If This Rumor Is True… Aruba Has a Serious Problem | EP 238
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Aruba can move fast when it wants to. That’s exactly what got under our skin.
One day the island is filled with potholes and half-finished projects. The next day there’s smooth asphalt and fresh paint because King Willem-Alexander is visiting. It raises a bigger question: if we can fix things overnight, why doesn’t that same urgency exist year-round?
In this episode, we break down how Aruba Day has started to feel more like a production than a true celebration of the island and its people. We talk about optics, priorities, and what happens after the cameras leave.
Then we zoom out into a deeper issue: accountability in Aruba politics. What would happen if ministers were selected based on competence instead of popularity? What if they had to present real plans, pass tests, and defend their ideas in public debates?
We also discuss a rumor that hits close to home for many people in the private sector: government employees allegedly collecting salaries without actually working. If true, this isn’t just inefficiency, it’s a direct drain on public funds and trust.
This episode isn’t just about criticism. It’s a challenge.
It’s easy to expect activists to carry the weight of change alone. Real progress requires more people, more structure, and more involvement from the community and private sector.
We also touch on everyday life, from finding peace in simple routines to why maintaining your clothes says more about discipline than you think.
If you were in charge of Aruba, what would you fix first?

Radio News And Cold Open
SPEAKER_08Listen, I know the episode is about to start, but I just gotta tell you this. We are now going to be on the radio. XFM 102.7 FM Babies, no filter is about to take over. So your Saturday mornings are about to be even better. Okay, enjoy the show now. How is this not corruption? How is this not corruption? That's what Marisoto was basically saying when she came with the whole ghost Ghostbusters thing. She's like, Yeah, I don't I don't see him going inside a restroom, taking off his suit to put on a duck with the shirt and then walk outside and be like, okay, the one.
SPEAKER_03Like, I do not see that.
SPEAKER_02I don't see that. Mike, hey man, making with it in connection. And the basis of the Udons I sit down with the king.
SPEAKER_06What did Tisa say about him and his words?
SPEAKER_02Empty.
SPEAKER_08All they did. That's one of the roads that they think, but that is where you can feel like the smooth asphalt.
SPEAKER_02I'll never understand. Like, we're gonna fix this piece, but what about the what about here and here? Like, do realize the road continues, right? Great that you start, or you're gonna keep going. Is this a one-night stand or a long-term relationship with the streets? Like, now I know why people don't want that because now you're seeing you go to Lisa Hope Lara, go to the niggana cobrando. That's why they don't want the rake sweat. I just I just have to click this shit.
SPEAKER_08What are we doing? Are we really requiring Nigel to just handle all of this on his own? Be like, nah, you have to have the plan, you have to have the solution, you have to have the this, you have to have the matrix. That's crazy.
Housekeeping And Community Shout Outs
SPEAKER_00Hey yo, what is up? I'll acemister back to the ABC I'm favorite podcast, The Filter Paradise. A show about anything and everything with your two friends, one is straight and the other.
SPEAKER_08Super duper black and gay babies, let's get it.
SPEAKER_00Last week's episode was with Luna Foundation. A lot of great reactions. You guys love that episode.
SPEAKER_08Shout out to Zoe.
SPEAKER_00We've received I I don't know if you've seen the emails. Oh, and some DMs. We've been receiving a few emails on different stick things and foundations that want to come on the show. So we see your email, we just have to go through it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we have to get back to y'all. Give us a tune.
SPEAKER_00And kind of like schedule it out properly. Supposed to call us on sticking or from foundation of algo cool that has ended up really good cause in the island, please comment them down below. DM us on Instagram from the saw. King and Tal, maybe we reach out to them and shine just like Shifting Hunto, just like Luna, we shine a little bit of light on these people.
SPEAKER_01Perhap.
SPEAKER_00Because you know, these guys want on donations and sometimes people just don't, you know, when they go beyond the They don't fund them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So if we can help, like Luna, let's say help.
SPEAKER_01It'd be like that. So come through.
SPEAKER_00I'm still gonna make that video. We have to go there. Yeah, yeah. Um, so please hold us accountable if if we forget, which happens a lot, at least I side.
Cleaning As Peace Of Mind
SPEAKER_08My friend was there this weekend.
SPEAKER_00Volunteering?
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_00What what what did your friend do?
SPEAKER_08I think he was cleaning and I think he's also he was also walking some dogs. Shout out to Peach. Yeah, I was gonna clean. I was not gonna walk the dogs though. Like Oh, I thought you would walk the dog and oh no, I think that's great for people to be able to walk the dogs.
SPEAKER_00You better pick up shit and yeah, I better clean.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I like cleaning. I just need music and I'm good to go.
SPEAKER_00I'll like clean and you know, you know, I I've realized that maybe I'm gonna hold. I don't know. I enjoy cleaning my apartment. Like, when Tori cooks in the kitchen's a mess, I'm like. I just like I go into a zone, Tori thinks I'm mad. Because I get so focused, like my face like I'm pissed off. And I just like play this show, clean the other thing that I start sleeping the floor while she just lays on the couch and probably maybe she's working or school on Instagram, but like and when she tries to help, like, no no no. Don't get in my way.
SPEAKER_08That's how I I feel like you see on Instagram, I'm always doing chores. I'm always washing clothes, washing dishes, doing my plants, my dogs. Like, I enjoy that shit. I enjoy the physically doing the thing. I feel like it gives me a moment for everybody to just like back off. Don't tell me, don't come and talk to me, don't try to help. Like, I don't need nothing right now.
SPEAKER_00I just I'm in my happy zone right now.
SPEAKER_08I'm in my fucking happy zone and my music is on, it's blasting. I'm like in my vibe. Like, ugh.
