the because honestly, the last season was supposed to be the last season.
SPEAKER_02Um I do remember that being like the thing, yeah, like as we were talking about it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like as like like when that ended, I was like, Oh, you know, I think that's a good way to end this show. And then they're like, actually, we're gonna have a fifth season. And I'm like, really? Um, but I don't know. I do hate that they're going back to like the same premise from like what was it? Was it season two where you know they're like, oh, we have to do this and that, or else you know they're gonna sell the building. And it's like, I feel like we've done this before. Uh yeah, you know, so I don't know. I mean, this is now it's the final season. I do hope it's a good ending for everybody. Um, right, you know, but I don't know. And I am curious to see how how it happened at the end of that uh that uh Richie and uh Mikey episode. If you remember the end if you remember the end of that, you know, we saw Richie get in that car accident. Um apparently, apparently that was in real time. Uh apparently apparently that wasn't a flashback. So gotcha.
SPEAKER_02So like maybe he was thinking about that day, and then yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so apparently that's something that that's gonna happen in this season. Um Okay. So I mean, I don't know if that's true or not. It's just you know, going through the Reddit page of the bear, it kind of seems like that's the consensus that that wasn't a flashback, that that part was actually happening in real time. Um so I'm really curious to see uh what goes on with that. But but I don't know, but I'm not I'm not overly excited for it. I'm I just kind of I just kind of hope it ends well for everybody.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I want to see uh Carmi get out of his head a little bit more. Um we didn't see a whole lot of him in this trailer, but uh he does have a moment where he's like, I love each and every one of you, or whatever. So like I feel like that's him going putting a step forward in the right direction. But um, yeah, just being less of a goofy around Claire, you know? Like she fucks with you, make time for her, and uh yeah, try to enjoy life a little bit more.
SPEAKER_00I love Claire, Molly Gordon, she's she's amazing. Um not much else is going on, Chase. Um what do you what have you been watching lately?
SPEAKER_02Uh shit, anime, which had a telly air. Um I started a new one. Agents of the four seasons, Dance of Spring. Pretty fucking good. It's a new age one that just came out uh earlier this year. And um, yeah, basically the gods bless four people at a time to be the agent of a season, and each of them has their own specific song and dance that they have to do to make the season happen in Japan. If they don't do it, the season just doesn't change. And um our main character, uh the agent of spring, she goes missing for 10 years. So yeah, there's just like a whole generation of kids that have no idea what spring is. Like winter just got longer and it just goes straight into summer basically. Yeah, she comes back after a while, and slowly we put together the pieces of like what happened to her, where she was at. But um yeah, she also brings spring back to Japan. So yeah, that's been a fun one.
SPEAKER_00Okay, all right. Before I get into what I've been watching, Chase I had a question for you regarding uh Supergirl. Um this movie comes out on Friday. Um its projections aren't very doing aren't well. This movie is projected to be a bomb, which is unfortunate. Yeah, and because I've been seeing a lot of talk online of people saying that you know James Gunn made a mistake by having Supergirl be the second movie. You know, people are saying that you know he should have introduced all the main characters, you know, like Wonder Woman and Batman and The Flash. So so this year we got Supergirl, and then in October we got Clayface, and then next year we got the Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow. Um, those are the only movies that are lined up right now. Let me ask you this though. If if James Gunn came to you and asked you for advice, where would you go after the Superman sequel? What characters, what movies would you want to bring in next to the DCU? And obviously we have lanterns coming out this summer, but that's a T's a TV show. If he came to you and said, hey, what do you think our next three movies should be? What would you what would you suggest?
SPEAKER_02I would definitely start to flesh out the lineup a bit more. Um we can leave the supers alone. I don't know how Supergirl's gonna end, but if she does get a second movie, put something in between those. Just so like people aren't getting tired of the supers, you know, because yes, they are different characters, different personalities. Same power set, you know? And that shit's gonna get a little dry after a while if we're just watching super strong motherfuckers flying and beating people up. There's a lot of cool shit you can do with Batman we haven't seen yet in uh James Gunn's universe. Um Flash, lanterns are gonna be dope. So yeah, if it were up to me, I would probably We're already in the lanterns TV show. So I would probably make that one of those one of the movies that. Um we've got Clayface. Hopefully there's a teaser for uh a Batman in there somewhere. Yeah, Batman. So Batman, a lanterns movie, and um Flash can get a movie, but just because the DCU's Flash was so recent, I would go um Hot Girl or Yeah, Hot Girl and Hawkman. Like just do a joint movie with them. They don't have to be a couple. Hell, they could just be on the same planet, whatever, you know. But start getting into the extra lore for the DC universe, because there's a lot of it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and it's funny. I forgot to mention this, but I did see that um they're getting ready to start filming the uh Jimmy Olson show. Um which kind of which kind of goes along the lines of what we what I was saying that you know they're doing these smaller projects. Um, but apparently the main villain in the Jimmy Olson show is gonna be uh Gorilla Grad, which which I love because I love Gorilla Grad. I've seen people online I've seen people online complaining about that, but I love Gorilla Grad.
