This is not a fall. It’s an initiation.
Makhosi: [00:00:00] I scaled a seven figure business, but at the peak of my success, I was more disconnected, exhausted, and misaligned than I ever felt before. So I did something that most people would call crazy. I burn it down.
In our conversation today, I'm gonna dive into my real life experience with the collapsing of my own identity and what's shifted since then.
In this conversation, we're gonna be diving into the moment I stopped scaling and started listening to my soul. Now I wanna give you some context as to why I felt this conversation needed to be had. [00:01:00] It's because quietly behind the scenes. I have been witness to and been a part of so many incredible successful founders struggling behind the scenes.
There's a lot that we don't talk about as it relates to success because a lot of people think that once you have all of the success that everyone tells you will make you happy That. You feel there's something wrong with you if for some reason you don't feel fulfilled? In my own experience in the evolution of the Royal Shaman, I've gone through this a few times.
My first time experiencing this was about a decade ago when I [00:02:00] left Pure Romance. Shout out when I left my direct sales company and I experienced it again. It's been a little over a year, so I think it's important to understand that on paper I had. The income, the clients, the launches, like everything that everyone tells you need to chase.
And despite all of that, something seriously felt off.
Now, although I'm saying that this really occurred about a year ago, I can actually point back to. The beginning of this transformation, [00:03:00] which really was catalyzed when in 2020 and 2021, I became to be really known more publicly. Before this, I was working behind the scenes supporting founders and. I ended up getting a lot of momentum and publicity and was being featured in really big spaces like Success Magazine and Entrepreneur, and basically all of the major media as, as well as the doctors I was being sought after by celebrity clientele seven and eight figure leaders.
And also my following grew quite a bit. Now I am by no means an influencer, but there was a lot of growth really fast. And [00:04:00] when I got a lot of publicity, I noticed inside myself after reading a lot of comments about how number one, I couldn't be spiritual and be. Wealthy or that I was being elitist because I was only working with high level founders and that I, we don't need to go into all of the things, but it triggered a lot of fear in me of how I felt that I was being perceived or.
Or judged and even knowing where a lot of that was coming from, because when you start to understand systemic patterns and power dynamics, I recognized in some of the things that people were saying that there was a lot of struggle for people to see. Someone like me who [00:05:00] a young black woman. Who was doing well without, struggling, without like slaving away.
And I knew this because I did something stupid. And then I went and compared myself to the other articles that were similarly written and the comments were nothing like that. It just is what it is. There's a lot of
there's a lot of systemic racism, bias, et cetera, that tells us that women should not be successful to a certain degree. Women making seven figures, eight figures, whatever is bad, somehow gotta be a bad mom if you're doing that. Or your partner must be de demasculated if you're making a lot of money.
And also, of [00:06:00] course there are, there's racial history that many people still unknowingly hold this perspective that just. Black people in general, or people of color as well should not hold wealth. I see it. I follow Jackie Ina and oh my gosh, her comments.
Makhosi: Anyhow, so I'm always a person who has felt like it's important for people to have access to.
Knowledge to evolution. And so I set about trying to see if I could create more accessible pathways that worked. And so for a few years I spent a ton of money. I'm talking hundreds of thousands of dollars [00:07:00] and oh my gosh, hiring the coaches and building the funnels and. Marketing and launching tons of different offers, trying to go as low ticket as I possibly could to make things accessible.
And the lower that I went, the more challenging things were. Now, this is not to say that this is gonna be your story. This is not the point of don't go low ticket. My point of this conversation is that we need to recognize. Where we are aligned and where we are misaligned. I started to recognize that I was misaligned.
I started to recognize that I was feeling misaligned because there was, I. In [00:08:00] certain spaces and with certain clients, I found myself constantly feeling a need to overgive and to people please and try to do and create all of the things to make people happy. And in that their. It never worked. It literally never worked.
And so I was blessed to have this dual experience because I still had my high level clientele who are, mostly behind the scenes. And I keep them more private simultaneously while I am trying to scale these more accessible offers. In my higher proximity spaces, these clients are literally activated by our co-creation.
They are creating amazing things, and they're giving me the [00:09:00] feedback of just glowing reviews on saying things like. I've worked with a gazillion coaches, but you're like the 1e-05% who really sees me? I've had others say, oh my gosh, you're like the shamanic Steve Jobs for my ability to bridge both the energetic and the strategic at a very high level.
And those clients felt so light and there was so much flow where on the other hand, I was feeling this weight.
And a lot of people don't talk about the toll that it takes on you when you are holding on to a business model, to a brand, to a clientele that is no longer aligned for you, [00:10:00] that you've graduated and evolved. And now it's time for you to serve in a different way. It becomes exhausting and you feel like you have to prove more and more your worth, your value.
What I didn't. Recognize at first and, but what I ultimately ended up discovering, because really at the root so much is identity. There was a part of me that was still holding on to the version of myself who wanted to be seen as the nice girl who wanted to, who wanted to people please and make people happy with her and make people like her.
