We even met the Tourism Minister. We interviewed him and he was like hey, watch out, carstau is coming after you guys With the service and everything.
Speaker 2:I must say we have the best burger in the Caribbean Burger House. Wow, wow.
Speaker 1:How do you like my burger? I can't find the right word.
Speaker 2:I don't like it you can start please? It's like papiamento, papi how is your vibe.
Speaker 3:How did it even come about?
Speaker 2:Your beautification is amazing. You're right in the middle of the house, you're close to the moon, you have the drive and the support initiative, the time you're in the sea is really beautiful.
Speaker 1:If you like it, you'll have a party. Let's celebrate a little. It's amazing.
Speaker 3:Let me just say this in English If you've ever came to Curacao and you had a bad experience because the people were not as friendly or they weren't as nice, you should come back now and experience it because a lot has changed Back in the day. Sorry, but in Curacao it was an attitude.
Speaker 1:Yes, but in Curacao it was an attitude that's right. I see you and the other your favorite melanated homosexual babies her. I just love watching the people's reaction. I don't know, I don't know what kind of episode it is. I don't know. I don't know what kind of episode it is, I don't know what kind of guest and I don't know what kind of guest. I don't know what kind of guest, I don't know what kind of guest. You can support us in this way, so we have. Muriat, muriat, muriat, sorry.
Speaker 3:I'm going to say my name in a different way.
Speaker 1:I mean, I know how to pronounce it Muriat, exactly. Okay, we're going to say Muriat, director of CTB, as you know. Good day, good day, I don't know how you're doing. Welcome to the show.
Speaker 2:Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks for having me.
Speaker 1:No, man awesome.
Speaker 2:Great, I'm happy to be here. I'm happy to be at home, to my numbers.
Speaker 3:Let's go Great, just sitting around the house. The numbers have been doing great. The numbers have been doing pretty great, pretty great, pretty great, awesome, thank you, thank you thank you.
Speaker 2:No great, I'm happy. Let's make it a great show. Oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure. Oh for sure, oh for sure.
Speaker 1:Oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure, oh for sure. We are not touristy, but we have a diversification.
Speaker 2:We do not do so many things in the course. We experience so many things in the course, with the note that is taken out. As people who live here, they tend to easily fall into their daily routine. You know they're going to work, they're going to school, whatever. But if you just stay for a while, think from the point of view of what a tourist is doing. So you go to the beach, you go out, work five o'clock in the afternoon, right. Go to the beach club, sit down, relax, right. That's true. I like what you're saying Chill, drink with your family, eat with your family and still go home, and still go home. If you're not home, you still go home, you still have time to do the family thing and all of that Correct. So this is what I like about the course you have a variation of what you can eat.
Speaker 1:I don't know if you know it's a variation of what we eat. I'm not sure if you've heard of it, but we're in a restaurant. We're in a restaurant. We're in a restaurant. We're in a restaurant. Where did we go yesterday? Talkboat Beach, yeah, I think. So we were walking around. The guy walked up to us. Hey, what are you doing? Hey, you're in Talkboat Beach. We were walking around the place. He was talking to us and he's like hey, it's like a blackboard beach, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like and he's like, and he's like and he's like and he's like and he's yeah, exactly, this is the diversification of the boat, so don't worry, they have a small boat a small boat, a small boat, a small boat.
Speaker 1:A more natural, yeah, a more natural.
Speaker 2:Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay okay okay okay, okay, beaches and everything, but it's a full nature area. It's also detached from the busyness of the air. It's city life. Touring is not easy for us. Our course has an easy tendency to have a weekend with a band. A weekend with a band, a family that's not there.
Speaker 1:But if you have a band, you can have a bandabou, we can put a bandabou, we can put a bandabou Even just.
Speaker 2:But it depends on the job. If you work half an hour, you can only work half an hour, but you can also enjoy a ride Exactly Put a bandabou with friends, family, girlfriends, boyfriends, whatever. A ride with a bandabou and that's it boat to make it great.
Speaker 1:Go ahead, you want to say something?
Speaker 3:no, I was going to add because I was married. I was with Nicolas and we had this tendency that he was too young, but we didn't necessarily think about it because Nicolas was like thank you, thank you thank you thank you, thank you. I can just imagine everybody else.
Speaker 2:I was able to get a full 30 kilos of meat.
Speaker 3:So you were able to get a full 30 kilos of meat.
Speaker 1:It must have been over packed, yes, it was a Sunday.
Speaker 2:It's a tradition. You can't go on a Sunday, you have to camp on weekends. A weekend, but we build like an area. A area, it's a place, a local place. It's a place during the weekend, but during the weekend it's a place. During the weekend, tourists are there, but as a local, it's a lot of people trust me, but during the weekend there are tourists and there are locals in a way it's a different thing.
