Yo, yo, yo, you think you the shit, you ain't even a fart. That's our first comment on the Instagram live. Welcome to Spar Unboxing Podcast. Technical difficulties as always, as usual. Willie M. Poomer. Dude, I know Rudy. You think you the shit, you ain't even a fart. Starting the show off with that. Thank you. Thank you very much. Oh, a little bit of a pack show today. A little bit of a pack show. Not really. One one major card to preview. We got Zofa boxing on in the background. FAA Jagba is fighting. Wait, what? Over here. Sorry. This background. What up, Willie?
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's fire. What?
Card Overview And Broadcast Notes
SPEAKER_02Oh, it just paused too. Great. Man, technical difficulties. New year, no producer. What's good, Willie? What up? What up? Zoo boxing on today. Sunday. Sunday night boxing. Sunday night boxing. I forgot too because Shushu is gonna come on. Um, I messaged him, I spoke to him, and I was like, Oh, yeah, you know, just pop in if you want, blah, blah, blah. He's like, Oh, damn, I'm doing the zoo for boxing thing. Like, I guess he's there or whatever. I was like, Yeah, fuck. Oh, he's he's tapping up everything. He's got that belt, man. Champion, champion vibes. We are live on Instagram and YouTube. The YouTube screen is small because I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. The Instagram screen is regular size, and we are not live on TikTok because it's not working and I don't feel like dealing with it. Um, yeah, one day we are gonna have a producer do these things for us. But until then, on today's show, preview of upcoming fights this next weekend. Ryan Garcia versus Mario Barrios for Barrios for the WBC welterweight title. On packed stacked card, actually, kind of going under the radar after uh the the other card we just came off of in the city.
SPEAKER_00Ah, this is a great couple.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we got Gary Antoine Russell versus Andy Hirokoa.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, I don't really know much about him, but we'll talk about that. And then my favorite fight on the card, Richardson Hitchens, Brooklyn Zone versus Oscar Duarte. Really, really, really good matchup, really good fight. Very excited about that one. And our guy Frank Martin is on the undercard as well, and then Beck the Bully before that.
SPEAKER_00So it's a lot of people that fought Tank and a lot of people that fought Ryan. Well, yeah, I think a lot of people that fought each other on there.
SPEAKER_02PBC finally came to their good graces with Ring, because uh this is all PBC. This is all PBC. This is crazy. Uh, but yeah, great fight, great, great card. And uh I think we're gonna watch it here, right? You have anything going on the 21st?
SPEAKER_00Uh not that I know of.
SPEAKER_02Oh, well, I think we're gonna watch it here. But uh before that, our our homegirl, Ginny. Ginny, she uh apparently is I won't say too much, in negotiations for a contract for a fight in Cali for her new belt. Yep, the WBC belt. So I think I'm taking a little road trip or plane trip to Cali. Yep. Almost almost positive, as long as wifey can get off because my boxing wifey, Willie, has daddy duties. Yeah, that's like that's two in a row. I know. Jahay Tucker had a fight announcement as well. That's two right here in our backyard.
SPEAKER_00And I can't we'll go. I'm gonna go. Willie can't go to that either.
SPEAKER_02Houston, cheer dad. Give me a cheer. Give me like one of their cheers.
SPEAKER_00CGA. No, CJA, we don't play. Wow. Damn, cheer dad.
SPEAKER_02What's C G A? Central Jersey cheer. Oh, okay. That's where that's where your kid cheers out of Central Jersey. Yeah. Damn. Athletics. That's cool though. And as usual, we have other boxing drama.
SPEAKER_00Snooky and uh uh Tiki Barber daughter goes.
SPEAKER_02Did you meet Tiki?
SPEAKER_00I didn't get to meet he was there, he'd be there. Yeah, I didn't see him yet though. Yo, I remember I saw it's so big, we don't even see him.
SPEAKER_02I seen Snooky though, but I didn't know Tiki Barber could squat back in the day. I saw like something. Remember those sports illustrated magazines for kids? Yeah, he could squat like it was 950 pounds. I was like, what the fuck? And apparently that's like not crazy. I think it was 950. It was some outrageous number. I remember looking at it. 950. What the hell? That's almost a thousand. Tiki Barber squatting. Yeah, here we are, low energy coming off sickness. You got sick too, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I yeah, same. I never I never get sick, too. That's the crazy part.
SPEAKER_02Jaya Pataya finger blasted our mouths, and we got both got sick. Would you look at that?
SPEAKER_00He did give us some Australia fucking shit. I started itching all types of shit. I'm like, yo.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was pretty crazy. But uh, we were messed up sick. The finally, or the weather finally broke here in New York.
SPEAKER_00It was really because I still see white outside.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but it was like 40. It went from 15 to 40, and it felt like freaking Florida out here.
SPEAKER_00But it's still white outside.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the nasty snow is still there, too. It's all dirty snow. Yeah, nasty. Apparently, it's supposed to snow again. Sucks, man. We gotta get the hell out of New York. Yeah, that's why I said I was saying the other day after after the fights to myself, anyway.
SPEAKER_00I was like, man, Vegas, we let's move to Vegas.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because like if you don't utilize New York City, there's no reason to live in New York. No, like literally no reason.
SPEAKER_00Like beaches, no reason to live in New York City either.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but like New York City is fun. We're always you're always going there. You go to concerts there, you go to fights there. Come on. You're always gravitating there. As much as you hate it, you're always gravitating there.
SPEAKER_00Nobody cares.
SPEAKER_02But if you don't, like if you're a guy that doesn't use New York City, get out of here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like there's no point.
SPEAKER_02There's no point in living there. We have beaches, we got yeah, we got beaches, we got dirty beaches, yeah. But they're not like Florida beaches, and like there's just no point if you don't use New York City. That's the draw. That's why everything's so expensive. That's what we're always gravitating towards.
SPEAKER_00I'm good, bro.
unknownIt's crazy.
SPEAKER_00How do you like that shit? I don't understand.
SPEAKER_02New York.
SPEAKER_00You think you would live there.
SPEAKER_02Have you ever had a bad time there with me, though? Have you ever had a bad time there in jail? Yeah, pretty. I think so. Just walking around as tired. Come on, man. It's always fun, it's always action. Yeah, all about that action, boss. But speaking about all about that action, boss, let's get right into the fight previews. Um, we we didn't record last week because of the Super Bowl Sunday. So we took a little break early early in the season, and we missed some good fights. The Zoofa boxing stuff really is kicking. There was good fights on there. They're really putting together good cards on Sunday nights, which is cool. Now that football's over, Sunday night boxing is gonna be rolling. I'm here for it. We'll just chill.
