The Aruba Debate Nobody Can Ignore Right Now | EP 250
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A conversation about rocks blocking UTV routes turns into a much larger discussion about Aruba's future.
We unpack the growing controversy surrounding off-roading, tourism, conservation, and public access, while also exploring the frustrations many locals feel around housing affordability, Airbnb growth, development incentives, and decision-making on the island.
Beyond the headlines, we talk about authenticity, social media, workload overload, priorities, and the challenge of balancing ambition with peace of mind. We also break down how different mindsets and personalities can be useful depending on the situation, and why sometimes growth comes from removing commitments rather than adding more.
Topics include:
• Aruba's UTV controversy
• Public access and conservation
• Housing affordability
• Airbnb and real estate pressure
• Tourism growth
• Authenticity and content creation
• Burnout and boundaries
• Focus, priorities and personal growth

SPEAKER_01And I think, and that to me is where the conversation steps in, to where it's like, we're not mad at nobody, we're not trying to knock nobody's house. No, of course not.
SPEAKER_00Do your big one. I'm just happy somebody finally got UTV or like a good person. Came and like speak up and came with receipts and said certain things that even called up Atta. I'm like, oh shit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. Came with a picture. I don't know. Ever since Jimmy came on, and I did see people having the conversation on Ruba being like extremist. Like everything needs to be like to the extreme. Like it's insane out of control of the bike. Nah, just take the currency, put it dollars out. Somebody was also commenting, like, yeah, but like then y'all should do it on your own.
SPEAKER_00Like issue is not the fucking price. Well, the price is the issue. You don't care to sell to locals, you only care to sell to international people.
SPEAKER_01I think it's a conversation hard because locals just can't get housing. Have a lot of students coming back. There's a lot of people from Holland that are very much over it.
Previewing Upcoming Guest Conversations
SPEAKER_01Hey yo, what's up? Ala, Kemistes. I didn't change my shirt.
SPEAKER_00They won't even know a shirt. It's like at weeks apart. Are they? This comes out tomorrow. Guys, you just recorded with Tarik. Tatik comes out like two or three weeks. Oh, okay. Sorry. But now they know. Yeah. Now you know, guys. The magic of editing. Oh, what? We never recorded with Tadik. Actually, we're recording with him in two weeks. Anyways, that was a good episode, by the way, guys. It really was. It's a little we're hungry, it's ordered food, but oh yeah. It's that episode was definitely a refresher.
SPEAKER_01It needed to happen.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, not just that. It's like I saw a different side of Tariq. That his human side, you always see Tarek like, hey, what's our show? Yeah. Bolochi, bumbinum bia mass. Like you see that part, but Tarik, like he we talk about family. We talk about, you know, he was honest, like on certain topics. We talk about his MC and gig, people who looked up to, things he learned from Rubén Garcia. It was a bong fucking episode. Like even when we were finished recording, my big side, but like, hey, that was a really good fucking episode.
SPEAKER_01And this is something I tell Tarek all the time. I'm like, listen, this version of him is what people don't get to see. And I used to tell Moro the same thing. It's like, people need to see your real side. The polish is cute. It's like sponsors want to join into that. But the real is where the people are. That's where the people that really fuck with you, they're like in the long shit. Like, I didn't know all of that.
SPEAKER_00Like, so that's a really good one. But you know, the thing is, that's your gift. You, Shark, is you're just you. And you just put yourself out there. Not everybody can want to. I understand that. Everybody wants to put their business, like, even my me, myself. On camera, yes. I off-camera, similar personalities, but there's some things that I just don't show in the crowd. You know, what I don't you don't see me post on social media. You saw you see the polished things of me on social media. So you don't see me. You barely post.
SPEAKER_01Like, you're even worse. Static is as if you post, you don't even post.
SPEAKER_00So like if you if I ever post, it's already no filter related or it's a wedding related.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, you don't even you don't even count for this conversation because you don't
Choosing Authenticity Over Polished Posts
SPEAKER_01even polish.
