Season 2 - First Episode

 Kara

 0:15

So welcome to season two of your Queens Pitch podcast. I'm Kara

 Bridget

 0:19

and I'm Bridget, and we're back

 Kara

 0:21

to the 2024 season. Yay! 1s Well, only upon us. So we didn't quite intend to end where we did last season. But it was December and there were lots of illnesses going around in the holidays, and so we just decided we'll wait for the new Year to discuss all the amazing things that happened after our interview with Becca Westwood. So here we are. It's during pre-season and there have been some some things we haven't discussed on air, the hiring of Dean Smith. That's something we need to talk about today. Bridget.

 Bridget

 0:59

Yeah, we always love a good Dean Smith in North Carolina too. So I'm excited about his name. There's no way he can come here and have that name and not leave a legacy. And hopefully it's a better legacy than the last coach. So we had here at the team. But it's going to be just as good as the Dean Smith at Chapel Hill. So I'm excited. And he's British or something. So he's going to accent. I really like

 Kara

 1:21

that. Yeah, I think this is a good hire. Everything I've seen about about him, his manner. Um, Bridget and I got to attend the press conference last month, which was really exciting. Yeah, I just I think he has such a positive attitude. He really seems to have this outlook of, of building cohesion and teamwork that I really liked, but also like he has a different viewpoint and how I think he plans things. And so he's very personable with the media. He's personable I think, with fans, and it really seems like he's taking still that like father ish guidance, which you really want to see in the coach that we liked before. So I think this is such a good move. And you know what else? I think that having the people come back for pre-season in Carroll, um, come back, I think was a great sign about the confidence in. Coach Smith.

 Bridget

 2:23

He enjoyed being here. I know that one of the big selling points for him was that he said he had come to a game here about 18 months ago and he was a fan, and he said in the you know, he obviously said, I'm not the sweets, but one of the boxes. And he was sitting there and he was watching it, but he was already he was already enjoying the atmosphere, so he already had that. And then also I read a little bit of about him while he was coaching at Aston Villa, and they said he like resurrected their fan base. And I think that that says a lot for a Charlotte. See, getting a coach that is more interactive with the fans, but also one that will help build the fans up and build that. So I think that that'll work hand in hand, and you always want to feel good about the coach that you have, and you want him to enjoy the fans that he has in the stands too.

 Kara

 3:11

Yeah, so we can't wait to see what he really pulls off in this season and hopefully it was a really good move and we'll see great things from him.

 Bridget

 3:19

Hopefully he'll last more than a year or six months. Yeah, that

 Kara

 3:22

is the big hope isn't it. Well he

 Bridget

 3:25

went six months and then we went to a year and a half. Well like a really a full year. And then hopefully this one will be the rest of his career. He's

 Kara

 3:35

only had a week and a half to get to know all the current players, and maybe an extra week to kind of meet some of the guys who came back a little early from the break. So, you know, he's got a long, a long job ahead of him. You know, we're curious to see what he actually wants to fill holes with because we're missing quite a few number of people positions of need on the team, which is worrisome to all fans. But we also want to say like, well, what does Dean think? What direction does he want us to go and what formation is he going to use on the pitch? He said he has an attacking style of play, which is exciting, but what does that mean for defense? With Lufthansa's style? It was it was rigid. It was. One precise way to play. He doesn't necessarily want to see all this going backward all the time, which, yes, that was a big critique point last season. And so it'll be nice to see what this more flexible, more hopefully exciting and go worthy style of attacking play that he hopes to bring based on his previous stints at other clubs.

 Bridget

 4:44

I just like hearing them talk. I can't wait to hear him yelling woo woo! Hopefully he has that passion to, you know, you like watch the Premier League games and they're all over the place and the coaches are flipping out and all that. I like that, you know I liked that last year. So I really, really will like it if he does that this year. You've seen a lot of the photos that they've had. They've been depressed, they've been putting out, and he seems to be being chummy with the players. They seem to all be getting along. They seem to, I guess, learn from him and mold into his style of play, because I'm sure it's a big transition from what they were doing last year to this year, and from all the stuff that we see and obviously they're not there anything negative, but it seems like they're all buying into his his system and buying into what he's doing. And they seem to be really grinding and working hard. And you know how I am about grind. And that is to me, if he's got them all buying that system in a week and a half and they're working so hard, I think that just has a good outlook for the rest of the season. Let's hope. And