Speaker 1:I'm going to go to some other beach. Right, I have another one. I'm going to go to some other beach. I have a question. I'm looking at the nature. I'm going to Google Maps. I'm going to look for a green one. I'm going to look for a kayak. I'm going to look for an old kayak. I'm going to look for a condo. I'm going to look for a visor. I'm going to look for three towers Super nice view, but you have something in place to protect the nature, and the band, and the band. So you have a plan. You have a secret. You have a secret in San Nicolas. So you have a plan either you develop the band or you have a plan to protect the area.
Speaker 3:As I said, tourism is still a good hobby, but I want to do it in a sustainable way.
Speaker 2:I want to have natural resources as a hobby, but now. I want to do it with tourism development. We know that there are places in the world that are basically off-tourism. Some destinations are off-tourism. It's overcrowded too much. We're not at the moment where it's important for our tourist growth. We can still make adjustments, so we're just yes, we're just in the first place of the US.
Speaker 2:So our sorrow yes, so our sorrow in the first place is the Yucca Shoal. So we don't know. So we live here 365 days a year and tourists come here on average eight days to enjoy what we enjoy every day. So what do we have to sorrow about? We have to sorrow, so we don't know. We live in the mountains, we live in the islands Correct in the future. So we're not basically doing something, we're not basically carrying capacity to know how we're going to grow, how we're going to grow, what we're going to do as an island to grow permanently so that there's a harmony between the tourists and the locals that are in it, because, at the end of the day, tourists like the locals.
Speaker 3:They're based on all research we are local local local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local local local local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local, local local local, a local experience.
Speaker 1:um, it doesn't feel like but from scratch, and that's just the design of it authentic 100%.
Speaker 2:Architecture, old buildings, monuments and all of that. Tourists are sharp. What we do at our hotels is always our European flair. If you look at ABC's St Martin, we are only from the Dutch kingdom, so we have a European flair. Corso has a lot more than other islands, so people have a European vibe that they bring to the table. If you look at our tourists to the table, if we have tourists and a lot of tourists, that we have in the Netherlands we want to shape us as a country.
Speaker 2:The last 35 years here with the predominant Dutch, still our biggest market and we are good at entertaining the Dutch. So if we have all that European flair that we bring to the table. It's different from the Caribbean islands, it's unique. If you see a beautiful restaurant or a beautiful art gallery, you see the murals, the porous shadows, the face of the island. That adds to the charm of the island.
Speaker 1:It adds to the charm of the island. Always talked about this like maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe maybe, maybe maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe. Sure can add more to it because it's really down to the history. It's really vocal about the whole slavery thing back in the day. I don't know if you want to add anything to it.
Speaker 3:I don't know if you want to add anything to it. I don't know if you want to add anything to it. I don't know if you want to add anything to it. I don't know if you want to add anything to it. I don't know if you want to add anything to it. I don't know if you want. Everybody is aware and everybody is on the same, and a person who is an adult is also a full-time employee. Everybody is aware and everybody is on the same tune, of exactly what our culture is and exactly what our history is, and this is how we move as an island, and I love it. I want to say I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it. I hope his story will help Me neither.
Speaker 2:No, I want to say we did an exercise last year. Last year we did World Tourism Day, september 23rd. But I want to say, looking at how our base is growing, we decided, ok, well, let's get back to our people and ask them how do you see tourist growth? So we have a National Tourism. We have five mini-conferences and during the mini-conferences we invite each. We have a subject authenticity, diversity, everything. So we have a subject. So we invite focus groups, invite people in the community to discuss over subjects. So what we want to do is at conferences.
Speaker 2:We will finish the conference on September 26th, world Tourism Day, with clear resolutions. We want to do something that is super important for us to maintain our authenticity, our culture, our way of living. Everything that we do in the United Nations, like the UK, has prevailed across the board in our conferences. There is something we have to maintain, and part A is extremely important. We have resolutions that we have to make, resolutions as the Portamia Tourism Office, as the government, for us to maintain the uniqueness of our island, because at the end of the day, we don't know if we can make it. If we can make it, what can we do? A lot of construction going on um new hotels are being built.
Speaker 1:Uh nice, pero it's it's keeping the culture still exactly, exactly, exactly Correct. Yeah, you don't need that.
Speaker 3:Speaking of tourism, let's talk numbers. So 2024 was an extremely great year for you. You hit a new milestone, a new mark. Yes, 700,000.
Speaker 2:700,000 tourists Exactly.
Speaker 3:Damn, it's like that's a right expression.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes, yes. We are looking at extremely great growth from all the markets 700,000 tourists. We reached 2024. A new milestone extremely great growth from all the markets 700,000 tourists reached us in 2024. It's a new milestone. I'm not sure if you can see it, but we had 73,000 tourists in December. That's a lot of months for us, so we're extremely happy with that. So I know that as a tourism office, we're not only a business but we're also working with everybody from the sector. We, as a tourist board, we are promoting, but at the end of the day, we are giving to the hotel sector, restaurant sector, activity sector to contribute to make it happen. So that number was like really, really great to hear what was your reaction?