SPEAKER_00What is it on?
SPEAKER_02Paramount plus. Yeah. So I I don't really Jaya Pataya has a fight coming up on there. They already went back against what they were saying with uh we're not gonna recognize the ring or other rankings, but Jaya Pataya is on there, so they're gonna recognize that. More boxing is good for me. I know a lot of people don't agree with that. And the competitive cards that they're putting on, now that's three in a row or four in a row, and each card was great. And even tonight, FA Ajagba vs. Charles Martin is a good heavyweight scrap. Uh, we'll see where F.A. A Jagba is as Charles Martin always shows up and shows out.
SPEAKER_00And then start yet?
SPEAKER_02No, I think it starts in a little bit. We'll be uh peeping that in the background as we go. But again, this Saturday, good card after good card after good card. Really good way to start the 2026 boxing, I guess not season, but year, because there is no seasons. Yeah, let's get right into it.
SPEAKER_00Boxing need a season. Oh no, what you think of boxing need a season or not?
SPEAKER_02I mean, yes and no. Uh no, I like because if you really watch, there's so many fighters, and even like your favorite fighter on these little promotions and shit. Like, I I just love it. Like, like, look at Jahai, right? Top rank don't really know what they're doing now. He's on star promotions fighting in in Huntington in in uh the Paramount Theater. That's pretty cool to me. Like, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00And Alex Vargas fighting on that card too?
Sunday Night Boxing And Zuffa’s Rise
SPEAKER_02I no, I think he got scratched from it for uh some other issues that are out of his control at the moment. Yeah, it's hard though, man. It's hard when you're a working man, your promotions, you know, not really. I'll tell you what happened off air with that, but yeah, he's not not fighting on that card, no. But uh, Frank Martin, there's actually a lot of it from what I'm looking at, there's a lot of money to be made on this card. You know, there's some close fights, good fights, good scraps, but betting-wise, this whole card coming up this Saturday, there is some money to be made.
SPEAKER_00This is kind of scary. This this this card is kind of scary, bro. I ain't gonna lie. There's a lot of 50-50s.
SPEAKER_02You think low-key. So you want to get what do you want to talk about? We want to talk about the main or what?
SPEAKER_00Um, how we usually start? I mean, with the bottom to the to the top.
SPEAKER_02Frank Martin staying active. Yeah, Frank Martin's staying active.
SPEAKER_00He's back, and I'm glad he got rid of Derek James. You see, he looks so different now.
SPEAKER_02I mean, yeah, but I don't know. Uh he's just I think he's just more focused. Like he's locked in. Like what but what'd he look like before Tank? The only guy he didn't look different. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00So I guess it's tank, maybe. Yeah, I like I don't, you know me. I don't know why I don't like Derrick James like that.
SPEAKER_02We met I met him, you didn't see him, but he was at the he was at the fight. He's really a cool person, but yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's just a his mad chill, it's just straight boxing. There's no games, we're just boxing and I feel like he just turned into a robot.
SPEAKER_02His gym in Texas is cool too. It's just this big pavilion. They open these big ass doors, yeah, and it's just boxing.
SPEAKER_00I'm just saying, it's just you just feel like you just turn into a robot. So like all his fighters fight the same.
SPEAKER_02Well, speaking of Frank Martin and Derek James, I'll just get into the extras portion of the show. Uh yeah, extra or Errol Spence is back. Errol Spence Jr. is skipped everything.
SPEAKER_00God damn.
SPEAKER_02But we'll we'll we'll hold off. We'll hold off. We'll talk about that. What's going on with him? Let's just stick to the program here. As you know, I have ADD. And yeah, Frank Martin versus Nahir Albright. Frank Martin, 18-1, 12 KOs coming off of a massive, arguably, KO of the year in his comeback fight, yeah, two, three months ago, staying active. That's what I want to see. That is great for Frank Martin. And the guy he's fighting, Naheer Albright. You you may have not heard of the name, but when I tell you who he's fought, you may have heard of him.
Does Boxing Need A Season
SPEAKER_00You had to hear his name because that's the same, ain't that the same guy?
SPEAKER_02It's a Keyshawn Davis brother kryptonite. Nahir Albright. Every time Naheer Albright's in in the ring with with these guys with one of the the Davises, something happens. I mean, Keyshawn beat him.
SPEAKER_00You think Keyshaw will pull up to this one and chair uh um Frank on? I don't doubt it.
SPEAKER_02I see what Frank Martin's doing, though. You see what Frank Martin's doing.
SPEAKER_00What's he doing?
SPEAKER_02He's he's I think he's chasing Keyshawn. I think there's there's a little bit of a narrative here because of Frank Martin versus Keyshawn fight at 140.
SPEAKER_00He's bugging.
SPEAKER_02That's still that's a name for for Keyshawn. It's it's not bugging. Uh not here, Albright man. He went the distance with Keyshawn. It's very hard to do. Very hard to do. He beat Keyson's brother. Not very hard to do.
SPEAKER_00Frank Martin is too small for Keyshawn. He's way too small.
SPEAKER_02They're both at 140, though.
SPEAKER_00No, he's gonna move up. Yeah, yeah. Who he's not gonna fight his man's in him, so he's gonna move up.
SPEAKER_02I uh if you say so. I don't know. I think I think uh well this isn't about Keyshawn, it's about Frank Martin. Uh we gotta give Frank Martin pop uh props. He's clearly staying active. You don't you never you rarely ever see a PBC but he's fighting a tall, lanky kind of fighter right now.
SPEAKER_00He's you think he's he's gonna he's gonna have a hard time. This is gonna be this is a 50-50 fight, too. You think so? Yeah, uh 50-50s, damn near. What's your take on it though, betting wise? No, that I mean this this I I can see this going to the distance, unless he uh Frank catch him with something. Yeah, and he's he could catch him with something.
SPEAKER_02I think it's gonna I'm betting distance too. I think Frank Martin's gonna win. Yeah, I think Frank Martin's gonna get the rounds.
SPEAKER_00I don't know, he might get jabbed to death.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but his jab isn't like good, it's not kind of awkward.
SPEAKER_00It's kind of awkward.
SPEAKER_02He knows what he's doing, he's in there, he's been in there with some names now.
SPEAKER_00He's off a he's off a like momentum of getting shit done. Yeah, I mean, I just it's not the caliber of Frank Martin, but no, but uh but activity matters, man.
