Episode 7

Welcome to the 7th episode of the Queen's Pitch podcast. I'm, um bridget.
Kara
0:04
And I'm kara.
Bridget
0:05
And as the episode of Ted Lasso said, this week, it's poopay. So let's let it flow. Um, on that note, let's talk about this week. How was your week been, Kara?
Kara
0:19
It's been good. We've been talking a whole lot on Twitter because we're all, like, very anxious, see what would happen this week. I think we've talked about it, um, nonstop since the last game,
Bridget
0:33
pretty much at ad nauseam, or however that word is. I think that's how you say it. It's been a lot. I think I think last Monday on Twitter, the Twitter verse was extremely insane. Facebook was evil. And I told you if we didn't win this week, I really thought the whole entire community was going to burn itself down. It was a lot. I think on Monday you had to have, like, four different, um, devices just so you could keep up with which threads you were in or what you were talking about, because it was insane.
Kara
1:02
And why was that? Because we were all nervous, anxious. I
Bridget
1:07
think it's because we care about the team. If we didn't care, I don't think we'd all be so into it. I mean, we all were pulling for, like, so and so should start. So and so should not start. Well, he's my favorite player. Well, he's not mine. And it was just everybody was wanting to say what they thought we could do to get better because we knew we had the potential. But it just wasn't coming up in the results.
Kara
1:29
Right? They saw what potential we have. We know what potential we have to win. We saw this great preseason wins, which don't matter. And then we come to the actual season, and we had three losses. So we were all, I think, on the edge. And I'm sure the boys were the same with the same amount of frustration. That not getting the results that we
Bridget
1:52
want, especially because you think that's their career. That's their job. That's what they do every day. And they go out there for that an hour and a half. And if they don't perform to them, it's got to be super frustrating because they know they can do it, or they wouldn't be paid to do it. They wouldn't be at this level. So I know it was frustrating. And, um, on that note, I do need to bring up a part on Thursday when Latanzo did his interview. 1s We were all really on edge. And I think my favorite, um, people that cover the interviews did not cover it, so I didn't get that coverage. But we had one or two people that covered it, and only certain select quotes are put out. They usually do the interview a day before they actually release it to the public, or a few hours before. So our only way that we even know what's going on is by what some of the media puts out to us and tells us what latangio has said. And the certain quotes that were picked for us were not the ones that I think told us the whole story. So after Latanzio's interview on Thursday, we were all in an uproar. He was going to keep it the same way. He wasn't changing anything. I know that it got a little bit crazy at that time, and it even so went to the point of last night, we went to the independence game, and my daughter, while we were walking in, was making bets on me that latanzo wasn't going to switch the lineup. There was no way he was going to switch the lineup because of what she had heard or what she had read. So that was a little crazy. But then when you go back and you actually listen to Latanzio's interview, it was a totally different story that just goes back to say, before we ever make a decision, especially in the community and a fan base, let's get all everything, all the pieces of it. Let's hear what is really said before we nitpick every little one sentence here, one sentence there, because, uh, at doing that. First of all, we're not coaches. If we were, we would get paid to do it. And second of all, that just gets the fan base going at it with each other. And then, uh, we don't have confidence in the team. And then what if the team sees that? It was just really frustrating. I know Thursday night I was very upset with the community as a whole, just because we were instead of being positive towards the team, it was like everyone was in a negative downspiral.
Kara
4:00
So our real purpose is to support the team with our positive attitude, with our encouragement, instead of they've already got the amount of frustration. They know that the results they've been getting, they know they're not playing up to their true potential in the pitch. They are well aware of all those things. And then I'm sure Latanzio was not happy with them last week anyway. And this week we saw them work hard. We saw them actually get a day off or two. And so with that too. And then what Latanzio said made him seem like he was really considering, um, 1s being thoughtful about what to bring, what to change, what type of attitude he was seeing, um, on the pitch versus the game. 1s I don't mean just attitude, I mean like work, um, rate and smart place cohesiveness. And so I really think he took, um, that to heart this week. Because first of all, we had a number of changes to the lineup this week. We had Markson at goal instead of Cisnega. We had Lindsay at ah, right back. We had, um, Melonda and Tuiloma. And then Aful came in. We had a new midfield with Jones, Bronco and Westwood. Westwood, uh, playing Cam as well as captain. And then in the front, we had Gains, Caption and Vargas. So there were a number of changes this week and what happened? We got the result we wanted, right? We won
Bridget
5:30
finally, that win. That win we didn't think we were going to get. Especially the fact that we were away and we got that win. That was pretty amazing.
Kara
5:37
It took us, what, ten games last time? Ten games to get an away result away win. So this only took us two games away. That's fantastic. Right?
Bridget
5:47
And especially after them going owing three. So you know, that their mentality. It was probably a little shaky anyway. And so they had a lot of pressure on them. Um, they knew the team had a lot of pressure on them. Um, the fans were, I mean, a lot of the fans went down there to see them. They had a lot of stress on their back. So for them to come out and come out with a pull out a win and play with that resilience, it just made me fall in love with the team even more than I already love
Kara
6:11
them. Yeah, I thought we had a really tough opponent in that. Orlando, we'd never beaten Orlando before last year. We scored a little bit against them with both games, but we could never pull out a win. And so this was, we already knew a team that was going to be tough. I seem to remember I have a deep dislike of Orlando, um, just personally because of last year. Because I think we saw them do a lot of acting, shall we say, when getting fouls, right? And so I already knew I didn't like them. I knew this was going to be a tough game. We know Orlando has some very passionate, probably the most passionate supporters in some ways. And so to go down there, that was a tough audience. But we also saw in Orlando that had played the Tigres this week. And although they tied both times away and uh, at home for those games, it didn't matter in whatever rule they have for conc for that goal matters more. So the T grace got to move on. So we saw disappointed Orlando having tried their best to get a tie and then still get denied that. So we knew coming into this that they also had not had a defeat yet this season either. They'd won a game, they'd tied two. I think so this was their fourth game after that. Disappointing. 2s Half loss to Tigres to be bumped out of Concoct
Bridget
7:41
Craig. So I feel like they had redemption that they wanted to have redemption to show that, hey, we can still win. So I feel like they came out even tougher too. Um, 2s I was really scared after watching them this week about their tenacity, their aggressiveness when they were playing against us. Uh, I really thought they were going to get lot of the yellow cards, but they got none, which is really strange. But they did come out in that second half, the team that we thought they would be.
Kara
8:10
Yeah. And I do want to say between last game and this game, not that it really matters, but I thought both refs were really good with being fair and I thought we had a very good one this time, despite getting more yellow cards. Called a mess throughout this game. So as a fan, to me it gets very frustrating. I personally get super frustrated when I feel like we have a ref who isn't who's making a difference on the pitch with the results. And I felt like this time both ones were very fair, they were honest. And I just want to say that. So super happy with the quality of the refereeing we've been getting the last two games.