Speaker 1:like, oh shit, my curse is going to be on the screen?
Speaker 2:no, no, no, no targets. What was your reaction?
Speaker 1:Oh shit, I'm not cursing you, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 2:No, no, no, no, no, no, no no no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. 2023 is really really good. 2023 actually surpassed the half million mark, so it never surpassed half a million tourists wait 2025.
Speaker 1:So you're saying a big increase, like two years ago of about half a million. To now it's over 100,000. Exactly that's a big increase it's not the biggest, it's 100,000 per year, but the trajectory our city 2023 with 582,000 tourists.
Speaker 2:But I know, but the trajectory it's like wow, yeah, good, okay, so make our calculations, put our target 670,000, great. So we were like damn, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go. Get that much and we can't reach targets. But we can't surprise. So I don't know if I can adjust expectations and get to 690, 690, 95, but the second half of the year it's less traveling.
Speaker 3:September month, slower month the slowest you have all of those factors. December is where exponential you start back.
Speaker 2:Take a look at the numbers. Every single day.
Speaker 1:I thought I heard I don't look at the numbers. What do you mean? Look at the numbers.
Speaker 2:You have numbers every single day, every single day at some point I open the dashboard and I'm like, wow, no-transcript.
Speaker 1:We're getting close. We're getting close. 250, 250, what does?
Speaker 3:that mean for the island in general.
Speaker 2:It's everybody's contribution exactly, and that's what we're doing.
Speaker 1:The first thing is to say thank you to our colleagues, because we love your work, our work in the office of tourism. You're not just talking to the team, you're talking to the people, exactly and if you're like, hey, I'm going to fix it, I'm going to put the cake in the room.
Speaker 2:We're on vacation we'll be back and then we'll go Exactly, exactly, put their heart and their shoulders in tourism. It's the government. The government is the one that facilitates our financing to do our work, but not only that. It also contributes to the construction of facilities, facilitate permits, building permits Typical things that happen. But there are other stakeholders at the airport. At the airport, we're growing fast, so we're making adjustments and so many stakeholders are there At the end, which is the most important one we're makes that experience so unique, so great, make it happen. Um, you could show, you could do it directly in tourism without having to do it in tourism you can do it directly in front office, but you can do it directly in.
Speaker 2:But if you're going to be directly waiter, bartenders, cooks and all of that front office but if you're going to be indirectly in tourism, maybe you're not going to be there. But if you're going to be there, you're not going to be there. So, of course, if you're going to be there, you're going to be there.
Speaker 1:If you're a tourist.
Speaker 2:You're going to be there, you know You're exactly. So a big thanks and shout out to our tour to make it happen, not the tour of the thing, the world of the tourism industry, but us 55 million here in Curaçao. We make it happen for ourselves, but we make it happen also for the visitors let me just say something, here you go.
Speaker 1:I'm going to end a little not the tour of the people.
Speaker 3:Or let me just say something. Here you go. Let me just say this in English If you've ever came to Curacao and you had a bad experience Because the people were not as friendly or they weren't as nice, you should come back. Because a lot has changed, you should come back now and experience it Because a lot has changed.
Speaker 3:Back in the day, sorry, but being in Curacao, it was an attitude and I didn. In the day sorry, but it was an attitude with and it didn't have a vibe of being back, but when I was listening to it, everyone was on the same page Facts. You're doing such a great job with involving the people. You're not just making decisions on your own. You're saying, hey, you know what, let me involve the public. You own. You're saying, hey, you know what, let me involve the public. So y'all play a vivid role. The attitudes changed.
Speaker 2:People are way more service oriented, exactly in the last few years yes, in the last few years. I think the main industries in Curaçao last few years. We didn't need it.
Speaker 1:We had it, we needed it, but they didn't really capitalize on it. They saw the opportunity, but how are we going to make this grow into a bigger market? But the locals didn't really capitalize on it, like in terms of like they saw the opportunity, but how are we going to make this grow into a bigger market, but the locals didn't need it at that point.
Speaker 3:Exactly what he was saying is true, because I'm a.
Speaker 1:I remember vividly like I was, like I was like 19 or something. I came here back in the day for an event and we had a card. The second you wrote the I just remember the lady like good morning, like morning, like what's up? Okay, that's where I had the last trip last April. That's where everything changed. I was like yo, what the fuck? Like super nice, and I was like 10 points, no-transcript good morning.
Speaker 2:Good, but the last 10 years. When you look at growth in tourism, the importance of tourism, when you look at added value added value.
Speaker 2:That's what we want to create, yeah say to beta we are an organization, we want to add value to all the investors, to the community, to you know all those stakeholders. But when we are a service driven organization, we give service because we don't sell anything. We make sure everybody sells. The island is your product, exactly A teoria boqueta at value na product. And that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do, and that's what we do and yeah, when I walk chasing, when I sing a million, then I'll be beginning a show.
