Welcome everybody to the Couch and Comics podcast. Where we discuss couches and comics. I'm your host, the Iceman. Let's go. Alright, everyone, here we go. Episode 4 of A Quiet Place Storm Warning. And if you remember, we left off issue number 3, where Lonnie rigged himself and the bridge to explode. Trying to get his point across that if they don't destroy the bridge, the death the death angels will destroy them all. Alright, here we go. The title, The Flood. Welcome to Pearl. As everyone stands with their guns drawn at Lonnie. So, do we shoot him or what? Everyone says. Whoa, whoa, whoa. This is Lonnie. We gotta do this by the book. What do you say, babe? Caleb, we're not going to just execute my brother. Might as well, Lonnie. You might as well kill me. Because if this bridge stays up, I'm dead. We're all dead. We heard all this shit before, Lonnie. Yeah. And we said no. But apparently that doesn't mean anything to you. Now, now look at you. Discuss this like civilized people, but you don't like the plan. So you just went off on your own and decided to blow Pearl all to hell. Yeah, Lonnie, did you notice there are people on this bridge when you rigged it to detonate? I would have cleared you off. If there was time before those things came. If there was time, how generous. Okay, I heard enough. Where do we put 'em? Everyone on the bridge rags their head, tries to talk to Lonnie. Normally I take prisoners over to the jail and Mount Harper. Mount Harper is gone, says Lonnie. Anqua is gone. Clinton, Chicago, the levee, my boat, all gone. Clem to as he puts his head down in disgrace. Clem was decapitated by the death angels. Clem's dead? They took him apart easy. As a kid kicking the head off a dandelion. And now, every word we say, every shot we fire, every last noise brings him closer to doing it to us. I fought one, if you could call it that. More like running for my life. That's how I got this. He points to his arm that was scratched and clawed up by the death angel. Jesus, Lonnie! Go see if you don't believe me. He points to the other side of the bridge. Then you'll be back here to help me finish the job. And cursing yourself for every second you wasted with this bull. They hear noises from across the bridge. They hear the death angels. They made all the talking that Lonnie just mentioned has brought a death angel running towards them full speed across the bridge, crashing through all the cars. My truck! Someone's taken off with my shut up. Lonnie said, Shut up if you want to live. As a death angel comes closer, knocking every car in his path off the bridge. Death Angel appears from the crash debris. Everyone stands in shock and awe. Blah! Blah Shut up! Shut up, you little In the distance they see a death angel on the building. The death angel hears the cry. He jumps off the building and heads straight. Brody, honey, god damn it, shut up! As Brody continues to go insane, the death angel makes his way over towards them. Go ahead, scream your head off Terry, Maya, Ronnie. They all as Caleb runs off, he leaves Terry, Maya, and Brody all by themselves. You won't take me with you. As he keeps running away, he makes noises in the mud. The death angel hears it and chases after Caleb. The Death Angel catches Caleb and claws him in the back, throwing Caleb across the field, stabbing him, piercing him with his claws. Terry, Maya, Brody stand silent as they look on the Caleb's lifeless body. The Death Angel releases his claws. A bloody Caleb lays on the ground. The Death Angel looks around for sound. He doesn't hear any. Terry starts to cry. The Death Angel continues to pace back and forth, looking for stimulation. A tear fall from Terry's eye. It falls straight to her boot. Back to then. The civilians begin shooting at a death angel on the bridge. All of them begin to panic, scream, shout, as rounds hit the death angel. And as we all know, the death angel is immune to small arms damage. It begins to violently crash against the vehicles, the bridge, knocking everyone over. It lunges at all the civilians on the bridge that are shooting at him. It tears its way through him, slicing, dicing, cutting limbs from bodies, piercing people, impaling people. The death angel hovers over him, about to finish him off. As the death angel begins his finishing blows on the civilian, Lonnie activates the tornado warning system. And that is why you spring for the remote-controlled tornado siren. As the death angel hovers over the dead body of Caleb, everyone cries in silence. Terry reaches for her backpack. She unzips it. The death angel hears the sound, and his attention pierces Terry. As she unzips the batpack, faster, louder, the death angel exposes his face. Terry reaches for a bear. The death angel walks up to Terry, about to finish her. She grabs the bear, throws it. Sorry. As Caleb is still conscious but slowly dying. Sorry. He says out loud, I'm sorry. The Death Angel takes his claws and finishes Caleb, smashing him straight down, straight through the ground. Oh god, Caleb. She pulls the bear that she pulled from her backpack. Hi there, come send me a song, says the bear. Sing with me your ABCs. As the bear continues to sing and shout. A B C D E F G H I. As the Death Angel is attracted to the sound, it chases after Terry with who is holding the bear. As Terry throws the bear, the death angel claws it up, scratches it. Terry grabs. Terry grabs a spinner from her backpack and spins it. As it whizzes by, making all kinds of noise, the death angel is attracted to it and hunts it down, destroys it, but still, Terry makes noise running away. He chases after her. She grabs a firecracker from her backpack. She lights it. But the lighter is not working. The noise a lighter makes when it's trying to ignite. Back to then. Now you know. Now you know what just one of those things can do. Now imagine two or three, a dozen. Don't matter what happens to us now. The death angels climb their tornado siren tower. Begin to destroy the sound. All that matters now is what we can do for our families. Buy me time, even if it's just a few seconds. Lonnie says. That's issue number three. I am sorry. That's issue number four of a quiet place storm warning. Hope you guys enjoy it. I have one more issue. We'll see what happens. Uh man, I could not figure out a couch for this episode. It was a difficult one. But I got one up there. It was a you know, it's a sad lonely couch, but um, I think it does this episode justice. Alright, you guys, I'm your host, The Iceman.