Bridget
8:48
Yes. It was actually a breath of sigh of relief, you know, that we weren't having to worry about these odd calls that were going to come in against us or we weren't going to get the ball when it went out of bounds. It seems like every time it was supposed to go our way. Well, there might have been one, but it seemed like, uh, most of the times it went out of bounds, it was supposed to go away. It did. And I think that was great. And they called fouls when they were supposed to, didn't call the fouls when they didn't need to. And I think it made the game more enjoyable to watch as a whole. But we did win, so that's a good thing. I was excited. We did still get a lot of yellow cards. There was six of them. Even the goalie got a yellow card mark, so that was good. Uh, I swear, I think this is the year of who can get the most yellow cards. And if he's got a yellow card, I'm going to go get one too. I mean, it really felt like that last night, except for the time when Bronco went in there and that guy pushed him and then Bronco just, uh, I mean, there was no way Bronco didn't buck up at that guy, which we knew that was going to
Kara
9:45
happen. Yeah. And he was captain at that point. Yeah,
Bridget
9:47
I see where Bronco got the yellow. The rest of them were kind of iffy George even laughed about it when they asked him about it. So I think he knew his was coming, but it was just the yellow cards. I don't know. I feel like we just got to stop with that because it makes it so much more intense. Because you're like, please don't get another one and get a red. Because the last thing we want to do is have a player off field. I don't mind them playing aggressively. I just don't like getting so many yellow cards because it just makes as a fan, it makes us even more on edge and gives us more of a cardiac arrest. So can you all work on that for me? Boys
Kara
10:17
yeah. And I think there is an argument to be made that at least two of those. 1s Shouldn't have been counted, but let's start with the positives. Bridget, who would you like to give your favorite to this week?
Bridget
10:28
Well, it was going to be tough for me this week. I had to think on it a lot. It took a long time and prayed about it. Um, who am I kidding? Um, my favorite this week goes to Mark's. I'm going to give a big shout out to George. Obviously, if you've listened to any of these podcasts, you know that I mentioned him every single week. I think that Marks should have got the opportunity. I honestly didn't think he was going to get it yesterday. I didn't think Pablo had done anything the week before to warrant being sat. Yeah, we had lost last three games with Pablo in, but I mean, it is what it is as a goalie. You don't fault the goalie for losing all the time. When I read the lineup and Marks was in it, I almost wrecked my car because I was driving home from Independence. I was trying to get home to see it. So when I saw that George Marks was, I was super excited. I was like, oh my gosh. But then my excitement also goes to, oh, I hope he shows up because I've been literally pulling for him per month. So if he didn't show up, I was going to be even crazier. But I had faith in, um, him. I had shared with you, uh, I send him quotes every week, just like encouragement and I honestly didn't think he was going to make it. So this week I sent him a quote from the Ted Lasho show on Wednesday and it said, the harder you work, the luckier you get. And I said, it's going to be a good day. Go try to see. And he harded it. So then when he actually got out there and was actually starting, it was like, oh my gosh. It just shows you that if you put drive and heart and keep grinding, anything can come true. Anything can. And, um, he did a good job. So on that note, when he got out there to play, I was on my edge. I was like. Watching everything he did, trying to see how he played, and I don't think that I could fault him for much at all yesterday. I know he even said there were some things he could have changed, but that goal was not against him. He had blocked that before it ever came to him. So I don't blame him for that goal. And he made some incredible saves. And the way he commanded the box, he talked to the teammates, they really took well to him. I didn't know how he was going to act out there because I hadn't seen him. I didn't see him in the And Cup last year, so I wasn't really sure how they were going to interact with him. And I know I told you last week, one of the things with Pablo was that he didn't talk to his teammate. He didn't have that interaction. And you said it's just the way they perform and how they are as goalies. And so I saw that Marks was doing that, and I honestly think that our team reacts better to that. And that might be because Kalina is one of those very outgoing goalies. So our team is used to that. They're used to the goal being interactive with them, telling them what to do, commanding it. And I think with George doing that, they were very comfortable. They did it. George made some incredible saves. I don't care what anybody says about his height, he has some jump on him. There was nothing that his height could have that did anything to hurt him yesterday. I think he should start, and I think Kalina might have some. 1s So have some competition, uh, on the bench with him. Yeah.
Kara
13:17
I think for anyone who is, um, Mark Stouter, that they probably got shown yesterday, which I'm very happy about, because I think he provides just some solid quality depth to the goalkeeping. And he had an excellent game, that shot where he has what the ball is, like, 6ft in front of him and almost goes in the top corner towards the very end. He had a number of things where he reacts and he deflects it. That could have been goals. And the one that is, he still gets one block off of it. It just unluckily drops in front of the attacking player. There's some argument there that there's some definite fault with the defenders, but I'm not going to go into that now.
Bridget
14:02
And our own two players trip up over each
Kara
14:03
other. Um, but no, he had an excellent job. He was commanding his box. He was communicating. I think there's one point where instead of making a backpass to the defense, he should have probably booted it because our team was good, tired. It
Bridget
14:19
got really scary at that point.
Kara
14:20
Yeah. But he realized it. Does that make sense? He reacted to that. He was like, oh. 1s I made the wrong move here. This is what I need to be doing because it just keeps coming back into our half. And so I thought he did so, so well for not having the opportunity as much to be out there and show his skills. So. Props to
Bridget
14:40
Marks. His interview is so humbling. Like I told you, I think I was more excited than he was about it. My daughter at one point told me to stop talking about it. And he just is so humble. But at the same time, he's all about what he can do to help the team. And like he even said in his interview, whether he's playing or he's not playing or he's sitting on the bench, he puts the same effort into it every game, every match day he goes out there, he grinds. And for him, it wasn't like a shock to him whether he was going to play or not. He knew he could do it. And to me, that's just for him to be 23. I think the announcer even said yesterday one of those saves he had was for someone that's only been in their second MLS start. That was for like a save that could have been from one that had been in 200 games. But for him to do that at that age, it just speaks very highly of him. But the humbleness means a lot too. And it just shows, like, your kid and my kid are both goalkeepers and it's tough being a goalkeeper's mom. It's stressful. Those games are super stressful. So I know that his mom has had very many stressful nights, but I can tell that she was super proud of him yesterday. We were very proud of him. I know she was very proud of him. And so shout out to George's mom as well, if she listens. Um, gets to hear this. Um, she's done a great job raising him completely because inside and out, he's just a good guy and a good soccer player.
