Faith in Action // Change in Motion
Well, hey friends. Welcome back to the Change Chasers podcast. I am Mandy, your host, and y'all, I am excited about this episode because it is football season here. Where I live in the United States in Georgia. I'm so excited to say that is the coolest thing ever to see that some of you guys are listening in other countries. Thank you so much. Hopefully you're able to understand this southern dialect, but I sure am grateful. It's been a real big joy to see all of the stats and everything coming in and just seeing that people from all over the world are listening. So I just say. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It's such a joy and such a fun blessing to be able to hopefully be a bright spot in all of you guys who are listening's ear and in your week and you know, all of the things. Just hopefully hoping that we are all enjoying our time together. As we are growing as we are going. Right? And so thinking about that, this podcast is all about providing a space where we do talk about just that. About growth, about faith, and also about having the courage to keep chasing the changes. Right. Keep chasing the life that God is so good and so great to call us into. Right. And all what he's called us to. I will just say, I guess, but with all of that said, thinking about football season, I thought it would be really fun to do a little bit of an episode of playing off. One of my favorite TV shows that used to be on, I really don't even know how long ago that it has been since it has been on the air, but it was called Friday Night Lights, and if you watched it, then you're like, oh yeah, I forgot about that show. Probably at this point. Or maybe you're gonna wanna go watch it. I don't even know if it's on Netflix now. Maybe where we could all just go. And be a couch potato and watch all the episodes again, I'm really not sure. But with that said, our theme for this episode is Clear Vision, full heart. And so with that, I, like I said, you might recognize it, but from that line, from the TV show, Friday Night Lights that said. Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose clear eyes. Full hearts can't lose. I'm sure y'all remember that That was Coach Taylor's pep talk most often in the locker room. And so with that, I want us to just think about that, like that momentum shift in that mindset of having clear eyes, full hearts and y'all, when we do then the mentality that we can't lose. Today, I want us to reframe that for our own journeys because when you've got clear vision and a full heart, then I do think you're unstoppable, especially in a sense of pursuing your purpose, right? The path and the plan and the purpose that God has for you. Or another way I think of saying that is that when your vision is clear and your heart is full, then you're unstoppable. Chasing the change that God has called you to. And so with that said, friends, let's jump right on in hot. Take number one for this episode is the power of clear vision. Vision matters. Proverbs 29 18 tells us where there is no vision, the people perish without clarity, we drift, we say yes to everything. And we get pulled in all kinds of different directions, don't we? When that happens, unfortunately the result is we lose momentum. Having a clear vision doesn't mean that you have every detail figured out. It means that you know your why, you've prayed, you've sought God's direction, and you've written down the picture of where you're going. And so when I think about that, I think about athletes. Athletes don't just run aimlessly. They know the goal. Wherever they're going, right? They know like the end line. They know when the race is going to finish. They know the play on the court, on the field, off the court off. I mean, all other things, right? They see the win before it happens. And so y'all, I just wanna challenge you. What's your vision right now? Where do you need to write down? Like whatever it is, your vision, just making it so plain and so clear, like what is that? Have you defined it? Do you know? Because maybe it's part of what's going to help you to be able to shift and pivot for a clearer path, right? Maybe it's about your health. Maybe it's about your career. Maybe it's about your family, or maybe it's even about your walk with God. Perhaps it's a goal that you desire to accomplish. So what I do wanna encourage you guys to do is sincerely, sometime this week, I want you to take a moment, just a few moments you can set up. I mean a five minute deal on your phone, a little timer, right? Just grabbing a journal. Make a note in your phone, but just take a moment and define it. Buy that. What I mean is just what is it that's a goal that you desire to accomplish?'cause I think that clarity is the first step toward change. At least that's proven to be true in my own life. And I tell myself all the time now, and I find my, even myself even having this in conversations, but I believe that clarity is kind, clarity is kind like to ourselves, but also clarity is kind to other people. And so when I just go through and I just believe that with everything that I have, that clarity is kind, I wanna remind us that y'all, it is so important to be kind to ourselves. Be kind in giving yourself the gift of just figuring out what is your clear vision. So write it down. Take some time to be intentional, to just manual. Have a little session there and allow yourself just to stop and put pen, pencil to paper, pop a little note in your phone, whatever it is. But I just really do wanna encourage you to give yourself the gift of Clear Vision, hot take number two. A full heart. And so with that, I'm just gonna say that y'all talking about a full heart, what does that necessarily mean? And so for this, I believe that the point I feel like I wanna make is that a full heart is one that is fueled by gratitude. And fueled by love and fueled by faith. I mean, I think the combo triple threat of all that, right? A, a full heart has gratitude, has love, and has faith. It's like the fire that is inside of you that says, I will keep going because I know that God is with me. You can have vision, but if your heart is empty, real talk, I've learned this the hard way, then you'll burn out. You'll chase goals, but you'll feel hollow. You'll also feel depleted. You'll feel run ragged. I mean, it's just then inevitable. And so that's why I think that it's so important to keep your heart full, especially as a believer. And for me, that's why keeping full of God's word is so important. Additional ways to keep our heart full is keeping full of joy, keeping full of encouragement from others, but also for others, right? I think that we make people better. By being kind and considerate and loving and compassionate, and doing life with people who make us better. Oh, isn't that a game changer? Y'all like, sign me up for those good people that make my life better. I do not like rolling out with folks that are just so grouchy, Gus, you know, I don't, I don't, we don't have time for that, right? Is that lady said in the viral mean years ago? Ain't nobody got time for that. But in all seriousness, I just wanna encourage you of giving yourself. Just the goodness of being able to embrace a