SPEAKER_02If you saw how sharp Frank Martin looked after no activity, now he's coming back after that activity. I think Frank Martin's gonna hit him with some shit. Think so that left was so damn straight, man.
SPEAKER_00I think I think this card is really gonna be a good card. It's gonna be a good card, a good boxing card. And Frank and Martin, Frank Martin's going. This is one of his 50-50s. I don't know. He might end up losing. I don't I don't think so.
SPEAKER_02I think something. I think he will, man. Like I I think he will. I don't think Naheer Albright doesn't have the power to really scare Frank.
SPEAKER_00What about his defense? Does he got defense?
SPEAKER_02It's decent, yeah. He moves, he does enough to win, but I just don't think Frank Martin gets timid when you have power. And Nahir Albright does not have that power. As you see, this 16-2 with only seven KOs versus very, very uh questionable opposition, other than the Davis brothers.
SPEAKER_00He's small to him. I think he's gonna be small.
SPEAKER_02Frank's gonna be small, yeah. Yeah, but small but mighty. Yeah, he that straight left, dude. Yeah, catch him, and he's all his confidence is riding high. He's dusted off the cobwebs from the tank, the tank freaking uh power, power surge right on his freaking draw.
SPEAKER_00I think it's gonna be a tough fight, man.
SPEAKER_02All right, if you say I do like though, I do like the name. Like again, at this point in both of their career, it's it's a decent scrap. You talk about it. Yeah, this is a good fight. Three years ago, I'd be like Frank Martin by demolition. Yeah, but now, and again, a PBC fighter is fighting within like four months or whatever it is. That's that's unheard of. Uh a name, you know, a PBC name fighter.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he well, he's coming off a stop, it's about time he'd get back in there and that's what that's what we want to see.
SPEAKER_02So good good props to him on on that. And again, I I think there's a little bit of a narrative here. Remember this, he's gonna call out Keyshawn after. I almost guarantee it. Almost guarantee it.
SPEAKER_00Nah, he don't want that smoke, though.
SPEAKER_02I don't think he cares. I mean, I'm not saying it's it's he's gonna win that fight, but I I think this is the road to to Keish Keyshawn. A win here calls out Keyshawn. Keyson obviously is entered the game again, entered the names again.
SPEAKER_00Keyshawn looking for Devin Haney, D Bow Dev.
SPEAKER_02We'll talk about that too. We'll get into that.
SPEAKER_00He's looking for D Bow Dev.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, I mean you're dude 140 is an awesome division.
SPEAKER_00140 is 140 and 147 because like Devin is so close.
SPEAKER_02I feel like Devin could still get to 140, honestly.
SPEAKER_00But bro, it's like um it's like all these divisions merging together. It's like 135, 140, and 147. They all like people teetering back and forth, and that's crazy. It's a lot of people that don't make weight, so they just be moving. Like, there's a lot of people have been missing weight, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So because they're not freaking dedicated, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Maybe, or it's the American food. I knew you.
SPEAKER_02I was just gonna say eating the processed food. Yes, no, they're lazy on their phone, sitting on the damn couch. That's what it is. 2024 6, maybe. So after Frank Martin, speaking of 140, Richardson Hitchens goes by Africa to his friends.
SPEAKER_00I never yo, the craziest part, like I recently found out who was Africa. Like, not this, it was like uh like a couple years.
SPEAKER_02Like you heard people just saying, yeah, Africa, this, Africa.
SPEAKER_00It was like a year, like a year maybe or so that I found this out.
SPEAKER_02Like he was Africa. This is this is a difficult fight, man. This is a really difficult fight. That's why I said this is a really and this is the most exciting. This should be the main event, in my opinion.
Frank Martin vs Nahir Albright Breakdown
SPEAKER_00This is not gonna be the no. I think Gary Russell and I'm gonna be the main event.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Well, I think I think like name recognition wise, and and when you when you put these matchups stylistically together, yeah, Richardson Hitchens versus Oscar Duarte is is a fire fight. And yeah, there's a million reasons why stylistically alone, but Hitchens wasn't preparing for Duarte. He wasn't he was preparing for um what's his name? Who Keyshawn beat? Your boy.
unknownWho?
SPEAKER_02Who Kishon just beat? Ortiz? Ortiz, yeah. He was preparing for Ortiz, that drama happened all of a sudden. Boom. I he's and props to Hitchens. He's fighting Oscar Duarte, who's been on a tear, dude.
SPEAKER_00On a tear after losing to Ryan Garcia. This is crazy. He fought Ryan Garcia, Ryan Garcia's on the uh on the card.
SPEAKER_02That was like three or four years ago, and since that Ryan Garcia loss, Oscar Duarte has usually you you go one of both one of one way or the other when you suffer a loss like that. You either suck and fight nobody's or or get angry. And Duarte got angry and has been on a heater. I think it's three or four wins in a row, good wins, and he's heavy-handed, he attacks the body, he's a pressure fighter. Yeah. Hitchens needs to snap that good jab of his.
SPEAKER_00He got the best jab in the game. I'm sitting here now. He got the yo, Richardson Hitchen got the best jab, and that shit whistled like the motherfucking uh was it what's that shit? The football we used to have.
SPEAKER_02Oh, the nerf, uh, yeah, I remember.
SPEAKER_00It's just like that. I was young. His jab is he's gonna need it.
SPEAKER_02He's gonna need it because Duarte is chin down, thud in that body, big, excuse my language, girthy dude.
SPEAKER_00He is he is he is not the messed up tricep, I feel like look like just it don't matter, and he seems motivated. Your shit, that's what your shit was like, right? His bicep. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02A lot of fighters that happens to when they throw fucking heat.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, damn, this guy has ripped now. His bicep is just kind of messed up.
SPEAKER_02But for real, for real, Duarte versus Richardson Hitchens is almost must see TV, in my opinion, yeah. Stylistically, because what is Hitchens gonna do? We he showed great ring IQ versus Cambosas. This is not Cambosis, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00I think this is an easier fight.
SPEAKER_02You think so?
SPEAKER_00No, no way, dude. There's a guy's gonna be standing there, he's gonna catch hella jabs.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but style-wise, style-wise, he's gonna be catching those jabs.
SPEAKER_00One, two. He's as long as he keeps on moving around, he if he stands still now.
SPEAKER_02Hitchens is is lanky in a sense, right? And and Duarte's a body guy, he's coming for that body, and he's coming with flooding.
SPEAKER_00He's gotta reach the body, though.
