Aron Price [00:00:00]:
Maybe that's why Hollywood's struggling with movies, because there's so much good content of documentaries and TV shows out there.
Matt Every [00:00:05]:
It's a ton of weirdos, dude.
Aron Price [00:00:07]:
Any good movies lately?
Matt Every [00:00:09]:
Oh, let's see.
Aron Price [00:00:10]:
I watched that one with Tom Hanks, so that was pretty good. Bit depressing.
Scott Riley [00:00:15]:
Otto?
Aron Price [00:00:15]:
Otto
Scott Riley [00:00:16]:
Yeah, I did. I watched 80 for Brady last night with the kids. Yeah, it's pretty good.
Aron Price [00:00:23]:
Was it freaking I mean, like, why.
Scott Riley [00:00:26]:
Am I watching Tom Brady on the old Sally Field? And yeah.
Matt Every [00:00:28]:
Was Tom Brady in the movie?
Scott Riley [00:00:30]:
He was. And he was in there like Bronx in there. So Gronk sure, there was a yeah, I don't think Gronk even played in that Super Bowl. It was the Atlanta choke job.
Aron Price [00:00:39]:
28 three.
Scott Riley [00:00:40]:
Yeah. It made me wonder how many movie crews are following certain sport teams around to go through their World Series and be like, hey, we had these actors that were kind of saw this as a cool story. All right, welcome back to another episode of Straight Down the Middle. We are live. Can you get a mic check on that?
Matt Every [00:01:02]:
Hello.
Scott Riley [00:01:03]:
Wow, listen to that. We got Scott Tool joining us today. Welcome to the casting couch. And what episode are we on? Host 1718.
Aron Price [00:01:13]:
If it's a casting couch, I don't want to be on it.
Matt Every [00:01:17]:
What do you mean? That's your couch.
Scott Riley [00:01:19]:
There's been a lot of dogs take naps on that couch.
Aron Price [00:01:25]:
We thought we'd get Scott on. He's taking a break from busy orders.
Matt Every [00:01:29]:
Scott is the brains, the brains and the muscle behind LFG.
Scott Riley [00:01:35]:
He is the machine. An absolute workhorse.
Aron Price [00:01:39]:
Co operations.
Matt Every [00:01:40]:
That's right. Somebody's got to do the grunt work. And former third baseman for your Florida State Seminoles shortstop. Shortstop? My bad. I mean, I started at third quite a few games. Yeah, started at short. 3rd, 2nd, 1st, left and right field. How many times did you go to Omaha? Zero times. One game away, two years.
Scott Riley [00:02:02]:
Jeez.
Matt Every [00:02:02]:
Lost to Notre Dame my senior year as the number one overall seed. Hosted the super regional. What year was that? 2002. Okay.
Scott Riley [00:02:12]:
21 brutal ago.
Aron Price [00:02:14]:
Glory days.
Matt Every [00:02:15]:
Isn't that crazy how long ago that was?
Scott Riley [00:02:18]:
I know, and it flies by. And now you're the one doing the coaching and getting in the arguments with umpires.
Aron Price [00:02:24]:
Makes me fucking sick. That was 21 years ago.
Matt Every [00:02:27]:
I know, right?
Scott Riley [00:02:28]:
Right. And Florida State missed their first just postseason in baseball for the first time in 45 years this year.
Matt Every [00:02:37]:
Wait, that one sting. This year. Right now, yeah. They didn't even make it to the.
Scott Riley [00:02:42]:
ACC tournament losing record.
Matt Every [00:02:44]:
Wow, the Gators are loaded this year. It's been are they? I'm going to take Liam over there. SEC tournaments this week in Birmingham, but we're not going there. But when they go over to Gainesloo for the Register Super Regionals you can paint me. Apparently Florida's new baseball stadium is pretty sick.
Scott Riley [00:03:02]:
Yeah. Got to invest some resources into baseball in Florida. They won a couple of titles or won recently, I believe. Let's talk about golf.
Aron Price [00:03:14]:
Yeah. So we're back after, like, a two or three week hiatus.
Matt Every [00:03:18]:
It's been a mess here at LFG. I've been doing TV. Aaron's been doing realtor porn.
Aron Price [00:03:23]:
Playing golf.
Matt Every [00:03:24]:
Golf. Playing golf. How many of you ticked off this year, like, top 100 courses?
Aron Price [00:03:31]:
I don't know, but I got four in the top 25 in two weeks. The Bakers Bay member. Guess. I think we spoke about that last time. Then six rounds of five days in Chicago came back, and then tied my US Open qualifier into Marion. And then National Golf Links.
Scott Riley [00:03:48]:
How long?
Aron Price [00:03:49]:
Stampedon.
Scott Riley [00:03:49]:
How long did it take you to map out this kind of trip?
Aron Price [00:03:52]:
Doc Redmond asked me to get a tree farm this past weekend. I couldn't go.
Matt Every [00:03:55]:
It's the top 24, top Hunter course.
Aron Price [00:03:58]:
Tree farm. No, that's cool. How many have I done?
Scott Riley [00:04:01]:
No, how long did it take you to map out this trip?
Aron Price [00:04:05]:
The Chicago one, six months ago. And then when I signed up for the same day you did, the last day that you could sign up for the US Open. Locals. There was, like, three left. Matt took the Rochester one, I took the Scranton. Scranton, Pennsylvania, which was a good course, by the way. Huntsville. And I did three. Putt the last from 18ft to miss.
Scott Riley [00:04:25]:
Yeah, but you were pretty close.
Aron Price [00:04:27]:
Yeah, and then I just started thinking about who's a member, where Tug Mord is a member at Marion. So reached out, and Marion is freaking insane, by the way. And those courses out east. I know enough friends are friends before Memorial Day, you can go unaccompanied.
Scott Riley [00:04:43]:
Did you get, like, a full experience at Marion? Get to eat dinner there and go down and see the collection of memorabilia.
Aron Price [00:04:52]:
That clubhouse is a composite of, like, 40 rooms. These tiny rooms.
Scott Riley [00:04:59]:
Yeah, I got a little trophy room pamphlet. It's the same course where Bobby Jones closed out his grand slam.
Aron Price [00:05:07]:
Tug was the best host. Taught me. Justin Rose is a full paying member there. They offered him honor, and he goes, Nah, I'll pay. Yeah, so Tug was the best host. And we played with Trey, maroochi and Sam, a good buddy of mine. So had an amazing day, of course, in great shape. They just played like, the member member or something. It was an awesome experience. Marion is great.
Scott Riley [00:05:31]:
Mattie, what about your local qualifying?
Matt Every [00:05:33]:
I gassed exploits. I gassed the US Amateur at Marion. Whatever year that was lost to him.
Aron Price [00:05:41]:
The other Molinari. Yeah.
Scott Riley [00:05:43]:
Forgot. That was Marion.
Matt Every [00:05:44]:
Yeah. Final eight. It was just fucking nuts.
Aron Price [00:05:48]:
Of course. Is so good.
Matt Every [00:05:49]:
Long story, but let's hear it. All right, then we'll get into what were you asking me?
Scott Riley [00:05:54]:
I was seeing how you did local.
Aron Price [00:05:55]:
But you didn't go to Section wrong.
Matt Every [00:05:58]:
Sparks brought tennis shoes up there, and it was wet and wet.
Aron Price [00:06:02]:
Bent.
Scott Riley [00:06:03]:
You're playing New York in May.
Matt Every [00:06:04]:
That just sounds like an excuse. It probably is.
Aron Price [00:06:08]:
Back to Marion, back to US open this year. So I three putted at 18 foot. I thought I had to hold it, so I ran it by. I pulled it. Wicked putt, as usual. So then as a playoff for the first alternate, there's five of us. This is worth getting because first alternates always get in. Well, I end up getting second alternate out of the five in the playoff. But they just sent a letter. I don't know Keegan Bradley, who's bad because he's already in. If someone who's 75th in the world goes to do the Monday and they pull out, we can't replace them anymore. I think it's a new rule. I can only replace a local qualifier. I ain't getting in first. Altman ain't getting no local qualifiers. Not turning up.