SPEAKER_02Um what's the hate? I mean, like how involved is Superman gonna be in this?
SPEAKER_00Well, I don't think Superman's gonna probably be involved at all. I think people are just like, you know, Gorilla Grad is you know, why are we doing shows about villains when we should be doing them about you know heroes? Um I think that's what people are complaining about.
SPEAKER_02I mean, yeah, is Jimmy like that popular to deserve a TV show? Not gonna lie, like he had some funny moments in the movie, but I don't know. Like, I'm not I wasn't asking for a Jimmy TV show.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm I'm I wasn't either honestly, but apparently it's gonna be like some type of like anthology show where it's like a like a true crime type thing where he's in where he's investigating uh certain villains, and apparently the first season is gonna be like Gorilla Grad, which I like Grill Grad, so I'm not mad at it. Um but honestly, I'm going Wonder Woman. I think we I think we have to do Wonder Woman. We it's time. Um to me, you can't do Batman yet, because you kind of gotta wait for the patents and stuff to get finished. So I can I'm I'm okay with the great that's going.
SPEAKER_02This is gonna be like what 10 years? Seven?
SPEAKER_00We don't know if there's gonna be a third Batman movie. Um that's supposed to come out next year. So I mean, yeah, so I mean, I don't know. I'm just saying I would go Wonder Woman and then I'll go Flash doing the Gorilla Garage thing. It'll be easy to introduce Flash. You know, I don't enough time. I I don't care. It's a it's at this rate, it's been what three years since the Flash came out. So I mean, whatever. You know, and plus they can always do a different flash, they don't have to do Barry Allen, they could do Wally West, or they could do or they could, or they could like have it be like a time period movie and do Jay Garrick, you know, like the super old flash, which uh which I would actually be good with. I'll I'll I'll I'll I like the Jay Garrick Flash, you know, my guy with the little tin hat or whatever. Yeah, I fuck with I fuck with Jay Garrick. So I mean there's a there's a bunch of different stuff you can do. Um and then you know, I wouldn't mind if they went the Green Lantern route, like do a Jon Stewart movie.
SPEAKER_02Um like building up off the success of the show, you know?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I wouldn't mind it. Um but yeah, that that's probably what I would do. But I mean we'll we'll see what happens. Um all right now I watched two movies, like I went and saw Scary Movie, Chase. Um I saw it a few weeks ago. Um I mean I don't I don't think I don't think any of these movies are necessarily like good, but like I mean, I laughed a lot, I'll be honest. Uh I don't say a lot, I laughed a decent amount. Um Scary Movie 2 is probably my favorite of all the scary movie movies. Um But this one was kind of weird though, because like the first 20 minutes was like super funny, and uh it kind of just all went down from there. Um so I kind of so I kind of left the theater being a little disappointed, but the beginning of it was pretty funny. Like Teana Taylor's in the beginning of this movie. Um there's a bunch of jokes. She makes a bunch of jokes about her like losing the Oscar, um, which I thought which I got I I got some good laughs out of that. Um and she does end up killing Ghostface, which I thought was uh pretty pretty funny. Um you know they spoofed a bunch of stuff. They spoofed Halloween, they spoofed Sinners, Weapons, uh Long Legs, Get Out. They even did uh K-pop Demon Hunters, which I which I thought was pretty funny.
SPEAKER_02Um I mean I guess that counts as like monster horror or whatever.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, no, it was it was funny. Um Marlon's character had turned into like a cartoon and he he he performed golden, but it was like a different version of Golden. It was pretty funny. Um but it was weird though, man, because like I just felt like some stuff was like like a little some stuff was like a little too aged. Um like for instance, like like um, like they did get out, but like get out came out 10 years ago. So the jokes just it just doesn't I mean when did the last scary movie come out? It was like yeah, it was a while, it was like 2013. So so it was I don't know. I just kind of would have stuck with like more recent stuff, which they did with some stuff, but like I don't really see the point.