SPEAKER_00But but the reason why you're bringing it up is because sorry, it's just a comment came in from one of the no filter eats uh video, which is the guy was like, Man, you guys are fucking awesome. I see you guys sweating because it was the hot sauce video.
SPEAKER_01Fuck that sauce.
SPEAKER_00But um, no, it's because I don't want to put my, you know, I sometimes have the thought of like, ah, do I really want to put that personal stuff out there? Or like you've seen sides of me that like a lot of people even my own family haven't seen, you know, like crying or like going through shit. But I've been debating more and more as to what I want to start posting again because the going back like to the house, that has consumed so much of the last two years of my life that I just come became a completely different person to a pro to a point where like I don't even like fully recognize myself. That's growth. It is like even think about like when I when I used to vlog, guys. I uh look at uh Sam from Aruba on YouTube if I ain't putting vlogs at Eva. Like I used to make vlogs and like even I look at that character character and I'm like I don't even recognize that person because I've been through so much emotional shit, but like now I'm starting to like think about what what do I want to be not known for, but like what do I want to put out there that people want to consume? Or maybe I don't maybe I shouldn't think about it that much and just post and people will just resonate with like like when we talk about my house, the shit that I went through when like the the we finally could talk about the house. I got a lot of people messaging me like Fox Emil, I'm going through the same shit. Hey, Samil, who was the contract? Because I never mentioned the contractor, so they text me who was the I and DMs like hey, is this the guy? Don't fucking work with this guy, or I recommend other people, etc. etc.
SPEAKER_01But that's what I'd be saying. It's like so many people are people looked, people look to to people for relatability. Yeah, it's your authentic self could never lose. That is that is the one thing that we have that would be wrong with it. Yeah, it is your authentic self. So if that's how you feel, you gotta own 1000% of that how you feel. If you like these fucking Lego weird things, that's what the fuck you like. You gotta own that shit. You think you somebody gonna make me back down from saying that I love Nicki Minaj or Rihanna? Absolutely not. That's just how I feel. And I that's and I feel like that same thing applies to the gift of working on social media. Is I don't share all of my personal life. It may seem that way because I just share the stupid shit that is stupid shit. It's things that you're you're saying that you're not comfortable sharing certain things online, but then you come on a podcast and still share these things. So it's kind of like what are you running from?
SPEAKER_00Well, but with the podcast, it's more it's not as deep. I don't go as deep as like the podcast is the podcast, but like for example, like I do a lot of other shit besides the podcast. Like to give everybody an idea, yes, podcast one. This studio is another thing, Arosa is not a thing, content project is not a thing. People don't see none of that. I know what I'm saying. But that's why I want to start documenting that. I want to start documenting all the things that I'm doing. What is that? Now, I don't know, time or like another thing that I have to like add to my list of like, okay, I gotta keep track of now. I gotta post content, or I gotta cut back on a few things and again, okay, focus on the that's exactly what it is.
SPEAKER_01You have to cut down on a few things, yeah.
SPEAKER_00You can't add more things to your fucking busy plate. Like adding content is is another thing because I have to treat myself as exactly.
SPEAKER_01You gotta cut some shit
Cutting Commitments To Make Room
SPEAKER_01first, yeah. Just like I wanted to move on with my life. I had to cut the store, I had to cut certain things because was that hard for you? Um I know you're putting a lot of fucking time and effort and like for sure, but and I talked about this at the Orange Economy when we we did the U Inc. This is one of the conversation that I talked about, because you have to just be fucking honest, is like that was one of the best setbacks I've ever had in my life. Because it just taught me so much. It was like, hey, listen, and I remember um Omar Steve and Tracy, they once told me we were at somewhere, and they said, like, sometimes you do something, but that thing will not work out, and other people would wouldn't understand that. It's not for them to understand, but because that thing didn't work out, it always segues you into something new that you probably never would have thought about. And that shit resonated so much with me in that time because this was the moment where I still had the store, and then I went to Kira when I came back and I was like, mm-mm. Gots to go wrap it up. Like, especially once I once I got to know Ash, I feel like Ashton Lopez, like you still talk to him? Hell yes! What are you crazy? I cannot live without Ash. Like, I am this calm because of him.