SPEAKER_02And here's another little little narrative here. What do Latino, specifically Mexican fighters, want the most? Belts. They, when it's a championship fight, man, they are coming for that belt. They don't they don't give no ifs, ands, or what's about it. And this is for the IBF Jr. welterweight belt, man. This is this is a chance for Duarte.
SPEAKER_00He gotta get to the the thing about Oscar, he don't throw nothing, he don't set up nothing to go to the body. So he just throwing, like, is it's easy. It's gonna be easy. It's gonna look he's gonna make it look easy.
SPEAKER_02The worst Hitchens ever looked, though, was a fight like that when the dude was in his chest and kept him trapped, and and I'm sure he's gonna prepare for it.
SPEAKER_00I believe I don't think this is gonna be the best fight, but it's gonna be a great fight. It's a great style matchup, but I think he's gonna make it look easy. Uh he's he's his jab is just too good.
SPEAKER_02If if Hitchens wins, right? If Hitchens wins, you gotta get you gotta go for unifications. Oh the point of the belts is unifications. So however he wins, whatever, you gotta go for unifications. That's what I want to see. That was my biggest issue, and and it has to do with my guy, too. Tia Fimo. The unifications, man. I want to see these guys unify and get undisputed.
SPEAKER_00When you get undisputed, man, it's like 40 is crazy.
SPEAKER_02Uh but like unify, fight each other.
SPEAKER_00That's a definitely crazy division to be fighting each other.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but they gotta fight each other, bro. It's like fuck. So, but again, this this is a good name matchup. I I love the styles and and Oscar Duarte's real deal. It's it's this isn't when Garcia knocked him out, it was a surprise. When Ryan Garcia knocked him out, it was a shock.
SPEAKER_00He was on the back hook running when he got caught.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Are you willing to say Hitchens Hitchens' hooks and stuff?
SPEAKER_00No, he don't got he don't got the power like that. He don't got the power like Ryan. The speed, the speed with the power.
SPEAKER_02He's gonna have to fight this fight smart, man. I'm telling you, Richardson Hitchens can't fight.
SPEAKER_00I think he is, though. I think he is gonna be fighting this.
SPEAKER_02And I'm you know, I'm rooting for the guy, but this this is this is I I believe that this is a really tough fight for for many reasons. More specifically, though, the the the adjustment he'd have to make, he wasn't preparing to fight this guy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's been hard, it's been harder and harder for these uh for the Mexicans to get to these black slick fighters, man. Yeah, I mean harder and harder. It's like they figuring it out. Like, yo, box the box the whole time. And he's one, he's just like Shakur. Like, this is one thing about Shakur. I love he don't he don't switch his form up. Yeah, he sticks to the plan no matter what it is. He sticks no hands down, straight in his hot in his guard or in a high guard all the time.
SPEAKER_02And he I I will say, like, I posted it when when I met him this this week, past two weekends, whatever the hell it was in the city. You know, my drunk ass was being annoying, talking to him, like, yo, who you got? Who's winning this for you, Shakur? And he's like, I don't care about anybody. Oscar Duarte. I'm going for Oscar Duarte, like ignored the noise, so that's good. He he does appear to be focused. It's just man, Oscar Duarte, I'm telling you, bro, I'm scared. I'm nervous for fucking itchens, man. I need him to I need him to win rounds. Win rounds, win rounds, win rounds.
SPEAKER_00He's easily gonna win, man. I think.
SPEAKER_02I hope so. I hope so. But if if if he mucks it up, if Duarte mucks it up, I'm telling you.
SPEAKER_00He's gonna he gonna have to. He's gonna have to.
SPEAKER_02But he will. Like this. TO was supposed to muck it up with Shakuran, didn't he did not do it. Dw Uh Duarte's gonna muck it up. He is gonna muck it up with that Mexican mud. That Latino mud.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean he yeah, he just come off he came off a win with um Kenneth Swims, and he's he's not on a level as as he steamrolled Sims.
SPEAKER_02Yeah he steamrolled Sims. That was a that was a supposed to be a close fight on paper.
SPEAKER_00With the distance.
SPEAKER_02I want money on that fight. I kind of saw that coming. Steamrolled his ass. Sims fought that fight wrong, though. That's what Hitchens can't do. Because you see what happens when you fight that fight wrong?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Hitchens can't do that. And I don't think he will. Hitchens, I believe, is better than Sims.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think he can make a mess, man. He's gonna win, man.
SPEAKER_02That jab. That jab is obviously the most important punch in boxing. He does possess it.
SPEAKER_00So I mean if Dorte can cut off the ring, man, maybe. Maybe he can.
SPEAKER_02Dorte can. That's the problem saying, dude. Don't sleep on Oscar Dorte, bro.
SPEAKER_00He he don't got no well, Ryan didn't have no feet. Ryan don't have like feet moving.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And he's not as as lanky and and jab disciplined. Like like um Hitchens is is jab disciplined. You know what I mean? Like he's he throws that jab. He never fought like a slick uses that jab as his defense, whips it, like you said, zings it, like you said. So he he is gonna be there all day.
SPEAKER_00Because you know he fight like a peekaboo style comedy, sort of he goes around, he got like a little rhythm, but you know, he can get in there, but he he's gonna try to get inside without throwing nothing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like he would throw it's just when Duarte gets in his chest, it can it's gonna be at points.
SPEAKER_00Because Duarte's strong, man. There's gonna be points, points at the in the fight that he can get there, but I don't think it's gonna be often.
SPEAKER_02I hope you're right. Again, I'm back in Hitchens, I'm rooting for Hitchens. I just after this fight, if Hitchens pulls it off, the next goal must be to unify the belts. We need to unify the belts. There's nothing better than a unification fight. Nothing better than a unification fight, and the ultimate goal in boxing needs to be and stay undisputed because that's what makes the four belt era cool. That's what we love about it. When you achieve all four belts and you get undisputed, that is amazing. You beat three champions or whatever, how many champions you however many champions it took to get to those belts. Champions that beat other champions.
SPEAKER_00I got a question.
SPEAKER_02What's the question? Who's undisputed? At 140? Any division right now. Right now, I don't think um, oh, just uh what's his name? I think Bam. Is it Bam? Or In a way?
SPEAKER_00I don't even think Bam is either.
SPEAKER_02One of those two. I don't know. Let's let's look it up. You're right. Because I I know like I don't I don't think anybody right now, and that's like a problem.
SPEAKER_00I don't think Inouway is it? Is he I think in a way is that I think he might be. I think he might be the only one. I mean it was Crawford. Watch McCullough got stripped too, right? Um Usick.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because he lost uh he got stripped the belt for not fighting with her.