Scott Riley [00:06:47]:
You got to be on site.
Aron Price [00:06:48]:
All the Tour players are the ones that don't turn up. If they've had a tough week in Canada or whatever. Sometimes taking the US open is off is not a bad option. Crazy enough, but I know quite a.
Matt Every [00:07:00]:
Few Tour players that aren't even trying to qualify for it.
Aron Price [00:07:04]:
Chris Kirk would skip it a lot.
Matt Every [00:07:06]:
That's a long week.
Aron Price [00:07:07]:
Don't understand. A forced week off sometimes is good.
Matt Every [00:07:12]:
Yeah.
Scott Riley [00:07:13]:
And you're probably coming off of another tournament. You got to hop in a plane or drive somewhere and go do a 36 hole or where you've got some hungry guys that are actually wanting to play in it.
Matt Every [00:07:23]:
So Marion real quick, and then we'll get another shit. I was playing Eduardo Molinari final eight. I'm peaking in college. Good things are happening. I just finished like, low amateur at US open and peaking on and off the course.
Scott Riley [00:07:46]:
It's the summer of Matt. The summer of Matt, 2005, it was.
Matt Every [00:07:50]:
And I get this guy, Eduardo Molinari. I'm two up of four to go. I lose 15 and 1617. I hit it pretty close. I hit it like five, 6ft. I ended up not having to pot it. He made bogey some one up going in 18. We both hit it over the green. Both chip up. He chips like 10ft. I chip like 6ft. He makes, I miss guy. Extra holes go to the first hole match in front of us. We're playing the winner of and it is the 6th guy on Bama's team. This guy, his name was Matthew Swan, and we played a ton of tournaments with Bama. This guy ain't beat me. He's never beat me in his life. I'm going to beat him the second we step on the tee. And he's playing the number one amateur in the world, Michael SIM, and they're in extra holes as well. And we're in the fairway. And I watch Matthew Swan beat Michael SIM.
Aron Price [00:08:42]:
Wow.
Matt Every [00:08:43]:
And I'm like, here we go. I'm going the math. Here we go, baby.
Aron Price [00:08:47]:
Matthew Swan. I haven't even heard of that guy.
Matt Every [00:08:50]:
Yeah, he was like a five or six guy in Bama for a couple of years.
Scott Riley [00:08:53]:
Roll Todd.
Matt Every [00:08:53]:
So he hits it like he had a bad wedge, like 40ft. Long right. Long right. PIM was front left.
Scott Riley [00:09:03]:
That's an interesting playoff hole. Number one. That's a shorty right there.
Matt Every [00:09:06]:
Yeah, I hit it like 10ft right behind it. He runs it like 8ft by I. High side lip mine, borderline gimme, like two and a half feet. He makes his eight footer. I miss, I lose. He goes on to win that's match play right there. Yeah. Every time I saw every time I've seen him since, which is quite a bit, we see each other just through playing. We always smile and hug and we'll bring it up like, dude, unbelievable. I kind of fucking gave it to him, but whatever.
Aron Price [00:09:43]:
I thought I had a bad one with Ryan Moore, but I think that trumps it.
Scott Riley [00:09:47]:
There's not a lot of brothers out there that have really had a lot of success. And the Molanaris are definitely a pair of brothers at High.
Aron Price [00:09:54]:
Those European kids going to the Hogart twins.
Matt Every [00:09:57]:
Yeah. And then one of them just played in the PGA and one's playing on the corn ferry. Paul. Yonik, Paul.
Aron Price [00:10:04]:
I don't know them.
Matt Every [00:10:05]:
Really?
Aron Price [00:10:05]:
Yeah.
Matt Every [00:10:06]:
Come on, dude.
Scott Riley [00:10:08]:
Been on golf trips.
Aron Price [00:10:10]:
I've been doing real estate.
Matt Every [00:10:11]:
How do I know about this?
Aron Price [00:10:13]:
Yeah, it's interesting. I'll look it up then.
Scott Riley [00:10:16]:
Somebody just qualified for the Open, though, and doing it the hard way. Sergio Garcia went through a sectional and shot pair of 66. That's pretty respectable. I love that he had to go through the Open process and stamped his card.
Aron Price [00:10:31]:
I love that he did it.
Scott Riley [00:10:32]:
L.A
Aron Price [00:10:33]:
You know, I'm not going to be sure. I like Cedric, but I think he would be honest, too. He can be a bitch. And that was pretty cool that he did it. I think he's 24th straight US. Open.
Scott Riley [00:10:42]:
Yeah.
Matt Every [00:10:42]:
Wow.
Aron Price [00:10:42]:
That's fucking insane.
Matt Every [00:10:43]:
Impressive.
Aron Price [00:10:46]:
I could have that wrong.
Matt Every [00:10:47]:
So impressive.
Scott Riley [00:10:48]:
You're right. You're dead on. 90.
Matt Every [00:10:51]:
918.
Aron Price [00:10:52]:
Jesus.
Scott Riley [00:10:53]:
Yeah.
Aron Price [00:10:55]:
He's still a young man.
Matt Every [00:10:57]:
Yeah.
Aron Price [00:10:58]:
Few years older, but like, he's fit and that's insane.
Scott Riley [00:11:02]:
Yeah, there was a couple other I.
Aron Price [00:11:04]:
Mean, Ray McDowell missed by one, too.
Matt Every [00:11:06]:
Did he?
Aron Price [00:11:07]:
Is it the same qualifier? So good to see these guys that look, I feel like all of us here aren't on a side, but they're grinding it out, trying to get into the majors.
Matt Every [00:11:20]:
It was a very friendly vibe at the PGA last week.
Aron Price [00:11:23]:
Yeah.
Scott Riley [00:11:23]:
Matt, you were there actually doing work.
Matt Every [00:11:26]:
LIV guys and PGA guys.
Aron Price [00:11:29]:
You're up there being golden Tonsils.
Matt Every [00:11:32]:
Yeah, sure.
Scott Riley [00:11:34]:
Something like that.
Aron Price [00:11:35]:
That's what they're calling you now, golden Tonsils. Any good lines from the PGA?
Matt Every [00:11:39]:
Oh, God. Not really.
Scott Riley [00:11:41]:
Bullshit. You were great on the ones that I was watching.
Matt Every [00:11:47]:
I did. I'll tell you, it was slammed out there.
Aron Price [00:11:50]:
I feel like every segment, every one of two Era segments, you float one in there.
Matt Every [00:11:55]:
Yeah, I will say I did have a good one. The first day, there was a frost delay, and it was nice out. It was just there was frost on the ground. And so they were holding the galleries back from coming in. And finally, when they let everyone in, it's like 10 30, 11:00, it's warmed up. These guys are crowds raring to go, and it's bunched big time because groups are just teeing off. So we get on at Cam and Rohm's group, and we're on behind ten green, near eleven tee box, and this kid sees me wearing the ESPN thing, and he goes, hey, is Wesley Brian here this week? I'm hill, and he was in the group in front of me, covering the group in front of me, and I go, yeah, he's up there. And he asked me again, and I was like, yeah, he's up there. And he goes, oh, I love Wesley, so sick with the wedge, blah blah. He's my favorite tour player. And it's quiet, there's no groups around, but these people are listening to all this going on. And it was my best line of the week, to be honest. I just told him, I go, Bud, you need to get out more.
Aron Price [00:13:11]:
I never knew Wesley Brown was such a dude.
Matt Every [00:13:14]:
He is. I walked through a influence. I walked through Atlanta Airport with him, and he got noticed like two or three times.
Scott Riley [00:13:23]:
No.
Matt Every [00:13:23]:
Yeah.
Aron Price [00:13:24]:
This YouTube is a thing old timers need to get under the YouTube. The YouTube. But how was it up there? For people that don't know, I don't know how experienced that there's a reason why you can't play. Have you ever played on frosty greens? Yeah, the ball will bounce 20ft in the air. It's like it hits a road.
Scott Riley [00:13:43]:
Terra firma. It just becomes so firm.
Aron Price [00:13:46]:
Insane, I guess.
Matt Every [00:13:47]:
One year kills the grass.