SPEAKER_02It was them uh giving a nod to Jordan Peel, you know? No, I get it. They did us or uh nope, but get out being the most popular of the three, like that's probably the one I would have gone with too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that they also did like there was like there was like COVID jokes, and I'm like, I'm like I'm like, bro, COVID was like seven years ago. Like, why are we doing COVID jokes? Um, you know, there was like jokes about like pronouns, and I'm like, man, bruh, this shit just feels so dated, you know. That was I felt I felt like so long ago at this point in time. Um but no, I mean, it wasn't the worst thing ever. Some of the centers stuff was funny, but I will say there was one sinner's bit that like was like pretty cringy in like a bad way, like it just wasn't funny at all. Um shout out to Sean, Sean Wayans, man, but like that that specific Sinners bit, it just didn't land at all. Um But I don't know. I left a decent amount, it wasn't horrible. Um Okay. It wasn't horrible. Um, another movie that I watched, Toy Story Five. Um have you seen it's out out already, damn.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it k it ca it came out on Friday. All right. Have you seen it? No, I I guess you haven't. You didn't know it was out. Yeah, I think you haven't seen it. Um Yeah, this one didn't it didn't hit for me. Um surprisingly. Um I went into it expecting to like it way more than I did. Um, I mean the kids loved it. I mean, I didn't hate it, I liked it.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00Um, but it didn't fully work for me. Um, this is a Jesse movie, um, which I didn't have a problem with because I like Jesse. Um you know, Jesse, Jesse's cool. She's the main character movie, though. Um, Woody and Buzz, they're sidelined in this movie. Um like they're barely in this movie.
SPEAKER_02Um okay.
SPEAKER_00It's weird. Like, Woody, Woody's not even living in the house. Um he's he's living in a tree with uh Bo Peep.
SPEAKER_02Um place.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and it's weird. Um, it's weird. He's like he's doing like rescue missions, saving abandoned toys that just get thrown outside. Um and and Buzz Buzz spends the entire movie trying to find a way to tell Jesse that he's in love with her, but he's like really like shy about it. It's I don't know, like they're just not they're just not that involved.
SPEAKER_02Um wait, who's uh who's rounding out our main cast then? Like who's aiding Jesse? We got it Slinky, we got Rex.
SPEAKER_00Bro, honest, honestly, no, like none of them are involved. Like they it's it's it's it's really just Jesse and Bullseye. Um I'm trying to think. I mean, it's Jesse and Bullseye because what what ends up happening is that um, you know, Bonnie, she gets she gets LilyPad, she gets the tablet. Um but before before Bonnie gets before Bonnie gets Lily Pat, she wants to like she wants to like make new friends, but the kids she wants to make new friends with all have tablets. So and they don't play they don't play with toys anymore. Um and Bonnie she gets invited to a sleepover and Jesse's like, I'm gonna go to the sleepover with Bonnie and make sure everything goes well. Um so Bonnie and Bullseye, they go to the I mean uh so Jesse and Bullseye, they go to they go to the sleepover and like all the toys are just like back at home. Um so it's it's weird, bruh. Like none of the other toys are really like all that involved. Like they go to the sleepover and they do meet some like other toys, but it's I don't know. Um it's and like Lillipad was kind of whack. Um as a villain. Uh because like I'll say this like Lillipad is the first out of all the villains from all the Toy Story movies, Lillipad's the first one that like is a toy that actually has a kid. You know?
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_02Oh, that has a kid, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay, yeah, like like like she belongs to someone, right? You know, like like Toy Story 2, you know, like the prospector, you know, part of his thing was that you know he was he was abandoned, you know, he doesn't have a kid. Same with uh, you know, the bear in Toy Story 3, um, and then like the doll in Toy Story 4, like they don't they don't have anyone, so they're kind of that's kind of like their motivation. Uh and with Lillipad, her motivation is pretty much to make Bonnie happy. It's not really to like fuck with the toys. Like she like she kind of fucks with the toys in the beginning, but after a while, once she realizes that Bonnie isn't like happy with something that's going on, she's kind of just like, you know, I'm not gonna fuck with the toys anymore. You know, it was weird. Like she kind of like, I don't know. I just I just wanted more out of it, but it it no, I don't know. It was fine. Um it was it was fine for what it was. Like, I don't know. This is probably my least favorite Toy Story movie, but it ain't bad, you know. Um it's cool. I mean the the kid, the kid, like I said, the kids loved it. I mean, this movie's made $320 million in three days. So, I mean, it's gonna easily crack a it's easily gonna crack a billion. Um But but yeah, I I'll be honest, I didn't, I didn't I didn't I didn't quite I I didn't quite love it. I didn't quite love it.