SPEAKER_00Crawford stripped uh Canelo. Stripped him down, stripped him naked. All right, let's go through.
SPEAKER_02Hold on. Heavyweight doesn't have one, cruiserweight doesn't have one. Light heavyweight almost has one, but David Benavides has the WBC, so uh Bivill has three of the four. But he's not at light heavy, I mean he didn't have a fight.
SPEAKER_00Is he even fighting?
Hitchens vs Duarte Stakes And Styles
SPEAKER_02Super middleweight doesn't have one, middleweight's all fucked up. Janabek was going for it, but then popped hot for steroids, did not win. Junior middleweight doesn't have an undisputed champion. I think you might be right. 140 is totally the four different people have belts. Um lightweight as well, there's two vacant belts. And Miratala, Raymond Miratala, and Abdullah Mason have a belt. Junior welterweight, 130. There's no undisputed. No. 126. No, absolutely not. Nope, that's another great weight. Oh, yeah, your junior featherweight, 122, Naya In a way, undisputed. Yep. And other under that, what's McCall? Uh Rodriguez, Jesse Bam Rodriguez, I was wrong, has three out of four.
SPEAKER_00He could beat fucking Garcia Perez at 115, but our boy um Ricardo got like two.
SPEAKER_02Um flyweight, 112, WBA and WBC, Ricardo Sandoval. He could probably, he's gonna go for undisputed, probably too. But yeah, right as of right now, the only undisputed champion is in the way.
SPEAKER_00Sheesh. That's insane.
SPEAKER_02Yup at 122 junior featherweight.
SPEAKER_00That's insane.
SPEAKER_02But that's how hard it is. But a lot of the reasoning for is isn't because because guys are moving up and moving down, especially like you know what? Shame on 130. You were praising them, how how hot the divisions are 135 through 147. Shame on them. Fight each other and get undisputed.
SPEAKER_00They just tear it back and forth. I don't like going, going where the money's at.
SPEAKER_02Uh, but yeah, so so yeah, Naya in a way is the only undisputed champion right now, I believe. Uh, correct me if I'm wrong from what I'm looking at. He is the only undisputed champion right now. But there's a shot for Hitchens, man, at 140, man. He could do it. There's a shot for him. That's a tough, that's a tough one. But I I want to see it. I want to see it. I want to see the undisputed fights. Uh, my the stupid Zoofa boxing thing is not working now. Whatever. I'll I'll recap later. Again, we are previewing Richardson Hitchens versus Oscar Duarte and the entire card. It's a Ryan Garcia card. Ryan Garcia is fighting for the WBC Walterweight title. Mario Barrios this coming weekend. Great card, great card. The main event is probably the worst fight on the card, but great, great card. And that's what we are previewing if you're just tuning in. Yeah, that's it, man. Um, next, also 140, another belt holder as as we talk about this. Gary Antoine Russell, another dynamic fighter versus Andy Hiroka for the WBA Junior Welterweight title.
SPEAKER_00And I think that's the fight that's going to steal the night.
SPEAKER_02You think so?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I don't.
SPEAKER_00This is action. Yeah, but this is first time over here, though. That's the crazy part. That's the problem with these Japanese, dude. They don't fight. But this is he he fights, man. Both South Paul. Yeah, but when's the last time he had a fight? He haven't had he haven't fought in a minute.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think like three years or two years, two and a half years or some shit.
SPEAKER_00He's tripping. But he got a he got power in that left hand, man.
SPEAKER_02But you're coming, you're coming over. Yeah, Gary Antoine Russell. He's one of my favorite champions. Well, I love one 140 is my favorite division, honestly. It's my favorite division right now.
SPEAKER_00This is gonna be a fun fight, I think. I think this one is gonna be funny.
SPEAKER_02I think Russell's just too well-rounded, man. He's got angles, speed, pop with that speed. He does get hit. I will say he can come forward, but he has defense.
SPEAKER_00This guy punched on his back foot, too.
SPEAKER_02And and he has smart aggression, and he got lengthy, lengthy punches. The Japanese dude.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he got power too. He got but how many knockouts are wrote? How many knockouts?
SPEAKER_02First who, though?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, it is what it is. How many knockouts?
SPEAKER_02His best win is against Ishmael Barroso. That old guy that beat Rolly.
SPEAKER_0019.
SPEAKER_02His best win is Ishmael Barroso.
SPEAKER_00That's all the that's the only problem. That's a big experience.
SPEAKER_02That's a big problem when you're fighting a guy with a belt. As smart as Gary Antoine Russell, bro. That's a big problem.
SPEAKER_00I don't think he's gonna win, but I think that's gonna be the most exciting one. I'm going Russell Stopped. What?
SPEAKER_02He's too complete and too active. Way too complete and way too active.
SPEAKER_00Russell Stop is he's a dark Japanese dude, too. I thought he was black for a second.
SPEAKER_02Really? I even see.
SPEAKER_00I just I was like, yo, this guy is Japanese. He's a Taiwan. Black Japanese? Yo, he's like dark. Bro, I unless my screen was fucked up. You're looking at the wrong guy, bro. Hold on. Dude, it was dark. You didn't even look him up?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I don't remember seeing. I would have remembered that.
SPEAKER_00He can fight. I ain't gonna lie. He can fight. I didn't see him fight before, but he can fight. Hold on. I gotta see this. He can fight, and he's like a dark Japanese. There's no way, dude.
SPEAKER_02I would have I would have seen that.
SPEAKER_00He is he's like light-skinned black. Bro, what? What? What are you talking about? Yo, whenever you see him on the screen. Look at the light. Look at the screen. On this side of his face, he's white. On that side, there's a shadow. You gotta see that. You gotta see that on on the on the YouTube when he fights.
SPEAKER_02Well, I hope Gary Antoine Russell beats the black out of this Japanese guy. Uh and I think he is. Listen, uh, but who you fight matters, man. And Gary Antoine Russell had a split decision loss to Alberto Playo, who is a monster opponent at 140.
SPEAKER_00Do not get in a war with Gary Russell. That's it. Just don't get in a war with you.
SPEAKER_02But again, like you just said, that this guy's like lanky.
SPEAKER_00He's lanky and he's accountable.
SPEAKER_02Alberto Playo is probably the biggest 140 guy I've ever seen. Who's who's he kind of fights like him? I don't think he's Alberto Pelo, bro. Yeah. Gary Antoine Russell by stopping. You want to make a little friendly bet? No, I'm good.