Speaker 2:Yes, economy to dry. But yo, you need that influx, the hand there. Until that influx, the end of the tricep, new opportunities, new ideas and stuff like that.
Speaker 1:That's the new concept new restaurants, new entertainment bars. Like new experiences in terms of like, maybe what's this little jet ski car?
Speaker 3:thingy. Yeah, that's going to start by the time it comes out. The company is live. I'm like oh shit that's already live.
Speaker 2:And I'm going to tell you that entrepreneurs get going in that entrepreneurial spirit and create new things. We're going to say I'm going to say it in Turkish and I'm going to say it in Yugoslavian and in Yugoslavian, we have things. You can show that. You can show that you have a great opportunity to create authentic experiences for visitors. You know that you have visitors visiting from Aruba. You can experience all those great things.
Speaker 1:I feel like we've experienced almost a lot. We're here for a lot of podcasting, but we're not experienced almost much. Yeah, we're here for it's a lot of podcasting, but as soon as we said like hey, we're coming back sooner than we thought, shame on you shame on you.
Speaker 2:Throw me under the bus, throw me under the bus alone.
Speaker 1:But no bro man, I have a schedule. But how I'm from Svetlana, I have a schedule. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy. I'm very happy.
Speaker 3:I'm very happy Back to numbers. So the biggest influx of tourism is Ulanda then. America and then Colombia. But Colombia, you gave it a dip this year, or 2024.
Speaker 1:It was like a very small like a 1%.
Speaker 2:1%, I believe yes. In other words, south America is booming. For us, colombia is in the third market, but the market in market is a little bit Brazil, brazil, brazil, brazil.
Speaker 1:Brazil, brazil, brazil, brazil, brazil, brazil, brazil.
Speaker 3:Brazil, brazil, brazil, brazil, brazil, brazil, brazil, brazil.
Speaker 1:Brazil, brazil, brazil.
Speaker 2:Brazil, brazil, brazil, they're loving it here, and then we're here with Augusto and we know the vibe here. It's European flair, but they like to party what they like to party Facts.
Speaker 3:They know Carnival. They know these things Don't play in Brazil.
Speaker 2:Exactly, man. They like to party and then we're looking. They like to party and the Brazilians are enjoying the island, and it was a target that was creeping up on third place. Yes, yes, yes, I'm good with Colombia, I'm really good with them. How long is the flight? As in Belo Horizonte, I'm going to announce the flight. It's going to be six hours.
Speaker 1:I was expecting a 10-hour flight for some reason. No, but it's not that.
Speaker 3:The other thing is that I was expecting like a 10 hour flight for some reason, but it's not the increase the increase the increase. The market is very much creeping up. Take it take it.
Speaker 1:I'm happy. I'm happy. Brazil is a speedy Brazil.
Speaker 2:I don't care but it's not like. It's not like. It's all about their experience and they share it immediately. They share it immediately. If a Brazilian goes to a Caribbean island for holidays, they want to go out and about. And they share it. It's like shadow time because it's like what's up a, a propaganda mass important within the word of mouth and these guys who own are sharing everything in brazil not even crazy.
Speaker 3:Exactly man influence a e look at me gusta from them is they bring a lot of foot traffic. They don't mind that we're going on a tour, correct?
Speaker 2:They put Brazilians in the supermarket and they don't know what to do. There are Brazilians in the supermarket and they go shopping and stuff like that. They wanted to go all the local places and I don't know if it's nice or not. I don. We are from the islands. We are from the islands. We are from the islands. We are from the islands. We are from the islands. It's important to communicate. We are from the islands, we are from the islands. We are from the islands. We are from the islands. We are from the islands. We are from the islands. We are from the islands. We are from the islands. We are from the islands. We are from the islands. Brazilian teacher to teach him Portuguese.
Speaker 2:Good, I don't know if he doesn't know if he talks to him or not, but it's important to have communication right.
Speaker 3:I should let you know and you should be able to give me feedback so I can understand what he's saying Exactly?
Speaker 1:I don't know if he'll let me know. I'm a Brazilian from Aruba, from Corsica. Wait, they make you feel at home. We're gonna keep coming back. We're gonna keep coming back. We're gonna keep coming back.
Speaker 2:No-transcript we're gonna keep coming back.
Speaker 3:We're gonna keep. It's a weird thing biggest increase in whatever.
Speaker 1:What was the biggest increase?
Speaker 2:biggest increase in America.
Speaker 3:America has grown significantly it's like it's huge you have a very big group from Texas too, texas too.
Speaker 2:you're in Texas significantly. It's like it's huge, you think, a very big group from Texas is coming.
Speaker 1:Yes, Texas is coming.
Speaker 2:What You're in Texas, that's wild. Yes, in the summer. Texas is very hot Like the people from Texas leave Texas in the summer months.
