Speaker 1:

Hi everyone and welcome back to another episode of Inspire to Rewire. I am your lovely host, sharona, and I would like to pick up where we left off on the previous episodes. I would like to go on a similar path here and talk about another trait that I think is very powerful to master, and I think it's the unseen power of discipline, because I think that this is the way for you to unlock your potential beyond your imagination. It's so sad, because discipline is a word that often gives people the image of strict rules and rigid routines and sacrifices, but in reality, discipline is actually one of the most powerful traits a person can possess, and it's a great characteristic that not many of us master. I know that we live in a world that is driven by instant gratification, where distractions are literally everywhere and, sadly, comfort is often prioritized. Discipline remains elusive for many, but it's the key to unlocking your potential and reaching heights you never even thought was possible.

Speaker 1:

I honestly believe that discipline is the foundation for success. You know, discipline is about making choice after choice that is aligned with your intentions. So in any given moment, you can literally make a choice that supports an intention, or you can make a choice that supports an old habit or a lack of intention or a fear. It's literally up to you. I think it's so important to make choices for yourself that supports the future that you want to create. You know most people. They dream of success, whether it's in their careers or relationships or personal goals. However, recognizing that discipline is the foundation upon which that success is built is not many that do or believe, because talent and luck, it plays a role in certain outcomes, for sure, but it's the discipline that will ensure consistent progress and growth over time. The honest truth is that discipline is what bridges the gap between where you are and where you want to be. It's the driving force that keeps you moving forward and even when motivation fades and obstacles arise or your journey seems difficult, discipline is what will allow you to do what's necessary, even when it's not easy or glamorous or even exciting. And that's what will separate you and those who dream. You understand what I mean. Like there's a difference between the achievers and the dreamers. So the achievers, they practice discipline daily. They practice responsibility, as we spoke on, you know the last time. Achievers and go-getters they have to practice discipline daily. They practice responsibility, as we spoke on, you know the last time. Achievers and go-getters. They have to practice discipline in whatever field it might be in their life or whatever aspect. That's the only way for you to get to where you want to go.

Speaker 1:

I see that discipline is hard for many to master and in today's world, mastering discipline is harder than ever before. I understand it. I get it Because we live in a time where immediate gratification is at our fingertips and from the endless scroll of social media to demand entertainment, we've been conditioned to expect quick rewards, and that's not really how life works now, is it? You know, if you want to build your body or shape your body differently, that takes time and you need to practice discipline and consistency over time for you to you know, shape your body or lose weight or whatever it might be for you. That takes time, it doesn't happen instantly, and you know this. Constant stimulation often trains our minds to avoid discomfort and we seek out the easiest path. I see this happening all the time, how people just want the quickest way or the fastest way. Or if you practice discipline in one aspect of your life, you will learn to practice it on more levels of your life, even if it means sacrificing.

Speaker 1:

Here is the thing and I tell people this people want to go places. You know people. People want change, but people don't want to change. Did you understand that people want change but they don't want to change? If you want change, you have to change. Nothing outside of you will create the change that you want inside of you. You have. It has to come from within you.

Speaker 1:

And since we are so like I spoke about, like I said, you know we live in a fast-paced world and what? Everything is easy and everything is supposed to go quick. We have become lazy as humans. Everything is literally in on our phones, in the fingertips of our hands. We can. It's crazy and we want to do things in the most easiest way possible all the time, and this actually means that we are sacrificing long term growth. There is no involvement in everything. You know when you are in struggles this is also like maybe a hard truth to accept, but when you are in challenges or when you are struggling or when you are doing the shadow work, that is actually when you grow the most. That's where growth lays.

Speaker 1:

You know people often run away from the things that they have to take ownership of or where you know where things where they need to master. People want to go the other way around, because it's just easier to just whatever. I give up. Wait, why are you giving up? Because the only person you're giving up on is yourself. The next project or the next thing you're going to try to conquer will not be easier. The more you practice discipline, the more you practice these traits, the easier it becomes. And you know, maybe the bigger of a challenge is you choose to approach.

Speaker 1:

Discipline requires you to do the opposite of what the majority of the population is doing. It requires you to delay gratification and it requires you to stay focused on your goals even when distractions are abundant. It demands consistency and effort, which aren't always fun or rewarding in the moment. But this is exactly why so few truly conquer discipline, because it asks you to prioritize long-term gains over short-term pleasures. In a world that emphasizes the here and the now, that is not actually an easy task. That's why I think it's such a great thing to understand and visualize what you want for yourself and understand what you want for your future, because the biggest motivation is you. You need to motivate yourself. Motivation is you. You need to motivate yourself. We can always get inspired by other people and motivated. But I think that the biggest carrot you can chase is yourself and you. You know the benefits that you seek for you.

