Some family cycles seem unbreakable...

LaKeisha's testimony brings us face-to-face with the reality of generational curses and the miraculous power of faith to overcome them.

Today, LaKeisha owns two successful businesses with a third in development, has her own home furnished entirely with new belongings (symbolically leaving behind every remnant of her painful past), and lives with a peace "that cannot be explained." Her testimony stands as powerful evidence that generational curses can be broken and complete transformation is possible regardless of how deeply entrenched patterns of suffering may seem. With God, all things are possible when you surrender to Him.

Are you or someone you know trapped in seemingly inescapable cycles of abuse, depression, or generational pain? Contact our helpline at 1-888-332-4141 or email bbfuniversal.org to find the same peace and transformation LaKeisha discovered.

Podcast Together, once again with the Naked Truth Less talk and more power. Showdown of faith. I was talking to lakishan. Let me give you the summary of her story. She was abused, she was beaten, she was suicidal, she could not sleep well and she had suicidal thoughts. But at the end of our conversation I asked her a question about her parents' generation and she then started telling us that her mother suffered from many abusive relationships, so her two sisters. Today we are going to talk about the curses that one suffers in life. Let me connect now live all the way from Oklahoma City with LaKeisha. Hey, lakeisha, how are you today?

Speaker 5:

I'm doing well, Pastor. Thank you Good.

Speaker 4:

So we spoke about the curse that was upon your family, so I want you to tell us more about the curses that were upon the family. For some people it is a destiny. For others it's what runs in the family. Let us begin by talking about your mother. How was the relationship between your mother, your father and her other's relationship?

Speaker 5:

My mother and father didn't have a relationship. My father was in another relationship and I came about because they were just meeting each other occasionally, so she never had a serious relationship with my father. She was not married to him. It was sometime before my father where she suffered abuse from her former marriage. She was abused mentally and physically. It got to the point to where he had set my mother on fire in her bedroom while she was sleeping.

Speaker 4:

So he set your mother on fire. Did you see it or just heard about it?

Speaker 5:

No, I was told this as a child because I always wondered why my mother would be so depressed all the time and be so short-patient and angry, because she suffered a lot. She suffered in all of her marriages.

Speaker 4:

You were telling us that you were in a relationship. You were beaten and he burned your clothes in front of you. Now I heard from you that your mother was set on fire. Was she sleeping?

Speaker 5:

Yes, she was sleeping in her bed.

Speaker 4:

Right.

Speaker 5:

So he did attempt to kill your mother.

Speaker 4:

Yes, yes, he did Right, those who are watching us right now. If you have the same problem, you suffer from this domestic violence, abuses do not think it is normal when you see a lady being abused, broken relationship, broken home. Now you understand what curse is all about. Before Laquisha was born, the curse was already there. They didn't have relationship, just an affair. And when she was born, her mother was already suffering. When she became an adult, she had her relationship. She had the same problem in her life. That's not the destiny, the spirit that tormented her mother, that tortured her mother. She was still in the belly, in the womb, when she was born. The spirit was there to receive the child. That's why, when she grew up, she had the same problem in her life. Now, laquisha, tell me about your sisters. Are you the older one, the youngest one?

Speaker 5:

I'm the oldest of three. I have a sister that's 18 months younger than I and then a sister that is about four almost five years younger than me, and they've all suffered domestic violence. Yes, they were, for almost five years younger than me, and they've all suffered abuse as well. Yes, they were married and they suffered abuse from their husbands as well. My sister was married for about 10 years, and eight of the 10 years she was abused.

Speaker 4:

Right before we continue, let me show here to everybody what is the curse of abuses. Because she was abused, her mother was abused, and the sisters as well. Is it normal, is it a coincidence? Is it a karma, a destiny? No, it is a curse.

