Whatever happened to Edward Burma!

unknown

Whatever happened to Edward Burma! Whatever happened to Edward! Is he okay? Or is he lost in the game? Whatever happened to Edward Form. Whatever happened to Edward.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, Punks, drunks, and skunks. Turn that sound up loud enough for the neighbors to hear. This is the Misplaced Punk Show with your host Brody. So, grab a beer and let's go.

SPEAKER_01

All right, welcome back once again. This is the Miss Place Punk Show. I am your host, Brody. How has everyone's week been? It was very lawn. Uh very hot. I don't know where everyone else is, but it is super fucking hot here. Uh it's supposed to be over a hundred today. I was out doing a little yard work earlier for the heat, but yeah, it was still hot then. I hate this heat. Uh, but uh what else is going on? I mean, news-wise, of course, it's disabled ship. War still going on, our president's still a demented asshole. Uh yeah, not much else going on there. Locally, not much going on. Uh, hopefully, I don't know if you bother know about Tennessee, but we have Marsha Blackburn, a horrible racist, horrible, horrible MAGA. Uh, he's currently uh senator, I wanna say. He's running for governor. I wonder if we've just get out. Need new blood, we need left, you know, racist asshole. Hold down before here, but it is what it is. Uh, you know what? Let's just get right into the episode. Uh uh intro this week was from Proton Text. Whatever happened to Edward Furlong? Great question. And we started off with Pagans and Dead End America from their what's a two song sediment with another song on it. I don't know. I believe Dead End America is the A5, if I'm not mistaken. Uh or they could be, you know, two songs on each side. I don't know. Uh I can't I mean I cannot remember at the top of my head where I got that from. But it is definitely on uh bandcamp. If you didn't already pick it up on Bandcamp Friday, there'll be another one coming up in you know a couple months. I have no idea really how often they pick it up. But it's worth checking out. Uh you know, we're gonna wow. You know what? We're gonna start this first set off with some Lone Creep. This is Bougie Punk right here on this punk show.

SPEAKER_13

Dale like, dale like, dale like historias que si yo no hay show me Dale like, dale like, dale like una especie que la gente siempre mira Dale like, dale like, dale like Young pichones los que a mí siempre me envidia Dale like, dale like, dale like, buenas noches, chucha, no puedo dormir, buenas bebiendo, oh no puedo que me está pidiendo.

SPEAKER_01

That was kind of a big bag set there. We started off with Lone Creep, and this single Booy Punk, and we had Turbo Cooper, and their single Game Life, followed by the GIMP with their single No Friends, and we finish it off with Baghead and No Fleet on our album here and started off uh all four of our singles, but then probably changed it. Uh they're kind of I guess we can call them more independent bands and uh playing Lone Creep. I mean Triple Coopers, they're on a major, I mean kind of a major label in South America, but uh I don't know. I still think of them as kind of a smaller band, even though they are on a pretty good compilation. I don't know. That's what came into my head, so that's what I played. Uh so let's get rid of the next set. I am in the mood for some York dolls. This is my favorite song of their trash. Right here on this Facebook show.

SPEAKER_06

Trash won't pick it up, take them life away. Try, won't pick it up, don't take your life away. And please don't you ask me if I love you If you don't know what I'm doing, what you know here, Sas, pick it up, take them life away. Stress, let's get it up, don't pull your jump away. Stress, pick it up, don't trust, don't take my knife away. Please don't you know why I do a nose Fire Speak it up, take their lights away Fire, pick it up, don't take my knife away. Fire, speak it up, I take them all away Please don't tell everything I love you don't know to a chill I'm about to watch it I'll wake you love you I don't talk to you I don't talk to you I just don't know if I do I jump down if I do Uh how do you call your love a boy? Try it, pick it up, take that life away Try us, pick it up, don't put that life away Try it, pick it up, don't take your life away Try, get it up, don't throw your love away Speak it up, don't take my life away Try, pick it up, don't take them all away Stry, pick it up, don't take my life away, my sweet day, pick it up, take the light away, pick it up, don't take my night away, pick it up, don't take my light away, pick it up, don't take my night away, oh slightly Don't take my night away, oh to us Don't take my night away, oh to us Don't take my night away, oh to us in me, pocket on the best I'm gonna take it.

SPEAKER_07

So did the cashier once I say I'm in the jaws, I'm in the jaws.

