Hi there. Welcome to the simple SEO content podcast. I am your host, Rachel Lindteigen. And today we are talking about how to get your business's website to the top of the Google search results. Because being at the top of the Google search results will drive more traffic to your business. Because consumers trust the organic search results. And we see a huge increase in the click-through rate, meaning the number of people who see your listing. Who click the higher you are on the page. So if we can get your business ranking at the top of the page, we can get a lot more traffic coming to your website. More traffic to your website should mean more leads and more sales. If your website is able to convert that traffic to customers. So, how do we get there? The first thing that we want to do is identify keywords that are going to be. A priority keywords for your business. Meaning these keywords are ones that your ideal customer uses that tie to a product or service, or they answer a question where your product or service is the ultimate solution for it. That your website can rank at the top of Google for. So we really need to be really careful when we're choosing keywords to ensure that we're choosing ones that are going to be a good fit from a ranking standpoint and a traffic standpoint and our customers search intent. So it's really important that we choose keywords that we can rank for, because if we can't get to the top of the search results, We're never going to get the traffic. That our customer uses because of our customers not searching with the keyword. We can rank at the top of Google, but we're not going to get any traffic because nobody's looking for that word. So it makes no difference. And that has the right search intent, because we want to make sure that. What the searcher is looking for with that keyword is actually contained within the page. That's ranking for that keyword so that they have a good search experience. They consume the content. They learn to get to know who you are like you trust you, et cetera. So first things first we choose the right key word. We need to choose a keyword that you can rank for that they're using that has the right search intent. So that's going to be your most important part is choose the right keyword. Then you're going to create really great content. Google wants your content to be helpful, and it wants it to show E-E-A-T that's your experience, your expertise, your authority, and your trust. Google grades, content. On these factors, does this person have experience doing this? Are they an expert? Do they have authority within their industry? And are they trustworthy? This is what they're looking at as they're grading websites today. And they're trying to understand because they want to make sure they're showing the very best search results to the searcher who is trying to find an answer. They also want to make sure that your content is helpful to your ideal customer. So you need to be able to provide value and anticipate their questions and answer their questions appropriately and thoroughly. Go ahead and share some anecdotes and examples. And like, if you're doing a review on something, talk about the fact that you did the review. Maybe you've used this in four competitors. Show pictures really help create. A good reader experience because that's truly what Google's looking for. Ad video ad. Photos, whatever you have, that's going to help make this a better experience for the reader. Google's going to reward that. Then you want to optimize that really great content piece. Using your keyword that you chose, that you can verify that you can rank for. From there. You want to use your keyword in. All of the places. That Google is going to look. So Google's going to look for. Clues as to what your website is about. In very specific places, your title tag, your meta-description. Your URL, your copy, your header tags, your image file names, your image alt text. If you're not sure what each of these are, how to use them, how to write them for Google. Do yourself a favor pop on over to my website. Go to the freebies tab, etchedmarketing.com/freebies and request a copy of my SEO content. Quick start guide. It's going to walk you through all of this along with all the rules for how you format them for Google. So you're going to optimize that content. Then you're going to publish it on your website. You are going to need to create more content. One content piece, one blog post one website page is not going to be enough because Google remember Google wants people who are experts and authorities. They want to rank your website. E-E-A-T is not a ranking factor. However, it's going to come into play. So you need to have content that you're creating on a regular basis that addresses these questions that your ideal customer has, that you can rank for the keywords that you optimize with. And you're creating this really great content. That's truly the way to get your business to the top of Google search results is by continually creating content for your ideal customer. Keeping them in mind answering their questions, providing value to them, being helpful to them. And optimizing that content for Google using different keywords do not use the same keyword in every optimization that you do for all these different pages that you create, but use different keywords that are unique to each page or blog post and optimize those. Following the process. I teach you in the quick start guide, go ahead and take my free SEO class as well. That's going to really help you understand how to do this. You can get your business to the top of Google search results. Fairly quickly and easily. As long as you are choosing keywords that you can rank for, you're creating great content and you're optimizing it. You got to do all three to be able to get there. And you need to create that content on a regular basis because Google does want to make sure. That you have authority. In that niche area that you're writing about. So don't create content that's on 10 different subjects. Pick some core. Pieces pillars areas that you're going to talk about. And then create content that answers questions within that section. I always tell my students to tie their content pillars. To their business so that they are providing value for their ideal customer on a regular basis. My content pillars include content marketing, blogging, search engine optimization, and marketing strategy, or overall small business marketing. So that gives you an idea. You're going to see. Blog posts and content and things for me on how to do different parts of SEO, how to do things related to blogging or content marketing. You're going to see pieces on overall marketing strategy, how to get. Traffic to a website using multiple channels, how to get traffic to a website using SEO, how to get your business to the top of the Google search results, et cetera, everything that I write about ties back to one of those four areas. I want you to come up with a plan like that, where you have three or four areas that you write about, and then you continually create content. On those areas, choosing keywords you can rank for and optimizing them properly for Google, so that you have a better chance of getting your business to the top of the Google search results multiple times.