Speaker 1:

Physical abuse Non-accidental use of force that results in bodily injury, pain or impairment. Verbal abuse the act of forcefully criticizing, insulting or denouncing another person. Emotional abuse a treatment which may diminish the sense of identity, dignity and self-worth. Sexual abuse a sexual act forced upon a woman, man or child without their consent. There are many different types of abuse in the world. Perhaps you have been a victim of abuse your whole life and it seems like it's a never-ending cycle. You have witnessed your parents go through the same type of abuse and have heard stories of your grandparents going through it as well. This is because your life is under a generational curse of abuse passed down from generation to generation. Put an end to this curse of abuse, or else it will never be broken.

Speaker 4:

That's right. If you do not put an end to this curse of abuse, your children will have the same. The curse in Lachish children will have the same. The curse in Lakisha's mother was never broken as a result. She suffered a lot and I am sure, Lakisha, that you saw your mother suffering, always depressed. You start suffering as well in your love life, and then you saw your sisters having the same problem. What did you have in mind about the suffering in the family?

Speaker 5:

I thought it was honestly. At that time I was very lost and I thought that that was normal, that it was just a cycle, that was repetitive in our family and it was acceptable. It had been going on for so long. It became the normalcy in my life. I thought that this was to be expected in a relationship.

Speaker 4:

Right. So mother, sisters in suffering and you found yourself in the same suffering. Tell me more about depression. You used to see your mother depressed. What about yourself? Did you suffer from depression as well?

Speaker 5:

I did. I started suffering from depression in my relationship with my daughter's father. He was so controlling and mentally and physically I wasn't able to think for myself, speak for myself. I always had to be perfect and I lost myself in that, just trying to appease him and to make him happy. It became a struggle mentally every day. Say the right things, do the right things. It was very traumatic and very tough for me. So I would cope. I would hold everything in internally because I wouldn't speak to anyone and I wouldn't let my loved ones or anyone outside of our relationship know what was going on. So I would internalize everything because I didn't have that relationship with God that I should have.

Speaker 4:

And also sorry for cutting you off. Also, you could not even tell any of them, because they are having the same problem. The only thing that they could do is just crying together with you, because they had your mother, your sisters having the same problem, so you had nobody in the family to count on to find help. You are watching me right now and you are in the same situation. You do not have anybody. Anybody, because your mother, father, siblings have the same problem. Who is going to help you? Nobody. You have nobody. You find yourself completely lost. Let me show to you what is depression Disabling depression, because, because Lakisha became disabled, she could not talk to anybody. She has to be only by herself. Let us watch it.

Speaker 6:

Did you ever imagine that someone with a disability would look like this? Someone can look perfectly normal on the outside, but be falling apart from within. According to the New York Times, about 15.5 million Americans have been taking antidepressants for at least five years. But how exactly does this disorder disable someone? Does this disorder disable someone? Depression steals one's self-worth and confidence in situations that include the parent who has a strained relationship with their child because they have no strength to be present in their lives. The person who can't stay in a healthy romantic relationship because they feel unworthy. The young adult who is having a hard time because they can't figure out why they feel so useless. The one who misses out on gatherings with loved ones or even business opportunities. How can you live like everyone else when this thing inside of you constantly tells you that you aren't good enough? Depression the disability that no one sees. It's time to come out of this disabling depression.

Speaker 4:

You feel like disabled, you feel powerless before your situation. Give my call right now. The number is there 1-888-332-4141. If you are watching me from any platform, you can call, even outside USA. Also, you can count on us through the text. Send me a text message. I will be right there to assist you. Yes, to assist you through the text as well, 1-888-312-4141. You can send me an email. My email address is available. I'm always there. Check my inbox. I have my device here. Always check the inbox and I will be available to answer you. Bbfuniversoorg Lakisha, tell me how did you find about this ministry, the Universal Church, and by coming to us, which changes have you seen in your life?

Speaker 5:

I found out about the Universal Church through a servant of God. My mother was invited. I came to the church broken with a spirit of desperateness, looking to find myself and to find peace and happiness. I was very reluctant in coming because I had been to several churches before.

