When you think of your typical film buff, who do you picture? Probably not two first-generation Jamaican/Canadian basketball players. This podcast was created to change that. Scene DMs is a journey through the minds of two best friends from Toronto who are huge fans of two things: movies and basketball. This podcast was created to be a bridge between cinematic works of art and the world of sports—from two film lovers who also happen to be professional athletes. Each week on Thursday join co-hosts Duane Notice and MiKyle Mclntosh as they discuss, debate, and review different aspects of movies, film, and cinema-from pure entertainment value to behind-the-scenes work, and everything in between. INTRO - The guys DuuNo and Merv reunite for a convo about the John Wick franchise. They discuss the NBA finals and which Canadians they’re proud of seeing play on the biggest stage. They list possible factors that make the John Wick universe successful with a cult following in the action genre.

ACT ONE - They debate Keanu Reeves Mount Rushmore outside of playing the feared Boogyman. Then they review each of the 5 films within the Wick universe, including the latest entry, Ballerina (2025) starring Ana De Armas.

ACT TWO - Merv and DuuNo start the first round of the John Wick draft by making selections for the following categories: Best 1 on 1 fight, the best villain, the best piece of memorabilia, the best weapon and the best individual action kill.

ACT THREE - DuuNo and Merv complete the draft after making picks in round two of the Wick Draft.

HEAT CHECK - SceneDMs movie trivia based on the episode’s subject matter.