SPEAKER_00No shit.
SPEAKER_01That nigga.
SPEAKER_00I feel like I feel like we have to have a conversation with him.
SPEAKER_01We made a vision board for like the next few years. We did you did tell me this. Oh my god. The amount of peace. And one of the conversations that he told me, he was like, listen, you're gonna, in order for you to do good things, you have to decide what is one thing that you want to do. You're gonna have to let other things go. Like, because they're not, they don't give you the value of where you want to go in life. You know where that's why the vision board, you know what you want to accomplish, you know where you want to go. Do these things align with where you're going? No, then you gotta go. You got stuck. Yeah, and once I put that practicum, I had the time to like really let that sink in and I could like apply that. I was like, oh hell nah. Rent only was like 1500. Hell no. Do you know what that is? 1500 in my pocket just for me to just okay.
SPEAKER_00We can invest something else.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I can invest in everything that's on my fucking vision board. That's what that is. Because I'm not investing in random shit. I have a I know I know where I'm going. I understand what are things that are priorities and what are things that are like the car. That's one that's something that I'm working on. But I understand as well that the car is not my end goal. It's not the thing that's gonna make me be like, I'm gonna compete. It's like a thing.
SPEAKER_00Like, if you got it, like, oh, I got it, cool. But it's not like the end all be all.
SPEAKER_01It is absolutely not. I do not mind taking a bus. Because that's what I used to do after school. Like, I like I feel like we like we get so, especially like on the island, we get so caught up in so many of these smaller, stupid shit. It's like, mmm, this ain't it. Yeah. So closing the store is one of the best things I could have done. It led me to so many different opportunities that I probably wouldn't have the time to do.
SPEAKER_00I definitely dig a page. I feel like I should talk to fucking Ash. Listen. You're gonna have him on the show, actually. It just didn't work out. When is he back?
SPEAKER_01I love Ash. When is he back? Ash, I love you. Um, I'm not sure. I'm not sure when he's back. Well, he's in Holland. He is in Holland.
SPEAKER_00So if he's not coming here, we're coming to you. I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna ask when he's coming, though. Because it's not the first time. Maybe I don't know if you've mentioned him on a show before, but this is the first time you've this is not the first time you've mentioned him to me. Yeah, maybe it is the first time on the show.
SPEAKER_01I think we talked about him maybe once before, but like in depth. I don't really tell a lot of people what he do what he does for me, like what our relationship is.
SPEAKER_00But I don't know what he does. I all I know I've known him for a long time since we were younger. Or he was I mean he wrote a book.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he does like he he helps like companies like you know, fix like hey yo, what what are your your LSOPs? Let's make the procedures even quicker. Let like this whole thing with that that he made like a whole um he like the you know dip changed the the website now that you can do file your taxes online and yada yada yada and the web the portal now and all that good stuff. Yeah. He just made like a design. You have to follow him on LinkedIn. He just made a design where it was like, oh, okay, well, this is how we can up the ante for everybody in the Caribbean or everybody in Aruba to be able to use this platform and get the most out of the platform. This guy's really fucking smart, man. Like the government should reach out to Ashton. I'm to Ashton Lopez.
SPEAKER_00Give him a good contract so he can come back.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, for real. Like he's he if he lives here, oh trust, y'all not even fucking with me no more.
SPEAKER_00Not even me.
SPEAKER_01No, because he knows what which which pillars are my priorities. So yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's something I'm currently going through right now. It's um actually under my notes book is over there. I just like I wrote down like what are all my incomes and what are all my expenses, and then go sit there and just like pros and cons. Pros and cons on everything, run it through Claude to give me some other like thoughts that I can't think about, and uh just go from there. It's like it's it's I I do have to like figure out and debate or not debate, fig figure out what it is I really want to make my what are my three pillars, you know.
Shark And Alison Two Fuels
SPEAKER_00This is definitely one of them.
