#BowelCancerAwarenessMonth, a campaign where Bowel Cancer UK encourages people to ditch the razor and grow a beard for #Decembeard to support #BowelCancerAwareness. You can get involved by sharing informative posts and statistics, tell your story if you or someone you know has been impacted by bowel cancer, educate your followers about the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer, the importance of screening and steps to maintain a healthy lifestyle or engage your audience with interactive challenges. #WorldAidsDay on 1st December, an opportunity to show solidarity with millions worldwide living with HIV. There are several ways to show your support by sharing accurate and up-to-date information about HIV/AIDS, use hashtags such as #WorldAidsDay and #RocktheRibbon to connect your posts with the global conversation, show support by wearing the symbolic red ribbon and sharing pictures of you, sharing personal stories of individuals living with HIV/AIDS, educating on prevention and encouraging your followers to donate to relevant charities.

#SmallBusinessSaturday on 2nd December, a day dedicated to celebrating and supporting the backbone of our communities – small businesses and encouraging consumers to shop local and invest in the unique products and services offered by small businesses. Here are some ways you can support small businesses in your community: Showcase your favourite local businesses by featuring their products or services, share your positive experiences, and encourage your followers to explore and support these businesses, when promoting the day use the hashtag #SmallBusinessSaturday for wider visibility, partner with local businesses for collaborative promotions or offers, tell your own small business story journey, challenges and triumphs.

#InternationalDayofPersonswithDisabilities on 3rd December promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities at every level of society and development and raising awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life. The United Nations theme for 2023 is ‘United in action to rescue and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for, with and by persons with disabilities.’

Here are some ways you can get involved: 

Share inspiring stories of individuals with disabilities who have overcome challenges and achieved remarkable success. Share information about different types of disabilities, their challenges, and the importance of creating accessible environments. Use the hashtags #IDPD and #DisabilityInclusion for wider visibility. Showcase businesses that prioritise inclusivity and accessibility. Advocate for accessibility by sharing tips, resources, and best practices for creating inclusive spaces. Encourage your audience to consider accessibility in their daily lives, whether it's in their homes, workplaces, or communities.

Let's celebrate diversity and advocate for a society that values and embraces the abilities of all individuals.

You can get involved by sharing your volunteer experiences, the causes you’re passionate about and the impact you have witnessed. Use the hashtag #IVD2023 to connect with a global community of volunteers. Shine a spotlight on volunteers, organisations and charities making a difference. #ChristmasJumperDay on 7th December encouraging people to put on their most colourful and festive sweaters to spread holiday cheer and raise funds for Save the Children. Why not get in the mood and host a Christmas Jumper contest, share group photos of everyone wearing their jumpers and post information about the charity Save the Children.

#HumanRightsDay on 10th December, a time to reflect on the universal rights and freedoms that every person is entitled to with this year’s theme being ‘Consolidating and Sustaining Human Rights Culture into the Future’. Join the global movement to promote equality, justice, and human dignity.

For ideas on how to get involved, you can share human rights messages, use the hashtags #HumanRightsDay and #StandUp4HumanRights to connect with the broader global conversation, share information about specific human rights issues around the world, raise awareness about challenges people face in different areas and promote understanding and empathy, encourage your followers to perform small acts of kindness and solidarity in their communities.

#InternationalMigrantsDay on 18th December, a global initiative highlighting the contributions, challenges, and rights of migrants worldwide. On this day, we recognise the resilience and diversity of individuals who have left their homes in search of new opportunities, safety, and a better life. This year’s theme is ‘World Day Of Migrants And Refugees: Free To Choose Whether To Migrate Or To Stay’. If you are posting about this on social media use hashtags #MigrantsDay and #WeTogether and if possible use hashtags in multiple languages to reach a more diverse audience. This reflects the multicultural nature of migration and helps create a more inclusive online space.

#WorldSolsticeDay on 21st December which is the astronomical first day of winter in the Northern Hemisphere and the shortest day of the year. Recognising the solstice on social media can be a creative and engaging way to connect with your audience.

Here are some ideas: Share information about the solstice, explaining the science behind it and its cultural significance. Encourage your followers to share the beauty of the changing seasons, the sunrise or sunset on the solstice day, or any related traditions. Create a hashtag specific to your campaign to track entries. Share quotes or sayings that reflect the themes of renewal, change, or the cycles of nature associated with the solstice. Share interesting historical or cultural facts related to how different societies have celebrated or marked the solstice throughout history.

#ChristmasEve on 24th December, help spread holiday cheer and engage with your audience by creating a countdown series in the days leading up to Christmas Eve. Share daily posts or stories with festive images, quotes, or activities that build excitement for the holiday. Showcase your festive decorations or encourage your followers to share theirs. Share your Christmas Eve traditions or ask your audience about theirs. Share any special Christmas Eve recipe. Inspire with festive attire whether it's cosy pyjamas, ugly Christmas sweaters, or elegant attire. Spread holiday cheer by organising Christmas Eve giveaways or contests.

#ChristmasDay on 25th December a religious and cultural celebration commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ around the world. Share the joy and festive spirit with your audience by sharing the magic of Christmas morning by posting photos or videos of festive decorations or special moments. Share your festive outfit, send virtual Christmas greetings to your followers. Prompt your followers to share their favourite Christmas memories or traditions. Share a special Christmas recipe or meal. Highlight acts of kindness and generousity whether it's volunteering, donating to charity, or small acts of kindness, share and inspire others to spread goodwill. Take a moment to reflect on the meaning of Christmas and express gratitude for the positive moments and connections you've experienced throughout the year

#NewYearsEve on 31st December also known as #OldYears Day or #SaintSylvestersDay in many countries, is the evening or the entire day of the last day of the year. Welcoming the new year on social media provides a fantastic opportunity to share excitement, reflections, and hopes for the future with your audience.

Here are some ways you can recognise the day: Create a countdown to the new year. Share daily reflections, goals, or memorable moments from the past year leading up to the countdown. Share personal or professional achievements from the past year and encourage your followers to reflect on their own successes and growth. Discuss New Year's resolutions or goals for the upcoming year. Create a compilation or slideshow of your top moments from the year including highlights, achievements, or favourite memories. Express gratitude for the support and connections you've received throughout the year. Encourage your followers to share what they are grateful for and spread positivity.

#NationalChampagneDay on 31st December when you can join a planned tasting event, host a virtual tasting or offer a promotion. is a fantastic opportunity for businesses, especially those in the hospitality, food and beverage, or event industries, to engage with their audience and celebrate the upcoming new year. Here are some ideas tailored for businesses: Consider offering special deals on champagne or champagne-based cocktails or champagne pairing menus.

Build anticipation by announcing countdown deals leading up to the day. Create exclusive pre-order packages for champagne deliveries or reservations. Include special items like personalised glasses, party favours, or discounts for customers who pre-order for the celebrations. Share behind-the-scenes content of your staff preparing showcasing the effort and enthusiasm that goes into making the day special for everyone.