Kara
16:00
And it was really sweet to see him go up to his mom after the game and give her a big hug.
Bridget
16:04
Right? I think it was his mom. I thought it was his mom, but I think it was her. But it was just sweet. I know that she was super proud of him. Um, but like I said, I think we were more excited than he was. I think he was just like, hey, I know I can do this. So it is what it is. But who are you going to give your favorite to this week? Kara, I
Kara
16:21
think on this one, for a new person coming into this game who hasn't gotten much minutes, my favorite this week is going to go to Jalen Lindsay.
Bridget
16:31
Lady calls him Jay. He
Kara
16:32
came in. We know it's been kind of tough on that right wing with Burn playing there and it's been a problematic spot for attacking. But I thought that Jalen brought a lot to moving the ball up the pitch and trying to fill those runs. He had a number of great crosses, including a really excellent one that actually turned into our first goal for Capeti. Even though Capetti and Gaines were both making that run, gaines was right behind him and once he saw it fall to Capti, he came in right behind him and was, um, going to clean it up in case it got blocked. But Jalen hasn't had any minutes so far this season and we didn't really see him get much at the end of last season, so we have not seen him. 1s I can't remember the last game we saw him in and for him to come out there and also bring that great attitude to the pitch, that high work rate, that willingness to just make a difference and I mean, not that he didn't make mistakes. There were a number of times where passes to games got picked off or I think one point he goes up to forward to crash the box. He was cheating forward and that creates a whole that they were then able to attack down. But we saw him getting into their final third. We saw him creating spaces despite that and his quality of crosses was really well. And so I hope he continues to get into this lineup. I think he really does make a difference. And so kudos to him.
Bridget
18:00
He did great. I know that Latanzio, uh, said he did, uh, awesome. He mentioned him yesterday in interview as well. And I know I messaged you during the game at one point because Jalen was everywhere. He was up in the box, he was defending, he was doing everything he should do and I was like, what in the world? Why is Jalen all the way up in the box? Not that it was a problem, it's just I thought it was cool and you were like, that's what they're supposed to do. And I told you I didn't see Burns doing that and maybe he was and I just wasn't paying his attention. But um, to me it was just that Jalen was there and you could see his presence known. And the defense that Jalen has is great. He's a beast as well. I like to use the word beast if you haven't figured that out, but he's a beast as well. And when he came on last night it was like this electrifying and he was there, he was making a difference. So I'm hoping that lady sees that. He did say that, that Jalen has been working really hard as well and that he thought Jalen deserved his chance and he was happy with what Jalen did. So I'm hoping that means he's going to give Jalen more opportunities because, uh, I feel like even when Byrne came in he didn't produce what Jalen had done in the first half. So. Kudos to jalen. I'm so excited that he got to start. That was another one. When I saw his name on the list, I was like, what? So when anybody says that lighty doesn't change things up, he does. Might not be what we want him to do, but I think we should just trust him more anyway. But, yes, jalen did
Kara
19:28
great. Okay. And your second favorite
Bridget
19:29
goes to I'm going to give it to Enzo because I've given him a hard time the last few weeks. I thought that he did he did incredible yesterday. I don't know what lottie said to him, but lottie daddy shook it into him, maybe by going into the press and letting us, uh, know. But enzo got out there and he played with heart. It was like he wanted to play, he wanted to win. He wanted to be the team player. He wanted to show us that he is what we paid $6 million for. I didn't see him on the ground. I think one time I saw him, but he got right back up, and I was like, oh, yes. I was super excited about it. He only was in the rest face one or two times, but he got in the rest face, and then he backed off. So I, uh, was very impressed with his composure yesterday, how he was calm about it, and then he got the goal. He was so excited about that. When Enzo gets goals, it's just about as exciting as when he falls on the ground and makes a big deal out of it. I think him and vargas have a relationship off the field as well, because the excitement in the two of them when capeti made his goal, I didn't get to see it when vargas because vargas was doing flips, but the excitement that they had when Enzo made it, it was really cute. And I think that bill enzo's confidence up. Plus, he got man of the match, and so now he sees that his positive actions have positive results, and if he continues to do that, he's got a fan base that will get behind him wholeheartedly and rock with him and go with him. So. I'm very impressed, Enzo. Props to Enzo for listening to what was said.
Kara
20:55
Yeah, he had a really excellent game, I thought, even though we'd given him a hard time, and I feel like that had been. 2s Theme throughout the last few games that this time he really did take it to heart, whether that was because of the pressure or Latanzio got through with him, with where he talked to him probably privately before he came out to the media. Just a guess. He really did keep his attitude up this time and just transition that into action on the pitch, which is what we really wanted to see. Right? We know that things aren't going to go your way. We know that there's going to be calls. He had five fouls, including one of them where he gets a yellow, where you could argue at the end when he gets that yellow, that at some point, uh, they say it's because he gets a high elbow or a hand into the face of Schlegel, who walks into it, I really think because he barely seemed like he was fighting for it. And Capti gets he gets upset on that one, and then there's another one where he's on the other side, on that right side, and he goes out and he does a nutmeg through the defender. And then somehow something happens where either there was a foul or something there I don't know what really gets called because it seemed murky, but then turns around in Orlando, gets a dropped ball. So both of those opportunities were things where he could have. 1s Gotten more upset, created more drama, but he didn't. And I thought that was super important that he drops it and he immediately channels on. So he got whatever message. And I'm really glad because I think he made such a big difference with this game. We saw the quality that he has. We saw the clinicalness he had with finishing his goal. And I think almost he could have gotten another. He had number of opportunities. I think the one thing that he may need to improve on, although it seemed a similar theme with some of his other games, is that his passing goes slightly awry.
Bridget
22:56
Right. That's what I was going to ask you. That was the question I was going to ask you. I noticed last night there were some times where he would get the ball and he would go over to the side where most of the wingers would be at, and can he not cross it? I don't know if he can't cross it or what, but every time he would get in that position, you were like, oh gosh, what's he going to do with it? Because he can't cross like sworderski or carol or I haven't seen that. Is that the case? Can he not cross because that's not his position to do right. He's not supposed to cross, but every time he would get over in the corner with the ball, I would get real tense because I'm like, oh, no, he's not the one that's supposed to cross it or pass it. Is that one of his strengths? Or are you referring mostly to the end of the game in the second half? Yes. Okay. He was doing that to waste time. Okay.
