SPEAKER_00Turn that sound up loud enough for the neighbors to hear. This is the Misplaced Punk Show with your host Brody. So grab a beer and let's go I'm 15, it's easy to fall into despair.
SPEAKER_07I feel different, I feel alone.
SPEAKER_13Searching for something to bridge the gap And then I hear that song For a moment I feel safe I need to find a saving place I had to leave my low to follow my own A bomb that's strong like flesh and bow A family that could call my low Stay below that's up for it A family that could call my own Stay below Does it take long to find people who'll stay?
SPEAKER_07A chosen family to hold me up. Your house, your turntable, I say turn it up. A life-saving scene, a life-saving sound. This is a moment we've found our sacred ground where each of us is bound. And I'm glad you're here, right beside. We sweat together, we give it meaning. You know what this means? The obligation it provides. We don't let go, we keep each other alive.
SPEAKER_13A fresh move to come along.
SPEAKER_07A fair man can come along. You realize what we found, not just sacred ground, a community to celebrate each other. A sibling, a sister, a brother. Protect each other, hold each other up, you'll find it overflowing. Your cup. A family, I can call my own, I can be my own, my home, a bomb that's strong, like flesh and move.
SPEAKER_13A family I could call my own.
unknownThe fan that's what you think and didn't stop snapping suffering. A family I could call my own.
SPEAKER_01Hey, welcome to episode 154 of the Misplaced Punk Show. I am your host, Brody. How the hell is it everyone? It has been a week, a very hot week where I am. I am your Nashville. Uh yeah, it's hot as fuck outside. It is uh currently 87 degrees. Sounds like it's about to start thundering and raining soon. Uh hope it's been a little cooler wherever you are. But uh through the US, there's a good chance it's not been. Uh when did when I got in my car, I was at 112 in my car. So fuck that. I hate the heat. It's just it's so just humid and shitty and just it sucks the the breath right out of you. But uh we're still gonna get through it. Uh I mean look at everything that's going on in uh with the uh our 250th anniversary bullshit. Fuck that. I don't give a shit about that. It's it's been taken over. I don't know if you noticed fucking real Nazis marching through Washington. The uh shit, I can't remember what they're called now. The fuckheads, it's called Matt. Uh yeah. It's been crazy. So let's just get into it, shall we? Our intro this week was from Mantis Watch with I Don't Wanna Die at the ink at the DMV. That yeah, I mean, that right there says it all, doesn't it? It feels like a long line at the DMV. That's kind of what summer so far feels like. Um we started off with Dead Pioneers in a brand new album Wagon Burner that was Never Alone featuring the interrupters. Uh I just picked up the vinyl today. Uh I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but I have listened to uh the digital version uh a couple multiple times. Love it. Uh I can't there's maybe one song that I might skip, and it's just it's kind of an outer style, it almost has like a dance view to it. You'll hear it, you'll know it whenever you hear it. I'll I mean I'll still play it, I'll still listen to it. But uh, yeah, because there's a couple that are so good, including Never Alone and uh uh what? No King's great song. What was it? Hold on. My favorite is to get the exact title right, Animals That Roam the Earth. I think that might be my favorite track so far. But anyways, uh let's get right into the first set because they featured on that song. We're gonna have the interrupters. This is Raised by Wolf, right here on this PlayStation show.
SPEAKER_13You got my letter, you read it twice. SPEAKER_14Oh baby what should I do?
SPEAKER_01I'm a streamer Oh baby I'm a stream Loving you something I can do and I don't deserve there's no one to fight like you I'm a streamer streamer back I didn't wanna break your heart but full of there's no capacity And now I just gotta break free Cause I must Oh baby I must dream Oh I'm a stream Oh baby I must be I must dream Baby I must remove Yeah yeah Oh baby I must remove Alright old Scott Reggae set there for ya we started off with the Interrupters and Raised by Wolves from their 20 uh 24 album in the Wild Then we had the Agro Lights with their uh title track uh right title track Reggae Hit LA or the uh yeah the title track to the album I don't know then we had the Snouters with Blobfish from their album Snouts Up and we finished with the Dynamos in I Must Remove from Choice Cuts Volume 1. Um I know uh the Agro Lites have a brand new album through uh Pirates Press Records that's what it is. Uh what I've heard is really good. I really love those guys. Uh dude's got an amazing voice. I know the singer from the Agolites did something with the uh the remaining members of American bomb or US bombs with without uh what's his face the singer I can't think of his name right now off the top of the head. But you know who I'm talking talking about the former skateboarder, the uh I know he was he had like a nervous breakdown after his son died. And then he kind of went on some like homophobic rants and did some crazy shit and said some stupid shit and Yeah. But uh I cannot remember the name of the band between the rest of them and the Agolite singer whom I also cannot think of his name. But uh if you do know send me uh a shout out to uh misplacemunk at gmail.com. I've been trying to find it I know it's kinda it's not on fan camp that much I do know but I really liked what I heard like I don't know a couple years ago Yeah it's been a while now. Anyway uh all that to say it's gonna hold the next set shall we uh start off with no quarter and my president right here on the Facebook We got to do that when I want to do
SPEAKER_13I guess we have the power to control the way our future goes. I guess we have the power to control the way it will be over. Wow, wow. It's time to be the protagonist. Let's all raise our kids. Why do we all just get around? Raise up your voice. Let's make a sound. I guess we have the power to control the way our future goes. I guess we have the power to control the way it will be over. You don't think that we know all the laws that we shall hold? Rich get richer, the rest get poorer. That's just your new world all right.