SPEAKER_00Although I am calling it happy zone, and but in the back of my mind now, I'm thinking it's more like uh it's an isolated zone where my brain is so focused on the task at hand that I don't think about anything else. Like I'm not even playing music by the way. It's just silence. Like I know music in the background, I just I go to my laundry pile, I dump everything on the floor, and I start like sorting out like black over here, white over here, colors over here. What gets to be hung and what goes on the dryer. Because guys, no stuff cycle. At least I was my young cycle, my ass was like dude. At the age of 30, I'm always like I I always drop off my stuff at the laundry bath. Yeah, you still go in the dryer, I don't care. I didn't care. And then Dora's like, what do you do? Like, that's why all your shit are shrinking. Huh? Anything 100% cotton, you can't throw into the dryer. You have to have it. Like this shirt.
SPEAKER_08There's so many topics coming out of my mind right now that we're having this conversation.
SPEAKER_00Like what?
SPEAKER_08Because, okay, so one thing's one is a lot of people don't know what peace of mind is. So when you're in it, you don't realize that that's it. So you thinking that you're super laser focused and you're not, you that is a peaceful moment. You don't even need music. I add music because like it adds to the to the effect, and that's how I grew up. Every Saturday morning, mom wakes up, it's loud music, and it's we are cleaning the house. It's chores. So it is that normal thing, but it is peace of mind when you can be able to just sit in quiet and just do stuff. Like just or do nothing. That is peace of mind, especially in your house.
SPEAKER_00Do nothing might be fun at the beginning, but then like it pisses me off later on. It's like, come on, are we gonna start? No, it's not gonna go or the like lace switch or scrolling, but I like clean the house, you know? Like it happened to me actually like yesterday. I thought when I'm in that zone of like I'm in the cleaning zone, like I just go, go, go, go, go. Laundry, I go into the bathroom, start scrubbing the floors, like just clean. I I I started realizing, oh, I actually enjoy doing this.
Taking Care Of Quality Clothes
SPEAKER_08Maybe because I'm getting older. But that's peace of mind. It is, it is not again, you're in your own house. This is your own space. There are no rules to when you have to clean and how you have to clean. So if whenever you get that spirit to be like, oh, I'm gonna clean up this place now, that's when you do it. Any if you if somebody has to tell you to do that before that, now it feels like a task. It's like now it's like, ah, I don't want to do it. Now I don't want to do it. Fuck you. Versus, no, I'm I I realize this. I let me let me start doing this thing. And that free time, that that is mental peace. Another thing that you said was, and this is something I realized like with periodico, and I've also realized it with other with other brands. So a friend of mine, I'm not gonna say whose name is, he told me that he bought a shirt from this place on the island, I'm not gonna say where, and the shirt shrinked and all this good stuff, right? And I was like, So he was like, Yeah, um, he's not gonna buy shirts from there anymore, and yada yada yada. And I'm like, No. First of all, how did you wash it and dry? Like, what it what was that whole system where my my nail is broken?
SPEAKER_00Oh, I thought I was a point. I was just looking at your shirt. Sorry. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Throw back, no?
SPEAKER_00Who with a dick?
SPEAKER_08It took me like a second, like shout out to Carolina.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's uh, that's uh there was a name specifically for this for the rubber. Whoa, bro, that's a throw.
SPEAKER_08This was one of our first sponsors.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_08They sponsored us, no filter with the the whole this they sponsored the show show show.
SPEAKER_00No, but not just that, they I I didn't ask for them like way before No Filter too, like on jelly pirates and stuff, like I was wearing this stuff. My friend was there too, like, holy shit. I didn't even realize it till you've been in the studio for like three hours and everything.
SPEAKER_08I mean, you're only now waking up as well, so I had a rough start today. Yeah, we've been here for hours. He only now just woke up.
SPEAKER_00So sorry, okay.
SPEAKER_08So why so I was like, listen, first of all, how are you washing these things and all this good stuff? Secondly, people don't understand that when you are purchasing certain materials, you're per you're purchasing a piece of luxury. You're not per purchasing just a shirt. Some places just sell shirts and you can do whatever you want to, but anything that you buy of quality, do you not take care of it with quality? You don't take your laptop and just throw it all over the place.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because you know how to care of a you know how to care of a laptop, some people. But some people, Given A, did not know just throw everything into the dryer.
SPEAKER_08We don't because you chose not to know that. Nobody all of y'all choose not to do that. I mean, again, you're paying, you're not paying 20 florins for a shirt, for instance. You're paying over 50, over 75 for these shirts. What you haven't been recording?
SPEAKER_02No, I have, yeah. But I saw a button that was on the whole time. It says voice disguise. So now I'm wondering if the whole episode was sounding weird.
SPEAKER_08How have we been sounding?
SPEAKER_02I think so. I don't know. But we're gonna find out, guys. If we did, like I'm sorry, we just this is our normal voice now.
SPEAKER_01I mean no song. Shit. It's okay, it's okay. It is what it is, it is what it is. Anyways, let's move on. I'm sorry, I distracted you twice. Yeah, it's okay. Let's move on.