SPEAKER_00I'm good. This is not my fight. I'll have no dog in this fight in this card.
SPEAKER_02I'm telling you, bro. Gary Antoine Russell is gonna sleep on this.
SPEAKER_00Why are you always sleeping on somebody?
SPEAKER_02Who because who you fight matters, dude? I don't care how you fight, who you fight matters at this level, at the elite level. He's coming here from Japan. Yes, he may be the first time here, yeah. He may be black Japanese, he may be black Japanese, like black Japanese, but he's coming here from Japan.
SPEAKER_00I'm trying to tell you.
SPEAKER_02To fight Gary Antoine Russell, man. You're gonna be surprised. He's one of the most well-rounded at 140, man. Stop sleeping on a little bit of everything.
SPEAKER_00How tall is he? Go back.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I can't even look it up. Hold on. How tall is Andy Hiroka? Hirohoka. Can't even say that.
SPEAKER_00It's gonna be good, bro. I'm trying to tell you. These are all 50-50 fights out here, man.
SPEAKER_02Um, does it say how tall he is? 5'11 and a half. And how tall is he? I'm 5'9. Gary Russell's probably like 5'8, 5'9. 5'6, yeah. 5'10. Oh, that's not too big.
SPEAKER_00Oh, he's 5'10. Oh, yeah. Inch taller, man. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Gary Russell's about to wax that ass, man. I'm saying it again. I'm telling you, bro. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I'm trying to tell you that he's like, when you were like, yo, this guy's good, you're like, how the hell do you know that?
SPEAKER_02He's probably he's probably really good. I'm sure he's really good.
SPEAKER_00But you'd be like, yo, how? Willie, how is this?
SPEAKER_02Is he champion things? Is he champion level good? And based on his opposition, I don't care how good he is. Cause everybody that he fought, if Gary Russell fought, Gary Russell would look like a god too.
SPEAKER_00So he fought some and they had good records, though. That don't matter. You know that. So I know he gotta come over the stakes. He should have been came over the stage before fighting Gary Russell, but damn.
SPEAKER_02His best win again is Ishmael Barroso, Barroso, whatever, who's like 95 years old. And he he beat Role, but they gave it to Roley, that controversial knockout four or five years ago, whatever it was. And that's the only really tough guy, tough guy, but not Gary Russell Jr. Tough. There's levels again. You're gonna see my boy. You will too. We'll be sitting right there. You'll see too. I'm gonna see him. You got anything to do next week? You got nothing to do next weekend, right?
SPEAKER_00Nah, no.
SPEAKER_02You're good? All right, Saturday night. We got a date.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I'll get some honey.
SPEAKER_00Why do you have to get some honey? Because it's a black Japanese guy. You said it. You said it, not me. Andy Hirohoka. Yo, he's alright, bro. Watch. He's gonna surprise the shit out of a lot of people. I hope I don't think he's gonna win, but I like Russell.
SPEAKER_02I got no skin in the game, but I I hope I hope you're right.
SPEAKER_00I like Gary Russell too. But I don't think I think this is gonna be a tough fight. I think this is gonna be the best fight. I don't know why. I know why, but because it's the styles.
SPEAKER_02I think you're gonna be I think you're totally right.
SPEAKER_00Come afford.
SPEAKER_02I think Duarte versus Hitchens would be the be the best. Also, let's Beck the Bully knockout, though. Beck the bully on the undercard, uh the lower undercard.
SPEAKER_00Who's he fighting?
SPEAKER_02Uh I forget who, but I just I just have a feeling he's gonna knock some shit out.
SPEAKER_00Oh shit.
SPEAKER_02Damn, what the fuck was that? My ring. Um on the main event, moving on. Okay, moving on. 147, the welterweight title that Ryan Garcia shouldn't be fighting for, but is he's getting an opportunity. We already talked about that. We're not gonna discuss it again. This is that is still insane. It is insane, it makes no sense. The WBC makes absolutely no sense besides the fact that they follow the money. They are f they're big on their money, as we'll get into uh at the end of the show soon. Quick show here uh about the WBC and their antics as they did it again. Oh, you're doing something, but they they did it with this fight too. Mario Barrios 29-2 and one, 18 KOs coming off of a draw with Manny Pacquiao versus Ryan Garcia, 24-2, 20 KOs coming off of a loss versus Rolly Romero, coming off of some possible banned substance use, always in the mix, but he is one of the top five, you could even say top three most marketable boxers in the game, and he generates the most amount of money coming in. So I I kind of get the money aspect and the business-wise aspect of it. It just is not fair that he is fighting for this title, but we already discussed that, and he is fighting for the title. So let's get right into the fight breakdown, Willie. Who you got, what do you got, how do you got him, when, where, why, how.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna do what WBC be doing. Following the money. Ryan Garcia. Yeah, Ryan Garcia for the win. I don't know how he's gonna get it, but he's I'm pretty sure he's gonna get it, and then we're gonna get the Devin Haney versus Ryan Garcia. That is the that is the I'm following the money just like them.
SPEAKER_02What are the odds in this fight? Do you know? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Who's I mean that's crazy. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I mean, Garcia has to be favored, right? He has to be favored.
SPEAKER_00I have no clue.
SPEAKER_02Uh Ryan Garcia is favored on betting odds around minus 225. So he's minus 225. Okay, that's pretty close. That's like what Shakur was versus Tio. Right. Who's the favorite? Uh Garcia, minus 225. So yep, see, that's that's how we know. I mean, but that that's right. I think um, not based off of Ryan Garcia's last performance. Totally different fighter here in Mario Barrios. I I think though, I I think Barrios is gonna land some shots on Garcia, and Garcia's gonna get a little little wild and a little uh anxious because uh because Barry again he looked like shit versus Pacquiao. I I don't know why he he fought so timid. I I feel like versus Ryan Garcia and coming off of that Pacquiao fight, Barrios is gonna throw some shit. He's gonna throw some shit. So Garcia is there to be hit, and again, with Ryan Garcia, you just have to beware of one thing yeah, that hook from the hook from hell, the Ryan Garcia hook from hell. Is it's hard to be aware from it, but with the trainer change now, Joe Goosin and all that drama.
SPEAKER_00Oh, all that drama. He's like, Yeah, they got he got all my coaches, and it's true.
Unifications And The Belt Landscape
SPEAKER_02So so there's something to be said there. And and again, Mario Barrios is is a champion, so like he he will follow the the tasks that are thrown. Uh the he'll follow the script that's given to him by Joe Goosen. And if anyone knows Ryan Garcia well, it's Joe Goosen.
