This is a BEDTIME MEDITATION focusing on the theme of Patience.

Thank you to our subscribers, Cala, for this Outer Sunset neighborhood in San Francisco location inspiration!

Kids are guided into a very relaxing moment at home in their cozy beds, where they focus on their breathing while listening to an audio quiet time activity. 

This meditation can be used as a nighttime routine before bed is to help them ease into slumber land, or also before nap.

The Breathing Practice for this month is Heart Diamond breathing.

Big Belly Breathing (BBB) is an audio program primarily for kids in English and French focusing on health and wellness, started by Vanessa Hutchinson-Szekely.

As a teacher, a parent of bilingual kids & a yoga instructor/social emotional learner facilitator and holistic health & wellness coach, Vanessa wants to encourage children to thrive through establishing daily health habits.

Healthy Habits = Happy Kids

While listening, kids learn techniques to increase their creativity and attention spans. By practicing mindfulness, breathing, & gratitude kids experience mini-moments of deep rest that help them to reset, restore and recalibrate.

In today's busy world of multi-tasking, BBB is a place to help kids get centered, grounded and feel good. By practicing techniques learned here, kids develop their own self-care rituals, routines and habits.

These tools benefit their mind, body and heart health and set them up for greater joy in their present lives, and as adults.

So that kids aren't the only ones reaping these benefits, Vanessa has also included meditations specifically for older teens or adults!

My name is Vanessa Hutchinson-Szekely, and I'm delighted to guide you on this soothing ocean bedtime journey filled with mindfulness and gentle breathing.

As we embark on a mesmerizing nighttime odyssey guided by the gentle whispers of the ocean breeze and the rhythmic lullaby of the waves, picture yourself strolling along the expansive Ocean Beach, where the golden sands stretch out to meet the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean. The air is crisp, and the stars twinkle above, reflecting in the calm waters. In this serene setting, where the waters are often not calm, practice the art of patience, much like the ebb and flow of the tides. Allow the soothing sounds of the ocean to carry you through, embracing the patience it takes to navigate the unpredictable yet beautiful waves of life.

Our next destination on this magical journey is the iconic Windmill. Feel the soft grains of sand beneath your feet as you stroll down the beach towards the Windmill, and listen to the soothing melody of the ocean waves. Step away from the beach, cross into the soft cool grass of Golden Gate Park as you approach the windmill.  A tranquil glow illuminates the path, leading you to a hidden doorway. As you ascend, notice the calming rustle of the eucalyptus trees, whispering tales of patience in the night.

Reaching the top, you're greeted by the windmill's gentle hum, harmonizing with the Pacific breeze. Take a moment to absorb the breathtaking view of the moonlit ocean and the distant lights of the city. In this peaceful sanctuary, feel weightless, carried by the tranquility that surrounds you. Inhale the invigorating scent of eucalyptus, heightening your senses as you practice our heart diamond breathing. Picture a beautiful heart forming as you take a big breath in, and then imagine a glowing diamond as you slowly exhale. Let the soothing aroma and rhythmic breathing guide you through this enchanted journey, embracing patience in the embrace of nature's wonders.

Leaving the Windmill behind, a magical encounter awaits you. A playful sea otter joins your serene adventure, floating effortlessly in the moonlit waves. Inhale, imagining the otter's playful antics, and exhale, mimicking its joyful sighs. Together, you and the sea otter glide along the shore, sharing a dance of patience and playfulness under the starlit sky.

Now, let's deepen your relaxation by connecting with the enchantment of the Outer Sunset night.