SPEAKER_01Okay, because you're talking about finances now, yeah. And the thing is with like what what Ash did with me was like the full spectrum of Shark and Alison. Yeah, because the two of them need they feed off each other. So who's Alison? Alison is actually to me, that is the professional side of me, that is the calmer side of me, that is the loving side of me, that is the one that likes to spend time with family, and that's something Ash taught me was like that person needs to get their fulfillment. Shark is the entertainer, shark likes the hype, shark likes attention, shark is that motherfucker, shark needs to get his respective whatever feeds him. You know what's finished, and you have to both of these characters have to get their their food. So I have to understand what are moments that Shark needs to calm the fuck down so Allison can shine, and then there's also moments where Allison has to back down because Shark is not a family-oriented person. That's what I get from Alison.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So when I'm with my family, I'm sorry. There's nothing, I don't give a fuck who can call. Minister Pris Dan can call. I don't give a fuck. I'm with my family right now. I don't give a fuck. Fuck all of y'all. But if I understand it's something, and that's why I always tell you, I'm like, if it's phone nor filter, I don't mind because I set the mind already that it's work. That is shark. Shark steps in at that moment. My family knows don't contact me. Once I'm working, do not contact me. If I'm traveling, I'm traveling. What the fuck do you want from me? I can't do nothing for you abroad right now. Don't bother me. I am in work mode right now. Shark is activated.
SPEAKER_00I feel like that's that's the sp that's the space that I need to be in right now. Or at least I'm I'm getting to that point now. But you know what's funny you say there's shark as Allison, but it's like yet they're different people, but yet they're the same people. It's like but they have different fuels. No, yeah, because I'm thinking about people who are watching the show, like, oh, just Shark Kai, Defending Shark Debbie Showcoming. No, it's it's actually the same person, but it's just like it's the same, but it's not. It's not, I don't know how to explain it. Like it just doesn't, you know.
SPEAKER_01I feel like how I explain this to other people sometimes, it's like you have your professional version, yeah, which goes to work and punches in and clocks in, and you have rules and regulations that you have to live to, and then you have your personal self, which is you probably work in finances, but your your personal loves to fucking bake. Yeah. You have that. I know we like to say balance does not exist because it really kind of doesn't, but you still kind of have to find that balance where each of them gets it's like what people say in like in marriages. Sometimes you're gonna give 80% and your partner has to give that 20%. Well, internally, that's what that is. They are partners, and it's got each of them need they fuel so you are this 100% that can function.
SPEAKER_00It's like in the morning, like Alison needs the beach every single morning, chill, relax before shanks, before sharks, before shark punches in exactly like 11 a.m. All right, let's get to work.
SPEAKER_01You want the best version of shark? Let me do me. Let Alison do him, and then the rest of the world, y'all can probe a chat from shark.
SPEAKER_00Alison I'm like, wait, so there then there's me, there's Sam, and there's Samil. I don't know. Deadass. I I don't know what the difference is. To be honest, I don't. Well, you do, but maybe that's something maybe that's something I have to go and literally as I'm thinking about this now. I'm like, huh, maybe I should get a therapist, but uh maybe I just need Ash. Hey, Ash, text me.
SPEAKER_01That or a coach, you can't want to take my people. Okay, nah, y'all. Let's start gatekeeping. Yeah, hell yeah. No, listen, I always say you never gatekeeper. I will gatekeep Ash.
SPEAKER_00Well, too bad, have his number two.
SPEAKER_01Um I'm gonna text him right now. I will gatekeep Ash. I'm sorry. Like government, y'all could look for him for his professional work. Okay, flourish Lopez.
SPEAKER_00Thanks.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, I can't find him. I could have no, you can contact him on his professional page. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00No, but it's it's it's yeah. It's it's it's I'm learning a lot when you have too much on your plate, it could affect like it it spills over into different parts of your life, and then it could really fuck things up.
SPEAKER_01Here's it. We flourish global on this page. Yeah, stupid. Empowering growth, knowledge, coaching, and actionable insights. We we what we flourish? We flourish. We dot flourish.glob.