Kara
23:43
He was doing that tactically to waste time. He's not really crossed. Yeah, he probably could, but he wasn't trying to do that at that point. But I think for, uh, the ones I'm referring to, most of the missed passes were to Gains when Gains was still in. Because there's a number of opportunities where even in the first minute, if Capti connects the pass to Gaines, gains gets a goal. It would have been an easy boop right into the goal. And that happened a few different times where if he just connects one more pass to another forward in the proper spot, he just makes that more accurate pass, we get more goals. He
Bridget
24:20
was definitely on the ball more. I think he played even more defense than I've seen in the last three games out of him. I saw him more all over the field, and maybe that was just me paying more attention to him, but I felt like he was more active in the game instead of just staying in the, in the, I think you all call it the final third or whatever that part is down his end. Um, he, to me, seemed like he came back a lot more. He was in the midfield a lot more he was attacking more on that end and pressing them, and that made big difference. Um, when he doesn't do that and he just stood around, like sometimes I see Carol do that too, where they're just sitting there waiting on things to happen. 1s He seemed like he was trying to make it happen yesterday. I don't know if you all saw that, too, but I felt like he was trying to make it happen. And to me, that shows more heart. It's like, hey, I'm going to help the team win. I want to help the team win. I'm going to do whatever I can to help the team win. And I felt like the team we had out there yesterday were the guys that wanted to make sure we won. That's how I felt with those guys.
Kara
25:18
Yeah. I don't think this game and this is why I think he deserves that favor. I feel like this game, he gave that 100% and did not drag the team down. Even when there's one point where 1s he doesn't get a call, even though it looks like Orlando trips him, he got right back up and he tried, and he tried every minute that he was on the pitch. And so kudos to him. He really showed out, showed his quality and had a great game. And I want to see that every game
Bridget
25:47
from him. Yes, please do that every single game. And we will not talk about you being sat. Okay. I mean, we don't mind you being sub, but he, uh, deserves it. He played like he wanted to be out there.
Kara
25:59
I also think your point about Vargas being out there and you had pointed this out, I think, off Mike before, that Vargas being out there and Mora being out there means that they have a language in common. And so maybe that connection, maybe that chemistry is more there for them because they have a language in common and it's a little bit easier to communicate.
Bridget
26:23
That's why I think we saw when they did make the connections yesterday, and he got the goal and Vargas got the goal, they were super excited for each other because they do have that off the field. And I have noticed that when Mora is playing, he connects much better with Vargas than with the Capeti. And I saw that we did put more in at the end, and when we did put more in, I felt confident because I do think Mara is a great super sub, and Mara's got that defense that we needed at that time when he came in. But I do think that having more out there with Enzo and then, like you said, Vargas, I also think having those guys out there with him boosts him up and makes him feel a little bit more comfortable right now because he can communicate with them and has that chemistry already. Well, on that note, Kara, what's your other favor of the week? Since I've hogged most of the time so far, so
Kara
27:07
this is really hard. Although I do think there's some other people who do deserve shout outs. But my other favorite for the week is going to go to Carolyn Vargas, who showed why he needs to be out there on that pitch a lot more. He needs to be given opportunities because he is dynamic on the ball. You see that defense from the other team gives him space because they're watching him. They're going to know that he is going to react and dribble, shoot. They don't know what he's going to do. And so sometimes they're giving him that little bit more space. And we saw him get a number of great shots, some off target. 1s Despairly. And then, of course, he gets that one really amazing goal where he does a two step over and threads it through the defenders, gets a little bit of, um, clip off of an Orlando player and gets a goal which no one really reacts to because we're all so surprised. We're all like wait,
Bridget
28:01
what? Everybody thought it went in. I think even people at the game didn't realize it went in.
Kara
28:05
Yeah, so he had a really great game. I hope that he gets that opportunity to be in there a lot more and show his quality, show that he has what we need out there on the pitch, on that side especially. And I also thought he did a good job on defense. I know that sometimes that was his more a bit of weakness last year he was coming in, but I thought that he did really well. There is opportunities where he was starting to get a little slower, especially in the second half. Right. Because he is getting tired. He hasn't had that number of minutes. But I do thought he was trying not to make pointless runs. He was trying to stay in space. He was trying to play smarter with the energy he had, which is what you want. And even there's opportunities where in the second half we are having trouble keeping the ball down and winning the ball. But when we do, we do miss that. Vargas is in an open space on the left. Um, but instead we're like passing it backward. So he was there waiting in the space, waiting for a teammate to notice him while they were concentrated on that right side. And that, I think was a fault that hopefully they'll look at and improve a little bit better because he did everything you would have wanted him to do. Excellent job. He also has an opportunity to do a cross to Capetti. This is like the 79th minute or 78th minute right around there where he has an opportunity. He's like alone on, um, their side of the pitch. And Gala say the Orlando goalkeeper is off his line and instead of putting it in past, gala say he opts to send the ball to a cross to another, to Capti, who's sprinting. But it's just too far. So I almost think it could have. 2s Been another goal or two on our side. But luckily, we hang in there and make it
Bridget
30:02
count. That comes with playing time too, right? Like, if he gets more playing time, then those things are going to come more easily to him because he's going to be more accustomed to being out there. Yeah. And he hasn't had a lot of that this year. Right.
Kara
30:13
And there's even one time where he gets called for like a handball. I slow mowed that three times to see if can see that's really? A handball. I didn't see that. I mean, they're on the pitch. They're standing in front of him with the Orlando. But it seemed to me like he headed it, but no idea. I just think he did really good. There were some passes that he didn't complete. But all in all, fantastic. Um, job really made a difference. And not just with goals.
Bridget
30:40
Right. I hope he gets to start again. I think he brought something to the field that we needed. Some of that Energizer Bunny type attitude. Like, I'm getting it. And it makes the guys play even at a faster pace because he does. And I think also that means gains plays at a faster pace. So having both of them up there was like, let's go, let's go, let's go. And that helped at the beginning because we started calling the speed of the game as opposed to letting Orlando at the beginning, I feel like. Yeah.
Kara
31:07
And I think too, here, while I don't necessarily give them, I mean, they could maybe get if we shared a third favor. I don't know. Aful had a really excellent game as well. I know he's gotten a lot of criticism for being like, old man on the pitch kind of a thing. Um, but he got the assist for,
Bridget
31:25
you know, I love a fool. I'm a fool. Um,
Kara
31:27
yeah, he was really good.
Bridget
31:30
I think even though he's an old man, he's the best man out there. Uh, he just has that tenacity about him. And like what Tanzi said in his interview, anytime he asks the fool to do something, he does it. And he just brings that attitude out to the field. I mean, just like you said, for being an old man, he's not scared. He's going to play at the same speed as these young guys and he's going to show him what to do. And I think we need that out there on the field. We need that experience. Yes. We have westwood. But Westwood and a fool are two totally different players. They have two totally different personalities. And just having a fool out there, I think he's got that crazy fun personality. But he also has, uh, that I'm going to work hard personality. And the guys really get along with him and have that chemistry with him. And having him out there, I think, is a calming force to them because they can trust that side that he's on. Right.