SPEAKER_10Just another madman. A paranoid with the flam. It is Passyland. A gun in his hand. Healing in the school. Now you'll show them all. Bessie's storm them all. Bullet. Your name on his bullets. Get escape from his bullets.
SPEAKER_13In love with his gun. Bullet. Killing just for fun.
unknownAnother racist killer. With a triggered finger. A camera. A sniper. My team loves you. Don't fucking run you. It's moving from the clean. If you're on a man, bullet. You'll use the dead. Bullet.
SPEAKER_10I'm for the kill. Bullet. This is only real.
SPEAKER_02It's where you were born. It's your side you're on. It's the color of your skin. It's the church you go. It's the sign of your wallet. It's who you know. It's where you shop. It's what you eat. It's where you live. It's your front lawn. It's the car you drive. It's your Christmas lights. Now you know what it is. It's not quite what it is.
unknownDo away from the hunting. You're not part of the hunting. It was not meant for you.
SPEAKER_10Nothing was ever too. American scream. American screaming.
SPEAKER_12We are going to fight. To fight, we don't batch. We come in the dude. Then we get in the loose. Like in the love. Not buying your life. Shoot on my jobs. We don't give a fuck. Cause we are the threat.
unknownWe think by yourselves. We make what you're doing. We never change what they think of the dude. Nothing on you. We refuse to get up. Not even.
SPEAKER_12We never give up. We are the ones you can stop. We want to play. Anything you gotta say. Cause we are the threat. We think by yourselves. We make all your threads again. We never change way up the way.
unknownWe have the way to play.
SPEAKER_01Alright, throw a little thrash in there for you. Started that start off with No Quarter. And my president from the album No More Guns, No More Blood. Uh followed them up with Enough and pull it American Scream from the album Before My Eyes. Follow them up with Acid A-C-I-D-E-Z. And we are the threat from our album End Punk. We thrash and we finish with the slime and their single Real Garbage. Alright, uh I don't think I have any new bands or music on this episode. I definitely will next week. I have a few bands lined up already. Uh mainly because of uh monetary reasons. Uh because I just bought the uh the new Dead Pioneers album. Uh I didn't have any money left over to buy any other music, so you know, you'll have to wait till next week. But uh yeah, I think you're gonna like the bands I have lined up for you. Uh so let's just start off the next set with some Agent Orange. This is an app entitled song, A Cry for Help and A World Gone Mad. Right here, on this space punk show.
SPEAKER_13Sometimes I think you're old friends, but they all see the state. Then I see them and they can't remember my name. I get functions like them, I get punches of board. I can hate them, but I've never done that before. I got lots of just friends I don't want anymore. Sometimes when you lie to me, sometimes I lie to you. I wake up and it's just another bad dream I can't help myself but feel it's storage because I gave up every gesture. I know I gave up every chance I had. Can't be born, I'll always be the same.
SPEAKER_07Hate full lies, but a sale, I refuse to be tame. No way I'll get ahead and I'll use this race where no one will fake out no mouth of plan.
SPEAKER_13Just put a cheek fake, run the down No options to accept We've got opinions, want to express No way to get ahead and I'll lose a friend Square no one would think drops, no master plan. Just want to cheap Both again! High price on our heads, got a high price on our heads, got a high price on our head, got a high price on our heads.
SPEAKER_07I refuse to be changed.
SPEAKER_13Just gonna keep me from the death, I'll boss when I get it.
SPEAKER_07With nothing left to say, no tomorrow, no today, no rewards death in our way. High price on our heads, got a high price on our hands, got a high price on our heads, got a high price on our heads.