Speaker 1:

There is such a magic that lays over being consistent with things, even no matter how boring they can be. Because this is the beauty of discipline it lies in its ability to compound over time. Every small action and every choice to stay disciplined adds up. It may not feel like a you know something significant is happening in the moment, but over weeks and months and years, the results can be extraordinary. Think, think of it like planting a seed. A single seed doesn't seem like much on its own right. It takes time and care and patience to actually see the results of the seed. But if you keep watering that seed, if you stay consistent and disciplined in your efforts, one day you will wake up to a flourishing garden because of all of the seeds that you planted over time and you just stayed consistent with them.

Speaker 1:

There are so many aspects of your life that you need to be disciplined with. It can be your health, your finances, your career, your goals. So the more discipline you practice within these aspects of your life, it will take you to places that you, you know, probably way better than you could ever have imagined Building a business or mastering a skill discipline is what allows you to show up consistently. And when you don't see immediate results because you won't always do that I can speak for that myself and say that it doesn't happen instantly. You know, if you look at all of the people who have succeeded in life or many of them and who speak about their journey, they speak about the failures and the lessons and how they went through a lot of challenges to get to where they are. It's not many stories that people got whatever overnight right, and I can promise you the person who stayed consistent and went through the challenges and never gave up on him or herself and practiced discipline over time, that person has learned a lot about him or herself and has become a different version of themselves just because they did that. I think that in the end, it's that consistency that leads you to breakthroughs you never thought was possible.

Speaker 1:

Discipline actually is freedom in a way. If you look at it from a broader perspective and you know it's an, I think that discipline and freedom is an unspected connection. I think it's easy to think of discipline as restrictive, a set of rules. That limits your freedom. But ironically, the opposite is actually true, because discipline is what gives you freedom to live the life that you truly want and desire. Without discipline, we often become slaves to our impulses, procrastinating or bad habits. We actually find ourselves stuck in cycles of inaction and we are unable to move towards our goals because we lack self-control to stay focused. But with discipline, we actually regain control of our choices. You will become free to pursue your dreams without being held back by distractions or short-term temptations, with practicing discipline. In its true essence, discipline creates freedom because it gives you mastery over your actions. It's the ultimate form of self-empowerment and it's going to allow you to consciously choose your path, rather than being led astray by momentary desires or external pressures.

Speaker 1:

So how do you start practicing discipline? Because mastering discipline isn't something that happens overnight. Right, it's a skill that requires patience and practice, self-awareness just as responsibility. But I'm 100% sure that, with commitment, anyone can cultivate it. So I think that you know you have to do the same thing here, as I said on the previous episode, with responsibility, with discipline. Start small. Discipline isn't about, you know, changing your whole life overnight. Start small with manageable actions that you can build on. Like here again, the compound effect Set achievable goals and focus on sticking to them, and stick to them consistently.

Speaker 1:

Achievable goals and focus on sticking to them and stick to them consistently it makes life easier for you. If you have a vision to where you want to go and you create like a roadmap and then you break that down, then you will actually move with intention. So and discipline is also you have to embrace discomfort, because discipline often requires doing things that aren't immediately enjoyable. So, whether it's waking up early or sticking to a workout plan or just saying no to distractions, whether it's your phone or friends or whatever it is, learn to embrace discomfort because over time, it's going to become easier to push through. I promise you I can say this from first-hand experience and stay focused on the bigger picture.

Speaker 1:

Here I would like to just suggest to do a vision board. You know, have something that motivates you to understand where you want to go. Look at it every day. See your vision for your future, because this will keep you on your path easier because, like I spoke before, you will move with intention and purpose because you know where you're going. So even when it gets tough, you will remind yourself of why you are doing it, why you started, and keep your long term goals in mind. Keep them at hand or keep them, you know, visible for you. Use them as motivation to stay disciplined in the present.

Speaker 1:

And one thing that happens to all of us. This just happens. It's the nature's way of life. Don't be too hard on yourself. This happens. Life doesn't always go the way you want it to go. You know what I mean, but just keep moving forward. No one is perfect and there will be days when you slip and when your discipline, you know, falters, and that's okay. The key is to actually not dwell on those moments, but to just get back on track as soon as possible and not be too hard on yourself.