Speaker 3:The humid kills you Because it's like it's hot, too hot.
Speaker 2:Yes, that's what makes it happen. So we have more branded hotels like Sandals, we have Merit in Construction, we have the Whole Dreams Zoe 3 Sunscape and we have brands like Renaissance. So we have brands like this. This is one of the Dutch. I've seen a lot of brands with Americans that I know Renaissance, too there are a lot of brands here, even one of the Dutch hotels of Dutch owners that has a hotel that is running a bigger one. Yes, there is also a soft brand of the hotel that is running by Hilton. I'm going to tap hugely into that US market. We have a lot of good connectivity here tap hugely into that us market and yeah, I was surprised.
Speaker 3:I was like texas.
Speaker 2:That's interesting especially for texas, because they're very big on food.
Speaker 3:That's interesting. We got the beaches Especially for Texas Because they're very big on food. And they're very much foodies In a Kosovo Like Kosovo love language I feel like. Is food True? Perfect man?
Speaker 1:Goes hand in hand. Perfect man. It's crazy. What's your favorite community In Kosovo? Like go to like Oof. You know by I go to, not the Hopi, not in the car. Like go-to like oof, I go-to, not the rope, not the top three places to eat Place to eat Local Plaza.
Speaker 3:Not in Abay, not in Abay Plaza. In the beginning of the car I was like, okay, I want to go to Plaza.
Speaker 2:But it doesn't work out but Plaza. What kind of food is it Local? Local Plaza, but it doesn't work out. But Plaza, what kind of food is it Local? Local as fuck. Okay, exactly, there's local food. Local food, I mean, I like to eat yambo in Plaza.
Speaker 1:So you like yambo yes?
Speaker 2:They got everything.
Speaker 1:No, I'm not a fan of yambo. No, yambo is the shit you're going to say enjoy.
Speaker 3:No amazing, I like the food, the food I like.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, master, master you know um, this is um if you put it in the local part. But we have elevated local cuisines um that are in the band, that are in the band, that are really um fuse, our own flavors and our own customs. But there are really beautiful restaurants here, aki Bada, for example. There's no propaganda on New End but there's.
Speaker 1:There's no propaganda.
Speaker 2:But there's a mosaic.
Speaker 1:I was literally thinking that because their ceviche was so good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yes, it's in Forte, but it's in K91.
Speaker 2:The culinary is amazing.
Speaker 1:It takes me 20 days to experience half of what I'm offering.
Speaker 2:Exactly so. I thought let's go to a Dutch restaurant which is also a. Dutch restaurant which has a whole mall. Exactly, it's a food court.
Speaker 1:You can go from day to night. Just chill, just chill, you just chill, and then we have a restaurant called Kaleo.
Speaker 2:It's amazing, I must say. We have the best burger in the Caribbean.
Speaker 1:Burger house.
Speaker 3:Might have to agree In the Netherlands.
Speaker 1:How do you eat your home burger In the Caribbean Burger house? We Lora Bossa, lora Bossa, lora Bossa, lora Bossa, lora Bossa, lora Bossa, lora Bossa, lora Bossa, lora.
Speaker 3:Bossa, lora, bossa, lora, bossa, lora, bossa, lora, bossa, lora, bossa, lora, bossa Lora Burger House. It's a culinary range. No, we don't know each other.
Speaker 1:We've been living in the streets for a few days. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:It's a culinary range with Botin Anto Wagner. You know Botin has beach club vibes.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I love that.
Speaker 2:I know you don't like restaurants, but Botin has beach club vibes. It's amazing. You can eat on the beach. Pia de Santo. It's totally unique.
Speaker 1:It's beach. Um, it's a, it's a, it's a full vibe, it's a full experience. Exactly I like it. It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a. It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a it's a it's I just like that. You have different beach clubs, you have your own style and identity, your own different food and you just like dude, you just spend the day there I have a big band in the beach club.
Speaker 2:The beach club is new. I opened it. It's a big beach club. Okay, yes, I opened it, wow it's not that big, yes it's not that big, so it's like I'm going to go back.
Speaker 1:Yes, you're going to go back, so I was like I was like I was like I was like I was like I was like I was like I was like I was like I was like.
Speaker 2:I was like. I was like. I was like I was like.
Speaker 1:I was like. I was like. I was like we don't know what goal he's going to make. We're going to make it big, we're going to make it three. This opportunity, just take it. Let's go. Let's go. What's that Next time we're going to do?
Speaker 2:something called Tourist Vacation, and then enjoy the island, and then we want to surprise you, and then I'm going to be great, I'm going to be working. I'm going to be working Trajando em oficina de turismo Toca a beate em um ervarem novo Com o turismo de bisaba De Diego. Oh yeah, I need Me, me assim, to try to keep up With all the things. That we have to offer as an island, as a destination, and to go experience them For myself Por sombra, eita Assim na diverse, assim na tanta costa E assim com.