 Kara

 5:46

the way he said it is that he has a positive attitude towards learning, like that's what he really wants everything to be about. But also we've seen him emphasize fun in some of the media recently, like the one where they just did a scrimmage and scored some goals. You know, that's pretty cool to just be like, show me what you got. Have some fun. Be be free about it. We've been working hard all week. Now's your time to shine. If that's what you want. I like that, and I like that. He's not afraid to. Even though they have a lot of work, that they also have time for play and to enjoy themselves, because it's just been a stressful year. And there's things about preseason, of course. We just recently had the anniversary and of the passing of Anton Walks, and that has to be tough for the guys at preseason again, even though they're not in the same space, they are down at preseason in Florida. So and dealing with that in their own way. But also they're building a new team and they've got new dynamics. Having a new coach is also kind of off putting, but not in a, you know, like you don't know what you're going to get. And so I think the fact that things have been so positive, we've seen lots of smiles, lots of playfulness, more cohesion, more chemistry between the players that we have right now, even though we haven't really brought anybody in except our super draft. And, you know, some of our crown legacy players have gone on with preseason right now, too. We've seen some of them there, even though they're not officially on the first season. It's nice to see that. So I'm really hopeful. And then it'll be exciting here in the next two weeks to see what you know. The Coachella Valley Invitational means for them, because last year we were just doing friendlies and I guess just seeing how that went. But it seems like this year we're in the actual competition. So what does that mean? And first of all, can we watch it because we're already dying. But probably we could

 Bridget

 7:43

if anybody wants to play for me to go out there and tear it all off stream. I got a newspaper, my travel and my hotel.

 Kara

 7:49

Anyways, I hope we get to because, you know my boy will be in the goal a lot. You know, I'd like to see that. So every chance I get.

 Bridget

 7:59

Uh, and we'll get to see, you know, the new guys. Like, I'd like to see Tiger out there playing Tiger. Sorry. I just had to say that anyway. I guess one of the good things, though, about that I've noticed about pre-season. And I know it is for you too, which I told y'all was Carroll came back and he's happy. He seems like he is enjoying himself, and I don't even see Carroll doing that the last two years ever. I don't think he seems to be having a really good time, and I think that bodes well for us, at least for now. Hopefully. Fingers crossed. Now

 Kara

 8:31

that's exactly how I've taken it to. I think that's a good thing for Carroll, because I think it was really up in the air. But I think the signing something about signing coach Dean has been hopefully positive to get him to stay here for a bit. We know he has his own price, and we know that the club is unwilling to go under that price. Like we don't have to get rid of Carroll, thank goodness, but it is a wish for him to want to go so and he's on his last year with us anyway from what I understand. So he could go in the summer, he could decide he doesn't want to stay through pre-season, you know, and he gets sold now. But the fact that he's at preseason, having fun, working so hard hopefully means he gets to stay with us for at least six months. Just see how it goes, because he really deserves the chance to shine, and not in the way that we had such difficulty with. At the beginning of last

 Bridget

 9:29

year. He would be able to play his own position.

 Kara

 9:31

Well, let's hope, but that depends on how Dean wants to do the formation, because we still have Enzo and that was kind of the even. He didn't try them both on the same, but

 Bridget

 9:42

I didn't think we got Enzo to replace Carroll, did we? Was that what he was doing? I think that's what he was doing. I thought he was trying to give Carroll some assets to build upon.

 Kara

 9:52

Yes, but it wasn't quite in the way that I think is natural to Carroll success. Like Carroll Carroll's a goal scorer. And so when you didn't have Enzo up top, you had Carroll up top goal, goal, goal or assist or something like Carroll really shined. And when he was not given that up top spot because of how we were playing, and there was extremely rare times where we even played both of them up top, then you didn't see that shine as much. That's the thing is, what does coach Dean see as? Carroll and Enzo working together and how? Because we know it didn't work so well last year, at least not to the success. Much of either of them

 Bridget

 10:35

when they were both playing together. Right. And they're different too. So we have a two for four or

 Kara

 10:40

whatever that for 42, but yes, yes for 42. But I'm going, you know, I go backwards anyway. Karen knows like I know backwards. It just makes more sense in my head. I don't start with the goalie like he's the last guy. You don't start with him. That's so stupid. Anyway, those front two, if you had them both playing Enzo and Carol, who scores most? I still think

 Bridget

 11:01

Carol and they can pass it each other.

