I love this episode! Dog training is an emotionally charged topic today. Especially when you bring up tools like e-collars. But we have found this tool to be the most practical and effective way for our clients to win. They develop amazing relationships with their dogs. They're able to give their dog's more freedom and include them in family activities.
They even boost their dog's confidence with the e-collar, help them settle, and reduce fear and anxiety. Not what you will hear if you read the typical narrative on the internet. Most sources talk as though all we do with e-collars is light the dog up over and over again, but that couldn't be farther from the truth.
Yes, we can punish behaviors using the e-collar, and we do. But we can also do many other things with it that most people don't know about. It becomes a very strong communication tool with our dogs. It becomes a lifeline. It helps dog's build skills and build confidence where they may have never been able to were it not for skilled e-collar use.