Quick Sponsor Break
SPEAKER_01Let me look at my tropical bottle and carry out and purchase two cases of balashi or chill and receive your red card or yellow card. Visit any of the participating bars on the list and hand in your red card or yellow card and receive one balashi or chill bucket completely free.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's like he needs to post more videos.
SPEAKER_01I told them the same thing. I was like, I I need more content.
SPEAKER_00Social media guy over here who does social media for other people. Yeah, but that's not his strong point. It doesn't matter. You start somewhere.
SPEAKER_01Understandable.
SPEAKER_00That's why I told him. My strong point isn't making a fucking vision board.
SPEAKER_01I told him the same thing.
SPEAKER_00He even told me like what two days ago? Yeah. To me, I'm coming over to your house and I'm gonna build a vision board.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna help you. We're gonna do it the Ashway. Yeah, yeah, that us. Cause I'm sick of you. I know. I'm sick of your ass. Perr. But all in all, listen, for real, for real.
UTV Backlash And Trail Closures
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Anyway, so I don't know how we got through this conversation, but we spoke about Tadik. Great conversation. Comes out in about two weeks. Um, other body tadicing out the walk. I miss seeing but it goes like, oh shit, they know that about you. Um, and then we have an interesting episode coming out this this Thursday. Uh, which is funny because that same guest texted us today. This is about UTVs.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Jimmy texted us.
SPEAKER_00Shout out to the gymster Jimmy Douglas. He texted me this morning. So I know a lot of people have hate against UTVs, and I per se don't have any, but I do understand the concern and and the issue they're addressing or mentioning.
SPEAKER_01I was low key on the team hate side. I'm not gonna lie. Y'all, I'm all my shit. I was on fuck them UTVs, like y'all doing too much. But I feel like it was miss not miss um less, not enough knowledge.
SPEAKER_00Misinterpreted that you're looking at.
SPEAKER_01No, I feel like it was like not enough um knowledge about it.
SPEAKER_00There's a lot of context missing as to what's happening. We all we saw everybody from their side of the story, the ones who are because it's it's the train to jump on, like, ah, no, I get it. And I I agree it is bad, but there is a solution for it, and Jamie brought solutions to like the problem. But again, today he sent me a picture that um they're putting rocks and Tesla no camina, like you saw by Tresrapi, which I I do like that part. Tres strapi is good, and they sealed like say from Tres Trapi all the way to the lighthouse. So all those roads that you can take to start driving behind the lighthouse to go to um to go off-roading, they closed it all with the rocks, and now they're people are obviously he had to highlight in between, and now I don't know if it's day away or which by the way, day away, whoever is in charge, you should come on the show as well and talk about some stuff. But uh they're closing even more. He sent me a picture. Where the fuck is it?
SPEAKER_01I think that uh like now that I I got the side of Jimmy, I feel like it is extremely disrespectful. And when you think about it on a larger scale, so the palm and atta and all these people are investing a lot of money to promote these things abroad, that this is services that we provide, and then now it's like well, not no more. Yeah, you know, somebody just randomly decided to just close these things off. So now, how are these companies doing their tours?
SPEAKER_00Now, and again, you'll see this everything in Thursday's episode. And apparently, you said this one person, this person actually Greg Peterson's uh the Aruba bird, bird life conservation that guy. Apparently, he's the one pulling these strings. Now, again, this is more Jimmy brought receipts, so we're speaking to you about things that we've already spoken about with Jimmy, so it's not like we're taking shit out of our ass and be like, hey, I have the information, as a business under Zook, but it's funny because I bumped into someone recently who gave me a little bit of information that apparently these rocks being set is done by a specific person. And apparently, allegedly, not even the government is. Aware that these are being done because when they started doing it, they filed a complaint against an NGO or an organization on Aruba saying, like, hey, why are you guys doing this? And they're like, I don't know what you're talking about. We have nothing to do with this. So somebody is pulling strings, and I don't know if it's day away or dip, guys. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know. Um, but I need something person who apparently is this guy, Greg, is making all these moves and putting rocks everywhere, blocking out all these UTV stuff.