joyful journey, having a full heart can breathe encouragement to yourself and to others. And I think about Jesus said in, John chapter 10, verse 10, he said, I came that may have life and have it abundantly. Abundant life. Y'all, I think is having a full heart style of life. So when the vision feels hard, and it does sometimes, right, your visions are are hard to chase, sometimes they're uncomfortable. Our last episode we talked about having courage over comfort, and so I know that it's not always easy, but I do know. Even though in the hard things I've just learned from my own life, and I'm sure you are the same, as well as that it's worth it, right? The tough stuff. It's worth it. And so coming back to a heart posture of choosing gratitude and allowing ourselves to feel our hearts with reminders of how far. We've come baby. Right? Let's go. Like, so for you thinking about that, like how far have you come in the faithfulness of God in being the woman or the man that he's called and created you to be? Because I think that the fullness in realizing that will be what continues to fuel you. To keep on running, to keep on going, to keep on standing, to keep on grinding, to keep on walking, keep on talking, keep moving. Grooving, right? To just keep going. And so with that, we're gonna jump in the hot take. Number three, clear vision plus a full heart equals unstoppable. And so now thinking about that, just thinking about how it all comes together, right? Clear vision on its own, it is powerful. Clarity of vision is definitely also powerful. A full heart on its own is powerful, but when you combine the two, I think that you're unstoppable. It's like in the game of football. If you see the field clearly and your heart is all in, then you can't lose. Now that doesn't mean that life won't necessarily throw some challenges your way or in the game of football, then an interception might not happen, so to speak, right? Or that you might get tackled or you might get sacked. You might get lamb blasted before you know it, but it does mean that I think that you'll always land on your feet. Because if you are anchored in clarity and in love and in self-belief of good things and not having stinking thinking, then y'all, I just think that you can be unstoppable. Clear vision will keep you on track. A full heart will keep you inspired, and so together they'll make you resilient. Make you feel more focused and ready to chase change with confidence. And so thinking about chasing change, y'all, I mean, obviously that's all the things that we continue to talk about week in and week out because this is a podcast about self-growth and continuing to be who you so awesomely desire to be. You got dream big goals go after'em, friend. Go get'em, right. Don't, don't allow the world or somebody else, some naysayer to drag you down, put you down and make you feel less than. Because I do think that if we continue to have clear vision, it really will keep us on track and a full heart will keep us inspired. So for this week's change chaser challenge our C3 time. I wanna ask you again, I've kind of already alluded to it in this episode, but for real, for serious, as I used to say, for serious, y'all, write down your vision. Make it plain, make it specific, put it in your phone, in a journal, whatever. But it tells us that in ha back chapter two, he says, Hey, write your vision. Make it plain. And then, so my next thing I'm gonna ask you to do this week is. Fill your heart daily. Fill your heart with good things, with God things. Whether it is through prayer, through scripture, through some great music that just puts a little pep in your step. Then I wanna encourage you to do that. Maybe having a gratitude journal, speaking life and love and goodness over yourself. So with those change face their challenge, little things, they're pretty easy peasy this week. So write it down, y'all. Make it clear. Make it plain and simple. Cast your vision, figure it out. Do your little, write down on it, and then also fill in your heart daily. Preparing your heart to receive the goodness of God by way of scripture journaling. Um, speak some good positive things over yourself. Maybe music, prayer, going and having a nature walk just sitting outside. Allowing the breeze, listening to the birds, whatever it is. But I just wanna encourage you to be intentional, to allow yourself to just bask in the goodness of slowing your role enough to catch the vision, make it plain, write it down, right, and then fueling your heart with all good things. And so lastly, I wanna ask you to ask yourself, is my vision clear? Is my heartful. So with that, thinking about if you can answer yes to both of those, then you are already in a position, I believe, to grow and to lead.'cause leaders are growers, right? All the time. Grinding and growing and doing. I do think that also being a servant leader is the best kind of leader, right? One of my favorite quotes is that if serving is beneath you, then leading is beyond you. And so when I think about though this question with all seriousness of Ask your heart, is my vision clear? Is my heart full? And so thinking through that, then if you can answer yes to both of those, super duper awesome way to go. Like half the battle's already won, right? But if you are listening and you aren't able to say yes exactly, necessarily to both of those just yet, then that's okay. Friends. Give yourself some grace. I like to say leave some space for grace, right? But give yourself some grace and allow yourself the opportunity to just spend some time searching and seeking what your clear vision is so that you may be able to have a full heart. Because it will happen. It really is real. It's so cool how things continue to transpire when you continue to allow yourself to be inspired, to continue to grow and do, and to be able to be who you know that you've got in you to be right. So continue to allow yourself to be inspired and then also continue to champion yourself well in such a way that it's like you get to accomplish these new internal goals that maybe you don't even have to tell nobody, right? Uh, and that you get to just kind of go into this new level up journey of your own self challenge in that sense. So I just wanna encourage you lean into that, kind of see what God's got for you next because clear vision will help you to fuel. So that you will have a more full heart. And so closing out y'all, I would just, I do smile when I think about this expression that aligns with this week's episode theme is that Clear vision plus full heart equals unstoppable. Or again, as that famous line from the awesome TV show, Friday Night Lights and Coach Taylor motivated us kind of goes along with our episode today. So I'm gonna. End out with that quote of thinking about clear eyes. Full hearts, can't lose clear eyes. Full hearts can't lose. And so if you're doing it with me, with your hand in the air, just a fist bump when this go, friends, because clear eyes, full hearts can't lose. Thanks for hanging out with me again today. Remember, when you live with clear vision and a full heart, you truly can't lose. With that said, y'all, let's keep chasing change and let's keep living with purpose. You. Bye sweet friends.