SPEAKER_02Alright. No, I'll give my review after I check it out. I'll probably go see it uh sometime in the next week or two.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, no. It wasn't it wasn't terrible. There was some new there was some new toys that um that got that introduced, like like Bonnie, like Jesse ended up at some other little girl's house who had like a bunch of like toy horses. Um and like all these toy horse. Yeah, it was I don't know. It was it was cool. It wasn't and there was there was like this weird subplot where like where like there's this like semi-truck full of uh full of Buzz Lightyears and somehow they end like there was like the semi like got into a car crash and all the buzzes ended up on like some beach. It was weird. There's like there's there's like hundreds of like toy Buzz Lightyears just walking around. It was super it like had nothing to do with the plot. It was super weird. Um it felt like they just threw that in just because I I I I still don't really understand why that was a thing at all. Um I mean there was some funny stuff like like Woody has a bald spot in the one of the toys.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, I've seen a clip of that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. Woody has a bald spot and like one of the toys said that uh Woody needed like a brown marker or whatever. Like that was pretty funny. Um I mean, yeah, there was some there was some funny stuff. It was just weird seeing Woody and Buzz sideline, like it was it was strange.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um but like I said, I mean, I I like Jesse, so and I think they're gonna keep making these movies, like there's really no reason to stop. I mean, you gotta keep finding out different stories to tell, but right.
SPEAKER_02Because yeah, where do you go after tablets and AI, you know? Like it's weird, like passed off to another kid, but yeah, it's weird.
SPEAKER_00Like, I kinda I don't know. I kind of like I feel kind of like they could have gone like deeper with the whole AI and like tablet stuff, but they really didn't. It was just kind of one of those things where it's like where it's like the toys, you know, see that you know the tablet thing isn't like great for the kids, so they're kind of just like, you know, oh we have to find a way to get rid of it, you know. Right. So I don't I feel I feel like they could have gone like deeper with it, but they really they really didn't. So I mean I don't know, but but honestly, like as long as like Tim Allen and Tom Hanks are still alive, they're just gonna keep making these like once one of those dudes like dies, like I don't want to hear another voice as like Buzz or Woody. No, that's facts. And even but and even Jesse, like uh I think Joan Cusack voices Jesse. Like like to me, those those three voices, like once one of them are gone, like I think they should stop the franchise.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. No, I agreed.
SPEAKER_00Like, like fucking light year, like light year is like that's like one of the worst moves I've ever seen. Like, shout out to Chris Evans, but him as Buzz, it just didn't work. Um yeah, it just didn't I think I've seen that one.
SPEAKER_02That one had Kiki Palmer in it too, right?
SPEAKER_00I think so. I don't I don't I don't know who she voiced, but yeah, that that was uh that was a rough one. Like holy fuck. That was one of them things, bro, where it's like they tried to like stretch stretch like do a fucking stretch it out outside of the universe and do their own thing, and it was like, nah, this I mean I like the idea, but yeah, the execution just could have been better. I mean, I c I d I actually didn't like it because I'm pretty sure in that one, like they made Buzz not a toy, like they made him like an actual Space Ranger.
SPEAKER_02Man, that was um he had a TV show on Disney, like back in the 90s, maybe, or like early 2000s. So yeah, Buzz Like You're a Star Command. That's that was the actual thing.
SPEAKER_00No, I get it, but like to me that to me that was like when he's an actual toy. In this thing, like he wasn't a toy, like he was an actual like space ranger, and like yeah, to me that doesn't work. Especially on the big screen, you know. Um but no, this is this is a solid movie. Um so yeah, this is a solid movie. But um, yeah, that's really all I got as far as watching wise. Um I'm trying to think what else. Um I watched Philadelphia. Say you ever seen Philadelphia?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I watched that the other day. Um that was a that was a pretty good one. It was funny. That that's like the last movie that Denzel was in there where he wasn't like the lead.
SPEAKER_02Um low-key, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was yeah, Tom Hanks. Yeah, that was that was a good speaking of Tom Hanks, there's another Tom Hanks. Um Yeah, that was when that was when I was the first of Tom Hanks' back to back Oscars. Tom Hanks is still the only guy to go back to back with the Oscars.
SPEAKER_02Um Brazy.