SPEAKER_01But then then my my question is, and I even asked this when Jimmy was here was who is giving this guy this amount of ammo? Because how is it possible that gobierno mess no sa cuboso the base of Sirando Camina?
SPEAKER_00Somebody else outside told me that.
SPEAKER_01Okay, because the government part. So if either way, you again, I cannot decide I'm gonna put rocks and close off a road so my neighbors can't come in my my in our street anymore. Who is giving somebody this ammunition to be able to close down public spaces? Like true, this is kind of crazy. Like, you can't just do that.
SPEAKER_00Like let's take it further. If you if you want to close the roads and everything, don't just be like, we're only gonna do UTVs. How about all the boats on the beat on the beach? All the jet skis, all the boats, all the gasoline, all the oil going into the water, dropping all the the boats, killing all the turtles.
SPEAKER_01We were talking about cancel culture today. Now you're trying to get us canceled. No, no, no, no, no. But I'm not bad. Yeah, no, I love it.
SPEAKER_00Um by the way, I'm not pro for that. Make it very fucking clear. Because I'm like, okay, if you have an agenda, protect the birds. Cool, but so you don't care about fish? Be consistent with it all around the border. Exactly. So fine, go. But you know, but when they booyo took a minida. Oh, you want to go jet ski? You have to go like 10 kilometer low. But that's risky. Yeah, but that's all we can do for you. It's like, but I just I just want to know. Like, we don't have proof. I mean, he brought some receipts of allegedly like tackling one person. I don't know if I want to know, like, somewhere if there's a signature of him, if was it true that that if it's him doing it or not? If it is, I'm like, how do you have so much power to make a move? Then even the government is like, yeah, what the fuck is going on?
SPEAKER_01And God, but like a whole backup team to do it with him, too. It's not like he's like going out with his own like personal pickup truck and putting these rocks.
SPEAKER_00Like, yeah, now again, we are pulling this guy on blast of Wokantiki.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but we also invited him to come on the show. Like, we're this is a public invitation. Like, come on, defend yourself if you need to. Y'all know we don't reach out to people like that. So if you want to come on, y'all tag him, let him see this, and then you know, yeah, Mr. Peterson.
SPEAKER_00It is crazy for me.
SPEAKER_01Like, but I did, I did, like, I don't know. Ever since Jimmy came on, I feel like now I keep seeing stuff like on, and I did see people having the conversation on Aruba being like extremist, like everything needs to be like to
Aruba Housing Costs And Airbnb Pressure
SPEAKER_01the extreme. Like, and I I think I saw this with a comment, I think it was on the Airbnb cases. I think they were also back on that. Like, listen, these vacation rentals, or I think they were talking about the um real estate agents.
SPEAKER_00What about them?
SPEAKER_01They're renting houses like super expensive. I think somebody's just posted like recent um somebody was like doing a house for like 4K a month. I think it's like dollars. Florence. I think it was like 2K dollars. I think it was like about 4K, but it was like a one bedroom.
SPEAKER_00And I don't know, like man, it's it's crazy. Really, like real estate agents, friends, but it's insane out of control. Cool. Nah, just change your currency, put it dollars now. It's like I don't even know.
SPEAKER_01And the thing is, like, I I think because somebody was also commenting, like, yeah, but like then y'all should do it on your own. And on your own. Like, you do it and see what price you're gonna come out to for because I think if you once you're in that that field, prices went up.
SPEAKER_00So once you're in that field, sorry, my issue is not the fucking price. Well, the price is the issue. The thing is, the price is the price because you don't care to sell to locals, you only care to sell to international people. Because why? Because all you care about is what's my five, 10% cut commission. That's uh bro, I don't care. You're if you're a salesperson at the end, I'm doing it for the goodness of my heart. No, you're not, you're doing it for the fucking check. And the easiest way to get a big check is by selling it to an American, a Canadian, or somebody in fucking Europe. Mostly, it's mostly Americans and Canadians, but that's what you're doing it for. Now, now all of them, some of their are selling it to locals because they're like little fish. Hey, okay, my setting fucking I got a little 10,000 florins over here this month. That's cool. But I could have gotten $20,000 if I closed it. Yeah, but because that's like the mesa. But I I believe most, most really, not all most, just do it for selling it to Americans. I don't think they they care to sell it to locals because fucking locals can't even afford a house anymore.