 Kara

 11:04

I mean, we saw them have chemistry at times. We saw them do some fancy stuff. I think the problem is, you know, that Enzo had such difficulty last year. He was constantly off and on, injured, not injured, didn't quite get the chemistry in this front that he'd served again, not being utilized the same way. And that also depends too, on what job he's told to do. And a lot of the time it was like, hold up this play. Let someone else do the work, constantly put it out to the wings. And so with this more creative, attacking style of play, I'm hopeful that that gives Carole and Enzo hopefully some more opportunities to try some fancy stuff, because we've seen them try it. It's not always pulled off, but we're like, oh, you know, in our hearts and our throats with some of those moves last year, but they just didn't pull off and they've got to pull off. We've got to pull off that chemistry and excitement in that final third. But I would say that product is really there for everybody to improve upon. I guess I'm just excited about this. I hope we don't get out there on that first game and play like we have the last two years. I'm I'm expecting us to get out there and to go balls to the walls. I'm probably gonna have. I'm being a root for a rude awakening. 2s I just guess what I think attacking. I'm like, here we go, you know? But we probably won't be. Here we go. Who

 Bridget

 12:27

knows? Who knows? Anyways, what would you want to talk about? What else we want to talk

 Kara

 12:31

about today? Well, that brings us to our third DP, who we actually haven't seen in a bit. Where is Camellia? Is he gone? I wonder if he's even down there with him. We saw him get on the plane. I really think on the plane going, I don't know. We saw him coming back here with Carol because we saw Kaleena met him in the airport. How cute was that little Brewskis I like that I didn't know that Carol and cleaning had it, but hey, you know I like that. But then we saw him in the video where Brax was giving everybody, you know, hugs. And the next thing you know is like, there's no cameo at all anywhere. That's true.

 Bridget

 13:08

So even if they want to say we want to get rid of him, is he still down there practicing with them all? And they just say, don't put this dude's face out.

 Kara

 13:14

That that is the question of the preseason, isn't it? We obviously Enzo has no intention of leaving Carroll seems like he's on the side right now of staying. But we've got to lose a D.P. and apparently can't. Carmel can't be bought down. He cannot be put down into Tim level. He's being paid too high that he has to count as a DP. That

 Bridget

 13:39

just sounds funny. Let me put down. Can I be put down?

 Kara

 13:42

Yeah. He cannot be put down

 Bridget

 13:44

to ten level. 1s We don't know what all that jazz is. It's not about money. And you know another thing?

 Kara

 13:50

It's different salary levels and DPS. They, you know, above a certain level of tab money, which is like special extra money, which Tam level is what Westwood and Brecht are currently getting paid. They're on that high level. They don't count as DPS. And that's kind of how Inter Miami has pushed some of their people. Why? We're all like but they have too many. 2s But then we have someone like Camille who he doesn't act like a DP because he doesn't get paid the level of a DP officially. But yet he is pulling that roster spot because of how much he gets paid, which is his transfer fee and thus his salary and how it affects our Charlotte FC budget. Like, we have to get rid of somebody and it doesn't seem like his contract can be negotiated down. So that leaves him leaving. And he's already said that he wants to go back to Poland. He has had a rocky, I would say, career here. Like there's times when he's really shown and then there's times where he's had just terrible luck and not able to get the results that really allow him to shine either. But I would say if he was on a lower salary level and not having that deep pressure, like we would have maybe been able to keep him more, he would have gotten less criticism and been more successful. But again, it is what it is. But we need that roster spot. We need either a new DP or and this is the current rumor. We need a young DP. And so right now our current young DP that we have on our roster is Curwin Vargas. We can only have one if we filled the three DP spots with regular DPS, but if you get two regular DPS and then your third DP slot is filled by another young DP, then you can have up to three young DPS on your roster. Girl yeah. Soccer. Soccer. Math.

 Bridget

 15:52

Yeah. It's confusing. Yeah. Sounds like I know when that all happened, I was like, I don't get it at all. Don't I need a diagram? Show me something. It was a nightmare that day, but I didn't figure it out, I

 Kara

 16:02

think. So the rumor has been that we were signing this young DP, our grown back. I'll be. But however, will he, won't he? And he definitely won't. We got kind of played according to Daniel Charlotte soccer show and it seems like from Greenback's agent he's not coming to Charlotte. We supposedly offer 9 million and then 11 million and then got played. Are we looking still for another? Yep. The question is probably yes, because we want to be able to bring up Petkovic from. Crown Legacy as a USP as well. In addition to our other two signings recently of Churchill Downs and as goalkeeper from crown legacy and draw Pedro JP from Crown legacy as a defender. Where are we now with transfer rumours? And that's what I think been. The most frustrating thing as a fan is we're doing anything. Is anything happening? Are we gonna have people? We have a ton of roster slots that are open. It it really seems like, especially if Camilla is gone. So it seems like what five might be open. That's that's a lot. I don't

 Bridget

 17:25

know, because if you add in the ones where we, we made Pedro and I don't say maybe there's not as many.

