On episode #14 I’m joined by the 9th overall selection in the 2023 CFL draft, Francis Bemiy. Francis and I discuss his football journey up until this point.
Francis grew up in Montreal, Quebec, where he began playing football in the 9th grade. Francis decided after 2 years of high school football in Canada he would move to California for a better opportunity to finish his high school career. After being ineligible to play for the University of Connecticut, Francis would find a home for 5 years with the University of Southern Utah. Francis would go on to play in almost every game during his time at Southern Utah and be a key contributor to the DL rotation. After finishing his university career in the fall of 2022, Francis started preparing to hear his name called in the 2023 CFL draft. Francis is very excited to get out to the beautiful province of British Columbia for the first time and begin his professional career with the BC Lions.