SPEAKER_01And I think, and that to me is where the conversation steps in, to where it's like we're not mad at nobody, we're not trying to knock nobody's hospital. No, of course not. Do your big one. I think it's a conversation this hard because locals just can't get housing. Like, we have a lot of students coming back. There's a lot of people from Holland that are very much over it, like they are done with Holland. It's not what it used to be. And it makes no sense for you to leave your island where you're you have you're comfortable to go to a whole other country where you're just struggling every month. Yeah. What is the sense of that? So a lot of them are coming back, but it's like, where are we coming back to? We're coming back to an island where all of the houses are basically Airbnbs, or they're getting sold or rented out to Americans or I mean or people from abroad, like tourists or whatever. Yeah. Because they can actually afford it, or the little locals that actually can't afford something. Because you have to also remember students are coming back, but they're students, they're past students, so they're not coming back with like big ass salaries, like, ah no. I'm similar. You're coming from where you were making big bank, probably, but now you're coming back to making Florence. Yeah. Everything changes. It's uh huge. It's huge.
SPEAKER_00Tori went through that. It's insane.
SPEAKER_01So it's not like a lot of things that you have to keep into consideration for the fucking locals. And I think that's why it you're seeing this type of like outrage now, which I love. I think it's needed. I hope that the locals could go even further with stuff like this because regulations need to start
Practical Fixes Accountability And Rangers
SPEAKER_01falling in place. Just have a fucking task. Holding these government accountable.
SPEAKER_00Let's say I and we spoke about this with Jimmy. And I think with Tyson as well, the the AFC, ACF, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Urban Conservation Foundation.
SPEAKER_00I keep fucking it up. Find some subsidies, some somewhere, government help, I don't know. And get more like rangers. Like act put in putting copia, handle the fuck, putin asphalt, handle bullshit. And then what you're putting at us. Have them like a fuck kind of doom buggy with fucking cere in the for the cops. And then like, hey, excuse me, why are you doing the way? Fine. Let them just chill back there. Let them be the cops in the like in the the back side and then create Jimmy came out a great solution. Create and that solution was built by somebody that works at Dip or Day Away.
SPEAKER_01What what the company that we see on Palm Beach, the the cops on the bike, are they from the government or are they like they're not real cops, no?
SPEAKER_00I I don't know. Like when you go around like this, yeah, there's no bicycles and palm beach area.
SPEAKER_01Because I was saying maybe even like hire, maybe extend that company if they're from the government already, extend that company and then put hire more people that you can put in where you're saying, like, you know, then they for the streets and then the those other ones for the park. Yeah, but then build that build like a very small small station.
SPEAKER_00God damn, but it needs to be from wood. Okay, something that, but like there's AC, so they can have people rotating in there.
SPEAKER_01You need no AC in the back there. You understand what I'm talking about anyways. You need no AC in the back there. It's nature over fighting. What do you need AC for?
SPEAKER_00Fine. Point is the point is have rangers back there to keep eyes on people that are doing UTV tours, people who want to do solo trips, although Jimmy was is kind of against it. I want people to understand that whatever I'm saying right now is a fucking fraction of that conversation because it was almost a we're gonna put a pin in it, we're gonna put a pin in it, and then we're gonna have this conversation after that that episode airs.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Because I feel like then it could be a good thing. They can follow as well. Yeah, then they can follow as well.
SPEAKER_00Because right now it's like we know something that they don't know. Yeah, it's it's it's I'm just happy as somebody finally from the U TV or like a good person, yeah, came and like speak up and came up receipts and said certain things that even called out Atta.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, oh shit. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Came with a picture.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we're not gonna say two. Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop.
SPEAKER_00Let's just end it here. Let's wrap it up.