SPEAKER_02So, yeah, at the end of the day, if we I didn't know about it, so and apparently neither did your friend.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because he was saying he'll never buy a shirt from that place because it shrunk, but it shrunk because he wasn't care of it cleaning it. If you throw it in the dryer, it's gonna shrink, but even if you hang it, it like even on no filter shirt is that we have like I've had this shirt for like three years. It's still in just now, it started getting a crack. But I just took care of the shirt. I hung it, I never threw it in the dryer. So take care of your shirts.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
The King’s Visit And Aruba Day
SPEAKER_02Anyway, that wasn't even the point of this card of this today's episode. I just segwayed a little bit. Um, so what are some of the topics? You want to talk about the king? Oh, we can we can hop into that back. So the king left. Um, he was here for a day, nice little parade. And Shark and I discussed about I think we have to first say like what happened to the episode. Like we did an episode that didn't load, upload.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, so that's why you didn't get an episode last week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, last week Tuesday. We were we were talking about how the king is coming and how Aruba is doing all this cleanup, all this construction, and and then for what? So that was a conversation. So we wanted to bring back that topic because that episode didn't load last week. Um Aruba decided to do a whole renovation. I didn't really see much because those roads I didn't drive during that period. And Aruba already complained about the plaque water gastop. King William Alexander, yeah, just for one day. And then our question was great that you start, or you're gonna keep going. Is this a one-night stand or a long-term relationship with the streets? Like, what are you trying to do here? So that that that's the question that we have. Um and curious if the government's gonna keep like, you know, great start, but uh but the way Cita Aasi it's not fixed the streets, fix the whatever.
SPEAKER_08I think what pissed off a lot of people was how much Aruba made it, made just Oju Di Mart, because that's like a lot of backlash that we see that I've been seeing now, just thinking about it. That's a lot of backlash that we that we've been seeing is how they made just Oju Di Mart nothing about Aruba and all about the king coming, like the king's visit. There was like a lot of that is a good There was a lot of Holland flags, there was a lot of preparation for the king because the king is coming and doing all these type of things, but it was like y'all took away everything about the day being to celebrate Aruba and made it about celebring Aruba and the king is coming, or we're also gonna celebrate Aruba. But the king is coming, yeah, or we're gonna celebrate Aruba. So people weren't too happy about that at all, and I guess it's also okay, fine. The king is coming. The king arrived, he came, he's here. What did you do with that momentum now that he was here? This would have been a time where the government could have been like, hey, you're here, but we're gonna show you how we celebrate just Ocho Dimat. We're gonna show you each and every aspect of our culture, like the full balone. Okay, we're giving you we're gonna have you with the little protocols and all that good stuff, but we are going to show you how we do. Like, the just Ocho Dimat thing was celebrating at the Carnival Village. Why would you not take him there then? True, have him see the food, have him see all these types of things.
SPEAKER_02Imagine like everybody go over here. We're gonna be over here with the king. Don't come over here. Imagine that.
SPEAKER_07I mean, now that you said it that way, now that's look it's making it seem like, oh shit, throw everybody in the other side of the island and conspiracy theory and throw baby.
SPEAKER_08He doesn't want to make a hat, y'all, for himself.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna the next time we have a conspiracy theory, I'm gonna have a tenfold hat for me and two.
SPEAKER_08No, for you. I like how you suck that away in. Like for me and shark.
SPEAKER_02It should be like a little segment so we know, hey, what about one of the 10 full? Ah, no, no, no. So the part of other cool BJ Plus no poor. And they don't be conspiracies. No, it'd be question marks. But yeah. That's a good point. I mean, I saw him go, like, yeah, he went to the Olympic place, Olympico, he went to see all the water ballet thing, single swimming. Um, I saw he went to the Dakota Dakota.
SPEAKER_08He went to Dakota.
SPEAKER_02Was he actually wearing a shirt of the quota or was it AI?
SPEAKER_08I don't know.
SPEAKER_02You know what I'm talking about? The picture of him wearing like the um SV Dakota, like the uniform. Oh, I don't think he wore that. I think it's I I couldn't tell if it was AI because I'm like protocol-wise, like, is that that is that okay today?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I don't think I don't see him going inside a bat a restroom, taking off his suit to put on a duck with a shirt, and then walk outside and be like, okay, the quota. Oh, Roman.
SPEAKER_03Like, I do not see that.
SPEAKER_08I don't see that. I did see somebody sent me a video when I was on the radio. Shout out to Katy. She sent me a video of let me see if she sent it here or XFM.
SPEAKER_02You know, we have to sit with, like, we have to sit with like um again with Tisa, Ronella, and also maybe Nigel again. And kind of asked.
SPEAKER_08What was that conversation like?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they all had a conversation with the king. Like, they all set a little circle, and how did I go? What did you guys talk about? What did you guys bring up? What was his response? Like, we should we should reach out to one of them and see like which one wants to come. I mean, I always like having Tisa on their show. Like, she she always says things and you know, yeah, like with facts and stuff. I also want to bring Ranela as well. Anyways, so continue. They'll be back. I thought you were gonna show me a video. I'm waiting.
SPEAKER_08No, no, no, no. I I said she sent it on the XFM phone.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_08It was when the king was in Dakota, so I think he had a suit on. I I think he had a suit on, so I don't think the shirt the thing was real. But I could be very wrong. Could be.
SPEAKER_02So again, like um, I never I didn't see any complaints about that. So it is kind of a nice perspective, not nice, but a different perspective of like you made it all about the King of Holland without like doing things at like what's the place called? Papaya Ranch and all these other did it go there? Nada.
SPEAKER_08I I was not I was celebrating Jesuit DiMart. I did not follow what the king was doing because again, it was not about him at all. I didn't really care either. Respectfully. Shout out to you, King Ray Mar. And just watching. Yeah, Marisney for you.
SPEAKER_02Hey, also, Mike, hey, man, put it in connection. And we saw that you don't know say um sit down with the king.
SPEAKER_06What did Tisa say about him and his words?
SPEAKER_02Empty. No, I didn't say that, Tisa.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, no. No joking. We don't joking. I'm sorry, I'm not taking that thing. No minister is telling me I'm not, I'm taking that thing with a grain of salt. Oh, see, no spawn, no speech, put in a space. He didn't even mention no filter. Like, I can guarantee you that he didn't even say no who? Why? Nah. So yeah, no, forget you.