SPEAKER_13In the valley of the city, third of the world will die.
SPEAKER_12Show hooks and plows into axes and spears. As the army's been in a battle, they went to years. Then the weak say I'm a warrior.
SPEAKER_13Bring out the warriors, let them fit this remain.
SPEAKER_12Some profits and the psychic side, military are great, continual crisis, keep the straight to 113. Roll out the red, covered with the age of death blood here. To the valley of the season that I may be cared. That the weak say I'm a warrior.
SPEAKER_13Bring out the warriors, that the best we can fade. We are the biggest gun, but it's sad in the sun. No way to stop him. It's now it's too late. The anti-crisis fish up, the dead are the only lucky once. Are you ready to pitch your split and for the other team? A decision, make a decision, but I'm now here too late. Welcome, welcome to reality. Welcome, welcome to reality. Welcome, welcome to reality. Make your decision because you've got no choice.
SPEAKER_01I noticed on the other episode where uh we went like 150 some minutes, that was had a lot of downloads compared to a normal episode. And one of the things that was different about that is like basically played a variety, like all uh different types of different types of bands, but I went through the decade. So I played, you know, the stuff that I listen to most of the time that is not played on radio, like everything I just played. So let's go through it. Uh we started off with Agent Orange and a Cry for Help and a World Gone Mad or I'll be Living in the Darkness. Then we had Circle Jurks with High High Price on our Head from Golden Tower of Hits, followed by the Dan and Sick of Being Sick from Music for Pleasant. And we finished with the Adolescence and Welcome to Reality for self-titled. So I played all those songs and I think uh I think you've spoken that you like a mixture of old and new. So, um when uh before I should say uh Spotify went all ice crazy and fascist and completely fucked everything up, that was basically my playlist was the damn television, uh Scam 59, uh, you know, CG and the Banshee uh, you know, X-ray specs I I should play on this episode actually, because I fucking love them. But uh yeah along with Rancid and along with uh like the newer stuff, even all the way up to I don't know what the newer stuff I had. Besides like Lustin Jake and Pennywise, you know, 80s and 90s, Skate Punk, which obviously, but these bands that I just played, uh they kind of I don't know, they shaped how I viewed punk. Because I think I don't want to go over on a little rant, but I've noticed people complaining that a lot of new punk, or should say, especially social distortions album, it's not fast enough, it's too slow. Look at the original! These aren't not hardcore, super fast. Song. I mean some of them are, yes, but for the most part they are structured songs that still have that punk attitude. So it's not about the song, it's about the attitude. And if you say the damn isn't punk, you are in. Okay. Anyways, uh, I found another album that uh basically they're like a bunch of high-red uh versions of songs. They master them and everything. So I wanna play a bunch. A bunch. I'm gonna play four from that. Um start off with uh It's in the top. This is success.
SPEAKER_13Right here on this PlayStation show here comes success, come success over my hair Here comes success, here come success, here comes my colour, here comes my Chinese rug, here comes success, it's gonna be you in the last ditch, it I will be true, but it's the face of the crowd sexual sex, and I'm gonna go. I fall for law header, the long one, I fall for law header, the long work. I need it money, God I can I fall for lawhead, the low work, I fall for lawhead, the law works. I left my baby and it feels the bad I guess my race is run. She's the best girl that I've ever had. I fall for law heaven, the law works, I fought the law every people with a fall with the law and the low one, I followed the law, the low one, I like my gold, I like my phone, I follow the law and the low work, I followed the law ever, the low one, I left my baby and feels the best my baby. She's the best gold I've ever had. I followed the lawyer, the low work, I followed the life I followed the life, a low wine, I followed the life, a low wine, I followed the life, a low wine, I followed the life, a low one, falling for life, a low wine, I've followed the life, a low wine, I'm falling for life, a low wife, I've followed the life.
SPEAKER_03Street surprise the world was so thin between my bones and skin. There stood another person who wasn't too surprised to be faced, still face with the world So life how I felt Did you feel no?