Speaker 1:

And I think that you have to also understand that life is a balance of everything, because we all want to achieve great things right. We have these big visions for our lives and what we want to create, and that takes hard work, you know, on more levels and aspects than one in our life. So I think it's a great thing to practice as a balance within all of these things, tools that may be meditation, or have days where you just pause. You just have a day off from everything and you just focus on, you know, catering towards yourself. I don't know if that is a spa day or a self-care day. Whatever it is that works for you. Find balance within it and you know, don't be okay with it. Be okay with moments when you're not okay and be okay with listening to when you need to rest and not go through your to-do list. If today is a day, I just need to rest and I will get back on it tomorrow. Whatever you need to sit in, sit in it, but don't sit in it too long. Don't let that take over you.

Speaker 1:

I know that discipline will take you to unimaginable heights, because it's the most powerful thing about discipline it's that it takes you to places you couldn't even dream was possible. So, while others are giving up and getting distracted or chasing quick fixes, I know that those with discipline are steadily moving forward, with enough time and persistence, disciplined individuals often find themselves actually achieving goals they couldn't even have imagined when they first started. Discipline is a transformative power. I can say this for myself. You know, I see. You know we all have our relationships with friends and family members and partners or whatever it might be, and you know certain traits is not commonly practiced by people, and you know, when you start to practice certain things yourself, you will actually appreciate that a lot in other people when they practice it themselves, because you know how hard it is. You are so influenced by the people you spend time with and the people you're set and setting in your life will actually have a great effect on you and where you're going in life. I know I've said this before and I will say it again If you are around workers, you will think like a worker, unless you choose to break yourself free.

Speaker 1:

And you know, if you're around people that party all the time, you will probably be a person who parties all the time you are, you know your own way of breaking free from a lifestyle you don't want to live. Once you start to move differently, you will also appreciate to have a crowd around you that moves differently. Like-minded people or people who are ahead of you is a great thing to aspire to have. I feel sometimes that it's a thing that is not easy to always. It takes a lot from a person to have clarity within what they want to create for themselves and actually go after it, because this is not, once again, something that a lot of the structures of the world are put up in the way where you are comfortable.

Speaker 1:

And now, with everything that is going on, you know there's so many things that you know people are just in their comfort zones and they choose to stay there. And you know there are just in their comfort zones and they choose to stay there. And you know there are a few people that want more. They just want more for themselves and they're willing to, you know, do whatever they need to do to just get more in every aspect of life. I am literally one of them. I know I want more because I deserve more and I feel it in my core. I want to experience more, I want to do more, I want to live more and move more with purpose and intention. But you know, the only one who can drive me to the places I want is myself, and sometimes I have people around me that is not always thinking like me or moving like me, and I would lie if I say that it doesn't sometimes affect me, because it does. In those situations I just need to understand where I am at versus where people are at, and you know respect where everyone is at. You know as people need to respect where I am at. But you, man, your life is for you and you are here to create whatever you want to create. So I hope that you, you know, have this little fire within you to just create the life that you want for you when you practice discipline and master it, and same with responsibility.

Speaker 1:

Discipline isn't only about hard work. It's about unlocking doors to opportunities for growth and success. It wouldn't be possible otherwise without discipline. But when you develop the ability to stay disciplined and stay consistent, to taking actions even when it's hard here is where you grow, because even when it's hard, you'll do it you will find that you are capable of far more than you ever ever thought was possible. Discipline is the key to unlocking your potential, your fullest potential. We live in a world full of distractions and quick fixes. Discipline is rare, but it's also priceless. It's the quiet, steady force that will drive you towards your goals and have you pushing beyond what you think is possible. It's not easy to master, I know, but once you do, it has the power to take you to heights you couldn't even bear to imagine.

Speaker 1:

I love discipline, I love it, I love it, I love it.

Speaker 1:

And I want you to ask yourself what would your life look like if you mastered discipline? What could you achieve if you stayed focused and consistent and committed to your goals? The answer lies in your willingness to embrace discipline as a daily practice and to trust that rewards will be beyond anything you could ever dreamed of. Practice discipline for you, my dear, because discipline is a great, powerful trait. I can't stress this enough. I love discipline. I hope that this episode has inspired you to practice more discipline in your life, for yourself, to set intentions and goals for your life.
