"No one believes that they're the villain....I believe everybody can be redeemed." -Melat Kiros

This week, Dai and David are joined by a favorite returning guest, Melat Kiros.  Melat is running for Congress in Colorado's First Congressional District against a 30-year incumbent, and she has a high likelihood of winning the seat.  Melat won almost two to one (63% to 32%) against Diana DeGette at Denver's County Assembly in March 2026.  In this episode, we discuss Love Island, the health insurance marketplace, media control, the Equality Act, the attack ads that DeGette has launched against her, running a huge field operation, not accepting PAC money, restorative justice, holding Trump accountable, America's 250th Birthday, Colorado's Democratic state-wide primary elections, and so much more!  We are releasing this episode early because of the upcoming election.

Get your ballot in before 7 PM MT on Tuesday, June 30th!  Learn more about the upcoming primary election on the Denver Clerk and Recorder's website.

Listen to our previous episode, Call Me Congresswoman with Melat Kiros, that we recorded back in December 2025.
