In every culture, the overwhelming majority of parents (77% in the United States) think that a student’s lowest grades deserve the most time and attention. We don’t need to ignore an F of course but don’t put all of your eggs in that basket!  Parents and teachers reward excellence with apathy instead of investing more time in the areas where a child has the most potential for greatness.

The reality is that a person who has always struggled with numbers is unlikely to be a great accountant or statistician. Quit beating yourself up for what you are not, stop comparing yourselves to others or wearing yourself out trying to be the extrovert people person or the ultimate craft person or the organizing spreadsheet guru, if that’s not what God has gifted you to be!
You don’t need to be a well rounded person, you need a well rounded team.

The key to human development is building on who you already are.
We all called serve God’s Kingdom purpose, but we serve it in different ways just as each body part serves the body in different ways.
So this might be a more accurate saying might be, “You cannot be anything you want to be” — but you can be a lot more of who you already are.

This is a revolution in our thinking and our approach to so many things. This is one of the reasons why over 15 million people have taken the  StrengthsFinder assessment. It measures the elements of your personality that are less likely to change — your talents.

In Gallup's research into human potential over the past 30 years - including interviews with more than 2 million people - the evidence is overwhelming: You will be most successful in whatever you do by building your life around your greatest natural abilities rather than your weaknesses. Your talents should be your primary focus!
The problem is that most people don't even know what their greatest talents are or how to go about discovering ing them.

Even the church is impacted by this revelation. A recent national study by Gallup revealed that most people (53%) do NOT strongly agree with the statement "In my congregation, I regularly have the opportunity to do what I do best." Clearly, too many individuals' talents and strengths are going unrecognized and unappreciated. And this adds up to an enormous loss of human potential that could be tapped for the transformation of society.