Aron Price [00:13:49]:
One year, ten. At Phoenix, they started like, maybe 20 minutes too early, and those wedges just bouncing up into the grandstands, that's every year in Phoenix. Absolutely.
Matt Every [00:14:00]:
In the morning. Yeah. No, I think they don't. It also has to do with killing the grass. I think that's everything.
Scott Riley [00:14:06]:
It was a wild situation, calendar wise for the PGA. I mean, kind of an anomaly having that thing up in New York this year. And I don't know where they go next year, but probably some more warmer climates.
Aron Price [00:14:20]:
But yeah, the next three years is south. I saw they were going to have one at Frisco in three years. That's the PGA.
Matt Every [00:14:26]:
Like the Senior PGA frisco there this week.
Aron Price [00:14:29]:
There you go.
Matt Every [00:14:30]:
That's the new Frisco course in Dallas.
Scott Riley [00:14:33]:
Okay. Yeah. That's the new headquarters of the PJ of America.
Aron Price [00:14:40]:
Yeah. Wasn't it at Port St. Lucie?
Matt Every [00:14:44]:
Port St. Lucie, yeah, it was down there somewhere. I think it was cool up there, though. Man, the New York majors, they get great crowd. It's like a west coast us. Open in a New York major.
Aron Price [00:14:59]:
There is something about the northeast, chicago, the gulf. It's insane.
Matt Every [00:15:05]:
What a course, dude. That place was oak hills.
Aron Price [00:15:08]:
A beast.
Matt Every [00:15:09]:
Looked like it was out of a video game.
Scott Riley [00:15:10]:
Looked like a long walk. How?
Matt Every [00:15:12]:
That walk was a bitch, dude. Yeah, because it's pretty hilly. I'm in the rough with tennis shoes on. Slick shit.
Scott Riley [00:15:22]:
Any near slips or stumbles?
Matt Every [00:15:24]:
No. No stumbles. No. But you had to watch out for other people stumbling, taking you out.
Aron Price [00:15:29]:
What about, like, John McGinnis? He was up there. Johnny, he could stumble.
Matt Every [00:15:32]:
He could, yeah. It was a tough walk. It was a tough walk. Last week. There wasn't any. I had I don't know what you would call him, a spotter or an assistant. And they have a cart, but there's nowhere to go out. There. Just too many people. I never saw them, so I was on foot all day. But I liked it. I had a good time, saw a bunch of buddies.
Scott Riley [00:15:51]:
It's different from a tour event where you have carts just zoom, and that.
Aron Price [00:15:55]:
Is the worst part of tour events. That's something people don't understand, too. Like, if you actually become aware of it, all you see is hospitality. There's no way around it. But I think they could cull 30%. People get certain weeks.
Matt Every [00:16:10]:
The people that are excited to have golf carts should not have golf carts.
Aron Price [00:16:14]:
They need to have a betting process for the hospitality. Like who gets the have you played more than six?
Matt Every [00:16:21]:
If this is the highlight of your day is driving this golf car, you're fucking out.
Aron Price [00:16:25]:
I'm serious. Like with the logistics and all the corporate hospitality, if you haven't been on a golf course more than six times a year for the last ten years, you don't get the car. Yeah, you have to actually have a fucking clue.
Matt Every [00:16:37]:
Certain weeks are worse than others, too, because some weeks it's all like dirt and gravel paths, dust everywhere. Well, just noise too. Way louder.
Scott Riley [00:16:45]:
Yeah, hit that thing, put it in reverse and it starts.
Matt Every [00:16:50]:
You just notice them more.
Aron Price [00:16:52]:
So Brooks one is what it is. Brooks was the story, the bruiser.
Matt Every [00:16:55]:
Michael block.
Aron Price [00:16:56]:
Michael block. Yeah, michael block is look, they're overplaying, but not really, because it's hell of.
Matt Every [00:17:04]:
A week, for sure, but it's not like Jason from Atlantic beach country club going to or whoever going to play in the PGA and finish from 15th. This dude's played a ton of tour events, played more 24. I think he's played more majors than I have.
Aron Price [00:17:24]:
Played five, at least. PGAs, he's played one us. Open. Maybe not maybe more. But he's played 24 tour events. He'd made like four cuts, and he's a teaching pro. He wins the California section, I think.
Matt Every [00:17:35]:
A lot play with him. I think he's very good.
Aron Price [00:17:38]:
He won the whole thing one year because he must have he played six times. He must have won the club pro.
Matt Every [00:17:43]:
Exemption, but I still think he's the story this week 100% pretty badass, regardless of his ability to finish 15th at 46 years old, that's it.
Scott Riley [00:17:55]:
46. That's a selling point.
Matt Every [00:17:57]:
46 for me.
Aron Price [00:17:58]:
15Th is not 55th. It's 15. Not to Captain Obvious, but it gets exponentially harder. He beat Ram Bailey's. Guys, look, it's one week, but if you said at the start of the week, could this guy finish 15th, I would put every single cent I own and my neighbor's money. That no chance he can finish top 30. He finished 15th isn't enough.
Matt Every [00:18:21]:
I need some hairs, too.
Aron Price [00:18:23]:
Even the up and down the last.
Matt Every [00:18:27]:
Might have been better than the fucking all in one.
Aron Price [00:18:31]:
So ridiculous drifts over the lip. It's like you deserve everything you get.
Matt Every [00:18:35]:
You could make seven on where he was.
Scott Riley [00:18:38]:
You could spontaneously combust after that.
Aron Price [00:18:41]:
So he's got 288 grand up. He's got an exemptions in this week Canada. I don't know if he's going to be able to continue on, but I.
Matt Every [00:18:47]:
Bet you get some. If he plays DC Max, one of seven.
Scott Riley [00:18:51]:
There's got to be some sponsors foaming at that.
Aron Price [00:18:55]:
That's the rule. You get maximum of seven. Then you have to be at the 150 th from last year. Then you can get as many as.
Matt Every [00:19:01]:
Annie's got a kid that is a good player, too, and is in the sectionals for US open. They both are.
Scott Riley [00:19:09]:
I got a quick story on his hole in one. So CBS is not showing Block really much at all. We're doing a terrible move. We're doing a Renault in the house, and I don't have a TV downstairs. So I'm watching Maddie on the stream on ESPN Plus. And I wanted to click to the main coverage, but they didn't have it on the app. All right. I'll watch Block and Rory. So I'm watching Block and Rory completely by myself for about 13-14 holes. Wife comes home from the grocery store and it's like, hey, can you come help me? It's starting to rain. And I'm like, yeah, sure, whatever. I go to the car, bring all the groceries back in, and my son's going nuts. He's like, you just missed it. You just flew it in for a hole in one. They didn't even show that shot live on the coverage, but it is tough. But they teed up Nantz, and just the way he came in was so Nantz-y with the I don't know, the miracle continues, and he holds one out. Come on, you got to dress that up a little bit better than that, Jim.
Matt Every [00:20:17]:
Yeah, well, just showing it delayed sucked.
Scott Riley [00:20:21]:
Yeah.
Matt Every [00:20:21]:
I don't know how you whiff on that short par three with the Story of the Week is coming.
Aron Price [00:20:27]:
Yeah, but you don't know he's going to hold. I'm getting out of the way. You don't know he's going to hold that. You're not going to watch every shot he hits live. You've got Kepka. You've got other guys, victor Hoveland.
Scott Riley [00:20:36]:
But he was playing well all day, and they didn't show him right until then.
Aron Price [00:20:42]:
It was wild.
Matt Every [00:20:43]:
If you were watching the featured groups, you would have seen it. Featured groups?
Aron Price [00:20:48]:
Sometimes they're better go and subscribe folks. Mountie.
Scott Riley [00:20:51]:
What would does Rom not want you to follow his groups anymore? That was brutal.
Matt Every [00:20:55]:
I don't know if he got alphaed. If there was just like I don't know. He saw me inside the ropes. What the deal was. No, I'm kidding.
Scott Riley [00:21:04]:
He took out a microphone.
Matt Every [00:21:07]:
He was going after those boom mics. They put those in the wrong spots. You can't put them when you walk off the green and expect these guys not just to tee off on that.