Speaker 4:

Did you say several churches?

Speaker 5:

Several. I had been to several churches before just visiting, but I never found a church home until I came to the Universal Church.

Speaker 4:

Just yourself, or your mom as well, used to go to church.

Speaker 5:

Me and my mother. We came and I brought my children as well.

Speaker 4:

No, no, I mean before you came to us, you said that you went to several churches. I mean, I ask you, just yourself or your mother used to go as well.

Speaker 5:

Oh, my mother, she went, she was a member of a church, she had her own church went. She was a member of a church, Um, she was, she had, she had her own church home that she was uh attending. Um, I didn't, um, I went to her church, I just went, uh, you know, to convene with my mom. But I wanted something different. So I started visiting other churches with friends and family. Different. So I started visiting other churches with friends and family.

Speaker 4:

Right. And then one day, your mother was invited to this ministry and you came together with her. How did you feel inside of this church? What were you advised to do in this church to change your situation?

Speaker 5:

Well, I had such a feeling of peace and that was the first time in my life to where I felt like I got what I needed. I identified with something outside of drugs and outside of drinking. It was the love of God and the peace that he gives us. I went home that evening and I was able to sleep for the first time in a long time and I got such good sleep. Then, when I woke up the next day, I was like when is the next day of?

Speaker 4:

church service Lakisha, I said the first area that the evil spirit attacks is the sleeping. A person cannot sleep, but you are saying now that the first day you came to the service, that first night you slept good, you had a good sleep throughout the night. Right?

Speaker 5:

Yes, I slept all night. I got up that morning and I felt rejuvenated and I asked my mom. I said are we going back to the church? When is the next church service? And the universal church. We have several services and that was what I needed at that time in my life. I needed to keep being fed. It was like my fuel, like a car takes gas. It was my fuel Every time I came back to service. I would feel strengthened, I would feel comforted and I would feel closer to God. That was something that marijuana and alcohol could not do for me.

Speaker 4:

She just said it Marijuana, alcohol, these things, these substances make you feel good in that moment. It's like numb your body. You know, when a person undergoes a surgery, a procedure, they receive the anesthesia and they numb the body. You know, when a person undergoes a surgery, a procedure, they receive the anesthesia and they numb the body, and the person does not feel anything throughout the surgery and for the couple of hours to come. However, after the effect of the anesthesia, a person starts feeling pain. So this is what alcohol does, this is what marijuana does. You don't need these things to survive. You need to receive a new spirit. Akisha, tell me now, how is your life? What has God done? Tell me about your depression. Tell me about your finances, your interior. Who is Akisha inside?

Speaker 5:

Lakeisha is a servant of God. She is wonderfully, fearfully made by God. He is my comforter and my keeper. I used to depend on the people that I was in a relationship with to care for me, to build me up and to make me feel like I had a meaning, like I had a purpose. Also to care for me financially. I was their fiduciary responsibility, so I didn't have that source of income that I could rely on and I learned how to trust God and let him be my provider, let him be my protector, let him be the voice of reason with inside of me and build me up and make me feel like I had a meaning and like I had a purpose in life. That was the first time that I wasn't depending on man, but depending on God and coming to the universe.

Speaker 5:

Universal church. It teaches you that God is the way, the truth and the light and everything comes from the father Everything. There's nothing that you can do on your own out here in this world. You feel like you don't have a way out. I just said it before he is the way and that's what I learned here at this church. I have strength. I have grown stronger in my faith with him in my relationship with him. I turn to him for every problem. I don't need to look for an outside source or a family friend to speak with, because he is my counsel. I face problems today that God gives me strength. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. I've built myself up in the word and he strengthens, encourages me every day that I wake up. I have a purpose and you have peace inside of you, I can love

Speaker 5:

my neighbor even though I have been taught to avoid people, and I have been broken and I have been stumbled upon, but God has given me the light and the voice that I needed and I feel assured every day that God's love sustains me.