SPEAKER_02I was I was gonna show you this one. So speaking about the king and government and stuff, Shomara posted this picture. I saw that. Yeah, it says basically, guys. Um it's a picture of like you see a few ministers, and in the back you see like strikes with hofa. I'm trying to figure out if this picture is fake or not.
SPEAKER_01I don't think so.
SPEAKER_02If it's not fake, then it's it's perfectly planned. It could be.
SPEAKER_08It is 1000% planned.
SPEAKER_02As in like, for example, like Chamada could arrange this, or somebody in map or opposition could a account exactly to be to show people, you know what I mean? It's like it's it's almost too perfect.
SPEAKER_08Like I I okay, so I don't want to say that they're not smart, but I don't think I don't see them planning something out that strategically all the way there. You'll be surprised. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. That that they that they had those people there 1000% that they were gonna get this shot, I don't believe they are that strategic. I'm sorry, I don't think they're that smart. I'm so sorry, respectfully. I do not see them being like, oh, okay, they're gonna walk by here, so this is a perfect angle to have y'all stand right here. This is the position y'all need to stand at. I think it was more on the lines of something like, hey, the king is gonna be here, y'all need to manifest this thing. It's uh respectable silent protest, but it needs to happen. Um, and y'all just be there. Now, the angle of the photo, I think could be wrong. This is where I think the photographer is like, ooh, uh, this is a motherfucking shot. What's the game with that again? See what you're floating. Yeah, I could see the photographer and be like, what? Because they have the visual eye for stuff like that. Like, I could see a photographer being like, ooh, this is a moment right here. Let me eat this up real quick.
SPEAKER_02A little bit of a viral picture.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I do not see the government or the opposite. Because they never did nothing strategically like that for nothing Aruba-wise. If they did certain things like that, Aruba-wise, I would have been like, nah, I could see them doing that. Yeah, but doing that smart, they don't give you those vibes.
SPEAKER_02I'm saying, nah, I may maybe you're wrong. Maybe they're maybe they play dumb. I'm not sure. No, they don't play dumb. Play dumb, but they actually know what they're doing in terms of like being a little snaking the plans, if you know what I mean.
SPEAKER_08No, I mean they're all crooked. I'm sick of all of them. I'm sick of each and every one of them. I'm I'm dead ass. I am sick of all of these motherfuckers. It is a bunch of games. It is a oh my god. Like, I'm so sick of them. I'm so sick of them. But y'all gonna hear this on Table X because we're gonna talk. Shit. But I'm sick of these motherfuckers. This week? No, not this week.
Why Road Fixes Feel Performative
SPEAKER_02Not this week, not this week. Hey, I hope you're enjoying the episode so far. But before we continue, we just want to let you guys know that every single Monday and every single Friday, Shark and I drop a food review video on our food review channel called No Filter Eats. The link is in the description. So click it, go follow it, and let us know where we should go eat. If it's Aruba Bonero Curaçao or Holland, doesn't matter where, let us know where we should go, and we'll go try it for you guys. All right. So enjoy the show. Make sure to subscribe. See ya. Anyways. Well, that was it. That was one thing we talked about in the episode then uploaded about the king. I really do hope they keep cleaning or keep renovating. Yeah, please.
SPEAKER_08With that smooth ass motherfucking asphalt.
SPEAKER_02I still haven't driven that.
SPEAKER_08That's crazy. Sam.
SPEAKER_02It's the one like by the running.
SPEAKER_08Oh, okay. Where we're Roman. After Atta. Yeah. What? After Atha, you have like that little small it wants to be a roundabout, but it's not a roundabout.
SPEAKER_02Like a little 3 hook ish. Like in their Murmado's house, like
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that road over there.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I know, I know, I know.
SPEAKER_08They fixed that little piece there.
SPEAKER_02That the one they closed for carnival, like oh well, supposed to be. Correcto. So now there's like a little a little garden shit over there.
SPEAKER_08That's all they did. That's one of the roads that they fixed. But that is where you can feel like the smooth asphalt. It's like this.
SPEAKER_02I'll never understand. Like, we're only gonna fix this piece, but what about what about here and here? Like, you do realize the road continues, right? I just don't understand.
SPEAKER_08Okay, you did this. Y'all, y'all proud of this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_08And not this.
SPEAKER_02But don't get up. You know the meme of like, do they see us? Because I see them. Do you see them? I see them.
SPEAKER_08They see me. Do you see them?
SPEAKER_02That's how I feel the streets.
SPEAKER_08They do that. They're really doing that.
SPEAKER_02Like, do they see us?
SPEAKER_08I'm over here in my whole pothole. A whole motherfucking pothole.
SPEAKER_02Keep saying the one near my house is the worst.
SPEAKER_08And they keep patching it up. That's what irritates me. It's the patches.
SPEAKER_02Break the whole thing and then do a new layer. That patch is gonna keep getting fucking fixed.
SPEAKER_08All like not a patch is not a patch to be swelling up as well. So now like the road is flat, but the patch is like elevated.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god. I can't. Yeah, but the but the but uh you question the the people's knowledge that do these kind of jobs. I'm sorry. Like everybody has to do a test. You get that it does, but you go ask what you know, but make sure adequately should be applied in jobs. Like you should do a test to see if hey, out of two scenarios, which one is right, which one is wrong? Or what would you do? Explain. And obviously, if you keep failing these tests, I don't think you should be doing anything on the road, buddy.
Electing Ministers By Portfolio
SPEAKER_08So then how do you let me ask you this? How do you feel about VAC ministers? So it being something more on the line of hey, I want to be minister of culture. Hey, yeah, we the three of us, we wanna we wanna run for minister of culture.
