Something has been stirring up within me over the last few weeks and now I feel like it’s time to speak up and let y’all know my thoughts on this podcast.
The whole concept of generational healing is something that keeps coming up again and again, so I wanted to get into just how much of a dynamic role it plays when it comes to both us as individuals, and in terms of building our businesses.
Did you know that women of color are establishing businesses at a faster rate than any other demographic out there? While this is amazing, the problem is that women of color aren’t making anywhere near as much money as other demographics. We’re either failing in our entrepreneurial endeavors or we’re content with mediocrity when it comes to financial earnings.
In order to understand why this is happening, we need to take a close look at what’s needed in terms of generational healing. For me, it boils down to two key issues: value and worth.
But know this...
Things have changed, somewhat. Opportunities are opening up all around you, and your voice matters. Thanks to the likes of Facebook and countless other platforms, your voice can now be heard.
On the other hand, just because you simply state a price, it doesn’t mean you’re going to get paid that amount. In order to get paid, you actually have to show up and do the work. You have to learn how to articulate why you’re worth the amount you're charging. Afterward, you have to continually show up and deliver.
Understand that there is no glass ceiling on your earning potential when you know how to sell and communicate the value of your skillset. The only limit is yourself.
