After graduating from State University of New York at Stony Brook, Dan joined the floor at the New York Mercantile Exchange, where he traded his own accounts in energy futures: crude oil, natural gas, gasoline and heating oil.
Dan is the author of three books on energy markets: “Shale Boom, Shale Bust: The Myth of Saudi America,” published in 2014; “Oil’s Endless Bid: Taming the Unreliable Price of Oil to Secure Our Economy,” published in 2015 and "Turning Oil Green: A Market-Based Path to Renewables," published in 2020.
Dan also runs The Energy Word, which is a subscription service for investors.
