When you think of your typical film buff, who do you picture? Probably not two first-generation Jamaican/Canadian basketball players. This podcast was created to change that. Scene DMs is a journey through the minds of two best friends from Toronto who are huge fans of two things: movies and basketball. This podcast was created to be a bridge between cinematic works of art and the world of sports—from two film lovers who also happen to be professional athletes. Each week on Thursday join co-hosts Duane Notice and MiKyle Mclntosh as they discuss, debate, and review different aspects of movies, film, and cinema-from pure entertainment value to behind-the-scenes work, and everything in between. Along the way, their discussions will evoke powerful feelings of nostalgia, bridge the gap between sports and the art of cinema, and encourage more appreciation for both. Tune in EVERY THURSDAY!!

DuuNo and Merv talk about Vince Carter's jersey retirement and if the hate he still receives from Toronto fans is justified. Merv gives a brief rundown of Russell Crowe's early life origins and the start to his acting career. Then they dive into what makes Russell Crowe a certified movie star and great actor who's dominated the silver screen.

ACT ONE - Merv and DuuNo briefly speak on the impact of Crowe's filmography at the beginning of his career. They describe his highlight performances.

ACT TWO - They debate which role is their favorite from Russell Crowe, then continue to look at some of the unique characters he has portrayed.

ACT THREE - DuuNo and Merv speak about the more recent films from Crowe and what he has coming up in the future.
