Hi there and welcome back to the simple SEO content podcast. I'm your host, Rachel Lindteigen and today I want to talk to you about how you get more keywords to rank. If you are like most of my students or my clients, then you, my friend probably would like to be found at the top of Google for lots of keywords or lots of searches so that you get more traffic to your website. It's actually pretty easy. The way that we do this is by consistently creating really great content that is optimized following Google's rules, meaning we're doing everything that Google wants us to do to drive traffic to the website. And we're using a bunch of different key words. So that's the gist of it. But let's talk about this a little bit. What do you do? How do you make it all happen? So when you are creating content for your ideal customer, You know, you should be creating content on a consistent basis. We've already talked about that. You want to create one blog, post or audio podcast, video, whatever it is each week, if you want to use SEO search engine optimization to drive free traffic to your content, then you're going to need to have a blog landing page on your website. Something that has. Information for Google to read an index and understand. Because Google still truly relies on written word more than your video, your audio, et cetera, your audio and video are a plus. They're a bonus. They help boost your engagement. They help keep people on your site, but if you want SEO, you need. Written words that Google can read. On your website. So with that said, you're going to create one new page or one new post each week. And each time you create a new page or a new post, you're going to target a different key word. This is really important because Google is only going to rank you a maximum of two times, meaning they're only going to show your website, your blog posts two times for any given keyword, which means if you keep targeting the same keyword, every time you write a blog post, or every time you add content to your website, you're limiting yourself. So if you want more visibility, more. Traffic more people finding you. You need to consistently create content. And target unique keywords in each content piece, beyond that, you need to make sure that the keywords that you're targeting are ones that your website can rank for. What do I mean by that? I mean, you need to make sure that you're choosing keywords where you can rank on page one of Google search results. In order to get traffic from those keywords, because if you can't rank on page one, Nobody's going to find you. Nobody's going to see your, your blog posts, your website page, nobody's going to come to your website. So how do you figure out if the keyword that you're thinking about using is one that you can rank on page one for the easy way to do this is to take the keyword that you've thought about using that you've researched, go to Google, use an incognito browser window. That's one that is. Not going to have your personalized search results impacting what you see. Use an incognito window. I put the keyword that you're considering using into Google. I want you to look, to see who ranks on page one. Most importantly, who's in positions like one, two and three, because the sites that are on page one need to be very similar to you for you to have a chance to rank. And if you can't rank, you can't get traffic. So we want to see sites that are really similar to you. If you go to page one, you look through all the results there. And they're really big sites. Like they're big brands, they're big companies. They're really super authoritative sites. You, my friend probably need to choose a different keyword because you're not going to beat them. It's nothing that you're doing wrong. It's nothing like that. It's just the fact that these. Results are more competitive, more authoritative websites. So you need to look for a different keyword if you want to rank. And if you want to use SEO to drive traffic, you have to rank because nobody's going to go to page two, looking for you. 99% of all searchers stay on page one. So you've got to be on page one. So I want you to find a keyword that you have a really good chance of ranking for if you're not sure how to do this. And you really want to learn and you want to get it done the right way. Join me in simple SEO content. I go deep dive on this and teach you exactly how to do this. This is honestly the most challenging part of SEO is to learn and figure out what content to create and then how to optimize that content. So that it gets traffic from Google. Once you fully understand how that works. It becomes a rinse and repeat process. It's a whole lot easier. But if you want. Lots of people to find you lots of keywords to rank, uh, lots of traffic coming from free traffic sources like SEO. You need to consistently create content each week and you need to optimize each post that you're creating with unique keywords. So different keywords. Following Google's rules and making sure that the keywords you're choosing are ones that your website can rank for. It truly is that easy. The benefit of getting multiple keywords to rank is that you now have multiple chances for new followers, new people to find your business on Google, to click through, to come to your website, to become raving fans, to become buyers, to become your customers. But you're. You're not going to have that happen. Unless you work with Google. And you choose keywords that you can rank for. All right. If you have questions, I know this was a super quick and easy short lesson, but if you have questions, um, DME on Instagram, if you're not yet signed up, if you haven't got the SEO content quick start guide or taken the free class, make sure you do both of those, because those are going to help you learn more about using SEO to get keywords, to rank, to drive traffic, to boost your sales, to create the life that you want to live.
