The government is proposing major changes to the control of free speech.

All media will be affected, everything from social media channels like Facebook and Twitter, to the mainstream media that have until now self-regulated their content. 

A new government regulator will have the power to remove content, close down sites, and impose fines of up to $200,000.

Is this the Big Brother the George Orwell warned about in his book 1984?