Kara
32:17
And we saw that as, uh, left back has been a moment of weakness. Right. The last couple of games, we haven't really seen something we thought the
Bridget
32:25
last that there, right?
Kara
32:27
But, uh, a fool. You put him back there and suddenly the ship is steadied. We saw him, uh, cover a goal. We saw him just filling in and covering up his defenders and. 1s Just really playing a support out there. We also saw him do some really excellent things on offense. He cleans up a blocked shot from Gala, and then he shoots it. It goes off the woodwork through Joan's legs. I mean, he almost made that like he was close, right? So kudos to him. He had a very good pass to Vargas, which is actually a one touch pass to Vargas, that Vargas uses that space to drive in and make that goal. And so that also takes talent and just confidence and quality, that consistency that we've really been lacking. And so he had a great game. I hope he gets more opportunity to be in, even though I don't really know what distinction he has with that player scout opportunity. I don't really know what that means, um, with how often he can play. But we need a solid experience left back. And when you had that in Aful, we saw that difference in that first half. I really
Bridget
33:40
do think it was like, night and day, having a back line that's really a back on and not just some experimental back on. It made a big difference because it was like, oh, these people know what they're doing. I mean, there were times where there was holes, but for the most part, it was like, okay, can see this. This is how soccer is supposed to play. Yeah, not with your guys just willy nilly all over the place.
Kara
34:03
Okay. So, Bridget, even though we have a win this week, do you have anyone you'd like to invoke the Queen's wrath on? Oh,
Bridget
34:10
yeah, I know I sang his praises a couple of weeks ago, thought he was great. But after a couple of games, um, I'm kind of wondering about Bill, that play that we got a goal. I don't know. Uh, somebody quoted this where it said bill's already got two goals for our team already. And so the same amount of goals as Enzo has. And that's not a good thing if you look at it like that, because that means he's got two own goals already, and he's only played in four games. So when you look at that and after he tripped Milanda up again last night, which is why I think the goal went in, I'm like, what in the world is he tripping him up for? I just don't know. I do understand why he's starting, because we don't have anybody else, and we didn't even have Sobo on the line or, uh, on the bench, so that made no sense. But to me, it just seems like this is the third week in a row that Bill is just out of place or doesn't know what he's doing. And as a center back, you would think you have one job. I mean, I know you got to move around, but, dude, you need to help the goalkeeper. And whether it's Pablo or George or Kalina, we need you to know that you're going to be there. And honestly, if I was a goalkeeper, I wouldn't have any confidence in him right now. And I don't know if that's just because he just started. We have to remember 1s the guy just started four weeks ago, like a week before we started the season, and we just threw him in and said, let's go. But at the same time, he's played this position before, so it's not like it's rocket science, as Ted Lasso likes to say. So I just don't know. I don't know if it's because he's not getting it. I thought maybe last week it was because we had Bronco back there and maybe he was covering, so he was out of place a little bit, but this week he didn't really have an excuse. And I'm not impressed with him at all after this performance. And I'm just wondering I'd like to say benching, but we don't have anybody to bench him for.
Kara
36:02
Yeah, I think the thing you're picking up on is just chemistry there line is really, really important to keep that strong defensive wall. So when Melonda is coming in from behind, bill missteps over the ball because Melonda lets him have it, of course, that puts both of them behind. And then Bill, he tries he must have missed step again. And then he takes Melanda out and then they both can't get up. 1s Leaving Lona fool there to try and help defend George, which he can't come and cross to the front of his man because a full cheats across instead of watching the second Orlando guy, which you could argue is kind of his fault, too. Well, yeah,
Bridget
36:41
and Georgia just pushed it away. So George was already defending, trying to get up off the ground to get back in position. So he thought, hey, out of three of my defenders, you'd think one of the three could help me out. But instead, Bill's, they're tripping up two of them, and they're on the ground. It's just insane. Is that not rocket science? Like soccer 101 know where you're at and where the other guys at at all times. I mean, I don't know. I'm not a defensive player, so I know I'm being very critical, but I'm talking like I went to my daughter, and unfortunately, she's in goal again this year, so we're going to be nerve wracking all the place. But, uh, if you're on that back line, you need to know where everybody's at, right?
Kara
37:17
Yeah. And I think that's you're walking right into what I think is my queen's wrath for this week, which is the fact that we are still making individual mistakes that cost us. I don't know that I can give it to any one player. I think your point about Bill is well made. I think he had a little more. Because if you're on that back line and you make a mistake, we know it leads to goals. 1s And so you do have a harder job just like the goalkeeper, that if you are not cleaning that uh, up the way you need to be, then it's going to expose us and give the opportunity to the other team. So that's why we are back having our old problems in the last couple of games. So there are things that while we won this week, that doesn't mean that those faults aren't still there needing to be patched. We have a number of opportunities where it's just individual mistakes cost us some good opportunities and this one is unfortunately one of them. And I think the two things that I thought was okay, where's the midfield to come back and help because those Orlando players were shrieking in we're caught in transition, which is what happens again because that's why Jalen isn't back there is because he's already we're transitioning. It's like Nuno has the ball at one point and he is supposed to be sending it forward but he sends it back to Melanda and uh, Melonda sends it back forward to Nuno, but Nuno doesn't collect it, he lets it go past him. Then Orlando cleans it up and so therefore the cross comes over the heads of the defenders. I don't think Jones was helping at that point. I think his job as CDM wasn't, he was thinking that defenders would have it and so he's not running there either. So it's just kind of they leave them all out to dry and it's just uh, a comedy of errors on that play.
Bridget
39:18
Yeah, I think that's one of our biggest things is our guys are beating themselves and that's been our one of the mantras since the beginning of the season. As they continue to beat themselves more so than a team beating them. These yellow cards have to stop. I mean, I get it, it shows that we're putting heart and soul in and aggressiveness, but there's no reason that we're getting six yellow cards a game. A lot of them are the same players and so I feel like we just need to do better. M, even Latonzio says mental wise, we need to stay in the game. The whole game, all the way through. I don't know what it is. We can't pull a whole 90 minutes with our team just acting like they're in it for the whole 90 minutes. I don't know if we'll get tired. Maybe it's an endurance thing. I don't really know what it is. I will say that I'm impressed. That lady actually subbed last night. He did put in four subs. I think it was. 1s Oh, he put in five subs, so he put in five subs. So that was really impressive. We've been yelling subs, 1s so he did sub, um, last night. So that's a good thing. But when you come in as a sub, you need to pull your weight as a sub, too. Because there were some subs that came in last night that I don't feel like pulled their weight. When we needed them to pull their weight, all they had to do was come in and play some defense and hold the ball. But instead, it was like George getting railed on at the end of the game because we were just not doing what we needed to do. And 1s if you're not going to be starting, don't pout about it. But then when you do get to go into the sub, make a difference so that you can show that you should start. But if you don't, then I feel like you should just continue to sub. And I'm not going to say who I'm thinking about, but there's a couple out of the five.