SPEAKER_02I think that's I think that's how. I think we talked about this last week, actually. We I think it should be like that, where you have a plan for tourismo. I'm gonna be a minister, and the core competitive ministers. But at least they each have their own, like I am only focused on this. Um fucking celebrity. Like me nobody. So I am focused now on this. So it would be great if people can just up the premier minister, any visa minister, whatever, whoever's vice minister. So these two positions, you cannot vote to be in this position. That that position gets filled. Once Bambi is a thing just three minister, each person gets one cartera. Let's say there's 13, and from those 13, pause.
SPEAKER_08Just to add on this 13 part, these can easily also some things are they can eat they can become one. Like go hand in hand together? Yeah, because it's like, come on. Those things they should go hand in hand.
SPEAKER_02So like But then you you work with the person say Amigana, so the financial Avogana, so the the infrastructure, you have to come deal with so we have to have a.
SPEAKER_08No, that for sure. I mean, all everybody has to deal with each other at the end of the day, for sure.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I'm saying that certain certain Cartierna is like to just be over and done with, but continue on with So once you have all the ministers that have been properly elected based on what their plan is and what they want to do, those 13 now do a vote, and also the one in um opposition, they do a vote of who's gonna be the leader. So now there is no I don't think you could do any corruption there because you handle it top of auto. Everybody's gonna be like, I'm gonna do my job fucking good because you're not gonna say shit about me. And I'm gonna do my same party though, so we're not like I mean, I'm gonna go to the house. Everybody holds each other accountable. At the end of the day, you still have to work together. It's like you cannot LNG deal. You can't be doing that shit. That's it. You can't be doing that. So I think that would be great if we could have an election like that. I don't know how that would work. Yeah, he's been he's been fighting for that. Yeah, and you I mean I already feel I'm getting like how about even like oh, the AV is tourism. There's none three ways to be high for the Minister of Tourism, Minister of the Infrastructure, Minister the I agree with that. And in order for you to even be part of an election, has you test? There has to be a test. Hey, but even subi un lista di partido of even Lanta, because otherwise, any dude like what's uh exactly that.
SPEAKER_08You don't even have to say it that yes, we all know how we're talking about.
SPEAKER_02How do you even maybe now he has a lot of education? I I don't know how he did all this.
SPEAKER_08The rest of the party doesn't. So tanto bal atrobe.
SPEAKER_02So there has to be like a plus he's a firma, like that's way too low. Easily like it to be single hill of me.
SPEAKER_08So now people feeling petty vote, petty like oh pika, wakita si isn't.
SPEAKER_02Because now what you're doing is like now we put menos grupo, and we're gonna sing the partita putting says. So now all the votes can go like, okay, but the mask map, mythamasku me the like whatever.
SPEAKER_08It becomes more quality over quantity. Because now I can actually take time and focus on okay, no, this is five people. So let me just I only have to listen to these five people because these are my only options to vote for and not do anything I need to hear.
SPEAKER_02So let me just share the tourismo.
SPEAKER_08No, of course, you're gonna have to listen to all, but I'm that's what I'm saying. It becomes more in a business today is the debate from the tourismo, the tourismo one. Imagine debates like that. Now it's about easier. So now it's we we're going with intention, we're just watching this debate, and we're seeing there, we're just comparing now based off of hey, that's your plan, that's your plan, that's your plan. How long is your plan gonna take? Oh, mine is in five years, mine is in 20 years, no, mine is in three years. So, okay.
SPEAKER_02And now we have different debates. Now we have again, we now have 13 debates held every two days, for example. Okay, I would have debate over the tourismo, infrastructure, is liberty. Please represent that not maybe, maybe not every party. I'm sorry, I'm making futuro. As I'm making by um you hand the futuro. So, okay, I'm out. So like futuro no, no, keta e then because that's not our strong point. Do you know what I'm trying to say? Because now we we pick like what's that me gusta sharks supplantismo, shark, pa mini turismo. Oh, but they vote is everybody you would have to vote, I guess, like 13 times. You know what I mean? Like tourismo, saki, infrastructure, deporte, la la la. And then once everybody's in the fucking thing, now like a nung miss and a nung, keys king, to be the um leader department, leader the gobierno, whatever you want to call it, king to be represented Hulanda, so and that them amongst leaders decide, and maybe you figure out a way to have public opinion as well. Kind of like uh um all these like talent shows. Like you have judges, but yeah, who's like the people's favorite leader? So imagina people's favorite means to just lead the depot if they also agree. So now we have the people want this, and inside, so he is the right person to lead the country. Hey, if it goes to hell, we go to hell all together because we all voted for this shit. But that makes sense. For me, it does.
SPEAKER_08It's I don't think it's impossible. I just think there's a structure because I don't think we're not creating the structure, we're just giving ideas right now. But I I think there is a structure. Clearly, VAC ministers exist already, so it exists. There it's it is a 1000% possibility in Holland, like Oh, really? I don't know.
SPEAKER_02So this idea I get to make sense. Actually, uh if it's a popularity kind of or you're actually smart about this and yeah, because if we have to look at like Minister Di Tourismo now, sorry, but nobody's beating Otmar.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Respectfully. So if it was something to be like, hey, Basakiko, we're looking into this. I'm like, listen. So Otmar has has proof of what he did. Yeah. So it's kind of giving like Dangi would never become that again.
SPEAKER_02I'm sorry. Yeah. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02There are people in power as a position. Like, how how are you in the world?
SPEAKER_08Like, what do you what's the correlation there? Like, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Guys, at Umbiamas-based show. So again, this is just ideas that we like, this would this work? Would this make gobierno fair and corrupted? Okay, guys. On, on, okay, aruba, what is it? Like, we don't put it on different participants. See, my young turismo get fucked. Who's in charge of that? How did you drop that fucking ball? Everybody can hold him accountable. Hey, not so friends.