 Kara

 17:34

It's highly unlikely that they are on senior slots

 Bridget

 17:38

bro. So we get extra senior slots too. Well

 Kara

 17:40

we have 20, so there are 20 senior spots I would assume if they're coming up from Crown Legacy, they are not on a senior spot. I'm assuming that they are a supplemental spot. Now. That's also we could have promoted anyone who was on a supplemental slot last year to a senior slot, but that won't come out for another bit. But either way, not

 Bridget

 18:00

through. And they need to make sure they

 Kara

 18:02

you know, we lost. We lost gains. We lost Merom, we lost Derek Jones, we lost Naga says Naga, we lost Harry. And then the rumor is that, you know, Melo's gone. Haggart left and he was on a supplemental slot. Zendejas got officially sold on or terminated his contract. So that was like that's at least three supplemental slots.

 Bridget

 18:28

And as Lars was gone last year right.

 Kara

 18:30

Yeah. We still had yarn at the end of the year and he was on a senior slot. So the guys on a senior slot, it seems like John Gaines, Jones, Miriam Cienega and Melo are all on senior slots now. Melo is not officially gone yet, but that's the rumor and we haven't been able to see him at preseason either. So he's had a rough go of it. That where we really he got put back down to Crown Legacy last year and it was kind of a difficult time, whether because of the coach or not, but it just seems like he's not in the plans for Charlotte FC this year. 1s But either way, that's like 5 or 6 slots, and that's not even counting. 1s We need some bodies.

 Bridget

 19:13

We're just building the guys that

 Kara

 19:14

have. Yes. I watched Inter Miami play last week, and one of the announcers said that, you know, they're looking at 60 games. That's a lot. That's a lot. That's what I'm saying. When do I play

 Bridget

 19:26

 60 games. Well

 Kara

 19:28

with all of our tournaments and stuff. And then like them appearing in Concacaf Champions League or whatever. And not only that, but we have the current legislation with the US Open Cup that MLS is going to have to participate, that we're we're waiting on something to come back down where they said they, you know, they were not going to and US soccer was like, yeah, no, you're going to. So there's still kind of that up in the air. Will we have to do that? Because that adds so much. I felt like last year that it was just a lot on the guys legs. It was a lot of injuries that happened, especially for us and if you keep adding more games like it was last year with the Leagues Cup, the extra playoff games, it just it just amounts to quite a bit of action and I just don't feel like they're adding that in back to the rosters. They're not. Increasing the men we can get essentially the roster slots. The gam tam. Thank you, ma'am. Money somewhere. And that's just frustrating to me because I just want to see them be healthy and and be successful. And it just seems like that is just too

 Bridget

 20:41

hard. I mean, I guess I'm used to seeing like the Premier League and all that do all, all those games. So but that is a lot. 60 is a ton but

 Kara

 20:49

they have astronomically amount more money. Well I think the area where most lacking right now pretty obviously is wingers. Camille usually is a winger. But again, maybe he's not here. But you got Vargas right. Vargas and Cambridge. But

 Bridget

 21:06

we did get rid of maroon. But then you got Brett. Bright gets paid a lot

 Kara

 21:10

of money. He is but he's technically a midfielder. He just he can play. We've seen him play winger

 Bridget

 21:17

that's all we got him as a rival or whatever. We

 Kara

 21:20

 pace. Midfielder oh

 Bridget

 21:22

good. Good. We got all the midfielders we could ever want. How is that. Why didn't you just say we needed more. We don't need any more midfielders. We got Brett, we got Scottie, we got Bender, we got Westwood. Yeah. Bronco.

 Kara

 21:34

We do need midfielders because we lost Derek Jones. Chris Haggart was on a midfielder slot. You got it. You got Bronco. You got Bender. Westwood outfield

 Bridget

 21:46

wrecked. And then don't they consider Carroll a midfielder. No

 Kara

 21:50

 Carroll's a forward.