Speaker 1:E é difícil, de qualquer maneira Difficult, to explain something without experiencing it, like you have to experience it yourself. You talk about it you know Exactly. Exactly. Yeah, you like me too. You like parties. Let's party for a while. Okay, that's like an area. Morocco has several festivals. What's your favorite? Oh my God, what's your favorite? What's your favorite, jesus Christ?
Speaker 2:What's my favorite, you know North Sea On top of there.
Speaker 1:You know, Production wise.
Speaker 2:Crazy man, exactly, not only artists, really good artists.
Speaker 3:That's a plus, but the organization of it all it's experience.
Speaker 2:We have a summer festival.
Speaker 3:We have experience.
Speaker 2:For me, it's always great to see a mix between international artists and local artists. We want to see. The quality and performance for local artists is above and beyond. We have a lot of talented people and then we have a festival where we have another international artist and, I'm sorry, game over. Exactly, we have Blue Seas. In April we have Peter May.
Speaker 2:Blue Seas is really sorry, game over, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry sorry, sorry sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
Speaker 1:Stages and stuff like that, oh my God, I think Mardi Gras and New Orleans, new Orleans, there's a guy named Jazz Street that I remember. It's a full jazz, music, blues, different kind of tour bar.
Speaker 2:It's a type of vibe. There are more locations in the Netherlands, there are different areas. So yeah, what you like we can have a party. It's magic, it's a lot of fun. You know, there's something for us, monthly, there's a really really great party, something's going on.
Speaker 2:We have a local bands. We're going to have them on levels, inviting bands to come here or to Bollaria To party so loud so they mix it. They're going to Bollaria, they mix it, it's all there. We're going to have an international vibe, a local vibe. And then, yeah, we had a launch at the Beach Club. So, yeah, we had a Dutch artist there. He was really really good, madeiro. Yeah, he was a cabana. He was a cabana. He was like turn up the place, Turn up the place so we had a DJ there.
Speaker 3:It was about Davey putting turn up the place, turn up the place. So we don't like that DJs are there because they be they be putting down the J-Stacks and the Crocs all these guys like they're big deals there, so when they come to play it's like okay we're going to party, so we're going to play and they're going to party.
Speaker 1:We're going to enjoy it turn all the way up.
Speaker 2:Yes, so it's a mix of parties with our people. So we go to that festival vibe and we go to a club and we go to club and party with the people. And we go to the club and we go to the club and what is this about?
Speaker 3:What is this vibe? What can they even come about?
Speaker 2:Kaya Kaya. It's a bit of a festival but it's a country. Really. Kaya Kaya is a cultural explosion. Let's see A cultural explosion, the compass and the word Kaya Kaya. It invokes things in the other bands and if you look at the other bands the last one because of the festival Kaya Kaya it just changed and grew and became an iconic place.
Speaker 2:The importance of Kayakaya is not only at the festival day but also why Kayakaya is left behind. If you look at the neighborhood, the neighborhood of the other band has approximately 5 to 6 million people, so it's not a commercial area but it's more commercial. But the neighborhood of another band has a culture and a unique characteristic. So every time you come here you can fix a barrio, make a beautiful scenery, an art scenery, actually using the charm of the barrio and the beauty of the barrio to create so the festival. It's a cultural explosion. So you can come here during the festival to have artists come here, so you can actually make. On the day of the festival there will be artists on tour, so actually you will see the entire bar of the other band create stages and then put artists on the stages. It's music but a big art scene. So look at the back there are beautiful murals with real Instagram backgrounds on the floor.
Speaker 3:You're telling me about this. It was amazing.
Speaker 2:And then you'll see that behind the bar there are people and they're all having a house. You were telling me about this. It was amazing. It's more of an attraction Exactly, it fully is and they have a place to be, a place where you can go and explore.
Speaker 1:It's really super, super and it's also an attraction, exactly.
Speaker 3:It fully is. It's kind of like what they're doing with San Nicolas, a little bit With making it the artist. It's the most authentic part of the island it's like. Don't develop it. Just let the artists do their thing, spit your magic on these blank walls and to make it something, exactly do their thing, make spit your magic on these blank walls and to make it something.
Speaker 2:it's like, hey, the culture of the people of Otro Banda to just brush through the whole year, but this month the Kaya Kaya Festival is like there it's amazing to see and if they have art, they can just sell it from their own house.
Speaker 1:Sell art. Which is nice because I'm thinking about like whatever. I'm like okay, wow, once a month one Kaya Paga three Loon de Hypotheek. So I'm kind of like breathe easy it's also helping um the local and general plaga in another way, apart from what you're going to do Exactly.
Speaker 2:It's a beautification of the neighborhood, for sure. So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so so so, so, so, so, so so, and the other one is very beautiful, but it's really a beautiful place. It's very beautiful and it's a place where the investors can buy and restore their houses, because there are a lot of monuments here, monuments that are usually on the top, so the investors can buy monuments on the top. So we have a lot of things to offer, correct?