The version of [00:11:00] me,
the version of me who didn't wanna rock the boat too much or who didn't want to be perceived or judged as being elitist. It was that identity that was keeping me from really claiming the mastery that I was demonstrating with this group of clients and trying to get other clients to see my value.
So in 2023, in the fall of 2023, I had one of my biggest launches [00:12:00] ever. We had a few thousand people join. It was a massive launch, and in the middle of delivering in that launch I had. An absolutely insane experience with some scammers, some people who tried to scam me, they almost did it.
Alright. Long story short, with that, they ended up getting access to. My computer and I would get on my computer and they were accessing it remotely from another country, and they would pull up the notepad and they would be like trying to message me and talk to me on my own computer. And it freaked me out completely and I ended up having to get a new computer and all sorts of things came about during this launch right in the middle of it.
And I spent quite a bit of time exploring if maybe this was, I had hit an upper limit with the number of [00:13:00] people who came in. Totally possible. Totally valid, except that number one, I recognized that the offer did not convert in the way that it really could have. That was the first sign to me. But also then once I got into this work.
It also,
once I really got into this work, even though I really enjoyed the process, I always really enjoyed teaching. What I recognized was that I was not being stretched. I was not, I. In my highest potential, the greatest genius was not coming out of me. This [00:14:00] genius that I knew was coming out in other spaces with certain clientele, and so a little over a year ago, I decided to let most of that go and just release it.
It was funny because many of my, many of the clients who were working with me at that time also felt like this chapter had ended and it was a beautiful just releasing. And I have been working behind the scenes, continuing my work with very few clients and. What I discovered in this process was that this was not just about business.
This was not just about the model. This was not just about creating a new offer or a new [00:15:00] funnel to make it better, because over the last year, I tried so many pathways. It wasn't until I really dug deep at an identity level I. And began to recognize that there was a version of me that was ready to be released and then did the energetic restructuring and recalibrating internally that then I could see clearly the pathway forward.
I could see more clearly who I am best suited to. Activate in this next unfolding, I was able to see very clearly the simple business model and business structure that would effortlessly carry my ideal clients, my[00:16:00]
soulmate clients, through their entire journey from. Identity collapse, identity loss to ultimately restructuring and rebuilding an aligned legacy. And that work has been beautiful. I can't say that it's been the easiest, truthfully this work. There's a reason why not many people do it. There's a part of you that does have to grieve, right grieve for this version of you that no longer is, and we spend a lot of time like looking back and reminiscing about the way that things were and that holds us back.

So the truth that no one really talks about is that success is not the end. Success is the beginning if you allow it to be and I. That disconnect that you start to feel between what you have built and what your soul is calling for you to do only grows. It only gets louder. I have firsthand seen people spend years avoiding the process, scared that they're going to lose it all.
And what I can tell you is that. The sooner that you listen to that, the,
the more easily the transition, the reinvention can happen, the more that [00:18:00] you just surrender to the process and allow yourself to come into alignment. It is so much more expansive than. Brutal when we stop fighting the flow that's trying to come through.
The truth is that throwing another funnel, scaling another offer without doing the inner recalibration. Will simply mean that you are scaling something that is already misaligned. So if it feels heavy now when you scale it, it will feel 3, 4, 10 times heavier unless you align first, [00:19:00] unless you are.
Unless you are building something that matches your soul, this is really what sovereignty is all about. It is about letting go of performance and who you think you should be and what people want you to be, and what the market expects from you, and instead aligning and attuning. To who you truly are, what your real genius and calling and legacy is in this life.
What I had to really embrace and get past also was my own judgment about what I thought. [00:20:00] People should care about what I thought people's priorities should be. And once I got out of the judgment of the idea that, hey, I recognized I was trying to save people the hassle of building success or exiting their company and coming to the realization of, oh my gosh, I built something that was.
Not aligned to my true self. I thought, oh, I'll just save people the hassle and they can skip all this ugly part. I can just save them from this challenging part.
And I hope that through sharing my story with you today, that you do take that. Also simultaneously, I had to recognize and realize that the people at [00:21:00] this moment in time that I am best suited to serve, to activate, to mirror are those founders who have created extraordinary success, their post success, or maybe post exit.
And know that it's time for that reinvention, that's when this work really becomes the highest priority for you. This doesn't mean that I don't support those who are, scaling from a million to 3 million and want it to be from a more aligned place that still works. However it means that. Now the way that I'm structuring things is to, with the goal, to share some of these hidden lessons, these hidden experiences [00:22:00] that those of us who are highly ambitious that we are experiencing, that no one really knows about, that you can learn from that and on your journey.
Not have to experience,
experience the collapse to the same degree that some of us have had to experience it.
I really now understand is. This was an initiation into an [00:23:00] entirely new realm of leadership and that this was not a fall, but a frequency realignment. And I do know that more and more this is going to be happening because so many of us have our identities wrapped up in systems that were never meant to serve us.
Women were never meant in this system. To succeed to the level that we have. Those of us who grew up in poor backgrounds and were able to escape that were never meant to succeed to the heights that you have succeeded. So why would it make sense to continue holding on to ways of thought and ways of being.
That were actually designed to keep you from your greatness.[00:24:00]