Aron Price [00:21:18]:
Is not his first.
Matt Every [00:21:20]:
Anyone, when that rage takes over and you're walking off is thinking, oh, this is going to cost me $1,000. They don't give a shit.
Scott Riley [00:21:28]:
It was premeditated murder on this comes.
Aron Price [00:21:30]:
Back to your suggestion of the punching bag.
Matt Every [00:21:32]:
It does. You need a punching bag off of every green.
Aron Price [00:21:35]:
Not a speed bag. Like a full punching bag.
Matt Every [00:21:37]:
Yeah. One you can karate kick if you want.
Scott Riley [00:21:40]:
We saw one attached to the back of a card at Southampton this past weekend. It was the bogey bag.
Matt Every [00:21:48]:
Saw that, dude, I saw the PGA show.
Scott Riley [00:21:52]:
Why do you tell us I need a bogey bag? Double bogey bag. Driver. Yip bag.
Matt Every [00:21:59]:
It's real easy. Instead, the hole signs can actually be.
Aron Price [00:22:03]:
The punching bags, but that's the thing. Another thing we talked about previously, too, is PJ two has to hit the dead air. People are like, oh, why is it always go dead? Well, that's because someone's dropping an F bomb. Ram is the man, dude. Hold on a SEC. The last party missed an 18 to finish five over. He finished six over. Like, CBS doesn't really bleep him out. Was the loudest F bomb for no reason.
Matt Every [00:22:29]:
Talking about Thursday.
Aron Price [00:22:30]:
No, Sunday.
Matt Every [00:22:31]:
Sunday.
Aron Price [00:22:32]:
Go back and watch Rahm put out.
Matt Every [00:22:33]:
So I had ram Thursday and Saturday and it's every second word. It really is, dude.
Aron Price [00:22:39]:
And I'm here.
Matt Every [00:22:40]:
Unbelievable.
Aron Price [00:22:40]:
And.
Scott Riley [00:22:43]:
It'S raw.
Matt Every [00:22:43]:
I think it's part of his arsenal, though, is this kind of self talk. A lot of guys do it where it's never their fault and it works for him. I mean, this guy complained about water balls, dude. Like, off the tee six times in one round. Cam. Never once. Never once. And we hear everything because those mics I'm hearing, it's not cutting off in my ear. You know what I'm saying?
Aron Price [00:23:08]:
No. Yeah, you can hear the boom. You hear squirrels. Fuck. Yeah.
Matt Every [00:23:12]:
So it is nuts, though. How, man? I don't think it's going away. This is the same Rom that was like, when he came on the scene. It's just he's a better golfer.
Aron Price [00:23:27]:
He is like the whole, like, absolute animal toned.
Matt Every [00:23:29]:
It in. I don't know about that, dude. He's passionate. Yeah. Spanish you've just gotten really good at golf. Really good.
Aron Price [00:23:38]:
Adam Hayes has just got to be like, yeah, man, he's a great dude. I love Adam. Tough joke, but you're freaking hell.
Matt Every [00:23:46]:
And he's not look, dude, he's not alone either. Homo was at least going after his equipment. Like he was beating his bag and stuff like that. Guys get pissed off out there. I mean, it's just part of it playing for a lot of when you're playing a fucking and you're getting shit stomped in.
Scott Riley [00:24:02]:
Yeah.
Aron Price [00:24:03]:
They're not used to making bogeys then path and fucking double bogeys.
Scott Riley [00:24:09]:
It felt like it was going to.
Aron Price [00:24:10]:
Be it's a blow to the ego. I think that's where it happens.
Scott Riley [00:24:13]:
They start that tournament. Felt like it was going to be two, four under winning after the first two days.
Matt Every [00:24:18]:
If it didn't rain Saturday, the weather.
Aron Price [00:24:23]:
I think they got a perfect score. They don't want to be the US. Open. That would be I agree.
Matt Every [00:24:26]:
If it didn't rain, it would have been like one guy under.
Aron Price [00:24:29]:
Nine under. What about when I think through nine holes, it was seven six. And they asked Trevor Illman, what do you think is going to win? And he goes, I think nine under. And I was like, these guys high. I thought, like seven under would win. Well, Rahm got to I mean, Kepa got to ten. Crazy.
Matt Every [00:24:48]:
He finished at ten.
Aron Price [00:24:49]:
No, he bogeyed 17, finished at nine.
Scott Riley [00:24:51]:
Five majors for Bruce.
Matt Every [00:24:54]:
Freaking impressive, dude.
Aron Price [00:24:55]:
The guy's the modern day Tiger Woods in majors in one aspect. Hold on a second. That you doubt him. Like, Tiger, he's just not going to can't win this one or whatever. Like, wow. No, he's like three back with nine to go. Just wins.
Matt Every [00:25:12]:
I love it.
Scott Riley [00:25:13]:
He's proven that when he is healthy, though, he is one of the best to ever do it.
Aron Price [00:25:18]:
Modern day, arguably the best.
Scott Riley [00:25:23]:
Tiger, he's got more than Rory now, the most of any golfer since 2010. He's creeping up on some rare air and he's ranked, what, 44th in the world now?
Matt Every [00:25:36]:
44Th. He might jump a few after this week.
Aron Price [00:25:39]:
Not to go off tangent, but it does show the vulnerability of humans in golf. Like, you have a bad run for three or four months. You think, Matt spent like, I don't play golf anymore, but you think that I'm never coming back. And then Stricker comes back. Baker Finch does talent back.
Matt Every [00:25:56]:
Talent doesn't leave.
Aron Price [00:25:58]:
It doesn't leave. But it's amazing where your mind goes when you're not playing. Well, now I don't give a shit. I'm telling you. Brooks Kepka was probably thinking like, am I going to continue to play golf if I'm playing like this? And there's other thing that you don't want to play if you're not playing as well as you know you can. It's frustrating. It fucking makes you not sleep. So talk about your first win. You're never going to get never going to forget. But that one had to be wow. You could see it from the Netflix series. The guy was extremely vulnerable, maybe boarding on Insecure, and then comes back and just loses the Masters and then says Saturday to Ballyonus or Amanda Renner. Like, I'm not going to make that mistake again. Wouldn't tell. And was just like, basically it's going to be no problems tomorrow. And it was like, no problems. Like the guys got the biggest pair of cahoonas hanging from what do you think? It was something that I think irritated him and let him irritate more. Whether it was slow play, whether it was swing thought, or I don't know. I'm sure we'll find out one day.
Scott Riley [00:27:08]:
He looked in control. He seemed to slow things down himself instead of let the group in front of him dictate his play.
Aron Price [00:27:15]:
Yeah. Ricky yellett. Obviously very calm. Cut.
Matt Every [00:27:17]:
Well, who was in front of him? Met Augusta.
Scott Riley [00:27:19]:
It was somebody can't lay all day.
Matt Every [00:27:22]:
Cantlay, dude, I had him on Friday. I watched one of the best rounds I've ever seen in my life on Friday.
Aron Price [00:27:27]:
He was a freaking animal.
Matt Every [00:27:28]:
So good. I mean, he played with Ricky and Phil and it looked like they didn't even belong. They didn't even play the same sport. Like Patrick Cantlay looked like a freaking machine. He didn't make anything and shot 300 before it rained.
Aron Price [00:27:42]:
He was one of my top three picks. Just having Joe LaCava on the bag had Matsiama and I had Cameron Young. Not very good picks, but I thought, I can't lay.
Matt Every [00:27:51]:
He got screwed with the weather.
Aron Price [00:27:53]:
He's got a tough major record, too. He's only had like two top tens.
Matt Every [00:27:56]:
And I was three.
Aron Price [00:27:57]:
I was like, now with LaCava, whether it be psychosomatic placebo I thought he was really going to.
Scott Riley [00:28:02]:
So the late, earlys got affected. He really by the Lac, by that frost delay, allowing those guys in the early wave to kind of have a drier course.