Speaker 3:Correct.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
Speaker 1:Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
Speaker 3:Yes, but our support, kayakaya. You know, it's a good thing that we have a good partner and entrepreneurs in the neighborhood, our support someone else did it.
Speaker 2:Yes it's a Kayakaya organization.
Speaker 1:They do the magic? Who did it? The reason I'm asking is when we come back, we're going to interview them?
Speaker 2:Because when we come back. We're going to interview them 100%. Kurt, the barrio barrio hotel. We're tracking the kayakaya festival. There's like these guys.
Speaker 3:They're all in the barrio, they're all leaving. I love it. We have a friend. Shout out to Irela, shout out to Angelo. Actually, we have a For Kaya Kaya, and it was A stage For Prime In the area.
Speaker 1:And it was.
Speaker 3:Huge Like See, because they play Afro beats.
Speaker 2:And there's the Choirs that we go to.
Speaker 3:Normally, and then Vibe A Kaya Kaya, experienced Kaya Kaya With MC.
Speaker 1:And.
Speaker 3:I was like, and we experienced Kaya Kaya, quincy, mc, whatever. I was like, damn, I should have gone to the. Okay, kaya Kaya.
Speaker 2:I have to experience. We're coming, you're welcome. Thank you, it's okay, I'm sure.
Speaker 1:It kind of overlaps when we have a season in the Netherlands, so maybe we can make it like come to Kaya.
Speaker 2:Kaya is focus is um, um, their culture and everything, and then just put kick ass good stages and good artists, local artists in Cebu. Practically it's just local, it's local you don't need to do anything else exactly. And then in the neighborhood it's just 25 million, fuck 25 million.
Speaker 1:Can you tell us?
Speaker 2:something about those three days it's a whole week, but it's a whole week and then open houses for Art Week. We have open air stages.
Speaker 1:It's kind of like Art Basel, I don't know. It's kind of like everything is art.
Speaker 2:And the entire week we're going to go to the art houses where we're going to put art on display. We're going to have a whole day of comedy, musical experiences, art and display, comedy, musical experiences, art.
Speaker 2:It's like a big thing, a festival and a really big finalizing with a big party different stages entrances enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, enter, create and have a stage and have a vibe lights the core.
Speaker 1:I'm sold. I have a lot of experience but listen to me over different hands. Talking to me something with experience is cool, exactly so. Is there anything you want to add to Kaikai or no, I feel like that was mainly it for me so I want to talk about Bini Bini 5, so I'll mention more time over the 2025 as well. I mentioned over the like what's up, what the skill, projections or goals. You could also go for 2025 which is 765 hold your account.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, how many?
Speaker 2:765?
Speaker 3:765. Okay, a thousand tourists here.
Speaker 2:But the most important goal for us is sustainable tourism, sustainable growth. So it's only for us to grow, but we grow in a sustainable way. We have a carrying capacity to go to the National Tourism Conference and resolutions that we have to execute. So basically, you know, add value resolutions to execute for us. So yeah, basically we are at value as a tourism office. We want to add value to our stakeholders, we want to add value to our community to participate in what we are doing as a tourism office. As a tourism office. So, yeah, have a great year and, you know, spawn that economic development for the island, because that's what we are doing. It for. Hey, anything the tourists come here is need to add to the economic development the island I want to talk about the orange economies.
Speaker 1:Let's see, you know you have to invest in the way of local talents. For example, I always say that in Aruba, like I understand that you have to invest in influencers in Aruba, in Corsair, in Bonero, and promote your island. But how about taking a chunk of the land and looking for a way? I don't know a chef who is super good in your culture and you invest and Michael is also investing. You can bring one video per week, three videos per week, but there is a salary and whatever else you need you can help with. You can do something. One way of investing in, like the orange economy yes, we invest in the tourism office, in the orange economy and local talent.
Speaker 2:How is the tourism office, the orange economy and local talent? How is local talent? It's about export and the Ministry of Economic Affairs has a national export strategy and one of the things that we can export is talent, our own talent, and our work primarily is with local chefs, artists, whatever in the international market. So every time we have something to do we can say, hey, we have an activity, a fair of something here. We go with our people to showcase what we do. Of course I like, for example, I don't know I go with a big artist, mural artist, Francis Ling. I don't know if you go to a big artist, mural artist like Francis Ling. I don't know if you go to Francis Ling in the Netherlands, I don't know if you go to Francis Ling in New York. You can walk and add value, chefs and bartenders we go all over the world with them, but we have to bring that uniqueness and flavor to the table, to the glass Corso to the world Exactly.
Speaker 2:So that's how we bring a lot of local talent to motivate and develop them to have skills with our people but also showcase them to the world and what we have. So that's definitely something with our people and our investors.
Speaker 3:I mean I'm very curious. I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean in this day. And age.
Speaker 2:You guys rule the world, amen. And so I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 3:I don't know game.