SPEAKER_01I felt right as we go You know it's all like some new kind of drug My senses are sharp and my hands are like gloves Broadway looks so medieval It seems a flap like little pages And I fell sideways laughing with a friend from many stages How we felt Did you feel no at all I fell right into Suddenly my eyes went soft and shaky But I knew that was pain the pain is not achy Richie said Hey man let's dress a black house Think of what we can do something better than I feel I still have by a live version of holiday in Cambodia Live version Live in the uh discount with television and Venus that is from Mark Now uh the clash icon that is basically the song that got me in the car. Um when I was a kid, I I think I've called this before. My parents were very strict, especially my mom is very religious. So I was not allowed to listen to most music any kind at that time. This was like early 80s. The only thing I could listen to was the uh The Oldie Station, which is like in the 50s and 60s. So I had heard uh the original version of I Fought the Law. Off the top of my head, I cannot remember who sang it. But for some reason, at some point they played uh The Clash. They played a live version though. And that's when I first went, ooh, what is this? Who is this who is the clash? And that got me into, well, the clash, and there, the Ramones. I never really uh I don't know, I never really bied with the sex pistols. I kind of like them, but I definitely understood why they were so controversial and why they were so important to. But I didn't really get them at the time. I kind of still don't, really, to be honest. I think it's because of John Ron. He kind of is well, you've seen him lately, he's kind of doubted. Can we say that? All those songs about how he hated the queen and then when she died he came out. Oh I feel bad the queen or whatever the fucking bullshit you're saying. Anyway, it's fucking it's just great hearing the classics. And whoever re-mastered them, they sound amazing. Uh so going from classics, we will play some little uh some more bit a little bit later. I don't know what I'm trying to say right now. So we're gonna go do some newer shit. Uh starting off with the Skinner Brothers and where we come from.
SPEAKER_09Right here on this placebox enough for a night to fruit tooth. Where I come from, they don't ask for proof, no silver spoon, snaps no kung fu. Just paint a smile on and blow your money.
SPEAKER_13Cause where I come from ain't a place they wanna know Where I come from ain't a place they wanna know Where we come from ain't a place they wanna know Kids two for the top, be tight the bread.
SPEAKER_09I'll feel the only soldier, not never know that You the half-caught kit, the lowest fucking bit. So far from the top, let the bomb don't scare me. Bring it up, bring it up. I can't watch so much I love And chapelin' if I said I think I've palpitations when I hold a cooler ID made me freeze for a second as I dress my options and then I see my other industry. This is getting crazy, it's so become through a night to fluid two. Where I come from, they don't ask for proof, no silver spoon, snaps, no kung food. Just plain a smile on and blow your money.
SPEAKER_13Cause where I come from ain't a place they wanna know. Where I come from ain't a place they wanna know. Where we come from ain't a place they wanna know. Where we come from in a place they wanna know. Don't look back on your lost. Take a burning down a crap from where you stand. Don't cut out on your back. The yeshis of your less destroyed. When you get true, you're a worse than I may and I'll grow. Just want it to be.
SPEAKER_04All the bad things I'm thinking about. Swirl around in a tornado of doubt. Can I ball your mind for a day? Cause I've had it with my head, boys. Yeah, I toss and turn at night. Need to get myself all right. Where's my meditation take? Cause I've had it with my head, boys. I fear I wanna feel a king. You tell me that I wake up to fine. I'm fine.
SPEAKER_13Laying next to you. You may be right.
SPEAKER_04Cause I forgot about rumination, frustration. I can't take anymore. All the bad things I'm thinking about. Swirl around in a tornado of doubt. Can I borrow your mind for a day? Cause I'm tired with my head, boys. Yeah, I toss and turn at night. Need to get myself alright. Where's my meditation take? Cause I'm trying with my head, boys. All the bad things I'm thinking about. Swirl around in a tornado of doubt. Can I borrow your mind for a day?
unknownCause I'm telling you with my head boys.
SPEAKER_13Yeah, I toss and turn at night. Need to get myself all right. Where's my dad and teach me today?
unknownYou got to pick up the pieces. Come on, suck your fresh bell, pull yourself back together.
SPEAKER_10Maybe you have too much case.
unknownDon't become a hit on shoot.
SPEAKER_13Also go to the bird, go to TV so now we follow me.
unknownShould we shoot happiness?
SPEAKER_13She can get you to your happiness. She doesn't like some day. You watch the world to stay but you do it anyway.
unknownWatch your coast to be forgetting.
SPEAKER_13As I watched the body, I'm saying it's like a swing of basic way so that I find we're getting some minute sort of freaking sort of show me day.
SPEAKER_01Where we come from. Yeah, we are gonna turn off with party. I hear that.
SPEAKER_13Just doing what you gotta get by. And then the boss back on me takes it off. So now I'm at it down with a pistol in my pocket. Mama don't ask why. Now I'm at it down with some baggies in my pocket. I'm tired of working by the boss, yeah. Got my hands dirty in a different way Just hanging out on the curve. I need it, something just take the edge away. Oh, just a little taste, won't hurt So now I'm heading out of town with a pistol in my pocket Because I'm a town Yeah, owe a lot of money to some real bad mess.