SPEAKER_06

All you gotta tell me now is wow, wow, wow, wow. Welcome to that work in a week. Oh, I know it don't fail you, I hope it don't kill you. Welcome to that work in a week. You gotta do it till you do it, so you better get to it. All of your family had to kill to survive. And just the waiting for their big day to arrive. Welcome to that work in a week. Oh, I know it don't drill you. I hope it don't kill you. Welcome to that work in a week. You gotta do it to be doing, so you're better getting to it. I hear you saying if the shit is alright. When you're owner in a bad enough. Spend all your mountain getting some conference that you're never even out of us. Sometimes I wonder if we're living in the same land. Glad you wanna be my friend when I feel like the children running out of hands. Welcome to that work in a week. Oh my, welcome to the work in a week. Down the street, the Ellie, the Sally, I never tried to church, you never sell it, but she was hate back, face the other, she was paying back, faith, she was killed back, the other, you know, you know, you know, you want you to see what we want, these functions.

SPEAKER_01

We started off with one of the great New York Dolls, the craft or something. Then we had the flip with Coplifty from Cut, followed by Elvis Craftello, and welcome to the Work Week from My Aim is True, and we finished with Debo and Space Junk. From of course, Are We Not Men? We are Debo. Uh yeah, I don't know, that made me th that song made me think of Elon Musk and SpaceX and how he went to play like I don't remember how many thousand uh New satellites in the space. Space junk. Junk up our the space out. Will it do anything? Will it actually help? Probably not. Will it just make him more money and fuck us over somehow? Probably. That's kind of what they do. And of course, I couldn't leave out Elvis. Uh couldn't leave out Elvis Castello's welcome to the work week. I thought, I don't know, maybe some of you will be listening to it uh tomorrow on Monday, so that just seemed very appropriate. Um, and I just I love Elvis Costello. Like I always say he's the the better Elvis, the non-pedophile Elvis. Because uh, yeah, we all know the other Elvis loved them 14-year-old girls, didn't he? Yes, he did. Um not that there aren't problems in the punk. Yeah, there are plenty of problems in the punk. But uh, we tried to avoid them and we try to stop playing them when we find out about them. If I do play someone that there is problems with, let me know. I will stop supporting them, stop uh supporting them, and uh yeah, they won't be played on the show anymore. Uh but uh that was from the 70s, so now let's get into a brand new well, not brand new, but a month or two old. Uh compilation, volume three of uh Coffee Curse Tribute to Green Day. Uh I do not have volumes one or two yet. I know they offered it uh Operation Ivy uh triggered out. That was pretty good. I don't have that yet either. But hey! I always say I do not make money from the show. So, you know, this is what we can do to try and play all this awesome music. I do play as much as I can, I do buy as much as I can. And uh this happens to have one of our good buddies, Ricky Rochelle. So I'm gonna start off with his cover of 2000 Lightyears away, right here on this place com show.

SPEAKER_02

I sit alone in my bedroom, staring at the wall. I feel a ball there, my ball, my boss beat it, but it's gonna be all right, right, close my eyes dead. I did outside and watch it on eye as far as I can. I can't see her, but it is dead. I use the laughter, we live together. I feel in my background. I feel in my ball, my ball can be in with love is turning in. I hold my breath and close my eyes again. I need to do sounds in my ears away. Oh never let go. I need to do sounds in my ears away.

SPEAKER_06

I love me your daughter. Now let's all of Madarate. Pledge allegiance to the underworld, one nation underdog there, which I still A face in the crowd, a tongue against the boat, without a doubt, single that's the only way I know I wanna be a minority. I don't feel right, down with the ball on the Dorothy, I'm on a face, I'm an alright, step down the time. What light, one eyes, flashing in the dark, blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts for crying out loud, state scripting me, I'm free for all fuck them all. I wanna be the dog, I don't be on a dog, down with the ball from my dog, I wanna be on my dog. What i flashing at the dark, blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts, but crying out loud, shakes grow on the bay, afraid for all the fuck them all, yo and y'all recycle.

unknown

I wanna be on my dog running. I don't think I'm a dog running, I'm a dog running, I'm a dog run.

SPEAKER_06

Lots of guts, I can say that you've got your safe. Open up the door, life on you, be coming back, and a life Like a dog, that you fist on your bug to take up. Let you tell you on the buttons, take up the love. Now you made everything in your take-up. It's a wave, don't still keep my dry-up. What could I done? Lied on the coming back home, and I've taken Sake got the problem, say that it's all right. On the breakup, stop in front of my head.