Speaker 1:So, real quick, what's the last word you want to add over the course, over the romance, whatever, like any final words you know our sister Aruba.
Speaker 2:I like Aruba too.
Speaker 1:You know what's your favorite thing about Aruba? Favorite thing what's the vibe?
Speaker 2:It has a different vibe. It's an island. We all understand it's different, but Aruba also has a vibe it's like a house that travels like exactly it's entirely. It's still in the Americanized scene you know, but it's a Caribbean island. It's a different vibe.
Speaker 1:I like the Caribbean island. You know, in Mexico it's a caribbean island. It's a caribbean island, it's the same like. It's the same like it's the same.
Speaker 2:Like kind of thing exactly? It's laid back. The caribbean people are with the great end 100% it's real great end.
Speaker 1:Yes, you're chill, you're chill you're chill, so I'm with you, I'm with you, I'm with you, great, so yeah, we 100%.
Speaker 2:We are really great. Yes, we are chill. We are really chill. We are really chill, so we are really great. So, yeah, we are really great. We are really great. We have a lot of things to offer. So we are, we are, we are. We live with each other. We are part of the kingdom. We share our passport. We share our language. We have a few. We don't have a word with us. We don't have a language with us, we don't have a language with us.
Speaker 1:We don't have a language with us we don't have a language with. I don't understand. There's some differences.
Speaker 2:There's some differences, but it's beautiful that you're unique and you're like you're unique. Now we're going to, we feel we're welcome, we feel we're welcome. So, yeah, that's what we do, and tourism is something extremely great. It's a passion and it's not a job. It's a passion for me as a person. Nice, make some changes, make some changes, add value. This is for me. It's doing my dream job let's go, man hey okay, so go for it.
Speaker 3:Just please walk on camera and plug, plug CTB, follow and get information all this good stuff websites hashtag curacaocom, curacao tourist board on all social medias.

Speaker 1:No, not yet. Who are you hoping? I don't know. There are artists that I don't know.
Speaker 2:I don't know Shakira Wow.
Speaker 3:I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 2:I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don they.
Speaker 1:They surprise people like wow, but, but, but, but, but but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but but but but a lot of people don't know how old he is.
Speaker 3:He's 20 years old, but he's 13 years old.
Speaker 1:He's not as old as yeah, yeah yeah, I got the vibe, I got the vibe, I got the vibe.
Speaker 3:He was my highlight.
Speaker 1:Sorry, you said you're 13 years old, bruno Mars, right.
Speaker 2:Next I'll tell you the upgraded Bruno Mars is here. Okay, and you and new, I'm like. Bruno Mars trust me over again.
Speaker 1:I mean so like that's the one artist that's still on my bucket list are the Indos Linkin Park and the Bruno Mars Indos community.
Speaker 2:Linkin Park, linkin Park, amazing Linkin Park but when I Linkin Park I know it's just Yammer, but I think Bogota is Colombia, see, and the guy performed in November. Lingen Park is amazing. The rock scene is like great Lingen Park.
Speaker 1:Otzi Manga is coming, but it's going to be a C of the exactly. But Bruno Mars over here I would love to see. I don't know if he's going to go to North Sea Jazz, but if he takes Bruno Mars, I don't I'm going to North Sea Jazz, but believe me, if you're here in the sea, you'll see a lot of things. Just boo, what a cool. You're going to see a charter plane. I have a board for you, but a charter plane somewhere You're going to see a kayak somewhere.
Speaker 2:I'm going to be looking forward to the Hockey Festival as well.
Speaker 1:I'm going to look at interviews and I'm going to look at interview like I mean, look at interview like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like making decisions being syndicated. So I'm making that. What about therapists? Like, how are you handling this pressure? It's.
Speaker 2:Mr Gregory Elias from Fundación Winden Okay good. He's the genius behind everything, so he's the genius behind North Sea Jazz, but also Blue Seas Festival, international Film Festival. I've also heard about it.
Speaker 2:Oh wow, bluesies festival, international film festival, oh wow, wow you guys are really invested, yes, and then it's a foundation, foundation, good intention, and it's all about giving back and thank you. So that makes it, that makes the beauty behind it. It's all about, you know, improvement of our island, giving back to our island. So, amen, I love that. Yes, maria, I want to.
Speaker 1:It's all about, you know, improvement of our island, giving back to our island. Amen, I love that. Muriat, I want to say thank you for coming to the show. Do you know my pronunciation? Do you know me? Shit, no, I'm kidding. I want to say Muriat, Muriat, it's good yes. I want to say thank you for coming to the show. Hopefully it's to be back. I'll see so long and it's not the same as when I was 2% from the island, so hopefully the next trip we get to explore a little bit more.
Speaker 3:I agree For sure All right.
Speaker 1:Good Guys, thanks for watching and I'll see you back next month. Peace, Adios, ciao, ciao, ciao.