Matt Every [00:28:13]:
For sure. It was just two totally different golf courses. Once it rained. There's something to firm fairways with dog legs. You couldn't just stand up there and pound your one way driver. You had to shape it. The wind direction mattered a ton. Ball flight mattered a ton. On holding fairways. It was a really good test. And then rain. You can't help it. But I mean, it just turns it.
Scott Riley [00:28:42]:
Into what were the crowds like with Phil?
Matt Every [00:28:45]:
They fucking loved them. Yeah, dude. So when I got done Thursday, aaron.
Aron Price [00:28:50]:
I don't think the crowds care about this.
Matt Every [00:28:53]:
I rode by the first team. They were introducing Phil right when I was driving by. I should have taken a video of this. And I was very interested to see what the reaction was going to be because it hadn't happened yet this week. And they just went nuts.
Scott Riley [00:29:10]:
They loved it like it's a Ryder Cup. I mean, that's our boy Phil.
Matt Every [00:29:13]:
Oh, yeah, right.
Aron Price [00:29:16]:
Come.
Matt Every [00:29:17]:
On Phil.
Aron Price [00:29:18]:
What's coming up at Beth page. Something's coming up.
Scott Riley [00:29:22]:
Beth Page.
Aron Price [00:29:23]:
So the next PGA or maybe the Rider Cup in two years. Something's coming to Beth page. That place is great.
Matt Every [00:29:29]:
Yeah.
Aron Price [00:29:33]:
That's Harvard dog legs. Some dog legs there. Yeah.
Scott Riley [00:29:35]:
That place you didn't get to tick that one off.
Aron Price [00:29:38]:
I've ticked it off. Okay.
Matt Every [00:29:40]:
Did you sleep for your tea time or did you sleep there the night before?
Aron Price [00:29:44]:
No. So this is another good one for the fan. The fans. So it's Beth Page black. How to get on seven day you can't get on eight days before seven days. The New York residents get the tea times. Non New York residents get five days. So if you go on there, they're gone. The New York residents. Take them all. But someone's like, we got one for like 04:00. This was in August. And then someone's like, hey, what you need to do is the day before refresh every five minutes because people pull out. You don't pay your tea time in advance and you could pull out for free. So I went from 04:00 to like 03:00, 02:00, 01:00, and once I knew I could get all 18 holes in no rose. So that's the thing you do the day before if you're a non resident, the residents are all pulling out so you can get on there. But the sleep thing is for the first hour now, I think it's not a demand. And if you not sound like but we know enough people in the Gulf world that you call someone up there and they'll tell you how it's been. Hey, I wouldn't come tomorrow. It's going to be like tons. And otherwise, hey, if you turn up at 06:00 A.m., you're good. They sort of have a good indication of what's coming.
Matt Every [00:30:53]:
That place is hard. I played it one year.
Aron Price [00:30:55]:
I want to play the red next. The reds immediately to the left on the first.
Scott Riley [00:31:00]:
What did they have it was it a playoff event or I don't know what it was.
Aron Price [00:31:05]:
US. Open.
Matt Every [00:31:06]:
I withdrew, actually.
Scott Riley [00:31:09]:
They do have a warning sign, I.
Matt Every [00:31:11]:
Guess, before you tee off that's 2025 Ryder Cup.
Aron Price [00:31:16]:
Yes, too.
Matt Every [00:31:18]:
Hey, what's going to happen with the Ryder Cup with Brooks now?
Aron Price [00:31:22]:
He's in. So he's second on points. Can't lose out the only way he could be kicked out and they're not going to do it, man. The PJ of America owns that event. They don't really have a fight in this battle and they would want their champion playing.
Matt Every [00:31:34]:
What about Dusty? Is he in?
Aron Price [00:31:36]:
Well, he has to get a pick, but if he's playing well, you got.
Matt Every [00:31:39]:
To bring if you got Brooks, you got to bring Dusty in.
Aron Price [00:31:42]:
Luke Donald already said that there's no thing ruling that he wouldn't pick a European player. I think his brother Christian is going to be part of it. Who's he going to Katie for steeley.
Matt Every [00:31:50]:
Who live he'd pick?
Aron Price [00:31:52]:
I don't know idea, but of all the euros out there, did you see the Post interview? The post thing with Shambley and Brad factson. No, I haven't seen that. No. Brad Factson employed by I saw Brooks.
Matt Every [00:32:09]:
KEPCO watching the Panthers game last night. He looked very dialed in.
Scott Riley [00:32:13]:
He was on fire.
Aron Price [00:32:14]:
I think Shambley was pushing this montage of he keeps the blood money and he's now second in points because the Pjmeric hadn't ruled it out. It's an exchange between factson. And he's like, well, they're not playing for money at the Ryder Cup. What's the deal here? They're playing for their country. And Shambley hadn't thought about it, you can tell. And he's like, they're playing for their country. You don't think they're playing for their Tour? He's like, no, they're playing for their country. There's no money involved. Why should they be excluded here? And Shambley has nothing. And then Rich Leonard just comes in there's, just like dead air, created this little awkward silence again and people are on the Twitter just like, Shambley, is it knob?
Scott Riley [00:33:00]:
Or whatever?
Aron Price [00:33:01]:
I'm like, I don't think that. I think Shamble is brilliant and people get it's. The same people that think Johnny Miller should be off and Nick Faudo once he's gone.
Matt Every [00:33:08]:
I miss both of those.
Aron Price [00:33:10]:
I think Brandall Shambley is easily the most important person on the whole Golf Channel staff by a mile. Whether you agree with him, you don't he's thought provoking, he researches, he has reasons for his points and I think the guy is a very, very important person in the golf industry. Actually, Lisa Cornwall, who we work with a bit, she's written a book and there's a chapter about Brandon Chamberley. Wow. She's not a fan. Said he's a bully and whatever. I'm not saying I agree about it.
Matt Every [00:33:41]:
But not a fan.
Aron Price [00:33:41]:
But I think the bully part is good for TV. I'm not saying you should bully a woman or anything, but he sort of bullies people on that panel show and deval him and Deval got into it.
Matt Every [00:33:53]:
You hate kids. Is that what you said?
Scott Riley [00:33:56]:
He does bully people from that pulpit. But did he ever do?
Aron Price [00:34:01]:
I asked him to come on the show, by the way, from my account. I said, come on, because I think I'm not against him. I just want to understand about the whole blood money. Like, have you looked in your how many of those companies that are making tons of money and improving your retirement have blood money? Like, a ton of them.
Scott Riley [00:34:18]:
Come on, Brandall, we'd love to have.
Aron Price [00:34:20]:
You, but no, I just think it would be a great conversation. I think he is my number one guy I want to listen to and I don't agree with him on tons of things. The rollback stuff, I'm starting to go the other way. I think human body has maxed out. We don't get any further. I think.
Matt Every [00:34:34]:
What is Brandel's take on the rollback.
Aron Price [00:34:36]:
He thinks.
Matt Every [00:34:39]:
We should do it.
Aron Price [00:34:40]:
No, actually, no. He's non rollback.
Scott Riley [00:34:45]:
He's so good at arguing. He's already convinced.
Aron Price [00:34:47]:
You always for the bifurcation. Until I really thought about, like, are we really going to bifurcate for like 1000 people?
Scott Riley [00:34:54]:
It's a small percentage.
Aron Price [00:34:56]:
Okay. There you go. Brandon, you help me change my opinion.
Scott Riley [00:34:59]:
Did he ever do network, like, TV coverage during a tournament or has he just always been on the Golf Channel panel?
Aron Price [00:35:07]:
I don't know. It's a good question. I wonder why they have podcasts. He was on, I think Colts podcast early on, amazing. Tells a story about college and some guy who was on his college team. I think it was someone somewhat notable about drinking. And Randall Shamble is an ace. Yeah, he is. People that rag on him I understand what you rag on him, but the golf will struggle, like, especially the panel shows without him.
Scott Riley [00:35:33]:
He does a masterful job.
Matt Every [00:35:34]:
Just Frank Navalo with Brandel when they were those three.
Aron Price [00:35:41]:
That's what I'm saying. We need that every week. We can't. But you want people to disagree. Everyone just sucking each other off.