Kara
40:56
So I think there are some differences there with what I think we should probably break that down a little bit. Kind of what happened in the second half. Because I do think you're right in that we were getting a lot of shots on marks because Orlando, if they don't make that goal, if we get that goal from Aful, then I think that shuts Orlando down entirely. I think by us allowing them that goal, it builds momentum. And that's where we kind of lost it. That momentum really, honestly did make a difference there. Um, after that, we do not. 1s Control the momentum anymore for the rest of the match. So we have to hang on with all of our tooth, nail, claws, everything to defend and hold our lead.
Bridget
41:43
Do you think that's why we were getting yellow
Kara
41:45
cards? I do, yes. I think some of them were tactical. I think one of them was a silly foul. I think just a misstep on one of them that automatically turns into a yellow. I think the one for Capeti doesn't actually happen. I think the one for Veronico probably shouldn't either. But nevertheless, I think they do. And I do think you're right that we're getting too many yellow cards and that may play a, ah, key point in the next few games next month. Um, as we go into May, if you get so many you could stay out of match. We do need to be wise about that. Yeah,
Bridget
42:22
it works on some teams, but then there are some teams that you can't afford to do that because you're going to be more aggressive in that game. So you can't act like crazy and be getting yellows all the time, because you do then do run that risk of getting a red card and we just cannot afford to go down a player. That's just not something that we need to do. It just freaks me out when the goalie gets a yellow card, which I understand the way Marks even said it, um, he didn't say he didn't on purpose. You can read in between the lines that he was doing it to manage the clock and I get that. But if your goalkeeper gets two, you're screwed. And so I was like, oh my gosh, I understand that, but it freaks me out. 1s Just, I don't, I wish we weren't in a position where we had to get yellows and had to do stuff like that to manage the time. So I wish that we could get out of that, of that mindset. I wish we could get in the mindset of just attacking, pressing the whole game. And like Lasan said, that's not going to happen. But I would just like to not have to worry about the goalie getting red cards.
Kara
43:24
Well, I think that's something that Westwood actually pointed out this week was that the English grit was we needed to bring to this. And I do think that this game really shows some of that. I think that there were some tactical fouls full that's the first reason he gets a yellow at the very beginning is he does do a tactical foul, as does Bender, even though he doesn't get a yellow. So I do think they were playing smart, they were playing a um, little dirtier on the pitch because that's what had been working against us before. But I also think that some of the difference you saw with we needed to sub just a tad earlier for some of those players. I'm glad that he subbed, but you could tell that Gaines was getting a little tired. That Vargas, it was hard to tell whether he was just winded or just choosing his moments to be smart. But I uh, do think we need to have those subs come in just a tad earlier. And I do think part of the reason when you saw those subs come in, our tactics change. And I do think that makes a big point towards the end of that match. The reason why we are not going for more goals, why we don't get in, and why Orlando is able to just keep attacking and attacking and attacking because we pulled out and we prioritize Jones actually as a hole in the center back, we stuck extra defense there. So if you notice that back line then has five players and I think that's part of Latanzio's tactics there, which is why the ball doesn't come up more into their half on for half of that second half is because we've pulled out our midfield. Now that our midfield is down, we cannot push the ball up the pitch because there are so many holes. And so that's why you saw a number of those crosses like from Mora, they try to get it out of our end and it just ends up going back to Orlando because we're missing those giant spaces to where another of our men could grab it and move it. And so I think that is a tactical point by the coach. I don't necessarily think that is our fault. That's what he wanted us to
Bridget
45:30
do. On that note, we saw Nuno play half the game last night because of Westwood going out with his, uh at first they said it was a groin injury. But then after the game, someone said he got a knock, so I really don't know what he was holding his thigh, so I thought more of the groin, but then they said he got a knock up, so I don't know if a knock up is in your groin. I don't know. I, um, thought a knock up was in your head, but who knows? But he went out and so Nuno came in at the half and. 1s I didn't see much out of Nuno. So why did we not see as much out of Nuno if he played more minutes? Because everybody has been pulling for Nuno to start. Nuno needs to start. Nuno needs to start. Even I was one of those. Why do you think that Nuno didn't make as big of a difference yesterday as we've seen Nuno when he came in? Those ten minutes that Latanzi allowed him to come in for each of those last few games? There could be
Kara
46:23
a couple of different things here. One, I think that his positioning was not predicted as part of it. I think he's playing a little looser for positioning. And so sometimes if he's in a certain spot and the ball gets left, if we're not winning those second balls, which that did happen a lot in that second half yesterday, mhm that it loses that opportunity for him to get it. There were also a couple where he would just be in a couple of seconds off the wrong space at the wrong time, or we were bouncing the ball around. I don't necessarily think he played a bad game. There were a couple of opportunities where he was very, very good. Like there's a towards the end after the 86th, 87th minute, right around there, um, there's a pass to Copetti and then it goes to Yoziak where he crosses it to Bender. It's just too powerful and it goes out. But you saw him play lay some things that just didn't connect. And I think that the reason that happens is because he hasn't had those minutes. 1s I don't necessarily fault him for that. I just think that he needs
Bridget
47:25
more time. Yeah. I'm not saying he did bad at all. By no means. So don't hope, huh? No one takes it that way. I'm just saying that when he had come in for those few minutes that we had seen, he made the big difference, and we saw it. And everybody we all love Nuno. We think Nuno is a great addition to our team. But when he did get to play more minutes, I just didn't see what I thought we would see out of Noon, uh know? And I wasn't sure if it was because he's been playing the winger position. And then, um, when he went in for Westwood, he went in as a midfielder, which I know Nuno is a midfielder. So I don't know why that would have thrown him off as much. Or maybe, like you said, we don't see Westwood doing flashy. I mean, he does this stuff, but he's not out there being flashy. So I guess when you put Nuno in that spot, then he's not being flashy either. So that could also be it just I just thought about it while we were talking, and I was like, oh, wait. Everybody's been talking about how give Noon minutes, give no minutes. We gave Nuno minutes, but it wasn't like, oh, my God. We gave Nuno minutes. We could tell. You know what I'm saying? And that's why I was just wondering why you thought that might have
Kara
48:26
been yes, I think you're right. In some of the points that you bring up there, he got minutes. We're just not seeing the quality because we made a number of those individual errors. Right? We're not connecting those passes. We're not connecting those crosses. And that's really what you saw there, where he gets cut out. He is kind of doing that connector. Not that he didn't have a few errors too. Anybody can. But I do think that if we control the ball, we play our ball a little more we win those second balls in the second half, then you would have seen Nuno get more opportunities. I think he does what he can, but at some point, the tactics change to just be on defense. And that's why you see the midfield not come up. You see them just stick it in our half which they're able to penetrate a little easier because we're giving them that space. And that's why you get a lot of those crosses. But I think that's where we have the advantage there on height and aerial duels. Which is why Melonda and Lewoma and Jones are all in that center three because that's what they're
Bridget
49:31
really good at, right? And they're all tall. They're really tall. Yeah. You
Kara
49:35
know what I liked, too? There's one point where Byrne came in for Lindsay at one point, and I just want to say I really liked he blocked an Orlando player out from getting across. And I just really liked that he just stuck his rear end right into
Bridget
49:50
him.