SPEAKER_08And I feel like it also helps give better quality to the job. So now you can be like, oh no, Dorcomita, you can't do it. Now, well, we're gonna help you remove that problem. Now you only have one thing to focus on. Which one is it? Now you are you've you run campaigns for that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean the wonders. They were like, like Matt Paul's like, wow, minister, but he shit them like what's one different? Apparently, it's salary and salary, yeah. I'm like, cool, but then how about we're gonna get into this one? And I'm gonna have to set up straight because it's gonna piss me off. Um how about okay, you put the he's a minister, unto focus. The um coordinators, coordinators, and instead of everybody having 20, now everybody gets like five, five, five, five, five. What do you see you go? And maybe that's not realistic, but uh cut cost others.
SPEAKER_08Then clearly they need like if if they're saying that it's impossible or it it can't go, they need better financial advisors because you are bad spending in a lot of areas. So money is getting spent the wrong way, and it's not like we don't know the island is not making money. We know for a fact the island is making money, so it's clearly bad money management is this island's problem. It is we have no uh money management, we have no structure, we have no limits, there's no cap to anything. Everything is allowed up until it gets out of hand, then it's like fuck, we have a problem, we have to fix it now.
The Ghost Salary Corruption Rumor
SPEAKER_02Or fix no problem. Like, how am I supposed to fix that in one year? It's like gaining, it's it's like you gain weight for a whole year and then you expect to lose it in a month. It's not gonna work that way. Speaking of I'm to narrow the cornea and oh yeah, so I don't have a tinfoil, but imagine my tinfoil hat is ready to go. Shark tem and this is DJ B steam. We heard, I heard, we heard, who supposed are still being paid their salary for years, but they're not even working in government. I don't know how true this is, but this is if this this is if this is I'm stuttering because this is if this is true, I understand why people like really want to work in government and then they're and then he's uh ASAP, but I don't think I said for life. I never understood it. Like, gosh, whatever. So come to find out conspiracy. And if somebody can validate, let us know. Come to find out that I think whatever. Even see Gobierno switched before Bombisa Avipe Squatter pain di dosta map, right? That's eight years. Damn. Anyways, you get it. So AVP is a good thing. Sorry, map there, map be abo weak way you're out. Even if they're still out of government, they still keep their government salary salary and get paid every single month. What's keep what's that sound? It's in my cup. It was, yeah.
SPEAKER_08So if that's if that's true, that's that's fucking insane. It is it is really crazy. So I believe this is what Marisol was talking about when she said about Ghostbusters in Spiritang. It's so you're telling me that we are paying a bunch of people that aren't physically working. Correct. How is this not corruption? How is this not corruption? That's what Marisol was basically saying when she came with the whole ghost Ghostbusters thing. She's like, people are getting paid to do jobs that they're not doing. That they're not doing it. They're not at home. They're at home. They probably got a second job, they got a different job, doing a whole other thing. I mean, the combined like if I want to know if that's true.
SPEAKER_02Like, it doesn't handle me instead of sticking on and speaking those. I highly doubt anybody has the balls to do it. But if you're watching, please message a message shark. I'm not gonna answer. No, no, yes, you will because this is important. Because that's one way. But imagine Mikey the 2000, and says, I will be back at the bo. Hey, Mikey, hey, but I'm not gonna go back to the back and put it back to being put in back. The least I can do is come back now. Show up and drive me. I don't know if this is true. So please, somebody DM me, DM no filter. Guys, freaking anonymous. Because that's a serious topic.
SPEAKER_08That's a waste of money. It's not a lie. And the only reason why I feel like it's not a lie is because it's Aruba, and everybody talks to each other. So there's people that this is their life. There, they would tell you, like, nah, gee, I'm in the trap, I'm a trap, but I'm some of them are.
SPEAKER_02So we're out here like fucking working, trying to build shit, and then full of red tapes. And then, yeah, Papa. I'm trying I'm setting up a business right now, and I asked to like, hey, no, cubanko. See, no, um this is like a month ago, I called. See, me to look up about um Bing D May Maril. I gotta wait three months to and then these motherfuckers be chilling at home, cobrano and salario, meaning.
SPEAKER_08Clearly, if you're chilling at home, it's not a bad salary because you're not missing it to be like, oh fuck, I gotta go work, man. I should go work in the government. Hey, but I don't want to work for the government.
SPEAKER_02I mean, they pay they pay three months later. I like private sector. They pay on time.
SPEAKER_08Some no, but that's that's really, really, really wild. It is, it's fucked up. I understand. I hope it's also from a lot of them that go on how do you call this? Sick leave, like uh oh. But when they do, and yeah, two, four, five, six years.
SPEAKER_02Depression, and all this is true. I'm gonna make a we're gonna make a whole episode about this. We're gonna. I'm I'm down.
SPEAKER_08Y'all know I stayed.
SPEAKER_02Piss off some politicians.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, they're gonna hate us. They're gonna cancel this podcast. Go ahead. Y'all, if one of us end the winds up dead, y'all know who did it. Charlie dies first. No, he said it.
SPEAKER_02No, I think I'll go die first. Like in that production, Samil. Don't shoot the the editor. No, but it's it's it's wild. I hope it's not true. But if it is, like I said, we're gonna we're we'll do a little bit more like an episode about this. I feel like we know people that go when it's not informal show.
SPEAKER_08I mean, but we know also know people that that's their life. You just probably don't know that a that's their life, but if that's their life. Yeah, that's their life. Exactly that. They are noza. Exactly that. It's like okay, like because like life is really good for you, and they be having other jobs as well. So it's like, thanks for that job. You out, all right, cool. And they'll be like, okay, well, go bogo bear no a salary this bosot, but you're gonna be able to do it. Am I the only ones like mind blown by this? Fucking crazy. I'm I'm like speechless. I'm pretty sure you're not the only person, and I'm pretty sure somebody's gonna comment and give us the correct information. So we appreciate you in advance. Please do.