 Bridget

 21:51

Well put him as a midfielder. So I just got

 Kara

 21:54

used to it. Privett was classified as midfielder and defender. It just kind of how does the new coach see him. But you know we also don't know of the guys who are currently here. How many of them are either going to be on supplemental slots or put back down to Crown Legacy which. You know, they lost a lot of people. And I think there's some of them that were hoping to bring up some more. So again, like we said, Petkovic still remaining an unknown, I don't know what's

 Bridget

 22:23

he doing right now. What is the traffic doing right now? Is he practicing with

 Kara

 22:26

them? That's a good question. No idea, because

 Bridget

 22:28

someone said that we had to get a deep spot for him. But like, if we gotta get a deep spot for him and he ain't just chilling on his couch right now, right?

 Kara

 22:37

 This is a mystery.

 Bridget

 22:38

Like, is he still on the Legacy Squad?

 Kara

 22:40

Yes, he's still on the Legacy Squad, I think. But he might have been alone. I don't know, I don't have that note. I

 Bridget

 22:46

don't see him in all the photos either. We were

 Kara

 22:49

bound to find things we had no clue. And things. Well, there's

 Bridget

 22:52

a lot that I have no clue about. Thank God for Kara. You know what I

 Kara

 22:55

mean? Well, and it also remains to be seen. What about our new draftees? Where will they fall in as possibilities? Like, I was assuming that they would stay on Crown Legacy with maybe the exception of Tiger. But again, to me, you don't just throw somebody into the first team they're currently trialing right now, I'm assuming, and there's also a special clause or something this year where they could have what was it, sophomores, juniors like. You didn't have to be ready to play, but you could like stay in the pipeline and be in the draft and still like playing college. Which seemed different. And one of our guys was in that one. There's a lot of unknowns about this roster. And that's worrisome because we have we need a solid senior roster especially. We've got some supplemental slots. We know we do. But with a month to go until the first game, we're all on pins and needles. Everybody wants some action. If anyone has a recent publication by Caleb of Charlotte FC, he had the opportunity to talk to Thomas, calling the Director of scouting, where, you know, they do talk to a lot of people. They have different levels in the pipeline. And so at any one point, if they're looking at, say, a winger, they're talking to at least five players and in talks with them and as possibilities. And then under that they have more identified. The question is are they international because we've got a week and a half a window of that and we've not been a club that has looked very much at MLS people and that is coming. You know, there's been a lot of clubs who've made moves and we haven't been one of them. I think us in Toronto or something like that or like the last two left. And this time last year we had Enzo, we had Westwood. So everyone is dying for Charlotte FC to make some actual moves

 Bridget

 24:59

or I would like them to do something, but I'm reserve to think that they have it figured out. I guess that they know more than I know.

 Kara

 25:07

Oh sure, you say that now.

 Bridget

 25:10

Well, I will probably say that they know more, but I'm going to say I know more, you know, because that's what I like to do.

 Kara

 25:17

And the other the other unknown is Will Caruso and Tui Loma get their second chance under Coach Smith?

 Bridget

 25:26

I'm a bad taste in my mouth about Bill. Oh, Bill, I really hope you're better. Than what? When I think. I think of you, 1s I really just. If we got rid of Bill in care. But, I mean, people are saying he's really good. And I even think Danny was. I don't even know if he's messing with me with a shocker. So I don't know if he's messing with me or what, but he said he thought that he might start, like, if Bill stars. I don't know what I'm going to do in life, and my anxiety at that first game set me all over the place. Bill's going to get to start at me. Why don't

 Kara

 25:57

you? Oh my God. I mean, I mean,

 Bridget

 26:00

maybe he'll be good and maybe he'll be my new day man. No, no, Nathan, man. Maybe

 Kara

 26:04

I doubt it. We'll have to see. That's the hope. There we go. We'll bill. He scores a goal on the right. Go! I'll get a tumor. Jersey. It's got to be on the right one. It can't be in our home, though. 2s He's not going to. Please do that. I don't want him get on my money. Well with that you know, we have less than a month to go before our game against New York City. You know what I am excited about, though? One of the things that I'm excited about mostly seeing is I want Brecht to get more settled time, you know, because he didn't have the greatest end of the year. And yet

 Bridget

 26:39

I yeah, like I said, both of them, because we

 Kara

 26:41

got to see him for like eight games and he was like super solid the way that man shut out messy, I'm so proud of. And then

 Bridget

 26:48

when he played for his own team and he played really well for them too. And so I thought that was pretty neat. And he's so had like, I guess it makes a big deal to me. But seeing these photos like, yeah, they look so happy to be there. He's like so excited to be playing for us. And he's I just like that about people when they're wanting to grind and wanting to work hard and they're excited to play. And then if we're paying somebody that much money, I'm going to need to see it. It's going to need to see it. So I'm expecting him to come out and be like, oh, way better than Westwood. So he's got a lot to do, a lot to live up to. For me,