Scott Riley [00:35:48]:
Yeah, that's what maybe edit that.
Aron Price [00:35:52]:
He creates echo chamber.
Scott Riley [00:35:53]:
He creates a way for you to engage with him in a controversial way.
Aron Price [00:35:56]:
Him and McGinley, it's just an opinion.
Scott Riley [00:35:58]:
That he's throwing out there, but just the way he delivers it. You want to go attack what he's.
Aron Price [00:36:03]:
Saying as long as you do it respectfully. Him and McGinley disagree tons, and then they're obviously good buddies off where maybe him and Nobler aren't. I don't know that. But that's where if you're really trying to get a one up, you're going to argue a bit stronger and a bit outside the parameters. But if you're friends with someone, you'll be like, yeah, Bill Burr, fair enough, and just walk out of the room. But I don't think he'll ever come on the show, but hopefully he does because I want to learn why him and ayman lynch are so I do understand why, but after sort of getting I wouldn't say owned, but factson brought up something that he hadn't thought about. He came on and wrote something on Twitter and then he had to go down about September 11. And look, I'm not saying I'm sitting on one side, but I don't know.
Scott Riley [00:36:50]:
Let's talk about it. Well, there are a lot of guys that you were saying, I missed that guy. While you're watching the PGA championship.
Matt Every [00:36:59]:
There's like five. There's five.
Aron Price [00:37:01]:
And again, I promise I'm not four against, but all the people are like, oh, well, all these other tours, I'm like, okay, the tour in southwest Cambodia that's starting a tour and wants points. They don't have Phil, Mickelson, Kepka and all that playing on their tour. So, yeah, I actually do think it's different. And the world rankings should actually look at this. And again, I don't think all 48 should get points. I don't care if ten of them get points. But you can't win an event against a high quality field and get no points.
Scott Riley [00:37:32]:
Two of the four major champions right now.
Aron Price [00:37:37]:
I'm not here. One up. I think the field comes in way too hot, and I think some guys on the Tour come in way too hot. Just take the vow of silence. But I think that the PGA and the US Open want to have the guys playing well on the live Tour in their events. I think they're nuts if they're trying to exclude them.
Matt Every [00:38:03]:
Mike Wine?
Aron Price [00:38:04]:
Yeah. Mike won like synth. I don't know if it was single handedly, but again, you want to have an avenue for guys having a tear, like Taylor Gucci. I don't know if Taylor Gucci is exempt in the US. Evan sounds like he's not. And he wins this week. Coming up in DC. Don't you want him in your thing? You should have don't. Don't worry about the two of us as a live. That's going to take care of itself.
Matt Every [00:38:28]:
How are you? You look in great shape right now. What are you doing?
Aron Price [00:38:33]:
Nothing. But I am doing this thing with my mate who's a doctor, and Jack, who's Cam's best buddy. We're just keeping each other honest. So I'm doing, like, 35 push ups a day, and then this four minute AB thing.
Scott Riley [00:38:45]:
Cardio 35.
Aron Price [00:38:47]:
I run a little bit.
Matt Every [00:38:48]:
Eating better.
Aron Price [00:38:49]:
Not did.
Matt Every [00:38:49]:
I'm eating better.
Aron Price [00:38:50]:
I'm eating better. I'm doing the fasting. I've just had a cook.
Matt Every [00:38:54]:
What hours?
Aron Price [00:38:57]:
I ate from breakfast till dinner, and that's it. Twelve till 630.
Matt Every [00:39:01]:
That's not breakfast. Twelve.
Aron Price [00:39:03]:
Sorry. I don't have my breakfast at lunch. I have eggs at lunch.
Matt Every [00:39:07]:
Okay.
Scott Riley [00:39:07]:
Are you intermittent fasting? Is that what you're doing?
Aron Price [00:39:09]:
Yeah, some days.
Scott Riley [00:39:10]:
Aka. Skipping breakfast?
Aron Price [00:39:12]:
Yeah. Look, I'm just trying not to be disgusting. I'm not trying to be fit. I'm trying to not be disgusting.
Matt Every [00:39:17]:
I'm like, we should do some sort.
Scott Riley [00:39:18]:
Of a challenge here.
Matt Every [00:39:19]:
Jelly donut.
Aron Price [00:39:20]:
I need challenges.
Matt Every [00:39:21]:
I need type two diabetes.
Scott Riley [00:39:23]:
A group challenge. Let's see if we can get shorter.
Aron Price [00:39:25]:
What you did last week of the PGA, it is so hard, but this thing will do. You jump out of bed, you brush your teeth, you do 35 push -ups, and you do this four -minute ABS thing, which is on YouTube.
Scott Riley [00:39:34]:
How long are days long? That's got to be a long asset.
Matt Every [00:39:39]:
They're long days. But it is nice not having to stretch before you go out and get ready.
Scott Riley [00:39:45]:
Just, like, show up with a smile and let's go golf.
Matt Every [00:39:49]:
I saw a few people, like a couple of sports psychologists I've worked with through the years, I saw them out there and they're like, you look so happy. Thanks.
Aron Price [00:39:58]:
Yeah, because golf in general, when you're not playing well and then you add Oak Hill, it'll freaking hurt your feelings.
Matt Every [00:40:05]:
Just kicks walk. You're just getting your dick stopped on four days in a row.
Aron Price [00:40:10]:
You miss like have two bogeys where you got to chip out, right. And then you make what seemed as like an okay bogey. And then the next hole you hit it's like 35, 30ft and you three part you feel like those are the most want to cry?
Matt Every [00:40:23]:
Yes. Those are the things like doing this I pay attention to like JT post and I had one of those rounds where he did nothing wrong and then all of a sudden he just slips up a fucking hair and it's like boom.
Aron Price [00:40:37]:
There is a lot of lock involved.
Matt Every [00:40:39]:
The psychology throughout golf rounds is just nuts to me.
Aron Price [00:40:45]:
Yeah.
Scott Riley [00:40:45]:
You can see how it changes on their faces.
Matt Every [00:40:48]:
Yeah.
Aron Price [00:40:49]:
People say that golf is what I do, not who I am. I love that semi shit. Try and live by that mantra. But it is.
Scott Riley [00:40:56]:
I'm defined by my golf.
Matt Every [00:40:59]:
You kind of are defined by it a little bit.
Aron Price [00:41:01]:
It's in the back part of your brain, how you feel about yourself. Nothing in your life could change. And it's not even like subconscious almost. It's just you're in a better mood and not that you're kicking the cat, but depending on if you like the cat or not. But golf is I don't know, individual kid individual sports are just tough. I don't know. And golf is like a non reactionary individual sports like tennis, where it's all like in the heat of the moment, look and think. Got so much time to think between it's like baseball pitches.
Matt Every [00:41:33]:
Yeah, I think it 100% anytime I see that anytime somebody says that, that's the equivalent to someone saying, I don't care what other people think about me. It's like, get the fuck out of here. You shouldn't, but you definitely do.
Scott Riley [00:41:50]:
Your best days are when you do think that way though.
Matt Every [00:41:52]:
Of course.
Scott Riley [00:41:53]:
Right.
Aron Price [00:41:54]:
But the people that are going out there openly saying that that's normally projected or like normally the people that do.
Matt Every [00:41:58]:
Get maybe we might have to edit this. Like my mom no, edits this, Penny.
Aron Price [00:42:06]:
Sorry, mom.
Matt Every [00:42:06]:
Never mind.
Scott Riley [00:42:07]:
I thought like we were going did you try a garbage plate while you're up there?
Aron Price [00:42:11]:
No.
Matt Every [00:42:11]:
What is what was talking about it?
Scott Riley [00:42:13]:
All I can remember in my head was seeing macaroni and cheese, like hash browns, a hamburger, eggs. I wish I gravy cheese, more cheese and a fork and knife.
Aron Price [00:42:29]:
I think that's a hot. Speaking of take a deep breath.
Matt Every [00:42:33]:
Just thinking about eating that.
Scott Riley [00:42:34]:
Were you able to hear Wright Thompson speaking over your headset when they go to this?
Aron Price [00:42:39]:
He's the new man. The best.