SPEAKER_02Or if you know someone, hey, man, cookie, be like along contact again. Full, full anonymous.
SPEAKER_08Or you can send us an email. That is the most anonymous one. Yeah, it's nobody sees that, it's just us.
SPEAKER_02No filter inparadise at gmail.com.
unknownEasy.
SPEAKER_02Send us that episode. God damn.
SPEAKER_08All right, is there anything else we want to cover? Um, the last thing I think we just had a touch base on, which is something that we talked about in the last episode, was uh we were talking about Nigel's episode. And we kind of mentioned something on the lines of everybody's saying that Nigel should have a better structure on what he's doing, how he's doing it. Like, they get the activism thing, but they don't understand like the structure behind it. He has no structure. So, one of the things that we talked about last week was it is up to bigger companies and corporations and people that know better to fall in line and be like, hey, Nigel, we see what you're doing, we understand the impact that you are fighting for for all of our own benefits, because it's for Aruba. So we see what you're doing, we see how you're doing it, and we see where you can do it better and get more out of what you're doing. So we want to help, we want to back you up. I think that's what he's missing. He's missing the rest of the community because I feel like there's a lot of people that can be like, oh, he's not doing that good, he's not doing that good, he should do this, he should do that.
SPEAKER_02But then but then my question is also, and I think I brought this up as well, is okay, you're very vocal about what you're what you stand for. But what exactly are you doing on paper? Because at the end of the day, it's policies. Are you writing a policy? Are you at least introducing to someone a policy like hey, no showcut, I'm gonna use an example. You know what I mean? So yelling on Facebook is great. Yelling on Instagram is great. Exposing everything is great. But if you want to expose, also present it's like it's like you want to cause all these problems. Or not sorry. That's the wrong way of saying it. Yeah. You want to highlight and bring up all these problems that are happening on the island, but at the same time, you're not proposing a solution of hey.
SPEAKER_08And that's where I feel like I feel like that's fucked up. Because so you're telling me he has to go in the sun, take, make all this content, do all these type of things, and then he has to also come back now and sit and make a whole plan all over it too? While everybody just also realizes all these type of things, they also want to go to the beach, they also see that the beaches are full, they also see the island's dirty. So what are you doing about it? Why are you not be like, hey Nigel, you know what? Fuck that. Um, I want to help you write this thing. Hey, Nigel, uh Carlos Gaimo, he could fix, he could help with with things. Why are they not falling in place and be like, hey, you know what, Nigel? We see what you're doing. You continue making the noise, we're gonna help you with this end of it. Saudi.
SPEAKER_02Little sidetrack. Carlos Gaimo, when we said when we sat with him and talked about like how he wants whole transparency, you see where money's going, you just see you just don't see the name. Now I know why people don't want that. Because now you see, they go to Lisa Hope, go to the niggabiano cobrando.
SPEAKER_08That's why they don't want that's why they don't want the rak sweats. I just I just have to click this shit. That's why they don't want the rak's with. That's why they're so against the rak's with who? Yeah, because they're gonna find out they were the ones telling us like nah, race was not good, we're gonna lose no autonomy, yada yada yada yada yar.
SPEAKER_02Meanwhile, it's it's basically like no, it's any normal business to go integrate yarking, too integrated, integrated say, pagabalasting. It's kind of the same thing, but in the government world, like, hey, there's a kubikulus konang, dangipe placa.
SPEAKER_08It's her business. That's just any proper business, you need your PL and all these good stuff. It is what it is, and I feel like that's kind of what like pisses me off like with Kerling, for instance. I saw she just had a she did a post and I was like, fine fucking Lee, she is finally breaking shit down for her people. Your people are slow. We we've we've said this to her in person. We've said this. You have to break it down step for step. And I feel like she finally started doing this. And I was like, I was reading the post and I was like, fuck, Kerling, finally, god damn. Yeah, and then she just pissed me all the way fucking off with that last part of the text where she was like, you know what? I think I'm gonna go live, but I'm not gonna do it from my kitchen because I have other things. I'm like, girl, why would you just had a whole fucking post going great all about you and educating your public? Yeah. And then here you go, make you made this complete post now about Aveline.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Why would you do that? This was solely about you, and you are the ones saying all the time you are representing for us as the new young professionals. You don't do old school politics, throwing words and all this good stuff. Why would you go in that fucking direction? Like it was, I was like, yes, she's finally fucking breaking this thing down for people to understand that it's not a bad thing. And then there she goes. I was like, Dad damn, man. This is what politics. Y'all just can't get my.
SPEAKER_02But sometimes you can't help it. I guess it rubs off on you. Like, I get it.
SPEAKER_08Nah, you but you then don't promote and saying that, hey, I'm not joining in with old school politics. Don't say that because that's why people believed in you. That's why people voted for you. Because you said you are over that shit. That we are over.
SPEAKER_02Listen, even on and probably even off camera, we've told them like, I mean. Sorry, I mean, not the by less. But if it was in English, it would have increased my chances of reading it. We also have very busy schedules and lives. Yeah, article A, meaning to be fully comprended. And vague. So like two minutes, two minute videos breaking down this paragraph. Like, let me break it down. But we just like it's like see, my kid is single apple and one to make a quarter, quantum apple area. Shit, huh? Like, break it down to a way where everybody can understand. So we've we say this to almost every politician. Nobody's doing it. Khalina kind of like write it, but like make video. Evelyn, yeah, she does it from her kitchen or anywhere she wants to. Dangi now goes in supermarkets and makes videos. Listen, they're making government seeing them. But one thing I don't agree with is like even with Dangue. Again, wasn't that the man of other ayahuasca? It takes time, just like losing weight. And this is where I feel like then my point is don't point fingers if you were in position to make it.