Speaker 4:

You have a piece inside of you.

Speaker 5:

A piece that I cannot explain and I don't understand it, but I know where it comes from.

Speaker 4:

So how is your finances? You said you don't depend no more on men or anybody.

Speaker 5:

What did God do for you? Well, when I came to the church, I sought counsel from the pastor, because you know he speaks to everybody individually. You get your counseling that you need outside of services, because he's always available for us. So I was. He was asking me well, what do you want to do? Because I was in a job to where I felt like every day was the clock in.

Speaker 5:

I was very unhappy. I felt that it was a necessity to take care of my children. And the jobs they would come and they would go, they would be temporary and then we would get laid off. Nothing ever concrete, nothing ever. I was not successful in what I was doing.

Speaker 5:

So I spoke to the pastor and he said I said it's my desire, you know, to own my own business and to work for myself and to have an open schedule, because I am a single mother and I want to be able to be there for my children, but also to have a stability and have an income, multiple streams of income. So some campaigns came up and I participated in the campaigns. I participated in every challenge that the Universal Church, every campaign that the universal church had. I even gave offerings, I sacrificed. I sacrificed a lot that I needed, and when I tell you it's a sacrifice, it was a sacrifice because for me, a single mother of seven children, turning over everything that she had was a very difficult decision, but I knew that if I wanted to see the hand of God move on my finances, that it would have to be done.

Speaker 4:

And then you saw God honoring you. How is your finances now? What did God do for you?

Speaker 5:

Oh, he's done so much. I have two businesses. He's done so much. I have two businesses. I was living previously with my mom. After I left my abusive relationship, I had to live with my mom for a couple of years, but I have my own home. I didn't have a car before. I have the car that I wanted personally, that I knew that I couldn't afford, but by God's grace I got it and then he's been able. I've been able to keep it. So I have two businesses that I'm running right now and I have a third one, a third project, in the works.

Speaker 5:

I don't worry about anything because God takes care of everything for me. I'm. I returned my 10% every month. I'm a faithful Todd pair and I will continue to participate in all the campaigns because God has moved in my life tremendously. I do not look for outsources of financial increase or income because God sustains me. Everything I have is from him. Not only did I get the new house, but everything in it is new. I took nothing from the old house and brought in furniture, new, everything, new, everything is brand new, everything.

Speaker 4:

Everything. So, if the viewers do remember, she got her clothing Burned in front of her eyes. She was beaten. Now God has honored this lady. Lakisha, I'm very happy for you, congratulations for your faith, and I have something to tell you. God has not done with you yet. He has something greater to give to you. Next time you come on board to testify, the testimony is going to be greater. If you don't stop in your faith, you don't stop conquering and you will glorify God with your next new testimony. Thank you very much for joining us. God bless you. All the best.

Speaker 5:

Thank you. God bless you too.

Speaker 4:

Speaker 3:

Here I am In this moment of prayer, in this moment of prayer so despised, without love.

Speaker 4:

Need to talk with my Lord. Oh, my Lord and my Father, there are many Lachishians out there, so despised, without love, living a miserable life, a life that's not good at all, jesus, but I am praying to you, I am asking you for the change, for the transformation of this person's life. No, lord, this person cannot take it anymore. Enough of suffering enough of pain. Lord Jesus, come to unburden this person that has been mistreated, beaten, that has been Lord in a terrible situation. My God, as I hold this mic here, I ask you to hold this person. We are holding our hands right now. Transform this person that is in suffering pain.

Speaker 4:

Lord Jesus Christ, transform the life of this person. Let this person have peace, let their lives be transformed once and for all. This is what I ask you In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. Amen, praise God. Wherever you may be right now, receive peace inside of your life. Open your eyes now. My peace. I give to you Gold and silver. I do not have, but what I have I give to you. Receive peace, be transformed by the power of God.

Speaker 3:

Joy comes in the morning. Troubles may not last always, for there's a friend in Jesus, hallelujah.