SPEAKER_00So but I wouldn't, I wouldn't trust him though. Like, why would you even want to? You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02I wouldn't he's clearly here just for the money.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, I wouldn't bring somebody like him in.
SPEAKER_02I don't think he wants to get knocked out by like as a as a as a Mexican fighter claimed the Aztec warrior, right? You get knocked out by Pacquiao, who cares? In today's world, with you get knocked out by the social media pretty boy Ryan Garcia, they're gonna be throwing Modellos at his head. You know what I'm saying? Like, I think it's I think that's the only real angle here for motivation for Barry.
SPEAKER_00Would you really bring in his old trainer? Like, I wouldn't trust the trust the head. Who, Joe? You don't trust Joe? I wouldn't trust him. Nah, I don't know. He doesn't seem like a trust per worthy person at this point. Why? Because he wears tight denim jackets? Yeah, whatever. Whatever Ryan said, but he you can tell, like he just could do funny shit. If he don't got no loyalty to nobody, that's insane. I mean, it's money, man. Exactly, but why would you bring him in? I'm asking you personally, would you bring him in?
SPEAKER_02Like if I was like if I was fighting.
SPEAKER_00If you was fighting Ryan Garcia, would you bring him in?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Because you don't he don't know.
SPEAKER_02I'd stick to whoever I have, but that's another like fighters change too much, I think. Sometimes when they're in this weird level, like they change a little too much.
SPEAKER_00He just came in for this fight.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I mean Ryan smokes him, I wouldn't be surprised.
SPEAKER_02He's gonna, yeah, I believe. I mean, this is like a if if if Ryan Garcia loses this fight, he's done. It's like he still makes generate money. He's still not gonna make it. Haney, Haney, hopefully, uh, if he loses that Haney fight, still generates money. That's the next biggest fight. I think it's almost better. If Ryan Garcia looks like shit and loses, it's better for his career because he'll get that Haney rematch. I really believe that. I don't think if he if he shows shows out here, knocks him out in the first four to five rounds, Haney's not fighting him. There's already been drama with Haney and him regarding Vada testing. I think there's there's no Vada testing in this fight. So I don't know if that's 100% accurate.
SPEAKER_00I don't think I think the opposite. If he looked good and he's gonna want that fight, he went.
SPEAKER_02Say what you want, man. Haney is in or Ryan Garcia is in Haney's head. He is Ryan Garcia is in living in his head, living in his head more than any other fight.
SPEAKER_00For sure.
SPEAKER_02So I still think if he looks like shit, that fight still generates a shitload of buzz. There's a huge storyline. You can make freaking 10 10 pre-shows for that fight. Haney versus Garcia 2. You could you could find different angles drama-wise. This is the this is the TV social media age.
SPEAKER_00We need that fight. I ain't gonna lie. I'm following the money. Go get that shit, Ryan. You don't deserve this fight.
SPEAKER_02That's always gonna be there. If Ryan Garcia looks like shit, he don't deserve this fight.
SPEAKER_00He don't deserve this fight.
SPEAKER_02But he gets a belt, man.
SPEAKER_00He's it is what if he gets a belt, it's gonna be a different type of fight. Ryan, he might go back to the Ryan of old. Yeah, talking match.
SPEAKER_02I got that picture with that hook, that hook from hell, man. That left hook. Which one is that? Uh Red of the Fury one. That left hook from hell, bro. Yeah, I bought that. I bought the I bought a Ryan Garcia autograph right before the uh tank fight, just in case. It's like this guy knocks tank out. This guy's really good. But just in case, whatever. Uh, yeah. What do you got though? What what what you think you think Garcia knockout?
SPEAKER_00Uh I don't think so. Maybe he maybe they stop it in the corner, maybe.
SPEAKER_02I think I think Garcia's gonna get hit with a straight and get knocked down, get up and win the fight. I really think Garcia is gonna get knocked down and win the fight.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I just don't think Garcia's heart is in boxing anymore, man. He's training in his kitchen again.
SPEAKER_00I think I think he won, I think he went this fight bad enough to get that Devin fight.
SPEAKER_02I I guess I that Devin fight's always there, though. That's if Garcia looks like shit, it's it's all on Devin. So if Garcia looks like shit, Devin will take the Garcia fight. If Garcia shows out and looks great, Devin is not taking that fight.
SPEAKER_00Yes, he is.
SPEAKER_02I don't think so, dude. Deep old Dev went his shit back. He didn't take Lomachenko till he looked till Lomachenko started falling off a little.
SPEAKER_00How are you falling off a little? Because he's getting a little older.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And he took an L and then Ortiz. I mean, I'm just saying, bro.
SPEAKER_00He finally got the shot, though.
SPEAKER_02He did, and and listen, Devin Haney looked great in his last fight. I'm not this is no no nothing against Devin Haney. I'm just saying, I I think if Garcia is in his head so bad.
SPEAKER_00Oh dev looking way better than Ryan Garcia right now.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, I guess, but he is he is so in his head, bro. Like, like there's no who do you think like if you had to pick which fighter is in another fighter's head the most in all of boxing, who would it be? You know the answer because it's it's who we're talking about. Um David Bedavia is in uh Canelo. Yeah, you can argue that, but I think I think Ryan Garcia is in Haney's head way more. Just my opinion. Um and I I don't care about either of them. So I'm just saying. But I I think I do think Ryan comes out in this fight, this particular fight, he's gonna come out confident, he's gonna take risks early, he's gonna land some hard punches to set the tone. But if he doesn't set that tone early and lets Barrios get in a groove, Barrios is fun trying to get inside. He throws straight punches, Barrios. So I think Garcia's chin is still fucking up there sniffing farts. So I think there is a chance for Barrios to hit him with something, but if Barrios fights like he fought Pacquiao, pack it in, pack it up, get out of here. We're in for a stinker. Yeah, we're in for a stinker. I think Barrios is just gonna try to survive. There's there's a lot of angles in this in this fight that that could happen.
SPEAKER_00So what do you think is gonna be the what's your favorite bet in this?
SPEAKER_02I think Garcia to get knocked down once and win. That money-wise, odds wise, Garcia to get knocked down once and win.