SPEAKER_08But then that's why our young professions start commenting these type of things. We can't just always be thinking like we're higher than the utmost and just be like, oh, okay, well, we're gonna talk about it in faces, but where it actually matters, we're not calling these people out. Dangue, I you you should have commented on that shit and be like, now Dangue, you know damn well this correlation makes no sense. But what do we always do? We just scroll past it, we see it, we might screenshot it, we might talk about it in the group chat, and then that is the end of that conversation. Yeah, we're not helping as a community. The same thing I'm saying with like the whole Nigel situation. We have to jump in and help wherever we can because it's not his fight, it is our fight. He's not fighting for Nigel Maduru, he's fighting for Aruba, which is something we all benefit from. We all live here, we all benefit from every single thing that this island has to offer for it. So, what are we doing? Are we really requiring Nigel to just handle all of this on his own? Be like, nah, you have to have the plan, you have to have the solution, you have to have the this, you have to have the matrix.
SPEAKER_02That's crazy. It's hard for just one person, and then it's hard because it's also financially, it's it it come with a beba. Like, but they go make a living. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08That's crazy. That is crazy. Corporations, I feel like everybody that knows better should do better and join in with him. That's how I feel.
SPEAKER_02You know what I'm thinking we should bring on next? Um, I just saw a video about him today. I want to bring both of them, Pun Song and Saladin. You know Pun Song? But like he's very vocal. Like he um kunya of unya, like comerciantes, whatever it's called. They're business people. Like, Dalbay, he's he's a salario. But we don't need producto. Because I still have to pay my taxes, I still have to pay this, I still have to pay that. It's like literally business one on. If you tell me my camera's gonna cost more, guess what, client in? I'm gonna have to charge you more. That's gonna have to cover my cost. I even my podcast services, I I did it. I one of my first clients said, Hey, I gave you a deal for like three, four seasons. It's nice. I have to up the price. Send me a line up with the cost, they went for a cheaper, like, go for it. But I have to increase my prices. Taxes are not being a thing, not being a thing, meeting editor on the team. These things cost money. But I think we should definitely bring them on the show just to have a little bit of a feeling of from from the private sector, like how they think. Because now we hear Tisa, Nigel, we're probably gonna bring Reniale back at some point, bring the comerciante. So, and then we we can go back to maybe we can have a uh another season where we're like we bring two politicians. We talked about this, like we even brought them on. Hey, dangis, we're under danger, but we see the junto to do what we say see. Let's do it.
SPEAKER_08I'm honestly over sitting with the politicians.
SPEAKER_02No, no, I know, but like some something like that. I can we can hold people accountable.
SPEAKER_08No, I I I get that. I just feel like I really want to highlight newer faces. I feel like we keep talking to the same fucking people telling us the same bullshit every fucking time. I'm so over talking to all of these big names. I want to talk to the parliamentarians and I want to see, like, hey, yo, what's going on? What is this experience like for you? How have you been dealing with this? How do y'all place in the votes? We vote for parliament, we don't vote for ministers. So y'all are here because of us. What are you doing? How are you holding the government accountable? Like, based off of what? So I feel like that's to me, that's an interesting perspective that I would before I sit with politicians again, like the main ministers, I would like to sit with a parliamentario now, get their perspective. So now I feel like I have like a more round of edge to my questioning for the government now. Because now I understand like how inside works, inside to inside.
SPEAKER_02Opposition versus as long as it's kind of it's kind of like tough because like un parliamentary, the AVP, they got pe bong over the ministry and the AVP. Same goes for Futura.
SPEAKER_08I'm not gonna ask you an AVP question, I'm asking you a question based off of your fucking job. Yeah, tell me, tell me about your job. Like, what do you do on a daily basis? Because the parliamentary they have to work, yeah. So, what is that like?
SPEAKER_02How do you hold chong and all these guys that say the same thing? Hey, Samila Hopi Temple, got so much free time, chilling.
SPEAKER_08So that's why I really want to know that perspective. So then it's like, okay, I know how it is, how the the how mentally how people outside think that's the public. I know how the ministers talk because we talk to them, but y'all new motherfuckers. I want to know y'all, because I feel like they're gonna also come in very much more hungry and they're gonna give way more sharper perspectives. I hope. I do feel that way. I hope. I do feel that way because they're they're I don't want to call them naive, but they're new to the system. Some of them, all of them. No, that I know that, but I'm saying opposition to like Averly and all these guys, like yeah, but I'm not talking about those motherfuckers. I'm talking about the new ones for the first time. That's who I'm talking about. Like, what's what's that girl? Ruth Lin Lindor, Stephanie Zivinger. Yeah, talk to them. Like Baba, he wouldn't come, but all of like faces that we don't normally talk to, those are who I want to talk to. I don't want to fuck talk to these fucking old ass heads. Like they're saying the same shit every time. Like, shut the fuck up.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I remember I'm so sick of that. I remember Daur sitting there.
SPEAKER_08Like, they just stay lying in our motherfucking faces.
What We Need From Listeners
SPEAKER_02Obama, relax. Anyways, I feel like we've all been like a little rent. But uh, guys, I think we're gonna end it here. Yeah, um, let us know. Getting paid even though they're not working. Please take on the information, we can't pop you out. Again, we can have a whole conversation with somebody anonymously, take notes as long as it's from a legit source, and then we can talk about it. Yeah, we can tell you guys what this person told us. But similar number. And then whatever we say, fight our case. And then we can go back and forth.
SPEAKER_08That and so that's pretty much it. Guys, we didn't go over the comments this week from last week's comments, but we're gonna do that the next episode. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Alright, we'll see you guys next week. Peace. Ayo the call.