Kara
49:52
And so it didn't connect to anything on that side because he stood in front of him. Um, so he was playing smart yesterday day when he
Bridget
49:58
came in. Okay, good. I'm glad you gave me some positive about Burn because I did not see that. And I was going to say we did not need to send him in, but we could have left Lindsay. But that's just my personal opinion on that one, too. I'm not a big fan of Burn at this moment because I just didn't feel like when he came in that he contributed as much. But you obviously saw something that I did not see. So, on, um, that note, what do you think? So we're going to play the Red Bulls this weekend. Yeah, we're coming off a win. We're always super excited. We hope that the guys are riding this, not the we're good, not too confident, but at the same time confident train that's coming in. Do you think lady should stick with this lineup, or do you think he should make some more changes? On that note, we do know Soderski won't be playing, right? Because he's going to the international play this week,
Kara
50:45
correct? Yes. So I think that's one of the reasons why we did not see him in the lineup this week. I don't necessarily think that he was benching him for he was upset with him. I don't necessarily think that was the reason. I think he put the people he needed on the pitch, um, like Gaines and Vargas, to be able to run and create those chances because there was a tired Orlando. So I think that was a tactical change that we definitely had. And I think that's why he benches Josiak and prioritized him at the second half, because he is a, uh, bulldog with defending. Right. Right. So I think he knew what we needed. And so I think that's the reason why you didn't see Yosiak out there. But Swadowski got called up by Poland to play the Euro qualifiers. We know he probably won't be starting with lewandowski is probably going to get prioritized there. But I think that's the reason we don't see Swadowski come in is because we don't need him. We were ahead, so we didn't ask him to go out there when he turns around and he needs to go play for his national team. So we do hope he has a safe trip, and I hope he gets to play in the next two games. But I'm not sure when he'll get to come back. I know they do play two qualifiers for the Euro just not when I haven't been able to look that up quite yet. But I do think that's one of the reasons it's going to be a bit before we see him. And so that means to me that Santos and Shinishiki and Westwood it looks like since Westwood was playing cam yesterday, that. We might see any of those three at that camera. And so it'll be interesting to see what we bring to
Bridget
52:17
Red Bulls, especially with Westwood potentially being hurt. Like, I don't know how long does a groin injury take? I think I remember full sick got one in the World Cup or something and that was a big deal. But he came back like three days later. So is a groin injury going to sideline Westwood for a while or would a groin injury be able to better itself by the weekend? I do
Kara
52:40
think there is a distinction there between thigh or groin. I do think that if you do see a groin injury, from what I've heard an announcer say, because I, um, am in no way an expert on anything that you need to be more careful than if it's a thigh injury. So I do think they pulled him out precautionary because you saw him limp a bit, but you also saw him run in those few minutes where we were just trying to make it to half time so that he could sub him without using a window.
Bridget
53:07
He was walking around afterwards too. Uh, right, okay. Because he was walking around afterwards on the field when they won. He wasn't like limping around like, oh, I'm hurting him. Hurt. He was walking around. Right. So
Kara
53:16
I think it's out of precaution for his age and because we do need his leadership, I think we'll be seeing that come out this week to see what maybe injury he does have. And I didn't hear that in the press conference. I just know he was saying he's going to get assessed. So I think that's still to come. Right. They
Bridget
53:35
didn't say what he had. Like I said, lady was talking about getting a bump up, a knock and then somebody had said 2s and so I don't know. There's so many different misinformation out there. But then the announcer when he went down said it was a groin injury. But 1s I don't know. But I just know that if Swedeski is not playing on starting this weekend, we definitely will need I would feel like a Westwood at least if sworderski is out, we need Westwood there just as the common force, a calming force. Because I would be a little scared if we just didn't have either one of them out there.
Kara
54:11
No, I think that's one of the reasons why we have the depth on the team. I think that's one of the opportunities that we have. So we really get to see hopefully Santos maybe get to start this week. I think that'd be a great opportunity because we know the Red Bulls are going to bring a tough game. Luckily, we're at home this time, so we're going to be wearing our crown jewel kits for the first time. It's debut this week and so we hope you come to that.
Bridget
54:33
Pop Shark Kit lillian has blue hair and for the charlotte C. Kit, and I asked her if she wanted to go ahead and dye her hair purple for this weekend for the Pop Tart kit. But we're going to hold off for a couple more weeks on the purple hair. But we're excited about this pop Tart kit. I got my purple $90 CL TFC shirt. Yes. $90, uh, T shirt. Best T shirt ever, because I'm going to wear every single game that I can. So we're super excited about that. I can't wait to see those guys in that uniform. The ones we saw looked really good. So to see this whole field out there at night poppins it's going to be great. If they get the billboard working, hopefully they will.
Kara
55:12
I do think it's important to remember that we lost against New York Red Bulls at the end of last season partially because we knew our playoff hopes had been dashed. But we know that New York Red Bulls play very similarly. They have the same style as St. Louis. So this is going to be a run at you match. You have to bring all of your aggression physicality to this game. Hope we get a good referee for that reason because I think red of the other team that I really, really do not like. We need everyone to bring their support for the team this week, especially coming off a win just to buoy up the team, support them. Against Red Bulls. They are coming off. They had a one win, two draws and one loss. So we're still very much in the realm of catching them hopefully. But this is going to be a match to win. We need to just focus, not letting them in behind, keeping those 1st 20 minutes especially good defensively and bring our offense and focus on that.
Bridget
56:10
Do you think they'll keep the same lineup?
Kara
56:12
I'm not a good predictor of this. I don't do that very well. I think Yosefiak will start again because of his physicality, because Red Bulls are tough.