SPEAKER_00Crazy. Um I don't know if we'll ever see that again.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's a tough one. Cause I feel like it's kind of been rotating the last couple of years, but even still, like no one's doing blockbuster movies back to back years where it's like, oh yeah, Oscar worthy, you know? Yeah, I think the closest thing I can think of is um like Emma Watson with poor things and um whatever the sequel was, you know. But like even that, but or not Emma Watson, I'm sorry, uh Stone.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, hers were I think hers are like seven years apart with hers between her wins. Um I don't know. The Tom Hanks thing though is interesting because like I kind of feel like if people knew what Forrest Gump was gonna be, I don't think he would have won for Philadelphia. Um because to me, Philadelphia is one of those ones where it was like where it's like, yeah, this is a good performance and he deserved it. But Forrest Gump is one of those ones where it's like you have to give him the Oscar. Um because that was just like one of those things. That was just like one of those one performance, like one of those lifetime performances. Um but yeah, I mean, I don't know if that'll ever happen again.
SPEAKER_02Um but yeah, even the big name actors like Leo and shit, he just got his first a couple years ago. It's tough out here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean they make they make they make these niggas wait. Well, some of them. Leo had to wait, and it just sucks because Timmy, whenever he wins, it's gonna be for like some dumbass performance that he probably doesn't deserve.
SPEAKER_02Um right, compared to like some other some of his other works.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like because that kind of happened with Leo. Like, I mean, I thought Leo was good in the Revenant, but I don't think I think he was way better in like Wolf of Wall Street and in Django and in like the Aviator section. Yeah, so um the fact that he won for uh the revenant is hilarious. Um but but yeah, that's all we got here today online on podcasting.
SPEAKER_02Before we go, yeah uh what you got talking about scary movie um reminding me. I've been watching um the remake of Bel Air, Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
SPEAKER_00Bro, put don't do this.
SPEAKER_02That nigga Marlon was fucking Will's dad, bro. That shit's crazy. I did not see that coming.
SPEAKER_00Wait, Marlon Wayne's was?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I'm I'm never gonna watch that. Like, I'm never gonna watch it.
SPEAKER_02Not gonna lie, I wasn't like super geeks or like trying to tune in. It um it popped up after one of the finals games on uh Peacock or whatever, because they just like roll into a show or whatever after games. And um, I sat through the first couple episodes, it's different, but yeah, I can't. I'm fucking with it, man.
SPEAKER_00I can't do it. When I saw that Uncle Phil wasn't fat, I'm like, yeah, I'm not watching this. I'm not watching.
SPEAKER_02Hey, he's not fat. Uh Jeffrey's Jamaican instead of British.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm not I can't I can't do it, man. I'm sorry. Like I like I don't know how Will allowed this to happen. I don't know how he allowed this to happen.
SPEAKER_02I mean, he's probably making some type of royalties just off.
SPEAKER_00For sure. For sure. He probably has like some type of producer credit or something, but like, yeah, I love Fresh Prince of Bell. That's so that's something I'll never I'll never watch that. I just I just won't. I can't do it.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's crazy. I didn't realize they were as deep into it as they are. I'm like I think I just wrapped up season one, but yeah, they got four seasons of that shit already.
SPEAKER_00Hold on, I just pulled it up. Uh that's crazy. Coco Jones is Hillary.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, they got they got a couple of notable people in it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's wild. Um, yeah, Will Smith, he's an executive producer.
SPEAKER_02Um yeah, they uh they modernized it. So like uh Hillary's an influencer. Yeah, trying to take off on YouTube. That's whack. Carlton um snorting pills and shit. Instead of just doing speed.
SPEAKER_00Tatiana Ali is on there as like a teacher. That's hilarious, bro. That's hilarious. Yeah, that's hilarious. Um, well, that that is interesting. That uh that is interesting. One last thing before we go. Um, I saw that they're bringing power back, and I just gotta say, man, like we gotta hang it up. We gotta end this at some point, bruh.
SPEAKER_02Hey, haven't they had like that show had like multiple seasons and spin-offs, right?
SPEAKER_00There were six seasons of the original show, and then there's three different spin-offs.
SPEAKER_02Um What more is there to tell in this story?
SPEAKER_00There is none. Brothers making the shit up as they go. I saw somebody compare, I saw somebody say that this is like I saw somebody come I saw somebody say that this is like uh this is like uh the street nigga version of Tyler Perry. And I kind of get it.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, I kind of get it. Oh, that sounds accurate from what I've seen of the power universe.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I seen somebody say, you know, like 50 cents Tyler Perry. And I'm like, I get it, I get it, man. And you know, I might watch because like it's one of those things where I can admit that like it's bad, but it's entertaining. And sometimes we all got them shows. Sometimes I just need to be entertained. Um I just I just hate these people that try to compare shows like this to the wire. It makes me so mad. But that's a conversation for another. But um, that's all we got here today on the podcast. We'll be back next week to talk about the bear and also uh super girl. Um, so chase, have a great have a great uh week, man. I'll talk to you later.
SPEAKER_02So you too, fam. Later, y'all.