SPEAKER_01

Uh the first two albums before Goofy were fantastic, and then Goofy was kind of uh new level. I remember driving around laughing at when I was a teenager, and uh it's still good, it still holds up. Definitely hold up if you can find them. I would love to get those on uh vinyl, but it'll probably cost me like $80 or something. I don't know. We'll figure it out. Uh let's see, we started off with Ricky Rochelle and 2,000 Lightyears away. And we had Thief and the Fifth. I had no idea they were on there. Love those guys. With their cover of Minority, followed them up with Noodle Brain and Sick of Me. Finish with Black Budget and Panic Song. Um not my favorites of Green Day, but definitely one I play a lot. I always played uh Minority. I love that. I don't I know a lot of albums get to be. I find I know the uh the uh Uno Girls Prey albums weren't all that great. Uh never listening to Uno Liked don't remember the other two, which probably says a lot. Could be just me. I re-listened to them, I might like them, but I don't know. At the moment, not my favorite. But uh, you know what? Let's continue on with a this was definitely one of my favorite bands. Uh they just released their album Wagon Burner. Still playing it, still loving it. Of course I'm talking about Dead Pioneers. Here is No King. Right here on this place on the show.

SPEAKER_21

Morality over mercy, punishment over health, punish the poor, drop up wealth. America's best export is just lies. A pig's lipstick is the American prize. You cover your face, but we can see American fruit lickers bend a knee. Compassion over hate, I can feel the weight. The oppressive force, I refuse to endorse. No kings, no masters. An American disaster, no kings, no masters Kicking gets the fascist bastards Kill the cold, cheap as you, classless, classist, political coup racist attack, race, despite birthplace, division on our backs, sort of packs, bullets over bodies, over kids' heads, greed over life, empty kids, beds, citizens for slaughter, never to come back. One percent dead, make a beard and shred. No kings, no masters, an American disaster, no kings, no masters, kick against a fascist bastard In a system designed for depression to thrive, it's no wonder. In a system designed for oppression to thrive, it's no wonder. In a system designed for white supremacy to thrive, it's no wonder in a system designed for a classroom to thrive, it's no wonder in a system designed for grifters to thrive, it's no wonder in a system designed for oligarchy to thrive, it's no wonder in a system designed for genocide to thrive, it's no wonder in a system designed for death to thrive.

SPEAKER_06

It's no wonder No kings, no masters, an American disaster, no kings, no masters, kick against the fascist bastards, kick against the fascist bastards, arc and your golden toilet No spikes that I'm premium though it fails, like it always won. Here I go up what we come. This head is great for one. I'll let the letter on one day.

SPEAKER_01

I really wish there was a way that I could be doing this uh live, like an actual radio program, but maybe at some point we'll figure out how to do something kind of like code, but we'll have to have to hear pre-recording. Anyway, that's enough with that. That was no matter what you wake up. That was really good. They're still going from or are we quite if you saw the video for uh photo of story for doing the recording. Hope I didn't do that and make it up. We are all this excited and uh hopefully we hear uh new stuff from I know everyone didn't like the last album was on before, one of them people kind of killed. It was decent. I mean one of the people that oh my god. That's why I mean there's people who think they have the new uh soft distortion is gone. I call them crazy people. But the next step we're gonna start off with the femur and the heart girl.

While I struggle through the wake Just like I suffered through the restless month Now the wake has come around Gonna dance all over time Dance are ringing in my head too night for me to do This feeling strangle in my throat I need to cheat, but I know I won't Oh god the letters I better not I'm crashing, I'm crashing through the good time I see my friends fade out I tell them keep on keeping on I watch the writing of this one that we can't start gone They're still leaning in my head That's it's too nice for me to tip This fill it's strangling my throat I need to teach but I know I won't Oh god don't let this happen I'm crashing I'm crashing through the good time Is it all just regularly What the fuck is going on Standing in the crowd on my own It all goes on and on and on Your music in my head I think I'm fine with what I be gone Strangers comes pouring down my throat Got it I won't gotta do this all again Come on let's do this all again Just go crashing through the good time that I think don't get played in started with We Hungry and Destiny from the album The Stars Alive, followed by Method Tramps with Beat You Down, great single. Then we had X with Soul Kitchen from their album Los Angeles and we finished with Bad Mouth and Crashing from their subtitled E. Alright, we have enough time for one more set, and we're going back to the uh the Green Day tribute from Coffin Curse Records. We are going to start with another one of my favorites actually. Um this is uh a great song and a great cover by Kate Major.

My eyes feel like they're gonna bleed. Right up in bulge in on my skull. My mouth is dry, my face is numb. Fuck the pin's fun and mouth on my own here we go. My mind is back on overdrive. The clock is not fitted in my face, a cricket spy, sensors. That's the point of the wheel. Oh my god, you thought it's like they're gonna be dry the water on my score. Face that nock up is my own.