Matt Every [00:42:41]:
Really?
Scott Riley [00:42:42]:
The best at Narrating.
Aron Price [00:42:43]:
He does the Augusta stuff where's that guy a fucking bead.
Matt Every [00:42:47]:
Who is he?
Scott Riley [00:42:48]:
He's like Oxford, Mississippi.
Aron Price [00:42:49]:
He's a journalist, right?
Scott Riley [00:42:51]:
Yeah, he's a sports journalist.
Aron Price [00:42:53]:
He's like a written journalist, isn't he?
Scott Riley [00:42:55]:
He does long form.
Aron Price [00:42:57]:
He did the thing at August and I was like, man, this is like Tom Selik versus I don't know.
Scott Riley [00:43:03]:
Keep going.
Aron Price [00:43:04]:
You got me at Tom David Edinburgh.
Scott Riley [00:43:08]:
It was great, but the way he.
Aron Price [00:43:11]:
Never heard of that guy before. Augusta. Now, I'm sometimes under a rock golf.
Scott Riley [00:43:15]:
Shit, but he's done a lot of college football prosing. I mean, he's he's you want a brilliant podcast?
Aron Price [00:43:22]:
Mr. Thompson will get on. Come on.
Scott Riley [00:43:24]:
It's a cool last name.
Aron Price [00:43:26]:
I just want to listen to dude's voice.
Scott Riley [00:43:28]:
He can describe the Kentucky Derby baseball in the south.
Aron Price [00:43:34]:
What about describing some LFG apparel? Come on. Come home.
Scott Riley [00:43:38]:
I mean, not only is he a good writer, I know he is the voice.
Matt Every [00:43:41]:
I've seen him on yeah, I've seen him on, like, ESPN and stuff.
Aron Price [00:43:45]:
Probably.
Scott Riley [00:43:45]:
Yeah, he's done some 30 football. He did a 30 for 30.
Matt Every [00:43:48]:
Speaking of 30 for 30, I was talking to Tool and Grant about this block's. Gonna have one American Gladiators 30 for 30 coming out. Were you around for that?
Scott Riley [00:44:01]:
Oh, it's already it's in the Gladiators.
Aron Price [00:44:02]:
Like, where the guys from home would, like, wrestle them and shit?
Matt Every [00:44:05]:
Yes.
Aron Price [00:44:06]:
We had one in Australia.
Matt Every [00:44:08]:
Really?
Aron Price [00:44:08]:
God, what a gladiator. Ready?
Matt Every [00:44:11]:
Who were your favorite challenger?
Scott Riley [00:44:15]:
Big Nitro.
Matt Every [00:44:17]:
Yes, nitro.
Aron Price [00:44:18]:
We had an ex guy from my footy club. My pro one, Mark McGore. We had Vulcan. Big black American. Dude was an animal. Had the strong chicks. Sort of down for the strong chicks, by the way.
Matt Every [00:44:30]:
Really? Like getting thrown around?
Aron Price [00:44:33]:
No, but I just appreciate athleticism.
Matt Every [00:44:38]:
Appreciate the athleticism, dude.
Scott Riley [00:44:41]:
I loved American Gladiator. Did you not recreate those sports in your own house?
Matt Every [00:44:47]:
The balance beam one with the jousting? Yeah, the jousting. The gauntlet. Yeah. What was the other one? The one where they shoot the gun at you and you got to run up and hit the and you can.
Scott Riley [00:44:58]:
Throw a tennis ball back at them or something.
Aron Price [00:45:01]:
We probably didn't have that one. Shooting a gun was probably, like, around that time, was just right after we banned them, so maybe we didn't do that.
Scott Riley [00:45:08]:
I liked it. They had, like, football, basketball with a garbage can out in the middle, and you ran with the ball trying to and then slam it into the it.
Aron Price [00:45:16]:
Was like a dodge ball.
Matt Every [00:45:19]:
Well, we kind of have it now, but it's that what is it called? It's on like family.
Aron Price [00:45:25]:
What is the smartest guy in the room?
Matt Every [00:45:29]:
That's why he's staying quiet, because he's the smartest in the room. Okay, all right. Hold on. Now. What's the one now? Fuck who commentates.
Scott Riley [00:45:38]:
It family game night.
Matt Every [00:45:39]:
It's like, at the end, they run up this wall okay. To try and do it.
Scott Riley [00:45:44]:
Oh, American Ninja Warrior.
Matt Every [00:45:45]:
Yeah, it's kind of the same thing, but not really. Like, American Gladiator was way sicker than American Ninja Warrior.
Aron Price [00:45:53]:
Maybe it's, like, 20 hiatus. Bring it back.
Matt Every [00:45:56]:
Yeah, it could work. Anyway, I think it's going to be a great 30 for 30.
Scott Riley [00:46:02]:
Yeah, there's got to be all kinds of scandal. Drugs. Steroids.
Matt Every [00:46:06]:
Steroids.
Aron Price [00:46:07]:
Speaking of that, a guy gave me one drugs. A client of mine gave him some great, man, the great Jimmy Ellis as a Pennsylvania mid Am legend. He gave me this lightning. Lee Murray. Have you heard that story?
Matt Every [00:46:23]:
No.
Aron Price [00:46:23]:
The guy's like an MMA championship, but got caught up in like, this $90 million. Like heist I already had tons of money. I don't know much about it, but I think it's on Netflix. A four series documentary about this guy, Lee Murray. And Jimmy's like, yeah, gotta watch this thing. The guy had plenty of money, fame, and then just wanted to go and, like, rob things.
Scott Riley [00:46:44]:
Really?
Aron Price [00:46:45]:
Yeah.
Scott Riley [00:46:45]:
Somebody got bored. I've done it all. Let's go rob a liquor store, babe.
Aron Price [00:46:50]:
Maybe that's why Hollywood's struggling with movies, because there's so much good content of documentaries and TV shows out there.
Matt Every [00:46:56]:
It's a ton of weirdos dude.
Aron Price [00:46:58]:
Any good movies lately?
Scott Riley [00:47:00]:
Let's see.
Aron Price [00:47:01]:
I watched that one with Tom Hanks, so that was pretty good.
Scott Riley [00:47:05]:
Depressing auto.
Aron Price [00:47:06]:
Auto. Yeah.
Scott Riley [00:47:08]:
I watched 80 for Brady last night with the kids. Yeah, it's pretty good.
Matt Every [00:47:14]:
Was it?
Scott Riley [00:47:16]:
Why am I watching Tom Brady on the old Sally field?
Matt Every [00:47:19]:
Was Tom Brady in the movie?
Scott Riley [00:47:21]:
He was. And he was in there.
Aron Price [00:47:23]:
Gronk's in there.
Scott Riley [00:47:25]:
Yeah. I don't think Gronk even played in that Super Bowl. It was the Atlanta choke job.
Aron Price [00:47:32]:
28 three.
Scott Riley [00:47:33]:
Yeah. It made me wonder how many movie crews are following certain sport teams around to go through their World Series and be like, hey, we had these actors that were kind of saw this as a cool story. I think they did that with Fever Pitch when the stocks won it.
Matt Every [00:47:52]:
Jimmy Fallon.
Scott Riley [00:47:53]:
Yeah. Those two run out on the field and they're celebrating.
Aron Price [00:47:56]:
It's a documentary with Eddie Vetta and the Cubs winning. Like it was filming the whole thing and they had it winning.
Matt Every [00:48:04]:
Everybody films, everything right now, these guys on tour right now, content all have a guy following them filming content. All the big guys.
Aron Price [00:48:10]:
What about I tell you who was first to market right here, 2005. Ryan Moore and Spence Levine. One of our greats. LFG and myself were the final three for the Hogan Award. Not talking about myself here, but Ryan had a crew not hanging shitty, but had a crew following him around the whole time we were getting our tuxedos done. And he had a guy and they were going to look the guy was on track to be the next Tiger, so they were going to sell it. Ryan Moore was before all you.
Matt Every [00:48:39]:
That award was just given out last night.
Aron Price [00:48:42]:
Saw that.
Matt Every [00:48:43]:
Did you win?