SPEAKER_12Cause I got higher heart for the water chu-cha-cha-chick okay, okay.
SPEAKER_13You make me hard, baby, you make me breathe, baby, you make me feel this way, chuck up, okay, you grab my tea, baby, you stumble hard, baby, you take my breath away. You make me feel this way, choose okay, you grab my tea, baby, you stumble hard, baby, you take my breath away, Joe Jo, Joe, Joe, Joe, chick okay. Shop, shall we? Sarah, when you share the pitch, you can't do it. You think it's up, you think it's a cool? You might be loud, you look like a fool, man. Start around, you think that you're hard in the price, walk cars around, pop, fuck around, eat your fight. Wait, hot, it's not even 20 degrees. That's bright, 150. Watch a badge, we're taking security, a big chip lost, lumber. We got it, I'll make up the day Look around that you still a fool. Wait, try to start cool, man. Still strong, maybe don't know it's why I throw it to shame, but you think you're bad anyway. Thank you, pretty, look at the chapters. The first one, I'll be as a script. Gotcha, badge, I is a charity, that's why you're just a minority. We are JC, I'll be sitting here, people, you are saying, We are J.
unknownSay, UX, I've been seeing the day, before it's in the day, they are J Subway, J said, you have something, I don't know, I don't think, I don't know.
SPEAKER_13Stick side on my TV Police raised all kinds of protests, big brothers who raise the photos under control, we call the fight so companies no outfit so it's so funny, yeah.
SPEAKER_11So get disease, that's bad for it's more health care all the more See also, this more of us now, this more of us, more of a state downstairs, despite it.
SPEAKER_01Alright, some more, well, some newer songs, shall we say. Uh we started off with Car Thief Dirty Hands, followed by Hell Beach with Lick with Fire. Follow them up with The Vicious Blonde and Big C. And we finish with Intrusive Thoughts and More of Us Than Them. You know we uh have to add a little political music in here every once in a while, just so you remember what exactly is going on, even though I well I already discussed it earlier. Um alright, we have enough time for one more set. I'm gonna start off with a band I said I was gonna play. One of my favorites of all time. It is, of course, X-ray Specs. And uh this song is very like uh I don't know, current almost. It uh we're gonna play Art Eye Fishal right here on this PlayStunk Show.
SPEAKER_13I got my bitch, you all that I'm gonna fly on. I won't play with a fly of it, and I got you with the fly of my friendly level The back of you with the fire, I can tie a day, I'm gonna do it by the day, the lunch, the time it's by my cannon, did I put it by my cannabis, I think it's not gonna die, I don't think I'm gonna be by my cannot be an ability, I can't say the mummy clock start to float now I can't start for the door now I want to get up now, that's not what you're gonna say, I don't think that's what we got on the mind, I want to be honest with the money. We must be skin to buy the bottom that is Jamie Kano makes a stench got a dirty face there's a dirty vices, I ain't choose, and I'll fight these kids I made the fight, they're the street I got a money, but I'll fall by the shit on my gown, I think you're not playing for you on my cow We got the place you don't want to go in shoute, I'm just like, I don't know, why is it I may fight you by May, I don't find you.
SPEAKER_01Started off with X-ray specs and Art Eye Fisher from German Free Adolescence. Then we had X and Soul Kitchen from their album Los Angeles, followed by Minutemen and the Politics of Time from Double Nichols on the Dime, and we finished with Sham69 and Angels with Dirty Faces from their album That's Life. Alright, that'll do it once again for another episode. Hope you enjoyed it. Hope you found some new bands that you like. If so, head on over to Bandcamp or over to your local record store. Like I said, I just got Wagon Burner today on vinyl. From Ann Vinyl right here in Clarksville, Tennessee. In this area, check them out. Tell them Brody sent you. Uh yeah, they have a pretty good punk selection. Not only just uh newer records, they also have some used records. I mean their prices are you know between $25 and $35. So it is what it is now. Because vinyl is uh gaining popularity. There were quite a few people in there actually looking through the vinyl, so it's always a good thing and a bad thing when you're not the only one collecting something. But uh yeah, it sounds great, of course. Uh I've been listening to the digital download, like I said, ever since I got it, like last week when it first came out. So I highly recommend you go check out Dead Pioneer's Wagon Burner. As always, you can find us over on all the socials, basically Instagram and Facebook, which now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think I posted last week's episode in our Facebook group. Uh oops.