It's been three or weeks since that I have left your home. This sudden fear has left me trembling Cause now it seems that though I'm out here, am I owned? And I'm feeling so well Chit to the track street send up Some coming fun, some calling nice I wanna get through a waste letter like some call my home Welcome to paradise A gush out rings out at the station One other rush and snaps and left dead on its own It makes me wonder why I'm still there For some strange reason it's now feeling like my home And I never move on a go to the track street set of getting homes Some call them fun, some call them nice I wanna take through a waste that I like to call my home Welcome to paradise. I miss now feel a bit like my home And I never wanna go to chip to the crack streets and the broken homes Some come in fun, some call them nice I don't wanna chicken through a waste where I like to call my home welcome to paradise to paradise Do you have the time to listen to me whine about nothing or everything all I wise? I am one of those melodramatic fools, erotic to the boat, no doubt about it. Sometimes I give myself the grips Sometimes my mind play streaks on me all gets enough Am I just paranoid from my desktop sex and breaking words my life So quit my wife give myself a couple of time for my store, I'm gonna go ahead and get the bigger than the biggest one.

SPEAKER_01

God damn it. Coffin Curse Records. Uh yeah. These are some of my favorite songs again. Uh it is a 59 song compilation. Uh it was $20. Four songs were, I guess, bonus. Um what that means, I guess that's only on the digital. I'm not 100% sure. I had to look at the songs that come on the vinyl. Uh I don't know if uh there are any vinyl left. But I would assume there's maybe a few. Or if they're not, it's already gone. Probably gone. Um, anyways, we started that set off with Kit Major and a great cover of Brain Stew, followed by Lost Dead Kings, with Kitchen a Ride. That was uh, I'll say a Rockabilly cover. Really, I mean, not what I was expecting, that is for sure. Follow them up with Flinch and a great cover of Welcome to Paradise. And we finished with Mickey Bang, and an acoustic cover of Basket Case. Probably the most known song from Dookie. It's gotta be up there. That or Brainstew, that's a well-known one. But uh, anyways, great stuff, like I said. Definitely worth the money. That is volume three. I do not have the other two at this moment. Uh I probably will be picking them up at some point. I don't know how many songs are on both of them. I would assume similar. But uh I think there's some good bands on there. I can't remember, I haven't really looked in a while. But this definitely had some great songs, great covers. And some uh some friends of ours. I didn't realize that uh so many were already on a compilation. Anyways. Uh this has been a great show, I think. Uh, for being so fucking hot out. Hopefully, wherever you're listening to this, uh you're trying to stay cool. It's crazy. I this is why I do not like summer anymore. I don't remember ever being this hot when I was a kid. Well, obviously it definitely was not. I would have never been outside in what is it, 94 degree weather? No thank you. But as always, you can find us over on the socials, Instagram, Facebook, threads if you're bored. Um, we're not on X, because well, fuck Elon. I figured as many times as we say fuck Elon on the show, he probably wouldn't want us on X, anyways. Which is good, because again, fuck Elon. Anyways, um as always you can email us over at uh misplacepunk at proton.me. Or if you're more uh inclined to misplacepunk at gmail.com. Anytime you want, you can send us a link to a new single you have on Bandcamp or anywhere else. You can send us the single if you want to. We happily take songs all the time. Even if you're not on uh Bandcamp, I had one band I can't remember right now, but they had me uh download the music off of YouTube. So hey, it doesn't bother me. As long as it sounds good and you're a good band, I will happily play it. I am always looking forward to finding new bands and new songs and almost new genres. I've seen some weird ones. I don't remember what it was now. Yeah. It's like I it wasn't like it. Anyways, I'll figure it out. You know, post it up on the uh the Facebook group, see if anyone else knows what that is. But uh I believe that's everything. Of course, if you want to support the show, there is a link down in the description. I still don't have uh Patreon. Uh I really don't have much time, so I want to add like new uh material with maybe have like interviews, but I still have time to interview anyone. I only have like one day a week to do pretty much everything. So when time frees up, maybe I will add interviews. I've already had several people saying they would love to sit down and chat with me. So and if you're interested in that, let me know. Maybe I can figure it out before anything happens. Hopefully, I will be meeting with a uh HR rep from Amsterdam sometime this week. The uh HB back from holiday tomorrow. Hopefully, uh I'll get a hold of him and I can set this shit up. I would love to be in Amsterdam. Uh, anyways. Uh yeah, that should do it. Gonna leave you with I don't I can't remember where I heard this group. Uh I I don't know if it was on another podcast or it was just recommended to me on uh fan camp, but it's really good. They are really good, I should say, and they have a brand new single, so I thought, why not? This is the Space Monkey Mafia and their new single, Fuck Ice. I have been your post Brody and this has been Miss Place Punk Show. Everyone have a great fucking week.