Aron Price [00:48:44]:
Did I win? No, I was probably 3rd.
Matt Every [00:48:47]:
3Rd.
Aron Price [00:48:47]:
Spencer was second. Spencer and I knew he weren't winning, so we had a good time.
Matt Every [00:48:51]:
What year was this?
Aron Price [00:48:53]:
Five. Ryan knew he was going to win, so he was getting ready for his speech. And Jim nance hosted the thing. It was incredible. It was, yeah. The Sunday before Colonial. That's when it always is.
Scott Riley [00:49:03]:
Maddie got himself.
Matt Every [00:49:05]:
Maddie's won it the next year.
Scott Riley [00:49:06]:
We'll call it the heisman.
Aron Price [00:49:07]:
We got two finalists here.
Matt Every [00:49:09]:
That's right.
Scott Riley [00:49:09]:
That's sick.
Matt Every [00:49:10]:
Finalists. That is kind of sick. There's a good list of names on that.
Aron Price [00:49:14]:
It wasn't bad coming from George Southern, but we weren't playing the biggest skate.
Matt Every [00:49:19]:
Ludwig guy just won it for the second time. Him and Rom are the only.
Aron Price [00:49:24]:
Tron loves that guy.
Matt Every [00:49:25]:
Tron's coming on next week, by the way, for our listeners. TC helling up.
Scott Riley [00:49:30]:
Can't wait to learn more about that.
Aron Price [00:49:31]:
I think TC is a little bit like Randall Shambley in the sense that has strong opinions but is really good. I disagree with Tron tons.
Matt Every [00:49:39]:
I also can be great. Yeah. I think different Trons are more like to post the bear. Sometimes they're hot takes.
Aron Price [00:49:46]:
They're not like Brandos. They are hot takes, but yeah, they're.
Scott Riley [00:49:49]:
Not there are some things that a guy that didn't play can come on and say that a guy that did play. I mean, it's all talked to Trump.
Matt Every [00:49:56]:
We also, though, what is Brandall's resume?
Scott Riley [00:50:03]:
Yeah.
Matt Every [00:50:03]:
How many years on tour?
Aron Price [00:50:05]:
I don't know. Tons.
Scott Riley [00:50:09]:
He was good enough to get a job.
Aron Price [00:50:10]:
He led the Master and someone said going retroactively, something about strokes gained. He still has the highest strokes gained for a single round.
Matt Every [00:50:19]:
Wow.
Aron Price [00:50:20]:
He sort of reposted it. So that year he led that first round.
Matt Every [00:50:24]:
I don't know, that's pretty sick.
Aron Price [00:50:26]:
I don't know how they retroactive.
Matt Every [00:50:27]:
Yeah, how can they do that? Did they have shot Link?
Scott Riley [00:50:29]:
That fuck.
Aron Price [00:50:30]:
I have got no idea. And it could be bullshit. I could have been fooled.
Matt Every [00:50:33]:
That sounds like complete horseshit.
Scott Riley [00:50:35]:
I want to get back to the content and people following guys around. It started off cringe and now it's become everyone has a lot more acceptable.
Matt Every [00:50:46]:
Most of the bigger guys, I think they have their own social media guy. They're not doing their own stuff. And they have guys following them around with, like, high tech cameras and shit.
Aron Price [00:50:56]:
Adam has it.
Matt Every [00:50:57]:
Yeah, I saw it with Adam when I followed them in the practice round. But tons of guys are doing it. I know Stallings is doing it, but.
Scott Riley [00:51:03]:
Clearly what are they doing with the content, though?
Matt Every [00:51:05]:
Because I'm not really I'm sure they're.
Aron Price [00:51:08]:
All geared towards they're not doing it for no reason. I'm telling you, especially Adam doesn't care about an ego or anything. So his team would have it where for whatever they're spending, they're making more. Yeah. They're not silly people back there.
Scott Riley [00:51:24]:
No. Well, like I said, start off kind of cringey and now you're a lot more used to a guy pulling his phone out and filming another guy on the range that's the content that the user wants to see, I think is behind the scenes look. So we got these things in our hands that we can provide that access instantly.
Aron Price [00:51:46]:
What about LACC? Have you played it?
Matt Every [00:51:48]:
Sorry, no.
Aron Price [00:51:48]:
Pivoting.
Matt Every [00:51:49]:
Yeah, no, that's good.
Aron Price [00:51:50]:
Now. I was supposed to play the Monday every year.
Matt Every [00:51:51]:
Yeah, that's right. Kirk thing.
Aron Price [00:51:53]:
Yeah. I'm not blaming Kirk because I still had the invitation. It wasn't dependent on him. I still could have gone. I just pivoted and came home.
Scott Riley [00:52:01]:
Are you going to Caddy any this summer?
Aron Price [00:52:03]:
I don't think so. I think Cromy is on full time.
Matt Every [00:52:08]:
Yeah, he's been out there a while for him.
Scott Riley [00:52:10]:
What about you, Matt? You're going to get in anywhere?
Matt Every [00:52:12]:
Yeah, kind of. For someone, if they want.
Aron Price [00:52:19]:
Isn't the Kentucky thing coming up? Can't afford is it in Alabama?
Matt Every [00:52:24]:
No, I am doing Memorial and Canada.
Aron Price [00:52:30]:
What about playing TV?
Matt Every [00:52:32]:
Playing. If I'm going to get in a tournament, it would be probably Lexington or John Deere. I might get in as well.
Aron Price [00:52:39]:
What about California? The old Reno?
Matt Every [00:52:42]:
I don't know if I'll get in that. I would love to, though. That's actually my favorite event of the year. I mean, I've been getting in it for the last few years, but it's just such a nice truckee in the summer. Nice break.
Scott Riley [00:52:53]:
Is John Deere in trouble as a tournament?
Aron Price [00:52:59]:
I'll work it out.
Matt Every [00:53:00]:
Yeah, they'll work it out. It's like 154, 156. So it's a big field and it's late in the year and it's not an elevated event.
Aron Price [00:53:13]:
I'm actually working that one.
Matt Every [00:53:15]:
You are?
Aron Price [00:53:15]:
ESPN plus.
Matt Every [00:53:18]:
Hopefully you're calling me.
Aron Price [00:53:21]:
That'd be some easy stuff to talk about.
Matt Every [00:53:23]:
The new Michael Block.
Aron Price [00:53:24]:
That could be my breakout party for my commentary.
Matt Every [00:53:28]:
I will say this, too. It's definitely easier to do commentating when your group's playing. Well, it's night and day. When you got a group stuck in neutral, it is fucking.
Scott Riley [00:53:40]:
You can feel that mood, I'm sure.
Aron Price [00:53:41]:
Which is hard to get excited about a shot going into the shit and.
Scott Riley [00:53:46]:
Like, oh, yeah, what do I say here?
Aron Price [00:53:48]:
You can't be too critical. Let's leave that for the people who do it every week. The azing is which again? Azing is another guy. Awesome. Critical. You got to have that guy. You can't all be fluff.
Matt Every [00:54:01]:
It's not easy either, dude doing it like those guys. There's a lot of time to fill air. A lot of times you just open your mouth and hope something good comes out.
Aron Price [00:54:12]:
I got a teeth on. I got to run.
Matt Every [00:54:16]:
He plays more golf than all of us combined.
Aron Price [00:54:19]:
I have a client in town. I don't care to play that much golf.
Scott Riley [00:54:22]:
Is this company golf? Client golf?
Aron Price [00:54:24]:
Yeah.
Matt Every [00:54:25]:
Do you have a tagline yet for.
Aron Price [00:54:27]:
Your just buy, sell, refer, whatever?
Scott Riley [00:54:33]:
Yeah, well, I can't think of a good tagline on top of my head for prices.
Aron Price [00:54:38]:
All right, maybe next episode we'll have a tagline. You guys can do my marketing. Thank you.
Matt Every [00:54:46]:
That's fun.
Scott Riley [00:54:46]:
Thanks for sitting in and googling for us, tool.
Matt Every [00:54:49]:
All right.
Aron Price [00:54:52]:
You're coming on again. Back to work more into it. It's.