 Kara

 27:22

again, there's always an adjustment period. Even Westwood had six months of an adjustment period ish, you know, because he had that injury and was coming back from it. But yeah, I think it's time for Breck to, you know, get his legs underneath him and make some things happen. And I'm sure he feels the same way. Oh yeah. Like he feels like he didn't live up to it. So I

was making what he makes. I mean, living up to it too, you know what I'm saying? He's really. But I'm just saying for his, for the thing about, like, playing, he's got to be doing well to make that money. So I would feel good about my career if I was at that point where I can make that much money doing what I have to do. I hope he goes. I think he'll be great. I think that one spider monkey kick we saw him do was pretty awesome. So if he has more of that in him, it'll be great.

 Kara

 28:08

Scorpion. Scorpion I think 2s it's not rocket spider hockey. We're just gonna have fun animals this year. Maybe Bill can do the sea lion. 1s Uh

 Bridget

 28:21

oh. This is going to be a good time. I'm excited. I'm excited about this attacking method that we're going to do. I'm expecting us to go out there and make a bunch of goals. Like a bunch of goals. That's what we want. We want to go that first, first, first game. Let's let's oh, more than one, two or 3 or 4. I'll take as many as needed. Not I mean for us, not them and no own goals. Quit jinxing us. Be. We'll coming up, though. I'm sure they'll be going to release a kit soon. I mean, we have a month before the season start, so I believe they'll release a kit coming up, hopefully as a blue as we need it. If we're blue and black and we ain't got a blue kit with the kind of ridiculousness, I'm hoping it's more Carolina Blue. So that would go with Dane Smith thing, but a lot of people might like that

 Kara

 29:01

idea. We're not just changing random blues. Oh my gosh, you know,

 Bridget

 29:06

it's just a little blue or means Carolina blue. But anyways, is there anything else you need to talk about before we wrap this up? It was going to be a quick one today.

 Kara

 29:14

Let's wrap it up. Welcome to to season two. We thank you for listening to us and

 Bridget

 29:21

look forward. We have some cool episodes coming out where we talk to the ladies of the supporters group presidents. And that should be coming up real saying. So we have lots of stuff in the works before Karen pops out a child.

 Kara

 29:34

That's the hope. So if you all have, you know, say a quick prayer for me as I look forward to expanding my family. And but hopefully, you know, we can get back to soccer here soon. I know she's going to be at me. 3s She's not going to give me a maternity leave because we're going to be like, let's talk soccer now.

 Bridget

 29:54

And I'm already have people saying they'll they'll they'll guest spot you if I need it, if I need it. But, you know, I tell them that if that's the case, it's going to be a problem because I do not watch the games like Harry does. I watch the shoes. So

 Kara

 30:07

and it doesn't help that my husband does the the editing. So. Right. A team effort over here. So you better pray that somebody gets some sleep in this house. They will, we will. But yes. So we're excited for the 2024 season. We've got hope. We've got some things to improve on and hopefully in the next month we have some more dominoes falling

 Bridget

 30:31

before the season starts. We'll we'll give us some predictions. We want to see what the preseason has among us before we decide

 Kara

 30:38

what that really shows, I guess

 Bridget

 30:39

is. But I think this year we should definitely before the season starts, we should give our preseason predictions. And then that way at the end of the season, at the end of the season, you and I can come back and see which one of us was

 Kara

 30:51

closest. You mean the season predictions?

 Bridget

 30:53

Yeah, not the preseason. The season? Yes. You know what I mean. Before the season.

 Kara

 30:57

Yeah. I definitely want to talk about our starting 11. But we need to see who else shows up. Right. And it seems like Marin will definitely not be there. And that's that's sad for me. So we really

 Bridget

 31:08

liked him. At least you can get his name on his jersey. So you're you're okay.

 Kara

 31:12

I got Carol's and Carol's still here so far, no I know,

 Bridget

 31:16

hey. And, you know, so far he's staying. And that means we don't have to change our music at the intro. So. Because if it does, we don't know where we're going.

 Kara

 31:25

Yeah, we've gotta cheer for somebody else. But thank you for listening. We hope you have a great January. And let's go Charlotte FC.

 Bridget

 31:33

 Until next time, stay safe.

 Kara

 31:36

 Bye bye bye.