SPEAKER_00That's a bet?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it'll be in the special on FanDuel. It'll be in one of the knockdown. I think that's that's the money-wise, that's the best bet. I mean, obviously the safest bet is Garcia to win flat out, minus two, whatever, but I I think that there's a good angle in that fight. Yeah, yeah, that's really it. That's the only card. Uh quick little show here, a little uh quickie, quickie, nothing like a good quickie off Valentine's Day. Everyone was getting quickies in on Valentine's Day. What'd you do for Valentine's Day?
SPEAKER_00I took the kids to uh trampoline spot.
SPEAKER_02Nice. What'd you do on Valentine's Day? I took the kids. Damn, yeah, I hate my life. I don't know.
Gary Antoine Russell vs Andy Hiraoka
SPEAKER_00Imagine what you did, huh? Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um then we got some drama, as always, in boxing. We spoke about it earlier. The return of the Mac. Errol Spence Jr. announces his return in a fight versus Tim's. Zoo in Australia. Really spicy fight. Really spicy fight. But I I my only takeaway from this fight is this guy really waited for Crawford to be done and retired to return. He might be in his head, man. Crawford might be living in Spence's head still. I did not like that.
SPEAKER_00That was crazy.
SPEAKER_02And I don't mean this against anything against Spence. I'm a Spence guy. I just found that a little ironic that Terrence Crawford was good and retired, and all of a sudden Errol Spence Jr. is in the gym again. Damn, Crawford, just fucking killing me, man.
SPEAKER_00Damn. He's like, man, I don't want to fight this guy. He don't want to play.
SPEAKER_02He waited. He's like, let me make sure this guy's out of here.
SPEAKER_00He's like, I don't want a part two. But hey. I don't want a part two at 154, none of that shit. Oh man, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_02Spence Jr. coming back though. Versus Tim Zoo. Tough guy, tough opponent. Are you excited? Yeah, yeah, I'm excited. That's a that's a good like I don't I think he should take a tune-up. I don't think that's Tim Zoo. Yeah, he's not looking like his Tim Zoo of old. But Errol Spence hasn't fought in three plus years. Three plus years after a beatdown.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's not good. Like you need a tune-up. Like if Errol Spence came back and who's his trainer? I don't know. I'm not, I think Derek James, too. I could be wrong. But Errol Spence Jr., bro. Uh like if you know sometimes people get mad when fighters take tune-up fights. In this case, nobody would be mad if Errol Spence Jr. took a tune-up. What does he do? He takes Tim Zoo. Some people are saying Tim Zoo's a tune-up. If Tim Zoo's a tune-up, he is the number one tune-up in like in the game. So this is this is a huge fight for both, and it's in Australia.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's because it generates the most money. They know they're selling us. Tim Zoo sells Australia out like crazy. So that I'm here for it, man. Shit. I'm here for it. You see the back and forth going on with Shakur and everybody?
SPEAKER_00Shakur's Shakur who?
SPEAKER_02On Twitter or X? Not really. Shakur's just fighting with everybody, man. Shakur and Haney. Just going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. Nah.
SPEAKER_00No, I know about the WBC shit.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, that that too. That too. So the WBC.
SPEAKER_00Like what?
SPEAKER_02They said he didn't pay or whatever.
SPEAKER_00Talking about he didn't pay when they didn't have nothing to do with the fight.
SPEAKER_02It was a shot at it. It was clear. It was crystal clear. WBC's weird. Weird like that. And hey, and and this is what makes it even more weird. Shakur was probably going back down to 135. He said he's not staying at 140, which I don't agree with. But I think if you fight at a new weight, it should be like set in stone. No, you lose your belts. Like you go to 140, you lose your belts. If you're that dominant in the lesser weights, like kind of like what Inoue is doing anyway, and and Bam Rodriguez is doing, you could just keep them forever. I I think if you move a weight class.
SPEAKER_00I mean, as long as you fight your mandatories, you should be good. I don't understand.
SPEAKER_02But the mandatories aren't what they're supposed to be. If they made them what they're supposed to be, yeah. Like mandatory challenges should be tough. Not like, oh, let me do a favor for my friend over here. Like it should be like, oh, this guy has a belt, that guy has a belt. Let's talk about it and make it a mandatory. You know what I mean? But the rankings are all scooed, skewed, everything's messed up. Whatever. As long as we keep getting good fights and good cards, I don't give a fuck because the boxing, boxing is booming again. It's a great start to 2026.
SPEAKER_00So that means like if if like it's weird. So now, all right, they did that funny shit. So now Shakur would never want to probably want to fight for a WBC belt again.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_00And then he's not gonna get undisputed. Then we're not gonna be like, that's crazy. Yeah, they they kind of with the politics Floyd was never undisputed.
SPEAKER_02Was it? I think he was at some point. I don't think he was.
SPEAKER_00That's why it's something like that. Like Floyd, he never was, unless I'm I don't think he was never undisputed because the like the um belts and shit. I don't think he cared about money, man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but they was not giving him opportunities. Oh no, he never was undisputed. You're right. He's just beaten every freaking ex-champ and champ. Um that's that that's like a problem. Yeah, so now that's gonna be an issue. The goal should be to be undisputed, but they gotta do something. I think, I think though, the the public, how the public now sees the WBC and what they're doing.
SPEAKER_00Shout out to um, shout out to Andre Ward and Um uh Roy Jones and shit. They got like a brilliant idea of like they're gonna do you know, start like a union for the boxers. Like they need to do that ASAP.
SPEAKER_02Everyone they've been saying that since like 1990.
SPEAKER_00I heard, yeah, they were saying that for years, but they got the power in the money now, they got their podcast, they got money, all types of power.
SPEAKER_02You know what the problem is though? Why you can't do a union with boxers? It's the boxers themselves, and no disrespect to the fighters, it's their fault.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they can't just be thinking their egos they gotta agree with something, but yo, y'all need some type of a protection, bro. Y'all have to come together and make you have some type of protection because they just need money, management. Yeah, take take some of the power away from these stationing bodies, bro, because they be OD'ing on y'all.
SPEAKER_02I mean, they do though, they do have the power, they but it's just uh the higher level boxers have the power, but that's what Zoo's trying to do. So there's like a a good and a bad, you know, there's like a good and bad. These boxers, these boxers today get paid Buku bucks. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00Only at the top, though, really.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but like that that's what we're talking about. Like Andre Ward and Roy Jones Jr. were at the top. So the union they're talking about, is that gonna is that gonna help guys that are fighting on shit cards on their way? Like, what how do you get in that union? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00They need to be able to do that.
SPEAKER_02You know what I'm saying? It's hard, it's tough, it's a weird sport, it's a very weird sport in that regard. Uh yeah, we got anyone listening.