Bridget
56:22
Yeah, but Vargas earned a start. He
Kara
56:24
did. I don't know, it depends on his tactics. If he's like go out there and score for the first half and do like we did this week, well then you're going to see that. So I think it's going to depend on what he wants the team to do this week, which is why I'm really bad at predicting, I don't do that well. But I do hope he brings a similar right, uh, back left back pairing. I do hope he keeps Bronco in the midfield this week. He's a good connector. I don't think his scores necessarily show what quality he has on paper there, but I do think having him back in the midfield made a difference this week. I think Jones, one of the things that was surprising about Jones this week was he did a dribble past defenders for the first time ever. I think he had some holes where he could have done a little better, but I want to see that Jones this week, the one where he protects the ball from the opposing
Bridget
57:17
team. I know we talked about last week that maybe lady should go back to the old school lineup. Like that was gelling at the end of last year and it looks like he went back to that as close as he could with these new additions. He did the best that he could get back so that they could gel together and then insert your Enzo and your Westwood in there. And I think it helped him out. It helped him whole a lot that Swedesky sat because of the international, I mean that just helped him out because he didn't have to choose there on what to do with that. And I think that we've all been talking about that chemistry getting back together, and I hope that he sees that that's the case and continues it. 1s You can't trust what lady is going to do. To be honest, um, I still call him Lady Daddy because he seems to figure it out. We don't know what the heck he's thinking or what he's doing, but whatever he's doing, you can see how it could work if they implemented it. Right? And that's exactly what he keep. Talking about if they implement it right, it's going to work. Then when he went back to where everybody should have been, it did work. So I'm hoping that he, in his own mind, says, okay, let me just integrate whatever I'm trying to do this new thing with the old thing and see if we can mash it together. Do you think that George is going to start next week?
Kara
58:31
I hope that we see him start next week. I also hope that
Bridget
58:34
we get I don't really see how you
Kara
58:36
can yeah, he's on a roll, so let's give him the chance. I think he likes to not shake it up if that's what's working. So I think there's a very good chance you could see marks because I'm
Bridget
58:44
just going to be mad if I don't get to see marks start at home, because I'm going to get rid of there early. I'm going to make a fool out of myself while he's out there practicing. If anyone's there early, that's going to be me on the sideline acting a fool. Do not confuse me with Harrison a fool. I'm going to be acting a fool with double O's, but I won't get arrested, so don't worry about that. Won't be bloody married time because I don't do Bloody Marys in the evening. But I am totally going to be there. And I hope that I get to see Mark Stark, because that would be great to see. And I feel like that would be even better for him, too, because he's from Raleigh, so he'll have all his fans there, have all his teammates. How Clemson? People can come up and, um, I don't know. I think he deserved it. I didn't see how Pablo would have got sad either. But he did lose, george won. So let's keep George in. That's my main goal. I mean, he can do whatever he wants. Just keep George and that go no, I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. Do not listen to me. Laddie I also
Kara
59:37
think there's positive news, what with Mello and Armore getting some good reports from their health. So I think there's a good chance that we could see them get some more time, get back to full health. It would be really cool if we saw them at some point in the future, getting debuted in front of, uh, a home crowd as opposed to an away crowd. But I think we'll have to see. I don't know if that's going to happen this coming week, but I do know that you pointed out, like, why didn't we see Sobasinski?
Bridget
60:08
He wasn't even on the bench.
Kara
60:10
I think one point that's really good is that just like, we saw Jones popping that slot back into a center back. I think that's one of the reasons why it didn't matter. I also don't think, in my opinion, that Silvasinski brings what Latanzio wants for some reason, so who really knows? But I think some people who really love silvasinski are probably going to be disappointed
Bridget
60:32
again. If you listen to any of latanzio's interviews, if you listen to anything he said, he is all about grinding and working hard and putting in your effort at practice. And if you do that, he's going to let you play, and he's going to reward you for that. And if you do not buy into that, then he's not going to let you play. Like, it's just not going to happen. So I don't know if sobo is not putting enough effort into it, but he didn't even have him as a backup. I don't know. I don't know. Maybe he didn't want to fly down there, but like you said, DJ could have just went right back into that slot. Anyway. Um, as far as adam armor, he came off of the injured reserve list this week. So how long do you think it would be before he could come back? I know he. Won't start, but when do you think it will be that we could see him actually as a sub? Uh, I think he's got to give him some time to get match ready. And so I'm not quite sure what that means, whether that means that Crown Legacy is going to start playing and he's going to try and give some of our players to Crown Legacy to kind of build up a little. I think there is a good chance that you could see he does like what he did with Mora this week, where he puts them in at, like, the just to give him a few minutes. I don't necessarily think that's going to be this week because Red Bulls are a very physical team, and I think we play who, Toronto after that.
Kara
61:50
But I think the physical teams, I think he's probably going to be more cautious because it's very easy to get re injured after you're coming back from a serious injury. So I think he's going to be cautious for a bit. So I think it's probably not that we're going to see him immediately. I do think there's better chance, um, in April.
Bridget
62:07
Okay. I just would like to see him come back. He brings a little spark to that team as well, like Vargas does that 1s it's kind of one of those things. Once he's there, it just filters out to all the other players. And it's a good thing that he's on the sidelines still because that excitement still comes and he's a grinder. And you know how I feel about those grinders. I'm all about him. So on that note, I think that we're going to wrap it up. I'm so glad that we actually had a win this week. It was much better to talk about good things, wins, being excited. We hope everyone comes out this weekend. The game is at 730 on Saturday night. Again. It's with the Crown jewel kit. Um, there's also a Crown Legacy game on Sunday at the Sportsplex. If you are a seasoned ticket holder, I think it's $10 a ticket. If not, it's $15. So it's not that bad. Definitely need to come out and see those guys. On that note, speaking of the Crown Legacy, kara had mentioned last week that I believe Brandon Cambridge and then there was another player we saw on the roster that was loaned out.
Kara
63:05
Yeah, Scardina.
Bridget
63:06
Scardina and Scardina and Brandon Cambridge, I think it was. And they're both loaned out to the Crown Legacy. So I believe we might see them play on Sunday. Excited to see the Legacy play as well, but I'm excited to see our boys play at home. Hoping George gets in, uh, that goal again. Hoping everybody comes out and is safe. But we hope everybody has a great week. And if you can just be nice on the Twitter verse and don't tag a player if you're going to talk crap because that's just not cool. It's just not cool. Anyway, on that note, I hope everybody has a good
Kara
63:38
week. Have a good week, guys. Thank you for listening.
Episode 7
Bridget
0:00
Bridget, who would you like to give your favor to this week?
Bridget
Yeah. You
Kara

know what I liked, too?
